- NorthStar53239833461 (10/5): A Five Star Experience - We spent a day and half at this hotel over Christmas and absolutely loved every minute. This location is modern and stylish and the staff are polished but also very warm. We enjoyed the Club Lounge and amenities. All were top notch. The staff are so kind and charming. Josh in the Lounge and Harrison at the Front Desk were among our favorites. We enjoyed the easy enclosed walk to the J.W. Lobby and the excellent bar there as well. We can't wait to return to this property.

- Timothy (10/5): - The property was a bit less than expected, it feels a little dated, the lobby is very small, not many dining options - need to go to Marriott next door… for such an expensive room, it was below my expectation. The service was good mostly, except for 1 lady, Christine at the front desk, she was just plain rude the few times I’ve had to talk to her. The room was fine, nothing special, just a standard room. The great thing about it is that it’s close to Crypto arena, less than 10 min to USC, lots of restaurants near by in LA LIVE, nice movie theater across the street… so overall I’d stay here again.

It was huge The views were great out the 2 corner windows The room had a huge bathroom bedroom area with couch and table and large closet The service was great and they ordered a cab for our short trip to the train station Our room was on the 24th floor so there was no street noise We felt 100% safe in the area downtown and I had been a little concerned after the problems in the area the weeks before

- 138maciem (2/5): Dirty, old and charges card for items not yours! - This place is dirty and distrusting. There was either food or vomit smeared into the cushion chairs around the jacuzzi. There were used dirty pull ups all around the pool area. Dirty towels and broken glass, my family ended up having shards of glass on feet and hands. The room was dirty and completely dated. There is $600 of charges that are not mine. I called and emailed to show proof of these charges and I received nothing. It was truly a disappointment and we will never stay again. I would rather stay in a nicer hotel in Santa Monica than here. $4,000 dollars later and we had a HORRIBLE stay. Disappointing!

- amroosh78 (10/5): Excellent stay at the Ritz in LA - I’ve been to this hotel several times over the last few years while on business trips, and it continues to be an excellent property. Located nicely in the heart of LA Live next to the convention center with plenty of restaurants and activities around, including crypto arena. The rooms are well-kept and clean. I had an issue with my original room, they kindly honored my Bonvoy status and upgraded me to a suite. The concierge, Patricia, was wonderful with her excellent recommendations and ability to get tough reservations.
- vazuma (10/5): Stay at this hotel - This hotel is no exception to the Ritz Carlton experience. Service is excellent, and without being stuffy, the people are warm and friendly. From the bellhop and cleaning people to the concierge, everyone greets you with a smile. Where else would the staff suggest you request a late checkout to make your departure easier? As for attention to detail, my stay in the club lounge was extended as well as the checkout time. In order to do that, another set of keys were delivered to my room so that I could extend my stay in the club lounge as well. I did not know the room keys are keyed to checkout times too. I am not aware of anywhere else you could stay and get this level of service.

I felt taken care of by Nikko who went above and beyond to make my stay special. I actually came back because of him! This hotel is beautiful and we loved the pool! But the customer service that i received from Nikko was the greatest! He is a great model and example of someone who genuinely cares for his guests. - 322pd (2/5): not good - normally, I love Ritz Carlton‘s. The Ritz in Tokyo is my favorite hotel in the world. The Ritz in Laguna Beach is probably my second favorite. But things are not working at the Ritz Carlton in downtown LA. They seem to be short staffed at the front desk both when I got in which admittedly was quite late but also in the morning at 7 AM . something was going on with the pipes in the rooms when we were there. when you turn the water on, it made a gurgling noise and then the water shot out horizontally across the sink, soaking whoever was trying to wash their hands or brush their teeth. It wasn’t just me. I had three clients who are also staying at the hotel. The same thing happened to two of the three clients. I sent a text on the Marriott app alerting the hotel to the issue that night and I got a text back saying they could send someone from engineering up to take a look by the next morning. It was obvious this was not an isolated incident. It was happening across the hotel and the offer to send someone from engineering up to take a look certainly seems disingenuous in hindsight. in the morning, I brought it up with the front desk person that three of the four of us had been soaked and asked to have her manager contact us as she did not feel that there was anything that she could do. I think she may have been relatively new. No one ever called or emailed. For a normal hotel I wouldn’t be that surprised but for Ritz honestly I am. I will try to attach the video of the water shooting across.

- log24 (10/5): Quiet Luxury - Always look forward to our stays at the Los Angeles Ritz Carlton. Well located within a short to medium walk of plenty of activities in DTLA. Easy to use a free night certificate on Sunday evenings. Room is more luxurious than those at the JW Marriott next door. Destination fee covers more useful items than many hotels and includes a $40 food and beverage credit. The credit may also be redeemed at the JW Marriott’s bars and restaurants. A small leaflet issued at check outlines the benefits. We always take advantage of complimentary admission to the Grammy Museum that’s a few blocks away. With high nightly rates and only three high floors of rooms, every stay is nice and quiet. Pool area is under renovation but they claimed we could use the pool at the JW.

