TYSON (2/5): - This was an absolute dump...No nice way to say it! The entire facility smelled like vomit and mold (In fact, there was vomit in the hallway when we woke up). We left after 1 night. The staff did make an effort to keep it clean, but the disrepair was just too extensive. I've seen homeless shelters in better condition than this facility. I can not stress enough how poor the condition of this facility was. It goes without saying that it was extremely overpriced for the condition of the property. I would definitely not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

My room was a bit dull: I came back only at like midnight and everyone was in bed with the lights out, and no one else was up yet when I woke up at 8am. The hostel did sponsor an event for the guests every night so if you want to be social I think you can definitely get that here though

Hei Laam (8/5): Nice location nice staff and a good price - The staff here are welcoming and friendly. There was a problem with my bookig here, but they tried very hard to help me sort out the booking, which I really appreciate. The room is spacious and everything is clean. Breakfast is included, you can enjoy some toast, cereal and fruits.

My first night there I arrived pretty late and my bed did not have a pillow...I incorrectly thought maybe we needed to bring our own and I ended up having a miserable night of sleep. The next day I noticed all the other beds had pillows so I asked for one and they brought it later. None of the other beds had two pillows so mine was def just not ready. Breakfast is sufficient. You’re close to everything. Even though I booked late and it was for a mixed room, they put me with others of the same gender so I appreciated that.

Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location! Hostel is a nice place to lay your head, but its a little basic compared to many hostels. It was quite crowded in the kitchen and common area in the mornings. But the staff was great, friendly and helpful.

But it is also a downfall since there's no A/C and the window has to be cracked open in summer, resulting in constant street noise way into the evening, partying until 4:30 am, and construction noise starting up at 5:30 am. The stair railings were sticky, like paint that could never dry because of high humidity. The room floor slants toward the street. The bed is hard as a board and the linens thin and scratchy. The towels we were given at the front-desk were frayed and did not smell clean. We were told breakfast was included in our rate and that it started at 7:00 am, but when we made our way down to the lobby from our room and back up a different set of stairs to the kitchen, we found that if you didn't buy your own ingredients the night before to cook for breakfast, then you were going hungry.

The staff was very nice. The price was lower than many other hostels Apart from those, I did not feel comfortable. The bed was very bad. The rooms size of 4 was very small with ensuite bathroom. The ventilation of the room was not adequate, l did not like anything about the room. There was not any privacy certains etc.
Chris (8/5): Good central location - Centrally located hostel, really close to all the central sights especially Temple Bar and Trinity. We had a private bathroom which was clean with a good shower. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Also provide evening gatherings, with different themes each night such as board games and cheese and wine.

Kim Carlos John (10/5): - I booked a 4 bed shared room in this hostel. Staffs are friendly, good location, and very accessible to all transport. Only downfall is, the curtains in the toilets were not in good forms, and since it is located in the city centre, buses and cars who's passing by can see while I was in the toilet. I value my privacy and I hope this can be sorted out. I stayed in Room 1.

Christina (8/5): - Pros: The front desk staff were very helpful and nice when facilitating my check-in and helping me catch the bus to the airport. The second floor kitchen is a nice social space and the free breakfast was generous. Cleaning is daily and the bathrooms have lots of shelving to put your toiletries. I liked the card system to designate beds. Towels and locks are available for a deposit that is returned when the item is given back. Proximity to Trinity College and public transport (including both 747 and 757 Airlink bus lines) was very convenient. Cons: The building itself is old so the carpet/floors were a bit stained. This hostel is definitely not handicap accessible; expect to climb several flights of stairs. I was in a top bunk that felt a bit unsteady, with a gap between the mattress and the wall, so I was worried that myself or my phone charger would fall in the crevice. Overall, a very affordable and relatively comfortable place to stay in downtown Dublin.

Verified traveler (2/5): Traditional Hostel Experience - If you want a very traditional hostel experience, this is the place to be. The overall terrifying feeling of the possibility of all your things being stolen is hard to resist, along with back breaking beds and the 5 story walk up it paints a picture of shabby-chic. The staff seemed sparse and the two individuals we spoke to were wonderfully condescending. There is definitely a certain atmospheric charm to it, if ‘world traveling hipster’ is in your purview. If you are looking for more creature comforts, I would look somewhere else.

Room was lovely and warm breakfast was better than expected - cereals, fruit and toast, tea coffee and juices, help yourself set up. Great place to meet people if you're on your own. Private room exceeded our expectations for size and cleanliness - no tv but didn't bother us as we were so tired we fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows - which are quite thin and flat. Other than that excellent value for money for a private room in centre of city - but if you're used to a nice expensive hotel this probably isn't the place for you.
Julie (10/5): Great location - Location can't be beat. Literally less than 1 minute away from major bus stops to train station or airport and 2 big grocery stores. In-house kitchen large size and decent seating to enjoy your meal. Love the daily specials offered by the staff, during the weekend that I stayed, pancakes for breakfast. Cons: only under bed crates and no additional lockers for smaller items. Top bunk no railing on all sides so side touching wall has gap (items/limbs fall down to bunk below). Getting past security pin door with luggage and only one free hand is hard.Narrow hallways that are kept dark with slight delay motion sensor lights so can feel a bit scary to walk through in the late evening.
Verified traveler (8/5): Possibilities for Improvements - Great amenities were a private bathroom for our bedroom; under the bed crates on wheels that pulled out easily to lock up backpack; a panel of with an night light and 2 UBS plugs above the head of each bed. Female only rooms not an option. WiFi inadequate for the site and pictures could not be downloaded. No raw eggs available to cook for breakfast. Convenient location but consistently loud people outside until at least 2-3am and street traffic beginning at about 6:30am.

