Guest Reviews
- Fuad (4/5): Beautiful hotel with POOR SERVICE - The hotel receptionist was unfriendly and unhelpful upon our arrival, providing blunt and dismissive answers. When we inquired about breakfast, she curtly informed us that none was available, even for an additional charge, as the hotel was apparently in the process of shutting down and operating with minimal services. We requested a kettle, but this was also declined.
The room lacked basic amenities such as bathroom items (e.g., toothbrush, shaving kit), an iron, or a fridge. For the price we paid, the experience felt subpar and disappointing. While the building itself boasts a lot of character and the location is undeniably picturesque, these were the only redeeming qualities of our stay.
- Kevin (6/5): - nice area, very easy to get to city bus bus. check in was problematic. there was no one at desk and someone from kitchen had to do our check in. she tried, but didn't really know how to do the check in. the room was good, but the water had a hard time getting up to a good temp and the pressure was low.
- Katherine (6/5): - Very easy to use the public bus to get around town and there were multiple bus stops in the immediate area. Area was quaint around the property but unfortunately the property itself was a little run-down.
- Cassidy (6/5): Cute not comfy - The vibe was so fun! However the beds and pillow were not comfy. If you decide to stay here bring your own pillow.
- Stephen (10/5): - We would come back! A great home style hotel surrounded by Alps!👍
- Angela (6/5): - This is an older property. There isnt any AC but the windows were large and tilted to allow air flow. The restaurant was good but we didnt get told that kitchen was closing so werent able to order desert.
Rooms have actual keys instead of swipe carss.
- William (10/5): - The person was the manager was very helpful and tell family and friends to stay there
- David (6/5): Terrible service - The property was average but the service in the restaurant was terrible
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very old building with no vibe.
Rooms not clean, stained carpet, no kettle to make a drink.
- Shaina (2/5): - We did not have a good experience.
- Pierre (10/5): - Very nice traditional hotel in the outskirts of Salzburg. Friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast is a treat.
- Andrew (8/5): - Breakfast is very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet homey place, right by bus 21 stop. Very few restaurants or grocery in the area though. Very safe, lots of family staying.
- Daniel (10/5): - Very nice rooms - larger than normal German Gasthof accommodations. Very good in-house restaurant, garden, and other nearby eating options. No shower curtain was a bit difficulty, but manageable. Our shower drain was slow to drain, but we are sure that was fixed after our two day stay. Very good front desk. We walked to a nearby Chinese restaurant in 5 minutes - very good
- Fabian (8/5): It was okay - It was okay. Close to public transportation. Restaurant was nice. Service was good there.
- Fabian (8/5): It was okay - I arrived to the hotel about 30 minutes before check in time. I went up to the receptionist to ask him a question and he greeted me rudely. He didn't even look at me, he kept staring at his computer. Luckily when 3pm hit there was a new young lady there who was nicer. She helped me find a laundromat in town where I can do my own laundry. I also had dinner downstairs and the waitress was fantastic. She did provide excellent customer service. The hotel is not bad for the price overall. Conveniently located next to a bus stop. It serves it's purpose. Clean safe place to stay.
- Michaela (6/5): - Overall okay, ice apparently wasn’t on the extra charge list and so it was given, sometimes begrudgingly and the tip refused. The worst was that internet connection wasn’t reliable. We kept getting kicked off randomly and sometimes couldn’t reconnect unless we went down to lobby. Didn’t like that part.
- Samir (8/5): Decent - The hotel is in a 350-year-old building. They have done and are still doing plenty of renovations towards modernization. From that point of view, it was pretty decent.
- Bharat (4/5): - The lift/elevator doesnt go to Room 301. It goes to 4th floor and then one has to climb stairs to reach the room 301, which is on 5th floor.
The Wifi signal inside the room is uncertain only at the main door signal okay, inside mostly not there.
No liquid soap in shower all 3 days we stayed.
The soap bars quality is poor and not provided the next day
Cleaning vacuming not done next day, sink not cleaned next day. Had to request.