No restaurant of its own for breakfast or lunch. Rooftop pool is small, unattended, and with no food or beverage service; you have to call room service and they bring it like takeout in paper and plastic. And the next day they would not allow us to go to the pool at the Marriott, which by the way owns Ritz Carlton.
- scottlW957DL (2/5): Beware – Ritz Carlton downtown Los Angeles - I recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Los Angeles and was thoroughly disappointed by my experience. Upon checking out, I discovered that several valuable items were missing from my room, presumably misplaced by housekeeping. When I brought this to the attention of management, I expected a professional response and assistance in resolving the issue. Instead, I encountered a dismissive attitude. Management not only failed to take responsibility but also insisted that I would have to pay for the missing items, which was both frustrating and unacceptable. The lack of accountability and support from the staff was shocking for a hotel of this caliber. It left a sour taste in what should have been a luxurious stay. I do not recommend this hotel if you value your belongings and expect reliable customer service.

- love2travel79 (10/5): Posh! - Family of 4 had a 1 night staycation for the holidays. Our family returns to the LA live area during the holidays every year to see the tree, ice skate, and enjoy the festive environment. We usually stay at the JW Marriott but decided to splurge this year and stay at the attached Ritz-Carlton. We truly enjoyed our stay and the service. We almost did not want to leave the room as it sets a very pleasant feeling with the ambient lighting, posh atmosphere, and beautiful views. The lobby is rather small but very easily accessible to the large lobby of the JW Marriott. Very happy we switched and can't wait to return.
- noreenc494 (6/5): Lovely hotel with lovely staff bar one who ruined our stay. - This is a lovely hotel with great staff apart from one who marred our whole experience. We booked two rooms in the Executive Club lounge level so that we could eat dinner in the lounge right beside our rooms after long days sightseeing. The food was 5 star but unfortunately, despite being no more than ten people in the lounge at any given time, it was continuously running out. Cameron appeared to be the night manager of the lounge and despite requests from his staff did not replenish. He also appeared to be the only one who could serve us alcoholic drinks and also made it clear he was in no rush to do this. Us and the other family sat with empty glasses and plates for over thirty minutes before chasing him down to request more - this despite tipping him $10 each round. He made us feel very unwelcome. Nathan and Victoria on the other hand were delightful but unfortunately their shifts ended before dinner. We paid over $1000/night for the lounge level so at the very least expected more than two hors d,oeuvres for dinner. Aside from this the only other minor criticism I would have would be the lack of uniformity in room assignment. My family of four only got one sink in our room yet my two sisters had a room (also on club level) with one sink each. They also had a lot of amenities that we lacked Rooms were very very comfortable though and it is lovely to have a tub in the bathroom - hard to find these days. p.s. We submitted a review to the hotel and were told guest relations would be in touch to discuss but one month later we have heard nothing so I doubt we will return to this hotel.

- Trek787813 (10/5): Definitely 5 stars in my book. - Service: From the moment we walked in, we were greeting warmly and offered a welcome beverage. Everyday during our 5 day stay we were greeted and remembered by name. Housekeeping even remembered us and asked us if we needed anything, left us extra chocolates at then down, etc. Food: This section is lacking. I expected a better menu than that of the JW and wish there was a broader menu option for take out. Pool/Spa/Amenities: While the hotel connects to the JW, you’re only allowed access to the Ritz pool. The pool is small and during the week there is no bar/food service at the pool outside of ordering room service. The spa was phenomenal and I dozed off after my appointment. I wish the front desk did a better job elaborating on the daily charge and what it includes. Room: The room was phenomenal. The shower/tub combo along with the bath salt allowed me to relax every night. The bed was very comfortable and the views/space was ample. Tips: With the amount we stayed and our status with Marriott, a small note or present goes a long way and would have blown the service out of the park.

- T1307MNstevenw (6/5): Overpriced Marriott property, not Ritz Carlton quality - I have fond memories of staying at this property prior to Covid. My family would visit often while I was on business. We enjoyed the lounge etc and received really great and friendly service. Alas, that was then! Now, it’s a glorified Marriott property trying to aspire to Four Seasons level of service. It fails! On check in, they lied that an upgraded room was not available. They charged a mandatory resort fee, which included movie tickets to the theatre across the street, free popcorn to the bowling alley next door and enhanced wifi access. Firstly, which Ritz Carlton guest has time to see a movie or go to a bowling alley, and if they do, surely they don’t need to be subsidized on popcorn etc while being gouged on the back end. Also, the “enhanced” wifi didn’t even exceed 10 mbps on my Speedtest! And the lounge…that was so disappointing, really! In fact, I felt sad. I have fond memories of my kids visiting when they were younger and the staff there (Rory et al) were so friendly. Other than Cynthia who vaguely remembered me, the other staff were aloof (certainly not friendly). Also, back then they knew how to make my cocktail (Sidecar). Now, they tried to cheap out and used brandy and Triple Sec. One sip and I sent it back. I had to tell them they needed to make it the proper way or not to make it at all (with cognac and Cointreau). And what’s with the paper wrapped tumblers in the room, 2+ years removed from Covid?! I felt I was in some cheap airport motel. After two nights I had had enough and moved to the adjacent JW Marriott for a fraction of the cost I was paying at the Ritz. Would I repeat?! Definite no!

