- Henry (8/5): Price & Location - Price is reasonable, good location, only 5 mins walk to MTR Prince Edward.
- Wing Kin (6/5): - The toilet is too small for showering
- Verified traveler (8/5): Solo traveler - Stay 10 days for home renovation. Very cost effective as a solo stayer
- Verified traveler (6/5): 5 minutes walk from MTR - The room is very small including the bathroom.
- phillip (6/5): Great value but need to provide free water and cof - In great location.
Everything is fine based on price paid.
But other similar hotels around offer more.
Like: free water, free coffee.
Bad thing is only one electrical outlet: one used by kettle.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing room too small like a prison had to change room because the cleaner broken the the handle for our room they didn’t even offer to help us move spoke their language complaining about us but they didn’t now my wife understood contnese very poor
- Verified traveler (8/5): - So far so good will coming here next time where i vist hong kong ...
- Jann Heinrich (8/5): Good for the budget but poor WIFI signal - WIFI too weak on the 8th floor. Though very budget friendly. Very accessible from MTR.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed are soft. It's beautiful lobby. It's nearly many restaurants that so many choices for you. MTR is close to hotel, you walk few minutes.
- Anil (10/5): - It was very good.
- mei (4/5): - The room is too small, the hotel is too dark, I don’t like it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room without window, dirty carpet, bathroom too small, water running all the time, fridge fan so loud keep me awake all night, TV without channel, air condition is too cold, even turned off still cold air blowing. will not recommend to anyone.
- WT (6/5): - Man that room was freezing! Place needs a renovation. Great potential. Nice staff
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel is walking distance to Prince Edward MTR. Room is small, look old and bad sound proof. Lift breaks down n have to climb up the stairs. No facilities. Overall experience is disappointing.
- Alfredo (8/5): - A relaxing last night in HK...
- Kat (6/5): - beside from the mineral water charing HK$4 per bottel. the fridge is not working. the toilet is very small. the pillow cover is so dirty. there's stain. need to improve
- Dorji (6/5): OK if you are solo. AVOID if not - My room was on the top floor (10th floor), which had a huge noise of the AC of the building, perhaps, on my head. Next I requested and they put me a floor below, which was ok. The room is "OK" as I was travelling alone. But if there are more than one person, AVOID the place. Room is too small. If you are fat, even if you are alone, you may not fit into the bathroom. Seriously..
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hard to get a taxi by this location. Room is too small for 2 people.
- Luke (6/5): Okay... in a pintch. - Sudden booking after a flight delay. Room was rather cramped but the bathroom was clean enough. Slightly out of the way but walk-able from Prince Edward Stn if you're travelling light; 5 or 6 mins, perhaps. Very limited facilities so better for singles/couples who wont be spending much time in their room.
- David (10/5): - Short Review: Will stay again.
Long Review:
Very nice and helpful staff. I had an issue with the room-safe two times. Each time the Manager promptly came upstairs and got things sorted (battery was going dead most likely).
Upon checking out, the front-desk gal was kind enough to help me with some directions I had that were a bit confusing. This was all in English as I don't speak any Cantonese.
I noticed a few people comment about the room size here. Yes it is small, but the decorations are tasteful and not overly "worn" like so many others. This is Hong Kong. It's small. Even after taxes it's less than $100 a night here. It's great for a solo traveler or with an intimate guest.
MTR station (Prince Edward) very convenient.
My only real wish is that they would offer a second English language TV channel like CGTV. Pearl is only part-time broadcasting in English (half the time it's stock market statistics to music, and a quarter of the time it's kids animated programming). I'm one of those people who require a TV on in the background to sleep.
- Eric (8/5): Nice hotel at city centre, good for dining out - A nice and clean room for couple and cheaper price than the others in the same area
- sommr (6/5): Cheap hotel for transit or very short stay - Hotel staf spoke too fast to be understood and had to ask them to repeat each time they spoke. Room is small (as advertised in listing) about 5 min walk from MTR. Hotel is ok for transiting or short stays. Not a place to spen a lot of time but ok for low priced transit location.
- Harry (2/5): Not for every one. May Single low budget traveler - May be Ok for Single low budget traveler,Very small romm. Paid for 3 people, no room to move with three beds.If you from a western country, you would not like it at all. We had to find another hotel in a hurry. No refund offered.
