Reception staff always friendly which is especially nice after a long day Pity that the hotel is closing for an extended period due to refurbishment. Please let your regular guests know when the hotel has reopened

The staff was super lovely and the coffee shop downstairs especially was such a bonus in the morning! The shower head was not super nice, the pressure was not very even and it was impossible to lower or raise the shower head either. If I had been any taller it would have been quite painful. Other than that it was a bit too warm but opening the windows fixed it!

- snudge88 (4/5): Style over Substance - There's no denying that the room looked nice, but that's about where the positivity about our stay ends. It is patently obvious that the owners of the hotel have prioritised having 'Instagrammable' rooms over and above having rooms that actually function as decent hotel rooms. The litany of problems was as follows: The latch on the shutters had been so poorly installed that it was impossible to properly close them. The shower cubicle was TINY; a small quarter of a circle in the corner of the bathroom. Furthermore, the shower was of an outdated 'two tap' model, which required endless finessing in order to avoid a shower that was either scaldinly hot, or ice cold. The shower was also far too powerful for the basic shower curtain, often leading to flooding of the bathroom. On our final morning at the hotel, the hot water failed completely, leaving us consigned to freezing cold showers before a long day's travelling. Talking of hot, the room was stifingly hot - and this was in April, with outside temperatures of about 18c. We are so glad that we didn't stay in summer! There is no air-conditioning at the hotel and, being on a somewhat noisy street, it was not practical to leave the bedroom window open overnight. In-room facilities were almost non-existent; a couple of black tea bags and that was it. For the price paid we would have expected the usual range of hot drinks, as well as basic bathroom essentials. All-in-all, whilst the place looked nice, it was not suitable as a hotel. We wished we'd paid a similar price and stayed at the Premier Inn just down the road.

Only thing is the waiting area/lobby is actually a restaurant so if it’s cold outside and you need to wait for a cab etc it‘s a bit jebdosnfjf.

- Anne_0802 (8/5): Good hotel for short break - Quant hotel. Got a bit lost for the entrance/check in desk as not your normal hotel lobby. Go in through the main door which you first think is a cafe which it partly is but reception over to the left. Rooms lovely, bed comfortable. Slight downside, walls are thin, we could hear our next door neighbours full conversation, room staff didn't replenish our water on day 1 but did day 2. Other than that reception staff are friendly and helpful. Had breakfast (not included) downstairs every morning as it was fab and why walk elsewhere.

- Roser (8/5): - We stayed in the executive room, very spacious but no city views. Generally not bad painting in some parts of the room could be of a better standing. Now something nobody comments on is the shower and that is a very important note, is very small could not move the shower head and my husband is tall, I am not but felt a bit claustrophobic and the shower curtain is useless, after shower water always accumulated in large quantities outside had to put a towel so to not slip.

- Aggelikh (10/5): Pleasant Staying! - The hotel is absolutely a diamond! The stuff was very kind and friendly. The room was very good,even though i was afraid that it would be small it was perfect for a couple! The temperature in the room was very good and the most important it was very very clean! They cleaned the room every day! The location was good and the neighbourhood was filled with a lot of choices for shopping, eating and coffee! Congratulations! The coffee store inside the hotel has amazing coffee and bites and Sarah is gorgeous!☺️ The only negative i have to emphasise to,is that the rooms are not soundproof..in the room next to ours there were some kids that they were laughing and make a lot of noise after midnight…probably not the hotels problem..but i have to say it!

- Pedro (8/5): - The hotel did not have wifi for 4 days. No options were given even though there was a pay subscription wifi service at the property. The staff was nice but maybe culture wise was not what was expected. But I do not have any concrete complains. A couple of days hot water and heating was unavailable during the mornings. Finally, it is my opinion that the restaurant Benedict has become a problem for the hotel. The restaurant is great but its success has become quite a problem for hotel guests. The restaurant is more of a priority than the hotel at this point, at the expense of the hotel guests.

From the efficient staff who greeted us warmly upon arrival at the hotel, to the hotel's highly popular Benedict breakfast restaurant and bar, and the super comfy bed and room that suited all my personal tastes snd needs. Special thanks to our Mixologist who served up a range of scrumptious cocktails with great skill, style and enthusiasm for my friend and I throughout our stay. The food is also great, especially the blueberry pancakes! I shall indeed be back!

