Guest Reviews
- Sara (10/5): Perfect place to rest between flights, location 5* - The room was clean and 24 hour front desk with lovely staff. Shower worked well as did everything else, it was one of the only tvs that actually turned on and wasn’t fuzzy on our e tire month long trip. Comfortable bed big enough for my husband and I along with our toddler. My 6 year old slept on a trundle type of bed which was great for him. We paid 500baht to check out at 5pm instead of 12pm which was great for our 9 pm flight.
The area is fabulous there is a bigger mall within close walking distance and a smaller small with lots of restaurants and a grocery store, there is a small street market close by at night.
They were doing upgrades and warned us about the noise but we didn’t hear anything. The property is well mantained.
- Samuel (10/5): - Best air conditioning and Wi-Fi of anywhere I have stayed in Thailand in the past year
- Gary (6/5): - Restaurant closed. Bens are hard
- Graeme (10/5): Excellent Stay - Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and quiet. Shops close by. Will stay again.
- Hiroyuki (10/5): - Water pressure of shower is low.
- Pham (6/5): - Upgrade wifi system, can not do anything with wireless
- paul (6/5): - Staff where great no hot water cold showers
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice Hotel Good Location. stopped at a lot of hotels near airport and like this one.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to the airport, a mall and a good restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to the mall and good breakfast at the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pros: The hotel location is close to Paseo mall (approx 300 meters) where there are lots of restaurants and night market. Close to the airport.
Cons: Same as other negative reviews that some front staff is unfriendly.

- Britt (4/5): NOT A 3 STAR.... MAYBE A 2 STAR - I will never return. Much better places and about the same prices in the area. They will at least have MICROWAVES in the rooms. Very dated rooms, old out of date furnishings, hard uncomfortable bed, AC does not operate properly...either too cold or too warm. The remote settings do not seem to want to match, and poor flushing toilet.
Not a 3 Star Hotel. Maybe a 2 Star. No Microwave in room or to be used. Shower is the worst I have ever had. Shower head/wond is in really bad shape.
THEY DO NOT HAVE A RESTAURANT. They have breakfast service and area in the morning. Closes at 14:00 and breakfast service ends at 10:30. I have only seen a breakfast menu. Had cold cereal (cornflakes & Milo) for one of the choices.... But no milk. DO NOT try to order anything except for the one set you want. If, you want and are willing to pay more (150 baht each) to have more than one set for breakfast FORGET IT!!! The staff will not understand you. Floor are super slippery ... keep your shoes on or you will slip and fall.
The location is the ONLY POSITIVE for this places. Honestly that is it. Cost extra for Airport shuttle. 200 baht one way and 500 baht for pick up from airport and return. Yes... I know.... That is what was explained to me when I asked. I have the emailed reply.
I won't be back. You should search for a different place also.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A convenient Hotel for overnight stay near airport - It was an overnight stop-over prior transit to another country.
Decided on Ivory Suvarnabhumi due to close proximity to airport.
Overall experience is satisfactory since it offers the basics but hope management can improve the lightning of the rooms which is rather dimmed.
Also, it should explicitly indicate charges for airport transfers within hotels.com
We were only made aware it cost 200baht for one way transfer.
- Roger (10/5): Clean and nice bed - Clean, nice bed. Big balcony
- Lawrence (8/5): G - Good place for airport arrival or departure.. Service was good. While the receptionist was very courteous and professional, I misses the usual Thai Smile that one generally receive at Thai hotel reception.
- maureen (8/5): Overnight stay - Good hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bed shivers at night there’s something wrong with this hotel, make sure you checkout right on time else you will end up paying like me, choose anyother hotel but not this one please.
- Brian (10/5): A good hotel near airport - Comfortable ,clean, fairly priced hotel close to Suvarnabhumi Airport , with
Transfer to/from hotel available for 200 baht each way. Clean restaurant
Offering adequate breakfast for 150 baht
- John (10/5): - Recommended if your looking for a hotel close to the airport. Paseo mall is close by for a meal etc. The room is a good size, tidy and with tea coffee facilities included along with bottles of water. The reception was efficient. You will have to pay the taxi to the airport which is fair enough at approx 100 baht.
- Gary (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Good place to stay for short stay close to the airport.
- Thomas (6/5): Ok for one night! - Ok for a night close to the airport. Could stay there again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient to airport. Needs updating for better security. Very hard bed.