Somehow the ambient outside temperatures are higher, They were nice to provide a FAN, which was excellent.
The charging points require major improvement. There are only two power points, one connected to fan and remaining one for charging the phones, laptop. It will be better to provide a power strip of at least 4 power points.
No Tea/Coffee or Hot Water Kettle provided in the room.
- Brian (4/5): - Needs a refresh, no air conditioning so the room was stifling, had to move out after the first day even though I paid for 3 nights with no refund. Food quality was mediocre. One review stated that the burger was not to be missed but the burger I got was dry and tasteless.
- Akil (2/5): - Be aware this a very creepy house.
Its not a hotel its rarher trap and a scam
Im not sure how they list this property as a hotel
- Ben (10/5): - Very nice quiet hotel very authentic
- Hong (10/5): - Perfect hotel,I like it
- Darshil (2/5): - Unfriendly and rude
- WEI (10/5): - Clean and friendly staff
2 euros ?!?!????
- Vladislava (10/5): - Front desk provided information on how to get to Salzburg without a car. Sold us public transit tickets, bus stop just behind the hotel, very convenient. Nice friendly people, family atmosphere.
- Pedro (8/5): - Great breakfast!
- Chester (10/5): - Excellent service and great room! We loved it here!
- Jinyan (2/5): - Nothing good
- Lesia (4/5): - Quiet surroundings. However, the front desk people were not the friendliest.
- Lynda (10/5): - Nice quiet area but close to Salzburg. Room was huge and very comfortable. Easy access to highway and surrounding areas.
- Reni (10/5): - It is an older property but very traditional Austrian/German, which I like. If you expect new and modern, don’t stay here. This hotel has history and charm and is located next to an old grain barn and out a bit. However it’s located in a nice little enclave of homes right across from a bus stop. A short drive to the city center. The price was excellent as was the location, the restaurant and the staff. I highly recommend if you want a good price and a clean older hotel.
- Jerry (4/5): - We wanted a place outside of Salzburg and this location is a very short drive to Salzburg. There is a grocery store closeby.
The outside of the hotel was nice and the hotel entrance.
Unfortunately, our hotel room has a terrible smell. Kinda like wet carpet and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Our room was above the restaurant where there was an abundance of smokers. We had to keep our windows closed which made the room very hot and uncomfortable.
Not going back.
- jimfC8622LE (8/5): Country charm - The hotel was conveniently located and very charming. It is a warm summer this year but good air flow cooled things off nicely at night. Breakfast was well worth the extra money. This isn't a big city modern hotel.
Be prepared, no a/c. Chill out and enjoy the country atmosphere. A decent stay!!
- Donna (10/5): - Off the beaten path. Nice place, nice staff.
- Mark (6/5): - A 12 minute drive from downtown Salzberg. Quaint, older hotel with lots of charm.
- Gordon (4/5): - Sadly, I was very disappointed all round. The advertising of the property was quite deceiving. It's a very very old property and run down. I have experienced a number of hotels on my journey through Germany and honestly, this was by far the worst hotel I've stayed in to date. Facilities were poor, breakfast was poor WiFi was poor. I'm not recommending this hotel.
- Demetrio (10/5): - The receptionist was very friendly and made feel so welcome! We definitely will stay there again.
- Norman (10/5): - Perfect for individuals or families traveling in and around Salzburg.
- Adam (4/5): - The room smelled funny the entire time we were there. There is absolutely no air conditioning, and it was a hot a miserable 2 days. While the staff did speak English which was nice, there were not helpful or courteous. There was nonice machine, but thats common for Europe. The bar downstairs was loud until midnight each night and we were on the top floor so you know it was loud.
- Jayne (2/5): Very basic! - I will be complaining to hotel .com about this hotel. On our arrival, one of the rooms had a sewerage/drains smell. I complained and to be fair they changed the room. We were booked for 3 nights but left after the worst nights sleep on what can only be described as hostel beds/rooms. This is the most basic hotel room ive ever stayed in. Next morning there wasnt any hot wzter for washing. I believe it heated up later but was dependent on how many were using the facikities. Finally we were hungry so purchased a meal in the restaurant as a last resort. The food was ok but extremely expensive. We movec to salzburg and stayed in a same grade hotel but with far superior facilities. The Brauwirth shoukd be a 2* max. The meals we ate in the centre of salzburg in 4* restaurants etc were the same or in one case cheaper than the meals at this very disappointing hotel.