- 584be_tal (4/5): Disappointed - I reserved 5 rooms, this was our second stay here. The internet was not working in the first 3 days, after tey fixed it it was very slow in the rooms. In two rooms the radiators where so noisy, that my collegaues could not sleep at night. After mentioning it atthe reception, in one of the rooms it was solved only. I was complaining at the reception aboutvthese upon c/out, but the receptionist only could say ,,o.k.,, Not even apaologising about the inconvenience! Instead of this, he charged me for the city tax of the room his collegaue forgot to do it on the first day! Very dissappointing.

Breakfast was really tasty and good portions, however not a relaxed experience in that hotel customers have to battle for tables, especially at weekends, with the public who also use the restaurant. Rang down a few times to try and reserve a breakfast table, as instructed, but often told it was a 45 min wait or to go down right away so can impact other plans you have for the day. Only one mirror in the room which was above the bathroom sink, could have done with another full length.

- erincK7504DH (8/5): Gorgeous, spacious room. Needs soundproofing. - This was a unique and fun hotel. The room on the top floor where we stayed was large, had great views over the rooftops and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. It felt like staying in a room in a private house rather than a hotel room. The restaurant was buzzy and did a great breakfast. The location is rather far from the main tourist attractions, but it is in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood, close to public transport, good shopping and restaurants. The reason I haven’t given it a 5 star review is because there is a serious issue with the soundproofing of the walls. We could hear our neighbours’ every word, cough (and more, unfortunately) as though they were in the room with us. It made it difficult to sleep, to say the least. A few pointers for hotel management, if they want to make the experience more in line with standard hotel offerings (apart from sorting the soundproofing, which I’d say is essential): - get some decent towels, including washcloths, and - provide basic toiletries (including conditioner), a full length mirror, a makeup mirror, bottled water, and a box of tissues. A coffee maker would be a nice addition.
- MahoosiveBadger (8/5): A great stay! - The vibe and location of the hotel were perfect, as was our room. The restaurant downstairs is fantastic, too. The only small note from me is that the soundproofing between our room and the one next door wasn’t great: we were woken a couple of times by the sounds of a passionate romance being consummated! My partner adds that a full-length mirror and fluffier towels would be additions worth considering. That said, we had a great stay and would visit the Max Brown Hotel Ku’damm again in a heartbeat. - Cansu (7/5): I like the hotel very much but I think I expected better service - Style was very cozy but I think I didn’t get the best room Benedict staff was very rude, as a hotel guest I had to wait all the time and the last day when I wanted to grab my luggage the man called Adam shouted at me because i grabbed my luggage because I had to run and and there was no one to help and the door was open. And I just took my luggage you can even check from cameras I think his way to say things was really rude instead of helping
- Morgan (7/5): Good - The welcome staff was very nice. The facilities were clean, coY, and chic. I was able to bring my fur baby, which was grand. My checkout experience was the exact opposite. I requested an extended check out and the front desk staff was so rude and dismissive. He suggested they need to be informed ahead of time, before check out day, which is not common. I felt so judged and disgraced after I spent hard earned money to spend Valentines Day and my anniversary with Max Brown. Really disappointed.

- 514richyl (4/5): All Style, No Substance - This hotel tries hard to impress with a shabby-chic, hipster aesthetic, but completely fails at the basics of hospitality. Broken amenities: The window barely closed—unacceptable in bad weather. The record player with vinyl? Just decoration, because it doesn’t work. No service, no drinks: No minibar, no in-room drink options, and after 11 PM, you can’t order anything at all. Unbelievable for a hotel in this price range. Noisy heating: The heater works, but it hasn’t been bled, so it makes loud banging noises when turned on—good luck sleeping. No real lobby = no place to wait: The so-called lobby is actually a packed restaurant, meaning there’s nowhere to sit and wait. Bottom line: Looks nice in pictures, but completely impractical. Poor service, disorganized, and absolutely not recommended!

The hotel was nice and quiet, restaurant was busy, it looked very nice but we didn’t end up trying anything there.

Hotel room decor wa - Lovely decor, friendly staff, good location, good value for money. Some areas of the room were abit dusty eg under the bed and on the top of panelling on the walls. But otherwise no issues!

