- Charlotte (10/5): Our hotel in Roma - Villa Duse is our favorite hotel in Rome.
Since 2019, we have stayed here four times.
We love the beautiful and peaceful neighborhood of Parioli, where we mostly encounter locals in the restaurants, supermarkets, and along the charming streets.
Right outside the hotel, we can catch the bus, and within 20 minutes we are at Termini, where we can take the Metro and reach the amazing Roman sights in just 10 minutes.
At this family-owned hotel, we are always greeted with a warm smile, great helpfulness, and enjoy lovely conversations.
We will definitely be coming back.

- Dana (10/5): - We loved this hotel. Off the beaten path in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are lovely with high ceilings and big windows with lots of light. The window shades can be lowered to darken the room nicely. Our bathroom was large with a big tub. It was a little high to get in and would not be accessible, but it was great for a tub soak. And a nice shower.
There are many places to sit outside on a lovely afternoon or evening. The fountains they run at night are nicely lit. Perfect for a glass of wine. They have a nice little bar. You can serve yourself and take things to drink out into the garden spaces. They also have a Nespresso coffee maker set up for on demand coffee you can drink anytime.
The breakfast was great. Lots of choices in breads, cakes, fruit, quiche, yogurt, cereal, juice, meats and cheeses. Breakfast service was great with cappuccino and tea served on request. The breakfast room is cute and intimate.
The staff was very helpful. They spoke English. They helped us find a wonderful restaurant nearby, Molto, we recommend highly. This restaurant was on a strip with several others, and some retail. About a 12 minute walk from the hotel. Very much a local neighborhood.
All in all, it was a lovely stay, and wonderful to return from the busyness of Rome to relax in this quiet place. The only downside is that we had to take a taxi in and out of the city every day, for about $30 a trip. But it was totally worth it.

- Enrique A (10/5): - Everytime we go to Rome we love to stay there, small, beautiful and private, the breakfast made by the owners is wonderful but the best is the special way they welcome and treat you. Leonora and her mother the owners are like angels making you feel special. I love this place!!!