- Rohit (8/5): - Very clean and well located near the airport. Efficient check in. Good airport transfer. Since we were there for only a few hours could not experience the facilities. Has a homely feel. Economical. Will definitely use it again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to Paseo mall. Near airport. Not far from rapid transit.
- Arthur (10/5): Good experience - The location is just a short walk to a market and mall. When my wife forgot her neckless at the hotel, they mailed it to America for us. The were honest and kind. We have stayed there several times. We plan to go there again.
- Syy (8/5): - The A/C is not cold enough and a little too loud. You can hear the next door noises using the bathroom but over all I still like it
- Loire (8/5): near the airport, good to stop-over - arriving Bangkok 4:00am, stopoed by here for half night but will definitely recommend.
- Daniel (8/5): - No early shuttle to airport. They did arrange taxi to airport for 200 bahts
- Staci (8/5): Friendly staff, close to shopping - Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to shopping and food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fills the bill nicely - Hotel is right on the street, but set up in such away as to ensure quiet. A little bit like a dorm room, but everything was in good shape and amenities more than satisfactory -- hardly a "romantic getaway" kind of place, but since most visitors aren't likely to spend more than a night there, it fills the bill nicely and the price is certainly right. The on-site restaurant is a cafe that looks more set up for breakfast than anything else, but you can get a meal there. There's also excellent street food just a couple of minutes away by foot. There is shuttle service to the airport for an extra charge, but it's easy enough, and cheaper, to hail a taxi at any time of day or night right outside the hotel. Wifi was strong and, amazingly for Thailand, didn't require a password.
- Art (10/5): Modern Hotel Near Suvarnabhumi Airport - I could tell that this is a newer property. The rooms are immaculately clean and the shower is enclosed, not open like the older Thai hotels. My double bed was firm and comfortable and the best thing about this hotel other than the cleanliness is the promptness of the wake up call at 3 a.m. and all the English language channels in immaculate HD. Most Thai hotels don't offer a quality set hooked up to popular English language channels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Multiple short stays here - The close proximity to the airport, combined with their exceptional car service for getting me to the airport, has made this a regular spot for me to stay. I believe I’ve stayed there 3 times, and it will be 4 within a couple of months, when I leave Thailand.
It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s very secure. It’s comfortable with snacks and beverages to purchase in your room. It’s a short walk from large shopping complex.
- Shiv (8/5): - Our stay was comfortable and the staff was very kind and attentive our needs.
- jlee (6/5): Close to airport - Would only recommend if needing to stay close to airport. Clean but really hard bed! And small uncomfortable pillows. Also very noisy from street traffic. Our room faced the street and heard really loud traffic even at 3am. Perhaps the windows are not double pane?
- jay (8/5): Reasonably priced and close to mall - Hotel was fair value, close to airport and within walking distance to mall with restaurants and outdoor shopping and food stalls. Keeps you entertained for a day. Staff a bit confused but pleasant.
- Tim (8/5): Over night stay near airport - While this hotel is far from 5 star it suited us to a tee.
We got in at midnight, had a good night sleep in an air conditioned room, got breakfast the next morning and was on our way.
- PATRICIA (10/5): Good place for an overnight layover. - Good place to stay while on transit. Near BKK airport, about 10 minutes to get there during rush hours. They have no free airport transit service so I paid thb150 from bkk to ivory and thb200 from ivory to bkk. Room and bathroom were clean when I checked in. Cafe serves good affordable thai food. Will stay again here next time im transitting through bkk
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very clean and comfortable - Very good and clean place, very close to the airport so ideal for just a sleepover before catching a connecting flight.
Value for money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Near to AIRPORT - Always pick up quickly and easily check in. Have used the same place six times.
- Garry (8/5): Handy for airport - A good hotel for a overnight near Suvarnabhumi airport, local plaza caters for falangs with KFC And McDonald's (24hr).
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel located close to Paseo shopping mall - Helpful staff helped me phone airlines to re- schedule a flight change . They even delayed their staff meeting when the staff was put on hold by the airline receptionist
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice building! - I stayed here for one night. It was comfy! The shuttle to the airport was really convenient. Well run place!
- Alan (8/5): Top notch - great location, clean smart hotel, excellent value
- John (10/5): Happy as. - No problems ,friendly staff that went out of their way to help us. Close to Paseo mall which is great for eating and shopping. Close to aiport so win, win, win.