- Edward J. (10/5): friendly and helpful - They were very friendly and helpful. They had a nice breakfast buffet. They helped us with our laundry.
- Craig (8/5): - Easy, short bus ride into Salzburg. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Great place to visit Salzburg.
- Richard (8/5): - Overall was good. My only complaint is that the bed mattress needs replacing.
- Erika (4/5): - No fan, very hot small muggy room
- Holy_Innocent (6/5): Good value but hospitality lacking - Overall, it is a good place to stay for the price with basic amenities and simple rooms. Hotel food is good and best service there. While location is actually good with convenient bus connection into Salzburg directly in front of the property, it is a little difficult to find when driving from the autobahn. I don't understand why the hotel can't give precise instructions on how to find them being in a hidden street and even hidden from view from their own road ... such as "Drive x kms off A2 away from Salzburg, then at the BP gas station traffic circle take the 2nd exit onto X road, drive 100 meters to the first street on the left" (or similar). Even the front of the hotel is hard to see and the front door is not at all visible from the road.
Anyway ... front desk really needs to learn about hospitality ... plus during the day they are OFTEN not around having to wait for someone to come or beg restaurant staff to find someone to help at front desk ... even just to get room key.
Note ... no air conditioning in hot summer months and window only opens a crack so hard to get some cooler air at night. Very little English TV (2 news channels).
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - The stay was ok, but receptionist Thomas was not very friendly at all. Pillows were very soft and uncomfortable. Towels need to be replaced. Restaurant was nice and food was very good.
- WILLIAM (10/5): - The property is located in a small community and it is on a convenient bus route, just outside of Salzburg.
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful - Beautiful place , leeks like home
- Randall (10/5): Quiet value - This is a great location close to everything but not in the heavy traffic area
- TRK147 (10/5): Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten - The hotel itself is nice but THE FOOD !!! My god, the chefs organic burger and the accompanying spiced potato wedges are something else. By far the best burger I’ve ever eaten, seriously. The mixed salad was supreme and beats anything Austria has to offer too. Absolute sensational and worth coming just to eat. The whole menu looks amazing. Will be back again for sure.
- Rubin B. (10/5): Perfect for a short stay in Salzburg - It was a perfect commute distance from Salzburg old city centre. Good public transport, friendly staff, clean rooms and picturesque area in Bergheim, just outside Salzburg. (20 minutes by public transport)
- Tracy (6/5): Pros don’t compensate for cons - We had a spacious room on the top floor. The bed was olay. The location of the hotel is convenient to Salzburg and there is a decent restaurant on the main floor. However, all these favorable points couldn’t make up for the problems. There was a constant sewage odor in the bathroom that required us to keep the window open all the time if we didn’t want to smell it in our room. Our room was not cleaned the first day of our stay and on the second day they did not clean it until after 4;00, when we had already returned from a full day in the city. The first staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful, but the next person staffing the desk was probably the rudest we have ever interacted with. The curtain on the bathroom window only covers half the window, leaving one to feel on full display, especially at night. There was no AC, so we had to choose between being hot or having bugs from the open windows. The nightly rate was relatively inexpensive so I guess we got what we paid for.
- William (10/5): Very happy with the place. - Sfaff was extremely courteous and helpful. Food was also very good. Would stay again.