This is the reason we choose to stay at RC properties: the phenomenal ladies and gentlemen that go above & beyond with the extra touches and genuine hospitality Special recognition to Kim at the front desk, Claudia at the spa, Mark from engineering. Fantastic! Our room was luxurious. We watched a gorgeous sunset from our room. Very comfortable beds. We enjoyed soaking in the rooftop hot tub, empanadas at Corteza, relaxing in the spa (Claudia was a star!) and delicious room service for breakfast and lunch. 5 stars!

Facilities (5): Rooftop pool area very spacious with cabanas and seating. Was a nice place to relax. Atmosphere (4): Common areas very clean. More of a boutique hotel feel. Missing overall "luxury" feel of other properties. Value for Money (2): Very expensive for what you get and likely not much different from JW Marriott attached. I used a free night award. Cleanliness (5): Overall clean in all areas of hotel. Overall Experience: Very nice place to stay if needing to be near LA Live and the arena. Value proposition low in my opinion.

- alicehomc (6/5): Mixed feeling… - Since a few of our friends live in downtown LA, we decided to pick our 3 night stay in downtown - we originally preferred Beverly Hills area but we thought we would give downtown a chance. The building itself consists of - JW Marriot, Ritz Carlton and Ritz residence. So to get to our floor at the ritz, we had to change elevator once at 22/F to get to 25th. Check in was smooth. The bellman guided us to our room, and was very helpful. However, as we exit the elevator to our floor, there was a fat chip (fries) on the carpet floor which wasn’t pleasant. Our room was nice, has a view to the crypto stadium. However, the AC was making a loud noise by the bed and we can’t really do anything about it. Laundry service instruction was straight forward and efficient (reason I mentioned this because from my previous review on Kimpton Sawyer Sacramento’s laundry service was a disaster). Room service was nice however, they need to up their game in service - we had some room service to our room in the late afternoon, when we were done with it, and we had to leave the room, we put the tray outside our room and informed in room dining department that we have left the tray outside and kindly asked them to pick that up, it was around 6:45pm. When we returned to our room at 11:45pm, the tray was still there. Not nice. Sometimes you see empty used cups here and there in lobby area etc. if you want to use the spa, we have been told by the spa staff that we needed to pay extra (we haven’t paid for spa in hotels so far eg. Using the steam or sauna). We were waiting for our Uber ride at the lobby and the few front desk staffs were chatting very happily and loudly which is great to know they all get along well but it was loud enough to make us feel if we should wait outside because it was really just us and the staff there at the time and the lobby of the ritz carlton is not exactly big. All in all, I’d say ritz carlton is alright, but it’s still pretty expensive for what you get…
- christopherpasadena (10/5): Anniversary Weekend - Great week-end stay at the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary with a quick get away. We were upgraded to a beautiful corner suite on the 24th floor. We had access to the appetising offerings of the Club Lounge. One of the gentlemen, Mr. Nathan Landaverde, was most gracious and took good care of us during our stay. We will definitely be going back.

Free breakfast and added a 100.00 credit for lunch. Also they accommodated my daughters stay as well. the bellmen took us straight up to our room. Room service has good food, service calls was excellent, we had 9 guest come up to our room it was spacious and comfortable. We had a superb time

I will complain to the hotel.

I could not help but feel that my original room was released to another party. This circumstance made it for a less expected planned treat for my wife and I. Overall, the stay was very nice, but could have been better.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - I expected more since it was the “ritz”. No robes or refreshments in the fridge or snacks in the room. I came back late one night 2 am and there was no one at the front desk to let me in. I had to go through the residential side. Thank goodness someone was there at the counter.

- S (2/5): Not happy - I bought the service through a third party at hotels.com and I wasn't informed that I had to pay an additional $100 per night sorry I didn't get the room after all I am now in litigation with getting my room service fees returned because I was misinformed as a party that there would be any more out-of-pocket expenses after purchasing it through hotels.com.

- Katrina (2/5): - Such great potential that missed the mark. It just doesn’t live up to the standard. Rooms here are older and housekeeping didn’t do a good job in the first room we checked into. We were moved to an “upgraded” room for the trouble only to find it reeked of smoke and had dirty carpet and a dirty mirror. We were offered free breakfast for the troubles of that room but it didn’t have any vegan options and the home fried I was able to order was cold and from a frozen pack, not hot at all. All in all, I will never stay here again..I will stick to four seasons which is the place I normally would stay.
- Paulina (4/5): - No mini bar. Room service or anything like it. Nice room and nothing else. If it is not working as a 5 star hotel. They should not charge like one. Staff rude except for front desk nightshift Freddy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a great stay, the service was amazing. Had I known that they share amenities with the Marriott, I most likely would have booked Marriott. The spa wasn’t open and that’s why I wanted to stay there.