- 885sybilleb (10/5): A wonderful stay - We loved our 5 night stay at Villa Duse. Eleonora was extremely attentive and knowledgable. She gave us excellent tips on the neighbourhood and transport.
The room was very clean and housekeeping was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet especially the scrambled eggs.
Villa Duse is in the lovely Parioli neighbourhood - very green and quiet and within easy reach to Rome center. There are excellent restaurants nearby too.
We loved walking through Rome - a great city to explore by foot. We really enjoyed our daily walks through Villa Borghese Park from the hotel to the center.
Thanks again for making our stay with you a wonderful experience.
- David (9/5): Tranquil experience. Very welcoming hosts. - Fresh and healthy provisions. Well presented and area very clean
- F9197WMlaurab (10/5): A Hidden Gem in Rome – A Perfect Anniversary Stay - Villa Duse was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by the two wonderful women who own and run this charming boutique hotel—a lovely mother and daughter. Their kindness and care made us feel not just like guests, but like family.
The villa itself is cozy, beautiful, and incredibly peaceful—a true sanctuary tucked away from the city’s bustle, yet still close enough to explore all the magic of Rome. Our room was the Penthhouse one, elegant and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made our anniversary stay feel extra special.
Every morning we were treated to a delicious, homemade breakfast that was clearly prepared with love. The fresh pastries, coffee, quiche, and Italian delights were the perfect start to each day.
We were able to walk to so many iconic sites—the Borghese Gallery and Gardens, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and more. Each day felt like a dream, and it was such a joy to return to the calm and charm of Villa Duse after our city adventures.
This was more than just a stay—it was an experience we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming, and tranquil place to stay in Rome, we wholeheartedly recommend Villa Duse.
- Peter (10/5): - The staff was very friendly, rooms were a bit small, and they could use a luggage bench/holder to make luggage access easier. Breakfast was very good and convenient in the morning.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good -
- ecebeydagi (10/5): A week in Villa Duse - The property is a mansion that is later converted into a small hotel. It is managed by a mother and daughters with a very diligent and thoughtful manner. The ambiance throughout is so much in line with the period details, accompanied by the comfort of the our time. It was not just a holiday in Rome, but was like a family visit. So, if you would like to feel at home, that is the place for you.
- Widmer (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): Excellent, highly recommend - We loved our stay. Everything was perfect for us.
- Gabriela (10/5): - The best service and ambiance. Superb management and staff. I would recommend this villa to all my friends and family!
- Cynthia (10/5): Exceptional - We loved Hotel Villa Duse. The staff was so helpful prior to our arrival and during our stay. The room was so unique and perfect for our stay. Highly recommend ❤️
- Evelina (10/5): A wonderful and hidden place in such crowded Rome - Place, area, staff all was beautiful and perfect.
- Marija (10/5): The hosts are incredibly helpful regarding any request you may need during your stay. Great location (away from city cen - Family and friendly atmosphere!
- CNO05 (10/5): Elegant, welcoming and very comfortable - Cannot fault this hotel. From the moment we stepped in we were warmly welcomed and looked after. There is an elegance about this hotel that impressed us greatly. An elegance which is comfortable, friendly and welcoming. The owners could not do enough to help us and they made us feel special and a priority.
The room we had was big, airy, clean, with a really comfortable bed, I can go on and on. Our daughter's favourite part was the breakfast, filled with home-baked delicious cakes, quiche, flans. A lovely well thought out selection, washed down with plenty of espresso!
The area itself is close to lots of restaurants and a good walk (we chose to walk into Rome centre on our first morning as it was gloriously sunny!) via the park to the top of the Spanish steps.
Other times we used taxis to get around. Convenient and cost us around €15 a journey.
Thankyou to Eleonora and her Mum for a wonderful stay.
- Catherine (10/5): Elegance meets down to earth luxury - The hotel.is beautiful, quaint, has personal touches everywhere and the hostess and her mother couldn't do enough for us. Some noise from a toddler in the room.above us. But not the fault of the hotel.
- thais (10/5): - Les chambres sont magnifiques, Éléonore et Maria Rosario sont extrêmement agréables et serviables, excellent petit déjeuner, literie de grande qualité
- Anja (9/5): Very relaxing and comfortable short stay - The area of the hotel is very quiet and calm, it's the perfect escape from the busy and touristy city. It is quite residential, so if you don't mind a lovely walk to / from the city (about 45 minutes each way) every now and again, then it's a great option to discover a different and more relaxed side of Rome. Try the nearby cafes for a real local's experience! There is also a frequent bus that can get you to the city in 20 minutes, so very convenient too, and we used it often as it was raining!
The hotel itself is just amazing, very beautiful and secure building, well maintained garden, and the interior is very elegant and classy. It has an elevator, which is a plus. The room was very clean (and cleaned everyday) and the bathroom was extra spacious and offered most of the hotel necessities / products for our extended weekend stay.
While we didn't get a chance to interact much with the staff (we were leaving early to explore and returning back to the hotel quite late), we did get to speak to them at check-out and I instantly felt that they were very friendly, welcoming and warm. They kept our luggage safe all day as we had a late return flight. Nothing to add.
- Anne (7/5): Good -
- Domenico (10/5): - Ottima esperienza . Buonissima colazione .
- 919warrickm (10/5): Great service, warm welcome and friendly staff - In Rome for business and stayed at Villa Duse for two nights. The hotel is in a very quiet spot, peaceful in the evening but a 10 minute stroll away from a lively area with good restaurants. The room was large with high ceilings. Comfy bed. Bathroom was good with nice products from Ortigia.
The best thing about the stay was the incredibly helpful and friendly team. Nothing was too much trouble arranging taxis, recommending places to eat and updating me by WhatsApp.
Would 100% recommend and hope to stay again on a future trip.
- Peyo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcela (9/5): Romantic escape in Rome, beautiful walks through Villa Borghese and Cafes - Breakfast was continental and they were able to cater to our dietary needs. We did inform ahead of time. There was not as much variety as we experienced in other locations would be the only down side We found the room a little small and that was not easily discernible from the photos. However the rooms were wonderfully decorated and spacious bathroom. It was hard to regulate the AC temperature and we found it too warm. The staff informed that we are not able to regulate our own room and the hotel was set to 23 degrees. That was too warm for us in the summer.
- Minianne (10/5): Perfect for a few days in Rome - Beautiful, small hotel with the most charming and extremely helpful (mother and daughter) owners. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed with good bed linen. Delicious breakfast. Set outside the busy city centre, it was a pleasure at the end of each day to return to the hotel’s calmness.
- Jeff (10/5): - Hotel Villa Duse was a wonderful boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood in Rome. The staff was excellent and so helpful with dinner recommendations, organizing transportation, etc. I loved their breakfast in the morning. This was my first trip to Rome. I loved it!
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, small hotel with the most charming and extremely helpful (mother and daughter) owners. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed with good bed linen. Delicious breakfast. Set outside the busy city centre, it was a pleasure at the end of each day to return to the hotel’s calmness. Nothing
- Q1406AQvictorial (8/5): Enjoyed our stay at the Villa Duse in Rome - We had a lovely sty at Villa Duse. The property is beautiful and well maintained and located in an easy distance to the city centre. Our Red Room Suite was very spacious and included a large terrace. The hotel staff, in particular manager Elenora were extremely helpful, gracious and professional. The breakfast was delicious with many choices.
- Erik (10/5): - The hotel is a little out of city central, but that is what we liked. There was always plenty of public transport and when we were done for the day we could come back to a nice quiet neighborhood. The Borghese Gardens were beautiful, just make sure to bring your walking shoes.
- Panicos (9/5): Superb -
- christophertE123AI (10/5): How to relax visiting Rome - Villa Duce is a lovely family run hotel. Our Tower room was delightful, we effectively had our very own peaceful penthouse. The area is nice and quiet providing a very relaxing environment. The family crew could not be more helpful. Staying outside central Rome allows one to visit all the historic sites but relax away from the hustle bustle in the evening. With a number of good restaurants nearby it is an ideal location.
- Amanda (10/5): Lovely hotel - The tower room was perfect. Very private. Excellent breeze with the windows open. The private balcony is a nice place to relax. No screens on the windows and there are mosquitos in Rome :(
- Kym (9/5): Lovely Eleanora was extremely helpful and went above and beyond - Small and intimate
- Mario (10/5): Incredible stay! - Great service, wonderful staff.!The area is quiete and safe to walk with many good restaurants within walking distance.
- Juliana (8/5): Very good -
- Ms Evora (10/5): - Owned by a local family, Villa Duse is an elegant 19th century house with traditional features, antiques, and polished marble floors. Situated in Parioli, an affluent suburb only 15 minutes taxi from Termini (20mins by bus), this sophisticated property is an ideal base when visiting Rome.
The outdoor area of the villa is very secure, quiet, and private with comfortable seating - the perfect place to relax with a ‘Spritz’ or a cold beer following a busy day sightseeing. Although the property does not offer dinner, there are local restaurants within walking distance.
Our sleep quality was excellent with zero noise. The bedrooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean, our room opened onto a beautiful private terrace.
Breakfast is continental in style and plentiful. Hot cooked alternatives are also available. Eleonora and her mum are wonderful hosts who go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. I recently returned to Villa Duse, it is consistently good. The perfect boutique option for a memorable stay in Rome.