- IBRAHEEM (4/5): bad experiance in salsburg - no air condition in the room and not friendly
- Verified traveler (6/5): Do NOT book a standard room. So hot, noisy & tiny - Had 2 nights one a lovely room the 2nd in a Standard. Do NOT book a standard. Hot, noisey, tiny & very uncomfortably bed. No sleep 😡
- Alan (10/5): - This is a wonderful traditional style German hotel - a beautiful building, pleasant out-door seating area and lovely old furniture in the public areas. It has free parking and good wifi, the room was spacious and quiet. The rooms are not air-conditioned and it was very hot when I stayed but the room was still relatively comfortable. The only real criticism is that breakfast is relatively expensive at 12.50 euro and, unusually for a German hotel, the coffee was rather bitter. All in all, I would certainly stay here again.
- Mariel (10/5): - Perfect hotel to stay with family and with a little one. Very beautiful bar, good breakfast. Helpfull and nice workers. Room was clean and spacious. I recomended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely spacious old hotel, very close to Salzburg yet quiet and calm. Fab breakfast, good parking, friendly staff. Brilliant value. Bus stop outside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful old building. Spacious room. Easy parking. Very close to Salzburg. Excellent value.
- deepaanoop (8/5): Read reviews before deciding on this hotel - As others have written the hotel has an old world charm. Its far away from the citys hustle and bustle. We were there during 2018-2019 New year and few hotels were available for our large family.
Hotel staff especially one of them was very rude and partially racist. Others were pleasant.
Rooms are nice and very comfortable. However there was no fridge, hot water kettle basic amenities in most hotels these days (and we as offcials travel to many many hotels). So for the cost of room, this was disappointing. Their restaurant is also not fully functional (maybe due to new year, not sure but this is what we were told) and being far from town this is very inconvenient.
the hotel is very close to bus stop and drivers of bus 21 are very very nice and the bus is very predictable on time (Austrian precision). So we could go into town.
Hotel is adviced to do some cultural sensitivity training for staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, quiet for an overnight stay. Food was good in the restaurant.
- Linda (10/5): - This is a charming hotel. The breakfast was great. The staff was helpful and friendly.
- MayaF_11 (2/5): Be aware!!! Smoking is permitted in the hotel! - We saw this hotel at the last minute, it was sold as ‘good value for money’, with some good and some bad reviews, and since all other hotels were fully booked we figured ‘how bad could it be?’.
Apparently, it can be pretty bad!
We booked it through Agoda, and it said it included breakfast, and that I would be charged at the property. When I got the confirmation email, breakfast was no longer included and I was charged immediately 😒.
We got to the hotel and on the way to the room we saw people smoking in the bar inside the facility- apparently, it is acceptable to smoke in the hotel (just not in the rooms, and that is the reason they claim to have a policy of not smoking in the rooms- as if the smoke is not everywhere).
Needless to say, the entire hotel smelled like cigarettes (including the rooms, although we were on the 2nd floor). When I asked the receptionist regarding this issue he was very rude, came up to the room and said that there is no smell and that I don’t know what I’m talking about and made fun of me.
In the morning, I knew exactly when the cook arrived because then the room smelled like cigarettes again, and afterwards it smelled like the food they served.
Needless to say, I won’t be back and unless you are a smoker, I hope you could find a better place to spend the night....
- Hugh (8/5): A nice country location - A nice place to stay, although a bit of a drive to the city. Staff were friendly, nice patio are for a drink or meal. Good breakfast.
- Keith (10/5): A great find. - Friendly and helpful staff. Very good room and hotel. Enjoyable stay. Food very good both evening and breakfast.
- tomislavrezek (2/5): Really bad - My company booked me superior room in hotel. I was really surprised when i saw room. In reservation paper room looked totally differnet And no WI-FI. I asked them if this is superior room and receptionist said that hotel manager changed my reservation on his own behalf. I demand to talk with manager and waited for him in lobby ( WI-Fi worked there ) for 40 minutes and he didnt come. In room was really hot and there was no air conditioning ( i didnt expect one ) so i take a walk. I returned in 2 hours and receptionist said that they checked my room and they agree that there is no
WI-FI. And they didnt do nothing. Best things in that hotel was that i stayed for only one day
- sharon m. (8/5): Charming Hotel - This is a great place to stay if you want to get out of the city a bit-a charming hotel with comfortable beds—close
To a bus pick up—however there is no air conditioning so it was hot-also no iron. The food in the cafe was very good—especially their roast beef and dumplings!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had an issue with our booking but The receptionist was very very helpful
Calm and nice area
Beds not that comfy
- john (8/5): - The hotel was very good ,no complaints.Bus to centre of city stops less than 100 meters from hotel
- ljubisagavric (2/5): !!!! - Not good at all. Staff is completely non professional ! Room was horrible, no air condition, no fan, no fridge, full of bugs!! Since I am the person who doesn't eat breakfast but still I want coffee I was waiting everymorning for 30 minutes for coffee in hotel bar !! Wifi is not working in rooms... I will not go back never again !!!!
