• Virginia (10/5): Comfy well located characterful hostel - Loved the character of the building location excellent just off the Finchley Road. Comfortable beds great nights sleep. Free tea everywhere and free coffee in the bar. Staff in the bar very approachable and kind. Highly recommend. Just be aware, the kitchen is tiny but people still managed to cook. Two fridges and clever use of space so you can still store your food items

• Dr Laryssa (8/5): Very nice mansion home - I had a delayed flight and arrived after midnight. The desk offers 24 hour service and they were able to accommodate my delay. The mansion itself is gorgeous. Nicest hostel in which I have stayed. Strong WiFi. I requested an all female room which was provided. What I did not realize was that the bathrooms on the floor are COED shared. The showers have a lock so I felt safe. However, in my hostel experience they usually segregate the floors by male/female and then have one coed floor. I did not like that literally only the bedrooms were female only.

• melissa (8/5): - The rooms are well organized and well lit, the staff is very friendly, and it has a small kitchen and laundry facilities which I think is great. It's clean, but it could be even cleaner. It's a bit noisy downstairs because there's a restaurant/bar there, and they play music and do other things, and some guests are very loud and woke me up several times. The kitchen is lacking cutlery. I would prefer that next time I don't get the bed near the entrance, as people sometimes come in talking and wake me up.

Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Gli asciugacapelli disponibili ovunque per non disturbare i compagni di stanza. La possibilità di custodire i bagagli anche oltre il check-out. Il bagno in camera è troppo piccolo, non ci sono appendini nelle stanze per i cappotti ed i bauli sotto il letto sono poco pratici e rumorosi. Davvero poco spazio per riporre le proprie cose.

• Briana (10/5): Great hostel! - Cleanest hostel I’ve been in, great shared areas and facilities. Staff friendly, close to supermarkets, post office, tube and bus stations. Would definitely recommend. Great for couples. Planned activities most nights of the week but our room was quiet. The unserved storage wasn’t very big. They did have lockers downstairs but they were £6 per 24 hours for a large locker (big enough for one large suitcase and one smaller backpack). Kitchen was small but still well equipped and clean.

• Celestin (5/5): Bonne auberge, mais c'est une auberge - L'auberge propose effectivement tout ce dont vous avez besoin, elle est super bien localisée Le lit était trop petit, le deuxième étage du lit en hauteur difficile d'accès, la lumière de la chambre bien au-dessus du lit. Petit commentaire sur la personne qui dormait en dessous, qui puait la mort et l'alcool. On peut fermer les yeux, mettre des écouteurs, mais je n'ai pas trouver le moyen de ne pas respirer. Pour tout dire, l'auberge est excellente mais mon expérience a été infernale.

O local é próximo a estações de metrô importantes, supermercados e cafés; há atividades todos os dias no hostel para os visitantes e as áreas em comum são muito confortáveis. O quarto é ótimo, organizado e a cama em que ficamos (de casal) é ótima.

• 745hannea (8/5): Consistently great! - Palmer's Lodge is my go-to hostel on my annual trip to London. The building is charming, the rooms and bathrooms are kept clean, the staff is helpful, and the breakfast buffet is good value for money. This year, the lovely lady taking care of the breakfast buffet was especially nice, my compliments to her! Having tried several rooms over the years, some rooms and floors are nicer than others though. Personally, I'm not a fan of the basement rooms. All in all, Palmers Lodge has been consistently great in the past 10 years!

• Martin (7/5): Plush, comfortable and just about affordable for someone with little or no income. - I liked the comfort, the quiet, the interior and the breakfast. The large lounge was a bonus and the location was fine, just a bit of trek from where I needed to be, still the walk did me good. Stairs needed cleaning but that's all.

• Kinga (9/5): Solid hostel experience - Great location, plenty of lockers to rent before/after check out, super nice helpful staff too. Building itself is lovely, the curtains on the bed help block out the light and get better sleep. Kitchen small but manageable. Everything mostly clean and regularly cleaned, apart from maybe next to the beds. Depending on what you expect from a hostel, it could be either amazing or slightly annoying. Bar hosts events almost every evening, including karaoke nights, and the rooms are right next door. It’s not the worst but definitely not a quiet place. Not a big fan of the shower heads, bathrooms in the basement didn’t have any hairdryers (shown in pictures - probably on other floors). Unfortunately the toilets were utterly disgusting in the morning but that’s more on people than the hostel, it was all cleaned up later. Kitchen was missing utensils (at least basic spoons/forks/ anything would be nice) and the kettle is in desperate need of descaling. All in all, it’s not perfect, but good for the price, especially in London. Just maybe ask for placement upstairs, not in the basement.

The place is really comfortable and workers are nice. Rooms are fine, but a bit hot during the nights. Didn't use all services available, but it really had everything it advertised. • tessabutler03 (10/5): Relaxed and Sociable! - I stayed here for the first time a couple of days ago. It was also the first time staying in this part of London. The building is amazing! Lots of history to explore. Dorms were pretty much as you'd expect. The bunks were comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. The highlight for me were the bar, bar staff, and fellow hostel goers. It's a very sociable but relaxed hostel (on a Monday anyway!) Lovely atmosphere and great little outdoor space too. I only stayed one night so I missed chilling in the amazing looking lounge. Will definitely return!

• tinamR449FK (4/5): Dirty bed sheet - I didn't arrive at the hostel until late at night. It was good that the front desk was open 24 hours a day. Check-in went smoothly. However, when I got to my room, the bed was a mess. There was a torn candy wrapper on the mattress, and the sheets were covered in dirt.