- Danny (4/5): Terrible experience - Room is very tiny and smells bad.I will never return to this place again regardless the price
- Wendy (6/5): CLOSE TO SHOPS, EATERIES AND TRANSPORTATION - ROOM WAS QUITE SMALL, AND ALTHOUGH ITS SMOKE FREE ROOMS, I EXPERIENCED OTHER GUESTS SMOKING IN THE CORRIDOR AND SMOKES SEEPED IN UNDER THE DOOR EVERY NIGHT OF THE THREE NIGHTS I WAS THERE. VENTILATION NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.
- James (4/5): Review of Oriental Lander - Hotel reception, staff and check in was fine but our room was very small. Hardly enough room for our bags. It also was stuffy and smelled of cigarette smoke. For £110/night i expected a lot more.
Wouldn't go again.
- Cat (6/5): Overall is acceptable. - Front desk staff was nice, overall this hotel is pretty ok. Only one thing, was noisy. I understand this is the ataffs’ Controllable. Location is not much convenient.
- Asia (6/5): - Good location, close to train. Friendly hotel staff. Dimly lit hallways to room and carpet needs updating. Very small bathroom.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Have had better for same price - Room and hallway constantly smelled like someone smoking. Shower made for someone no bigger than 5'5". But staff were nice.
- georgie (8/5): Good customer service - They actually do follow the enquired I ask for and my morning call all best hotel will recommend people to stay
- Issa (10/5): A very good hotel to stay - We had our five days and four nights trip in hong kong and we choose to stay in the aaid hotel. It is a convenient place to stay. Its 15 minutes away from the MTR or train station. Along the way you will pass through some 711 store or any other convenience store.
- Y (8/5): Good and safe environment hotel for budget travel. - Safe locations, nearby mtr station and easy to street market distance.
- Arlene (4/5): Uncomfortable Tiny room for 3 - With such a tiny room and paying such high rate is not worth. Especially the toilet, shower area is so small not able to stretch, turn or band down to wash. Basin is cracked, also right in the corner. Total stay was really uncomfortable. We don’t even get complimentary water during our stay.
- Yung (8/5): Good - Good location. Room too small but enough for 2 ppl. Friendly staff. Will come again.
- Ethan (4/5): Pick a different place to stay. - I wouldn't stay at this hotel. It's farther out of the way than you need to be to get a similar price. Plus the room I had was small even for Hong Kong. In addition, the bed felt like sleeping on a hard wood floor, and the shower/sink didn't get hot; I was lucky if they felt warm.
The internet was also very slow.
Overall, I would avoid this hotel if possible.
- David (8/5): Nice shower! - Nice shower. It was exactly what I expected. All of the bad reviews on this hotel were from people who love fresh expensive seafood but has a McDonald’s fish filet budget.
- Andy2K (8/5): GOOD MID PRICE CLEAN HOTEL - Small room. SHORT 5 MINUTE WALK TO MTR. CENTRAL TO HONG KONG.
- Tan (8/5): Overall good - Location quite far from MTR, walking distance around 10 min. Hotel facilities overall is good. Stay for 3 night, satisfies with the stay.
- Bandark (6/5): Good Place For 3 Days Sleep - Good place to stay for more than 1 days. Transportation a little bit far from hotel, need to walk like 500 or 600 meter to go to MRT station (Prince Edward). Room is nice, but bathroom very small. It can only fit for 1 person. Staff are helpfull. Dont worry for late check in. If you good and fast learning about bus transportation, they are many bus stop near the hotel. If you dont want, just use the MRT. I stay family with 2 kids. Comfortable hotel. I would come again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Trip to Mongkok - Shower is too small, bed is hard like stone...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel with comfort - The 1st night, I was unable to get to sleep as the sheets were washed with a scented soap, (I have allergy with scents) which I mentioned to the chamber personnel and it was corrected for the next 2 nights stay.
- Danny (4/5): HORRIBLE! - 1st night I was woken up 4 times by a fire alarm. Turned out someone was smoking in his room next door and set off the fire alarm 4 times. Firemen, when coming for the 4th time, finally gave him a warning!
2nd night, a couple was doing the wild thing and their noises kept me up all night. Turned out there is a Night Club (that opens for business at 9am) next door and customers can get a room in this hotel with their paid escorts to perform the dirty deed there.
Very shady and raunchy hotel, dark hallways, very old decor, thin walls, and SUPER expensive for what you are getting! Highly NOT recommended!!