- Heitor (10/5): Great! - Great! Served the purpose of our trip, parking located right in front of the hotel. Didn't have AC, but thankfully it wasn't incredibly hot outside.
- Hannah (6/5): - The front desk staff weren’t polite, and kept us waiting upon check in.
- mamduhm (2/5): PLEASE DON'T GO THERE!!!! - horrible stay, uncomfortable rooms, bad odors from WC, non professional staff, the guy at the reception should take course in hospitality.
bugs and insects, I couldn't sleep at all during night due to hot weather and insects!!!
no air condition and even no fan
far away from center
- reichwald1 (8/5): Full of Character - This is an historic hotel/guesthouse as part of it was built in 1667. It is located 15 minutes by bus from Salzburg station. The scenery is beauitful and Gasthof has a real old world charm to it.
Cons:
1. Few public facilities
2. Initially hard to find
3. No shops
4. No fridge
5. No coffee or tea making facilities
6. Nothing to see in the immediate area
7. All menus only in German
Pros
1. Lovely old world charm
2. Reception most helpful
3. Good sized room
4. Good bathroom
5. Balcony
6. Quiet and relaxing environment
7. Lovely dining room
8. Good breakfast in lovely breakfast room
9. Bus stop very close. Beware. The bus 120 you take from the station is not the closest to the hotel but is the only bus from the station. Once you arrive the staff will advise that the local bus closest to the hotel (21) will get you into the city but not the station.
10. Excellent food
11. Really well maintained and managed to Austrian precision
In summary, good value for money and great charm make this hotel/guesthouse special. Not the most convenient to Salzburg, but worth the effort
- generationmum (6/5): Rural salzburg - Three night stay in July. No aircon or fan so balcony door had to be left open as it was hot. Our room had a view of the neighbours place and up the hill. Check in ok, check out not so good as we had to wait for someone to return so we could finalise bill and missed our bus. I don't understand why there is not other staff trained up to be able to check out quests. Hotel old but has been refurbished, not modern but ok for overnights stays as out through the day. No jug as per Europe hotels. No fridge. Room very basic for the price we paid as have stayed other cities for less. Dinner one night at their restaurant, was ok meal and ok priced cheaper than Salzburg restaurants.Walking distance to Spar to get food supplies. Loved the area as it was quiet and smelt like the country so good after a busy day in Salzburg with selfies sticks in your face. If arriving by bus from Salzburg take the 120 from HBF get off at Lengfelde feuerwehr, which is the stop after petrol station and Roundabout you will need to cross over the road and google map it before you get there. To get back into town two bus stops near by, the 120 &21 (2.60€ each way.) the number 21 is across road from hotel. Takes about 20 minutes to get in so an easy ride. We travelled in and out every day with the bus and our baggage with no issues. Overall I would stay here again as its a quaint Austrian hotel,I just think that they need to improve on their people skills and smile more.
- 517beth (8/5): Nice comfortable room - Was a good price compared to the hotels in town. This was about 3 miles from Salzburg, not a tourist hotel. Clean with modern bathroom, plenty hot water. Comfy bed. Did not eat breakfast at hotel, we thought it was a bit expensive, but got something in town. So many places to eat in Salzburg.