- Joe from WA (8/5): Nice hotel close to airport - Close to airport short taxi ride nice and clean good value
- Terrence (8/5): Reasonable stay for good access to the airport. - Just stayed a few hours until a morning flight. Pleasant helpful staff for a late checkin and early departure. Room was clean, reasonable but the bed was quite hard.
Good value for the money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): PERFECT for night before flight - I stayed at this hotel on 2 separate occasions, both times when I needed to be at the airport early in the morning. The car service, for only 200Baht is more than worth the cost, and was a major reason I changed my final night in Bangkok to stay there. The driver was EARLY both times! (A rare thing in Thailand). The driver & front desk people were friendly and courteous.
- Surya (10/5): Very good, clean well maintained hotel on the road - we stayed there for 4 nights and everyday the whole room was cleaned and new towels were replaced, the hotel was very clean and tidy and on the main road of Lat Krabang 22 main road, there is walkable mall near by The Paseo, it is very close to Suvarnabhumi airport, the TAXI Meter would charge you at the maximum 150 BHAT, the other option is take the Skytrain at Suvarnabhumi airport and get down at the very next station at Lat Krabang(Fare in Skytrin is 15 BHAT per head) and then take TAXI METER to 22 Lat Krabang Road (On meter it should not be more than 50 BHAT)
- R & R (6/5): Stopover in Bankok - Our flight was very late arriving & hotel pickup very confusing so some delay on top of being tired made things worse & they insisted on us taking 2 cars for 4 us. We organised an early morning call & our car arrived on time for the airport in the morning The rooms were clean but old, shower not good & beds were extremely hard. The age old saying you get what you pay for is true. Would we stay again no!
- Solo traveller (8/5): The hotel is close to the airport - 20 minutes max - The receptionist was very warm and welcoming, the hotel staff were helpful, the room was just what was needed.
- Patrick (8/5): Efficient stopover hotel - one night stay between flights went off without a hitch. Adjacent to Paso Mall and local market. Early morning taxi to airport efficiently organised and delivered in comfortable full-size sedan. Room was spacious and well-equipped even if not new and flashy.
- Stuart (8/5): next to shopping centre - Excellent Location next to a shopping centre. Taxi from Airport about 150 Baht
- Ian (8/5): Useful - Will use again for travel very convenient on and easy for airport
- andy (8/5): Great short time hotel - The staff was excellent , very accomodating and very friendly they recommended some great locations to eat lunch. Also arranged for transportation to the airport. I will definitely return. Great price
- stephanie (6/5): - Nice staff. Be sure to request a nonsmoking room
- Annie (6/5): Very "meh" but near the airport - This was a really "meh" accommodation. Concierge was friendly and helpful, but the only merit of the hotel was its proximity to the airport. Not much going on in the neighborhood.
- Somjai (2/5): Very noisy air conditioning. - Bed was rock hard. Very noisy air conditioning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Reasonable priced hotel - The hotel's location was fairly close to the airport and very convenient to walk to the Paseo shopping mall . The room cleanliness and staff were very nice
- Thomas (10/5): A nice hotel - This is a nice little hotel. It is close to the Paeso Shopping Mall (300 meters)so lots of local and international types of foods. It is clean and comfortable with a helpful staff.
The only negative is that there is no airport transfer and there is some confusion about how to get a taxi. My solution was that I just went out onto the street and flagged one down and had them drive to the hotel to pick up luggage. When I did that, it cost 80 Baht to go to the airport (plus a tip for a total of 100 Baht). Going from the Airport to the hotel was more like 200 Baht because you are such a captive audience at the airport.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor area, wouldn't stay here again! - We stayed here after a late flight to Bangkok and then one out the next day. Don't stay at all is my opinion.
First of all the taxi charged 200 bahts even though we asked for meter. Not that far probably 10 minutes so they won't go and won't put on the meter.
Poor area doesn't help. Room itself was ok, no hot water in shower.
Next morning asked for taxi to airport, receptionist said 500 bahts. Told her meter taxi, no was her answer. When your stuck you pay it. I imagine they work together as she told taxi driver on arrival at the hotel 500 bahts. He didn't get a tip lol!!!
Price was not bad so considering, we got what we paid!
- Nanou (6/5): Nice hotel but too expensive. - Stay there just 2 nights. Small room, nothing interested nearby. OK for short stay.