- paul (8/5): paul - the hotel is located in the centre of the city . the washroom and
shower area is too small/ you can choose this hotel if the price
is cad110.00 or under
- Jude (6/5): Not really impressive - Overpriced shoe box
- Bart (6/5): Bed and bathrooms very very small.
- No coffee availlable in the entire hotel,
It's a ok hotel but just to sleep
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best bang for the buck. Right in Mong Kok. Pretty much just to sleep and shower but well worth the price.
- David (2/5): Not a nice place to stay - Things started badly when they said they charge $4HK for the water bottles in the fridge! The room was smokey but staff attitude was worse. You've paid, w'eve got your money so we don't care about problems with the room. Also beware they take a deposit and then say that they will cancel it but wont execute the cancellation voucher (they say it takes up to three weeks!)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Wrong choice - The hotel front desk is not friendly and helpful maybe because we’re from manila cause I observe them every time I’m waiting for the Uber in the lobby if someone guest approached them they talk to them nicely the room we stayed since we check in there’s always a vacuum cleaner and host of the cleaner along the hallway and to mention that hallway is very small and the cleaner is just on the floor they got small fridge that is not working when you open the lights only turn On but its not chilled instead warm.. lol
The bathroom is not cleaned eeww! you can’t find anyone employee to approach and of you call in the front desk it’s useless they won’t understand my english ( I’m a Fil-am) i guess enough to speak right English but still you can see on their face that they don’t want to talk to you. The hotel needs total renovation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice, convenient to metro, airport bus
- Arthur (4/5): WRONG INFORMATION & ROOM SIZE. - This hotel advises on its website that there is free breakfast available and you can choose it as an option. This is incorrect as there is no kitchen in the hotel the twin room was very small. I had a large suitcase and there was no storage space to store it
- tina (10/5): Oriental lander hotel 4nights - Hotel staff is friendly, they can converse well in english. The room is being cleaned everyday. Nice hotel for a very quick vacation in hong kong. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): This hotel should be the short rest - Fault fire alarm rang 2 times by midnight.
- Analyn (4/5): - So disappointing..the room is really not good and comfortable. I don't think it's safe but for me reaaly not!
- Johwel (6/5): Not bad - You can hear people beside us when they are talking.the room is very small but it normal in hongkong. They let us check in earlier with no charge which is a bonus. Rhe bed is pretty hard so we decided to chsmge hotel in the end. Overall it not bad.
- waste money (2/5): Tiny room, tiny bathroom, tiny corridor, only 1lift - First time I saw triple star hotel with tiny room, bathroom even the corridor. And the most dismay was my bed besides the bathroom. I did not enjoy my stay. Also, only 1 lift and the time of our stayed there was problem with the lift , so we took staircase to ground floor (staircase was dirty). No free drinking water, no free coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 'Will definitely stay there again! - Rooms are not spacious but its ok for its price. The staff at check-in is nice and courteous. Water pressure at the room is strong. Towels are clean. I recommend it to those who have tight budget. I will definitely stay there again if I go back to Hongkong
- Verified traveler (4/5): A noisy hardware shop next to hotel. - Toilet is very small and only one AC power point for charging.
- Shing kuen (10/5): - Cheap, good location
- Rich (8/5): very nice staff, clean hotel, great location - difficult to ask for more from a hotel at this price. great experience. i would highly recommend this place.
- Elenor (8/5): Clean, close to shopping areas - Room was clean, friendly staff. Location is very accessible, close to ladies market and Langham shopping Mall about 7-13 minutes walk. Careful with shower temperature, it changes from warm to hot, Hopefully it will be fixed. Bottled water were placed in refrigerator for convenience but not free HK$4.00 each. Tea and sugar were provided, no coffee. TV has only 1 English channel. Overall, we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
- Gary (10/5): Exelon area - Very nice stay the people nice everybody's nice at his hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel near Nathan Street - This hotel is near the MTR, Nathan Street, and several outdoor street markets. It's also walking distance to a Tim Ho Wan! The staff was pleasant and helpful. Would stay there again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Run of the mill Chinese Hotel with an odd room - A decent but not outstanding hotel. I selected it because of the two beds. The room configurations was really barrow and odd.
Not bad for what I needed, but I can better value at other Hong Kong Hotels.