- Mrs M J (4/5): Unsatisfied - We were in room 205 which was nothing like the pictures on hotels.com. The decor was dated, all a nicotine colour, the bathroom had only one curtain at the window which didn't fit, the armchair was dirty and I wouldn't even sit on it. The bed was two singles pushed together and not a double. When I mentioned all this at the desk the receptionist just said sorry. Definitely would not stay here again.
- ravisG7585HC (8/5): Stayed for 4 nights - A good clean hotel , located near a highway well connected by public trabnsport ( with 100 mts are two stops ) bus every half hour . polite and helpful staff . WE were both vegetarians , still there was something in the menu in their open air restaurant.
No issues in the room which was spacious, our suggestions it gets hot in summers provide a fan and a kettle in each room it will be real value . Break fast was basic could do with some additions .
Would stay again

- rostisIav (6/5): Comfort Double Room not really that comfortable... or double - This review is based on a one night stay in a "Comfort Double Room" except the room was not comfortable and it was actually a twin with the beds put next to each other and a gap between the two mattresses. The entire room needed an upgrade from the squeaky wooden floor underneath the carpet to the old bathroom fittings, wooden doors, old wooden smelly closet, and especially the wooden bed frames that would continue creaking even after you'd get out of bed.
It feels like the entire place needs an upgrade to the current century as most signs were in German both outside the hotel and at the reception which was rarely manned and we waited for both check-in and check-out as I witnessed other guests did, too. The very young hotel staff would smoke right in front of the entrance, literally as you'd actually have to go around them to get in or out. Then, there is more smoking in the bar area and it would propagate, alongside the restaurant smells, all through the hotel.
It was one of the most budget friendly options around Salzburg, easy to reach and providing plenty of parking space. The Comfort Double is a very spacious room, with an anteroom. The WiFi access is simple with no login required.
- 81ZMM (8/5): One night stop off - great - We really enjoyed our stay here. We were driving from Croatia to Calais and decided to stop off near the KTM factory in nearby Mattinghofen which is 20 miles from this hotel.
We booked using a travel app about two hours before we arrived. We had a friendly check in and everything was ready for us.
The hotel has so much character, typically Austrian, we really liked it. We had a huge room with a balcony. The duvets on the beds were a welcome relief from plain sheets in Italy and Croatia. We also liked the little touch of a tiny Milka bar on the pillows 🍫
We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal sat outside. It was just what we needed given our travels. The wifi was really good staff spoke good English.
The room was really warm with no air conditioning, which disturbed our sleep a little. Also found a hair in the bed and bath and no shower curtain in the bathroom. Other than that, a reasonably clean and tidy place. I do agree with other reviewers there was a slightly strange farmyard smell in reception.
- Willemijn (6/5): - Nice spot but outside of the main area. Good service and nice little place to eat. Downfall o air conditioning
- Liv (10/5): nice hotel although outside Salzburg - great facility and close to bus stop, great food for breakfast of course it's extra charge but reasonable
- Verified traveler (8/5): quiet, clean, friendly staff, beautiful outside! - I llike the hotel, quiet, clean, friendly staff, beautiful outside!
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get less than what you pay for - Me and my pregnant wife booked a double bed room for two nights. Upon arrival, we were told there was a mistake with our reservation, and there is only a 2-single beds room available, where the beds cannot be joined together, and one of them was actually a sofa bed. The receptionist blamed the booking site for not being up to date with their system. As a compensation, we got free breakfest for the first night, and we were told that tommorow morning, we will be transffered to another 2-single beds room with normal beds that can be joined together at least. Mistakes happen, so we did not make a fuss. I took the sofa bed which was just awful, uncompfortable, short and narrow, with a disgusting filthy back rest creeping next to my head. and also, the WiFi was really bad (as other reviewers said). we just wanted to get out of there.
We were moved to a better room the following day (but- with an even worse WiFi connection) which made our planning of the next days quite impossible.