- Louise (10/5): Amazing, highly recommend - The hotel looked amazing, it was modern funky and a bit urban chic. The reception was welcoming as a solo traveler and efficient. All the staff were really friendly. My room was gorgeous and the bed was so comfy. The hoop and soft basketball was a bit of fun too. Shower pressure was the best I’ve ever had. Coffee bar was gorgeous and the pastries, literally out of this world. I was searching the room for the general hotel info etc like a welcome pack with all the WiFi info etc I only found it when I asked at reception for the WiFi code and the info is there when you sign in. Would have been nice to just have a welcome card to tell you that. Would have been nice to have one English Chanel on the tv as English is so widely spoken but it made me “not watch tv” so maybe was a good thing

- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Great decor and very comfy bed. The room was much larger than expected and had a nice view. The staff also left a very comfortable bed for my dog as well as a water and food bowl. We had a great stay. The bathroom shower was a little dark as there wasn't a direct light in the shower area, but this wasn't a big deal. There also wasn't any coffee machine in the room, although there was some nice tea and very nice cups provided.

Comfortable beds with high quality linens. Showers let it down as they do not have modern shower heads and they have shower curtains only in most rooms
- Andy (8/5): We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. - Room was nice with good natural light, good amount of space. Bed was very comfortable. Nice having a table and chairs. When we had to be moved to a different hotel due to issues with heating/hot water, the reception staff handled the situation very well and we were happy with the outcome. Would have been good to have a bottle opener in the room but not a big problem as reception desk was able to help. Tea sachets were not replaced each day.

- Vincent (8/5): Interesting stay - Nice and clean room. Very quiet and comfy bed! Convenient to have breakfast from 8:00 to 22:00. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant that has lots of outside guests and lines. We had to call in the morning and wait for a spot in order to get breakfast. It was busy and noisy, not the best to relax.

- Stuart (6/5): Nice hotel lacking some facilities - Bed was comfortable, room was clean and the shower excellent. The road was pretty quiet and the S-bahn a short walk away. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English (although I can make myself understood in German it is easier if the staff have some English). The tea/coffee making facility was limited - a kettle and two teabags (one herbal, no milk, no coffee). The cups had no handles which made them impossible to hold when hot and the saucers were essentially plates so the cups slid over them. There was no fridge in the room. In addition the towels in the bathroom were on the small side and very thin. We had breakfast downstairs on the first morning, a breakfast for two cost 60 euros. On the second morning we walked along the road for 1 minute and paid half for a nicer breakfast.

- Grigoris (5/5): NOT SOUNDPROOF - The room was cozy even though it was small and the bed was super comfortable but if the rooms next door are occupied you won't be able to sleep. The walls were paper thin and there was no sound proofing at all. Even if someone in the room next to yours talks you are able to hear everything, especially at night time when everything is quiet. We ended up not being able to sleep for the majority of our stay because of the noise from the room next door. Also the corridors had a weird smell not that pleasant.

- bkthar63 (10/5): A Nice Place To Stay for a Short Break - A well located medium sized hotel close to public transport and on a street with a variety of restaurants and small shops to suit your needs. All staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious , comfortable and had a quirky retro/ vintage design to go with that Berlin art/ culture vibe. We chose to breakfast at the in-house very popular restaurant with locals - Benedicts, where their 24/7 breakfast/ brunch offering was to die for - which included freshly baked bread from their in house bakery and the thickest and fluffiest pancakes we have ever had. Would highly recommend this friendly and comfortable place with a high standard of service, as a nice place to stay if you are on a short visit to Berlin.

Even if the bathrooms are pretty simple - I enjoy the design over all, cozy! Wonderful bed! And just love the little basket at the wall and the ball to play from the bed :) Thanks for the warm welcome - looking forward coming back another time! My room was pretty cold. But didn't ask for help - so nothing the hotel to blame for... ;)

- Adin (9/5): Wonderful stay - Our stay was delightful. The room was big, well decorated and so clean it felt like we were the first to use the facilities! Location is excellent and the staff very friendly and keen to help out. Everything from check-in to check-out was smooth. (Basket on top of the bed was a great touch we surprisingly used it a lot...! ) Had a bit of a struggle with the terrace door but wasnt too much of a bother.
- Guy (8/5): overrated... - original non-typical hotel room the breakfast is to be taken in the most popular breakfast resto of Berlin > no priority to get a table for hotelguests which is not at all comfortable as people line up till outside to have breakfast there > it's kinda a poor joke you have to put your name on the waitinglist to have breakfast
