• Christian (6/5): - This is advertised as a 4-star, but I would say it is at best a good 3-star by European standards. Somewhat dated, with water stain in ceiling of my room. Great individual AC. Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Breakfast options are limited, but some variation from day to day. In general very clean, except plates, cups and cutlery at breakfast, which all had remains from previous meals. Apparently just a quick wash in bar sink.

• Melissa (8/5): - Hotellino was a lovely place to stay. It’s a short hop over to Sirkeci train station and the tram line, making it super easy to get around Istanbul. The properly itself was quite dated, and could use some renovations although it was perfectly fine for a few nights in the city. The rooms were on the smaller side. The breakfast was very simple, and delicious. Only shower gel and shampoo were provided, bring all other toiletries. There is a resident cat named Sofia who was super cute.

We met and received help / guidance from at least 3 members of staff. And all were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Unusual for English people I’d say. But delicious and different. Location was perfect. On a quieter street but a stones throw from many restaurants and shops. And a very short walk to Tram and transport hub. A short stroll to the beautiful park and many main attractions. Perfect stay for us. Thank you so very much xx

They helped us out with getting the taxi booked to the airport and the taxi arrived on time and no issues at all. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the hotel. It is the perfect location to several sights and public transportation. There are also loads of restaurants and shops in the area.

• Birgit (10/5): - Zeynep and her staff made this a wonderful first experience in Istanbul. Everyone is very helpful. The hotel is not fancy, but the room has wood floors and it is very clean. The breakfast every morning had a variety of delicious options. The location itself has lots of restaurants and the train station, metro, street car and ferry are all close by to explore the city. I highly recommend this hotel.

Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. It is also close to the harbour and spice bazaar. Surrounded by restaurants and bars, for the money it’s great value

We knew we had chosen the right place to stay when our Taxi driver got lost on the way to the hotel...a member of staff walked to pick us up further down the road..helping us with our luggage down the busy road. • Abdirizak (10/5): - My family and I have stay at this hotel a few times. Hotellino is in the perfect location. Right behind Gulhane park and within walking distance to most of the attractions. The staff is very friendly. The only issue we had was the hotel rooms are quite small for a family. If you are a solo traveller its fine. But if you have a child with you, it’s a bit small. Overall, it’s a good hotel. 9/10

This is my third trip to Turkey and the best hotel for a stay in a colourful, interesting city. I am so glad i found Hotellino as this would be my choice again for the future.. From the first email to arrange airport transfers to checking out , everything was seemless and no trouble to staff , at no extra hidden costs. I totally understand the reviews already made by travellers and can vouch for their authenticity.
• Ali (2/5): NOT RECOMMENDED - worst visit to Istanbul, bed and pillow is horrible, the staff is not friendly, the breakfast is so limited, its kinda far away from the metro station, the room cleanness is so bad, overall not RECOMMENDED !!!
• Verified traveler (4/5): Good service, not so good overall maintenance - The hotel itself was run down for a four star hotel. The room was falling apart, and although repairs were made as soon as we informed the receptionist, it was disappointing that the room was in such a state. Furthermore, the room was incredibly small despite it being a booking for three people. The view was not very interesting either. The breakfast buffet was not very appealing either and so despite paying for bed and breakfast, we preferred eating breakfast at the local restaurants and cafes nearby. Taxis did have a hard time finding the hotel at times, which isn't the hotels fault however it was an inconvenience at times. However, what made this hotel bearable was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and very helpful in recommending places to eat, places to see and booking tours and taxis for us. The location is also very ideal for prime tourist areas and the local shops sell great stuff at much cheaper prices than the grand bazaar and spice bazaar. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily rate the hotel very highly but if you plan on being out and about most of your stay, the hotel isn't too bad.

• Mick (10/5): Hotellino Istanbul - We were there for 6 days - quite a long stay. We saw most of the places we wanted to. Hotellino Istanbul was an excellent base. Excellent breakfast - especial thanks to the lady who prepared it. Mr Tuna and other staff were very helpful in giving advice where to go, airport shuttles, etc. Location - the walls of the Topkapi are visible 50 metres away and Eminonu with its boats is 5 minutes walk. Good restaurants nearby in Hoca Pasa street. Very pleasant stay at this hotel. Clean. Modern. We had a good time and would not hesitate to go back to this hotel.

Apart from being comfortable, friendly staff, being clean & having a central location, the manager Tuna and the front desk executives were very helpful in providing information. They were not at all those kind of people who dupe foreigners to book any tour through them. I did check rates with other agencies and the price the hotel quote to book any tour is almost equivalent or may be less. So, if you want to book any tour or hammam, cab etc.you can do it freely through them. Overall a very good experience!!

• Maxime (10/5): Great stay from A to Z - Location is right in the center of Istanbul. 5-10 min. walk to all the sights. Two tram stations nearby. We were very well greeted on arrival with tea and juice. There is an elevator to the room which is clean and newly renovated. The Wifi signal was perfect. In the morning, the breakfast in generous, varied and suited for all tastes. Again the staff is very friendly. They recommended lower price parking and restaurants which were not "tourist traps". They offered a gift when we left and arranged for transportation to the airport for only 5 euros!