- Tan (6/5): - Satisfied
- Kristina (6/5): - I expected the place to be really bad as I booked the room 1 day before going to Hong Kong. First I was given a room that was very stingy, it smelt of cigarette smoke, i went to the reception and asked for another room and it was much better. I cant say the hotel is amazing, but if you dont want to spend too much money on rent, then this hotel is good. It is 5 - 7 min away from the Prince Edward station, the area itself looks a bit poor but it is very well linked, and very central. I would probably book this hotel again if i go back to Hong Kong, i think its a good choice overall. :)
- SEE (4/5): Unfriendly staff - Front desk staff Miu doesnt even speak a word to me during check out time. How rude is this attitude. We cant boil water inside the room as it will trigger the smoke sensor. What a let down by this hotel.
- Peter (4/5): Bonsai room - The room ad especially the bathroom is terribly small. As an average height person you can not sit straight on the toilet because the washing basin would not allow and you know your knees. Everything else minimalistic. Check in a hassle. Asked for non smoking room ad adjacent rooms because my 85 y old mum was traveling with us. The receptionist gave us 2 times non adjacent rooms plus smokers rooms. So check in took more than a half hour. The hotel charges for bottled drinking water although it is not safe to drink tab water. Not seen this anywhere in Asia. No toilet in lobby. Sure my first and last stay! Prices super exaggerated for the little you get!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Small - Got this booking as an Expedia Secret "three star hotel." Unfortunately, despite paying a king's ransom for the privilege, the room was tiny and windowless, and the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. I felt sad and resentful.
- Tiffany (4/5): Just enough for a 36 hour business stay... - My family and I stayed in a room for three, a small twin bed and a single bed. Everything in the room was quite old, the beds weren't great, and there wasn't enough room for two people to pass each other without one being on the bed. Definitely don't have a view. Loud movements outside at 3AM, doors and walls are not remotely good at keeping the sound out. One plug in the entire room, two if you disconnect the fridge. Water costs money, and the bathroom is tiny. Barely one person can get into it, and you have to be careful with the door because it's literaly the size of the space in the bedroom alley. You could accidentally hit someone opening the door.
With all that said and done, I personally thought it was one of the oldest and least favorable hotels I've been too but it's okay If all you need is a bed, and you're not there for a holiday. Although the price doesn't justify its quality even if it's already affordably priced.
- robert (6/5): No bar soap or bottle shampoo - Nice if they had bar soap instead of a dispenser with liquid. Only one tv channel in English-no cable networks.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not comfortable stay - Not so comfortable for the stay, especially the poor mattress and the limited room space.
- Elisa (4/5): - Not a great place to stay. Internet not working for the entire time of our stay (2 DAYS). We lost one room key (card) and got charge for 10 dollars Canadian. When we argued there were no Internet connection and they should give us the discount- No. If you need Internet service, this place is not for you!
- Kwok Tai (6/5): Good location - Good price for stay at Mong Kok area
- JARI (6/5): - It seems the hotel was not able to remove guest who wanted to stay in my room.
This is maybe not possible if I have any request they can not make it.
Nearby restaurants seems good, but no breakfast in hotel.
I failed to prove that my guest is pregnant and the business thus failed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Room is small - The room is very small. The toilet is small. After bathe, you unable to towel yourself dry in the toilet, cos it's so small that you can't move too much. You have to come out from the toilet to towel dry. Basin is small. The electrical kettle can't even go in, you have to use the shower to fill up the water.
- Kwok Tai (6/5): Average level hotel - Good price to stay at Mong Kok area
- Kwok Tai (6/5): Average level - Good price
- Wai (6/5): Cheap & .... a cheap stay. - While the price was OK, the rating was dragged down by the tiny size of the room, the awkward location (the MTR station is not far - if you know the way), and relative lack of amenities like restaurants in the area. The reception service was OK, but wasn't brilliant.
- ravi (2/5): Worst hotel in the world - Worst hotel in the
world
- Kwok Tai (6/5): Average level - Average hotel level with good price to stay.
- ISABELLA (6/5): - At the first day, feel not good for the small room..but,air conditioning pretty efficiency & quiet ..bed just right...no noise..feeling better for rest few days :-)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Like that hotel is next to train station and mall. Very helpful, courteous, knowledgeable staffs. Clean and spacious room and closet. Free Wi-Fi. Only thing was on last day no restocking of hand towels and WiFi session ends way too early. I woke up about 5 am and Wi-Fi session already disconnected. Tried reconnecting, says expired. But check isn't til 12pm.