Verified traveler (6/5): Good size private room with bathroom - Our room had two twin bunk beds, 1 closet, desk, and an en suite bathroom. The bathroom and especially the shower didn’t look clean, but at least the water pressure was good. The breakfast included bread, cereal, and fruit. We liked that it was walking distance to Temple Bar area. Heads up, there is no elevator, so you need to walk up your luggage through the narrow stairs and hallways.

They do have free ear plugs in the lobby. They were very helpful explaining how to get the airport shuttle.
Diane (8/5): Great for the price - Excellent price & location. They had hair dryers you could borrow at the desk. They also had a charger that worked for my phone, which I was quite pleased about. They have 3 computers you can use in the lobby. I did wake each night when the pub downstairs closed.

Apart from a few people chatting and laughing as they passed the door it was very quiet at night, contrary to a lot of reviews I’d read. Would definitely stay again, and the free sangria and pancakes for brekkie were a bonus!
David (8/5): Location location location. - I had a double room en suite. It was spotless. Checkin was very welcoming and simple. The breakfast room had cooking facilities DIY along with cereals and fruit etc. The location couldn’t be better with only a short stroll to the Temple Bar area with all its bars and restaurants. Doyle’s pub was next door to this hostel.

The prices beat any hotel and we were in walking distance to everything! The staff was great and the beds were comfortable. There are no elevators, so be prepared to carry your suitcase up a few flights of stairs, but we had a great view of Trinity College!

B (6/5): Wrong Room - My wife and I showed up for our honeymoon and received the wrong room. We reserved a private room with a double bed for us but were given a room with bunk beds. When we asked if the room we paid for was available we were told it was given to someone else and that was the only room they had. Do not expect to get the room you picked out online.
Anais (8/5): My thoughts - It is a pleasant place to stay, and you can meet good people there. Though sometimes you can share the room with an undesirable person and you're pretty powerless. The location is ideal though, it is close to nearly everything. I recommend it if you are staying for a short time and if you want to spare money for other things.

Very friendly and helpful stuff, amazing kitchen with very awsome free event, laundary in the hostel. Amazing localisation in the heart of bar's area. Free tea and coffee. I think, my best HOSTEL ever! The cleanliness of floors could be better, but everything else like bathrooms, kitchen and beds was really perfect clean and fresh. Very safy place.

Erin (2/5): Avoid this one! - Dirty floors Limp pillows Old towels Speaks bed (high pitched, jarring with every move) Noisy neighbors, paper thin walls Breakfast not worth the money Unprofessional staff Management that doesn’t respond or care about guests The icing on the cake — a leaky window at 4am. Flooded our window sill and floor. We were promised maintenance would fix it. They didn’t. We were promised a room identical to ours (double bed/private bath) and then offered bunk beds. We finally left. I’m only sorry we didn’t leave sooner. Our new hotel was the same price, an actual hotel and the first good night sleep we had in Dublin. Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere that cares about their guests. Management has not responded to any emails discussing the situation. Very disappointing!

lydia (10/5): Best Hostel Yet - I came to this hostel planningnto stay one night, and then changed it to 2 nights and then 4... the staff is wonderful and the facilities are better than expected. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms are a good size too. I would recommend staying at this hostel.
Kyle (8/5): Great location, absolutely worth it for price. - The location is wonderful for exploring Dublin. You can walk to nearly anything and there is a bus stop across the street from the front door if you can't. Most of the staff were very friendly, one or two could have been better. The mattress wasn't very comfortable but it was clean, and the bathrooms are large and cleaned regularly too. The free events Mon-Fri evening also helped make a lot of new friends, and one of the days was even free beer!

Mletort (4/5): Not for families - The hostel is targeted at independent young adults, not for families. From caring the suitcases 4 floors up through a tiny staircase, to sleeping in a very small room without space for anything our experience was not what we expected for the price we paid.
Kathy (10/5): Fantastic - LOVE this hostel. Had bins under the beds to lock all of your bags (bring your own lock) and luggage storage if you get there early. The washer and dryer were easy to use and a great price. Didn't gouge you to have clean clothes. Depending on what room you get will determine the amount of noise from the streets but our window was open all night and it was so quiet. The location is fantastic and close to everything. He airport airlink bus is just down the road so it made it even easier to and from the hostel.
Greg (6/5): Below average - Check in was great. The overall condition of the building was very average. The bed was the worst I have ever slept on and well past their expiry date. I stayed in a dormitory room and did not enjoy it.