Perfectly situated in Istanbul's most popular areas, it's in a quite street and gives you the best of both worlds. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was provided, and the staff were courteous and friendly and really helped us figure out travel routes and to make bookings for local events. There are shops and restaurants very close by and it is very easy to get to from the tram stops. I'd be very happy to recommend Hotellino to anyone wanting to visit Istanbul.

The staff and owners are wonderful, nothing is ever too much trouble and its in a great location, within easy walking distance to everything and the metro and tram lines. A great place to stay for exploring the delights of Istanbul.

They would reset it when told that its not working but still it wouldnt work sometimes. Theres no room service but on the hotel.com page it said room service( limited hours) The breakfast was amazing. The staff helps you out in tours, ways, maps, attractions and stuff. Reception guy gave me a metro card free and at the check out time asked me to keep it for memories.

Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Basilica Cistern, Galata Bridge are all walking distance away. The hotel is family run and have the most helpful staff. Staff are always at hand to provide information about any particular location or on recommendations of things to do. Rooms are very clean. Wifi works in rooms and is free. I would highly recommend this hotel to any one who is traveling to Istanbul on a holiday.

As it was a corner room,the brightness of the street lights made the room very bright at night because of which we couldn't get good sleep. Staff were very helpful & friendly. • Michael (10/5): Cozy and close but away from the tourist horde - Great breakfast. Owner visited with us every day to see how we were doing. Lots of travel suggests. Provided Istanbulcart that we would load up to use on trams, metro and ferry. Minutes away from all sites, metro, tram, and ferries.
• FJLC (8/5): Good value - Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It was a good value as it was situated at a prime location that is close to the Eminonu pier (for Bosphorus cruise tour) and major tourist attractions such as Topkapi Palace. Got a room on the 4th floor. The room was nice and well maintained except there were some stains between the tiles in the bathroom, but that didn't bother us too much. It could be a bit noisy in early morning you can hear the noise from the street. The free breakfast was great, and the waiter provided attentive service. Our room came with 6 bottles of water daily. That can save you at least 6 TL per day. Front desk staff was helpful in providing local tour info and helped book the shuttle to the airport (20 TL per person to IST). If you have 2 people in your party, this option is cheaper than taking the taxi (~50 TL).

• Jennifer (10/5): Great value hotel in Istanbul - We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location near all the major sites, welcoming staff, comfortable and clean rooms and a great breakfast.
• Naved (10/5): Excellent hospitality! Great Location ! - Every single staff member we interacted with at Hotellino was very helpful. Special mention for Arkan (breakfast chef who made our 2 year old daughter feel welcome every single morning). They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The owners (couple) really know how to keep their guests happy. I have no doubts recommending this place to family and friends.
• Brenda and Bill (10/5): A wonderful week in beautiful Istanbul - Istanbul is a vibrant city. Our stay was enhanced through Hotellino. Hotellino is on a quiet side street close to everything we wanted to visit. The staff and owners were knowledgeable and friendly. They helped us book trips on the Bosporus and a day trip to Bursa.

Lovely lady Mina always gave me good advices for transportation, food, where to go as it was my fifth Istanbul visit. I really had great time! I definitely come back again!

• Sue (8/5): Great staff, great location and personal hotel - Client relations staff- Tuna was there to advice as I had a one extra day stay in the old town of Istanbul. Some aspect of the room could be slightly cleaner but my stay was not affected.
• JYinDC (8/5): Owner makes all the difference! - This hotel is right in the middle of the cultural/tourist part of Istanbul, which makes taking short breaks during the day feasible. It's also close to several public transportation lines and easy walk to the pier, which also makes exploring further out very easy. The rooms are pretty standard. But what sets this hotel apart is the owner/hostess. She's so friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely talk to her and she will help you plan your day and give you tips on the best way to get somewhere or things you shouldn't miss. She made this trip so much easier and more fun. Amenities include free wifi, free breakfast that is pretty good, and free bottles of water. I would definitely stay there again next time in Istanbul.

• saman (8/5): Perfect location, walkable to everything! - Very comfortable hotel in the perfect location. Walk to all the sites, transportation, and to the other side of the river in minutes. The staff was super helpful, especially the owner, who took care in giving us great recommendations. Breakfast was very good as well! Would definitely stay again!
• David (10/5): Great stay! - We stayed at the Hotellino in the middle of August and couldn't have been more happy. While the rooms where a little small by US standards they were certainly in line with European hotels. The location was great, in the center of everything in the old town but on a street that wasn't crazy busy. What really made this place great was the people, from the owners who came over at breakfast (which was very good) every morning to chat and give us advice on the things we were doing that day to the desk staff who helped with anything we needed. Overall a great stay!