On top of that, we felt like we were bothering the stuff with our complainents, and didnt get help from them with purchasing the bus tickets ( tip - buy roundtrip at the hotel for 3.7 euros instead of 1-way for 2.6 euros)
On the positive side-
1. The breakfest was good
2. Quick and easy bus ride to Salzburg as promised.
3. Free parking
4. Price was really cheap (126 euros for two nigths)
- Katja128 (4/5): Hotel not for Tourists- for trade and locals - Checkin in went well end we used MAPS.ME to get o the Hotel. ( Just download the maps before you arrive at you travelling destination) We booked a double bed and got a room with only 2 single beds. We were offered another room with 2 single mattresses so no double bed. The room we booked was with a separate seating and we did not get such room.
NO WI FI- not even in reception. We did ask but it appears that they do not care.
No coffee and tea in the room. We had to ask for boiling water but that was difficuly to explain but then got boiling water to make coffee in our room.
Although it is a non smoking room- the smoke from the bar area get into the room.
It appears that staff are trying to help you and they tried to assist with the wi fi- and then we bought a BFree data card to get internet. The Hotel kindly phoned the number to assist with activation.
- Anna (8/5): Convenient and clean hotel - Our stay here was great, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, you can take a bus directly to Salzburg. They let us park at the hotel before the check in so it was very convenient.
Breakfast is a little bit expensive.
- Elena (4/5): Not enjoyable stay. - Extremely outdated, hair on one of the sheets, big spot on the carpet... No one was there to meet us, had to wait for 10 minutes. Bad value for the price.
- Bea (8/5): - We had a nice time at the Hotel Brauwirt. I wish they had provided light weight covers for the bed. It did get hot! It is a great place to escape the busy scene of Salzburg but it was an easy bus ride in. I would stay there again.
- Michael (8/5): Good hotel - Good inexpensive hotel about 10 minutes drive outside of town. Plenty of free parking, large room. Older European feel, pretty nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel. Very calm. - Good place to rest. A little bit far from downtown.
- Richard (8/5): Well-situated hotel near Salzburg - This was a perfectly good hotel that was conveniently close to the motorway. The only drawback was that the food in the restaurant was very average - everything else was fine. The room was spacious and clean.
- Graham (8/5): Nice hotel, wifi may be a problem - Quiet location, well kept hotel, easy parking. Wi-fi was not available in room 205-the connection dropped out repeatedly. The front desk, reluctantly, moved us to another room where the wi-fi was good. We were pleased with this result but the front desk should have been more responsive in resolving the problem. Traditional Austrian menu in restaurant.
- Geoffrey (6/5): Not bad for the price. - - Free and very convenient parking.
- Quiet neighborhood, away from the town.
- It is a 15-20 minute drive from Salzburg. To visit the old town, we drove in the morning and parked to Alstadtgarage B (on Monchberg) for a reduced fee of 18 Euro for 12 hours (because we had concert-dinner at St Peter's); the regular fee is 2.5 Euro per hour. It is about 8 minute walk to St Peter's.
- Curtain in both hotel room and bathroom: broken.
- It is quite hot and stuffy at night in July, but if you open the windows it allows many mosquitoes in and it is quite annoying.
- Overall quite clean.
- Wifi not stable.
- Friendly and helpful receptions.
- Huge bed for us two.
- The hotel is a historical site itself.
- Anna (10/5): A place to feel at home - We have been traveling throughout Europe and this hotel was by far my favorite because of the people who worked there. They were very friendly and helpful. Always positive and willing to answer questions. The hotel was in a beautiful place just on the edge of Salzburg, where you were close to the city but still had the beauty of the country. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean. The restaurant had good food.
- Hasan (10/5): - We have been staying at Bräuwirt every year. Very pleasant staff. Nice country style house located in the beautiful countryside.
- mitch (8/5): Quiet night of sleep 15 minutes from Altstadt - I have a low budget when it comes to vacation hotels because my wife and I spend almost every minute outside. Come to find out, centrally-located Salzburg hotels are expensive, so we found Hotel Brauwirt on the outskirts (Lengfelden). It's about a 15 minute and 3 euro bus ride to Altstadt (Old Town). The employees all spoke great English, were friendly, and our room was great for what we needed--a quiet night of sleep and a shower.