Of all the hotels I've stayed in over the years I think she may be the best front desk attendant I've had the pleasure of working with! 5-Star service at a Hostle! Thank you so much!!!!
Chantel (4/5): Avoid at all costs - Would never stay ther again. It was close to main area but the room was right on the street side and it was so loud. Not just cars and buses loud like road construction with jack hammers and quick cut concrete saws from 12am until 430 am. Also they make you pay if you want to use a towel which is insane, the beds were so cheep you were sleeping on springs, there is no elevator and the stairs wind up and then back down and then up again. The day and night staff on Sunday were some of the rudest people I have encountered in the service industry. Oh and our toilet was broken all day Sunday and when we asked someone to please fix it they just replied they couldn't. The person the next day said it was because no handyman was on duty on Sunday, that is fine and makes sense but at least tell us that and that tomorrow it will be fixed. Pay to stay somewhere else. I have stayed in hostels and hotels and everything in between and am not hard to please but this gets a 0 out of 5 stars
Tara (6/5): Great location, and that is all. - If you're looking for a great location, you've found it... but little else. We had one guy at the front desk who was really friendly and helpful, but pretty much everyone else seemed to tolerate the guests and that's it. The hostel was dark, dated and EXTREMELY cramped. The building is obviously older and sits at a slant, so standing in our room felt like being in a fun house. Maybe that's a good time for some people. They did have free ice cream one night though, which will buy them one extra star in my book, lol.

Woody (8/5): It's a hostel - Does what is says on the tin (even if the room photos are a bit of a positive spin). Was in room 5 (4 beds) and it was next to the kitchen so inevitably copped some noise. The roadworks on the tram lines outside were noisy but that's a temporary problem. Bed wasn't wonderful but did the job. Breakfast didn't look much cop but did not sample so no definite conclusion there. Staff were good, big kitchen, decent bathroom.
Alan (10/5): A Gem in Dublin! - This hostel was such a fabulous experience. Everyone who works here was friendly and so helpful! I received great recommendations from the staff from tours to take to restaurants to eat at. I felt comfortable and safe at the hostel, I honestly can't wait to stay again.
Qiuxia (2/5): Disappointed about service - The manager of this hostel, Javier Martin, was very un-professional and rude. I booked 4 nights at this hostel and was been asked moving to another room at the second day. He told me that I have to move out because someone paid more money to keep it as a “private room”. I met another guest who had same experience. I told Javier that I have to bring my luggage from 3rd floor to check out and then carry it again to the second floor without elevator. Furthermore, I couldn’t have lower bed as I requested. He told me that the hostel has the rights moving guests to a different room. I am very disappointed about the service.

Allison (8/5): Amazing inexpensive place in downtown Dublin! - The staff was super helpful and friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was impeccably clean. They have activities every night, and the people staying there are young, happy, and willing to chat with anyone.
Liz (8/5): Pleasantly surprised - As an "older" guest at the hostel, I was pleasantly surprised. At the end of the day its a hostel - you get what you pay for. We had a twin room with en suite which was perfectly adequate for our needs ie somewhere to pass out.

Mish J (2/5): Dirty,dirty,dirty - Filthy from the moment you walk up the very narrow stairs that the cleaners must find too challenging to bother with. Room filthy, dust and hair from probably the last months occupants. Dust and hair on the floor and windowsill. Hair on the floor in the 'en-suite' which you had to go out of your room to get to. None of us attempted a shower and the sink was so small underneath a shelf you couldn't get to it properly when brushing teeth. None of us wanted to stand on the floor in our bare feet and my socks were so dirty after one night they may as well have been used to clean the whole hostel. Very very disappointed considering the price paid for our room equalled that of a hotel. We were in a very small three person room, the dirt may have been more understandable sharing a dorm with 18 others. We washed our own dishes BEFORE having breakfast. I couldn't wait to get out. Unless you are hardcore travelling types with very low expectations then don't try this place.
Christine (2/5): Go elsewhere - Aleandro was helpful. However, the room was smelly and we had to buy air freshener so we could sleep in the room. The hot water in the faucet barely worked in the bathroom. When we arrived in the lobby, we could smell marijuana. Bathrooms are not clean, the vents in the ceiling are dirty. Shower was not clean. For the price of the hostel, you would be better off getting a hotel in a area that is a little bit further away. Stayed in the room as little as possible. The breakfast was good.
Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient location - Pros: 5 mins walk to Temple Bar area, Fleet street carpark (prepurchase the day pass online for much cheaper rates), Trinity College Cons: We were placed at the top level, so had to carry our suitcases 3-4 storeys up narrow staircases. Our room was facing the main street so it was very noisy. Noise can be shut off by closing the windows but the room would be stuffy & hot. Bed was uncomfortable, spring was broken, curtains were spoilt, can't be drawn so the people staying across the street can see full view of my room.