- Audrey (2/5): - Horrible stay. Hotel difficult to find, rooms big but not clean, close to the airport but the taxes in accordance with the hotel want to charge you 5 times the price of the journey, no restaurants around....A nightmare
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel close to airport - I stayed at The Ivory Suvarnabhumi-Bangkok in transit on my travels from Australia to Europe. This is my third time stayed with this hotel and i would highly recommend it, particularly for those who want to stay close to the airport for easy to and from travel - great for stop overs! Staff we helpful, room was clean and overall comfortable stay.
- freebird (6/5): Good place to stay for early flights - I stayed here for one night to catch an early morning flight. The straight-faced lady at the reception asked for my flight's timing and told me what time I should be at the lobby for their free shuttle. I was surprised to find a small shelf at a corner stocked with English books. You can borrow a book or two! it says.
The room is basic but clean. There's a fridge, electric kettle, minibar and complementary bottled water. Nothing fancy but sufficient for a short stay. Down the road there's a shopping mall with plenty of food outlets just 5 min walk away. I had dinner at this coffee place and their Phad Thai was good! There's also a 24-hour fast food outlet so in case you arrive late at night you'll still be able to get something to eat.
The next morning I checked out at the appointed time and boarded their shuttle...car. About 10 mins later I arrived at the airport safe and sound.
- Verified traveler (6/5): stay a night or a few days - this place is worth staying at,either over night when heading for the islands or a couple of days to recharge the battery's if you have been on the go for a while...it is in a good area with a good beach across the road and cheap eats near by..if you want luxury look somewhere else, because this place is cheap but good..happy traveling.............
- Stuart (8/5): Close to a very nice shopping centre and market - 2nd time here. I always choose this hotel as its next to a shopping centre with plenty of bars and restaurants. Most of the other Airport Hotels have absolutely nothing nearby.
- irene (2/5): Dishonest, corrupted , cunning, tricky - From BKK airport to ivory hotel taxi driver was creepy wanted 450bhat fare it should be 195bhat
Because I speak English to him.
When I check-out asked me to pay fine 400bhat because I stained the towel
I don't recommend to no one to me it was a dreadful experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable - Stayed here for one night before flying out. Everything at the hotel was acceptable. Not the friendliest of greetings - however, my room was immediately changed to a non-smoking one upon request and without question. I had a delicious club sandwich in the restaurant while sitting in a peaceful garden area; however, night noise from street traffic might be a problem for light sleepers. The taxi service back to the airport was good which was my primary reason for staying at a hotel closer to the airport with shuttle service - free or not. The taxi drivers in Bangkok are becoming increasingly more difficult to deal with. They consistently refuse to use the meters so they can gouge foreigners with significantly higher fares than they charge the locals. I did not need to deal with this unpleasantness at this hotel.
- carol (8/5): Well worth visit when you need to be by airport - The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful
The room was basic, clean, larger than most and better than average for this price range.
Can be a little noisy during the rush hours.
All and all it was a very good value and very convenient to the major international airport
- Jids (6/5): pre flifght layover - great!! much better then the airport I had a 12 hour between flight layover and this was the perfect place.
- Emi (6/5): Good for one night stay - Stayed here for one night before an early morning flight. Room was sparse but clean and comfortable. AC was really strong so I left it off and sweated through the night. Nothing in the area, but that wasn't a requirement in my situation. Other reviewers have said their taxi drivers had trouble finding it, but mine had no problem at all. I just showed him the address in English and he was able to find it using the street name.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good transit stop - Good place to stay if you are in transit, bit far out of town for an extended time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Short taxi ride to the airport - Chose this hotel for proximity to the airport.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Functional - One night stop over - arrived late, left early. Room was basic, bed hard. Would not go back.
- Lynsey (8/5): Great value - Great hotel to stay in for our night stopover before flying to Krabi as close to the airport. Staff were very friendly and also arranged private transfer to airport for approx £3 the next morning. Room was basic but comfortable and very clean.
It was only a short walk to the Paseo Mall where we went for dinner.
Overall it was a great hotel for a short stay and we would stay there again.
- Philip (6/5): Good Value for Short Stay - I was in Bangkok on business and decided to take a few days off in Khao Lak. As my international flight out of Bangkok was at 7:00 am, I decided to overnight at the Ivory Suvarnabhumi on return from Khao Lak. On the way to the airport for my domestic flight, I stopped at the Ivory and asked to leave my a suitcase with my business clothes there. They agreed without any hassle. On return from Khao Lak I took a taxi to the Ivory. Cost was 150 Baht. Travel time from the airport is only about 10 minutes. The hotel is located near a shopping center where are there are some nice restaurants and a massage place. The hotel arranged a transfer for me to the airport in the morning. Price was the same as that of a taxi. The amenities in the room were pretty basic, but fine for an overnight stay. Definitely good service and value for the price and convenient to the airport.
- Joleen (6/5): Good for airport stay, noisy street - The no frills hotel is nice and clean and perfect if you need to get to the airport. Please note that the road this hotel is on is very noisy. The hotel was nice enough for the very inexpensive price. It's an added bonus that you get free breakfast.
- Frank (10/5): Great hotel very close to airport - I had an overnight stay in Bangkok in transit to Europe. This hotel was conveniently located close to the airport which made it easier for me to get to and from in a short amount of time.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great bargain for a night or two. - Needed a place to sleep between flights. This hotel was perfect for that. It is basic but very clean and the breakfast was delicious.
- Ray (10/5): Nice hotel, great price. - I primarily use the Ivory because it is close to the airport. It is inexpensive, the staff are great, and the restaurant has western food options (like a cheeseburger). The only issue is the lack of box springs so the bed is vary hard. But I notice this is generally true of the less expensive hotels in Thailand.
- Carny (4/5): Layover in Bangkok - It was for a layover in Bangkok. The room was very old and felt dirty. My wife didn't feel comfortable taking a shower. When I took a shower, there was little to no water pressure. Next time, I will pay a little extra for a better accommodation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good find but walls so thin in our room - Such good value £15 to get a clean and tidy room for two people. Air con reasonable fan noise, nice and cool. Hotel easy to find. First room smelt so much of smokers being in there i could not stay in it. Chap carrying the suitcase went back and got another room for us no problem nor any bad attitude.
Under 10 mins to the airport and car park also.
It was just the so thin wall to the room next door. They really could have been in our room !
To be fair to them I am sure they did not know how much we could hear them so much. I translated please be quiet we have an early flight into Japanese and played it once we never heard anything more from them.
- Ray (10/5): The Ivory is a very nice hotel near the airport. - Always enjoy staying at the Ivory. It is simple without many bells and wistles. But the staff is always very friendly and helpful. You are (fairly) close to a 7-11, a KFC, and McDonalds. I originally selected the Ivory because it was very close to the airport. I stay for one night (sometimes two nights) whenever I travel to Bankok. And before I leave.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent overnight option - Inexpensive overnight option close to the airport. Wifi wasn't working, but hotel staff was friendly. Decent value for money.
- Adrian (8/5): Return from holiday - This hotel was very good for a 1might stay close to airport the area was reasonable and safe
- Justine Chartrand (6/5): Good place for a stop - We were coming back from Phuket on the Friday night and leaving right away back home the next morning, so this hotel is great for a short overnight stop.
- Foo (8/5): Fine for a one night stopover before an early morn - The ratings are for a budget room only stay in order to be at the airport at 7am the next morning. We heard little noise from the road at night, but the traffic was discernible the nex morning at 6am. Catch a taxi from Lat Krabang, the stop before Suvarnabhumi Airport for 51bht and from hotel to the airport for 75bht. The hotel is on the main road so there is no problem hailing down a taxi.
- travelingSEAsia (6/5): Good for overnight stay - It was good stay. Check in at 3am, they asked for additional $10. We didn't argue, we need bed to slept.
The experienced was okay except this terrible smell coming from the sewage. I put towel & garbage can & it helped.there is a cafe in the hotel serves Thai food & few western. Few minutes walk from the hotel is a mall(paseo mall). There's Starbucks,mc Donald's , different restaurants.
We stayed overnight. Use there taxi service to the airport for 150 baht.
- gsmith6639 (8/5): - Good airport hotel - the main thing about this hotel is the staff - they are excellent to help you with any problems you might have. The negative is the television, it is not good if you want to keep up with world news and sporting events. They have very good wifi in all areas.
- Bebot (8/5): Convinient for Transit Traveller - The Ivory is about 10 min away from the airport. Hotel shuttle is fantastic for pick up and drop off to/from airport.. The hotel room is clean and tidy good enough for a short sleep before going to the next flight. The staff are friendly and helpful. I did not get to see the surrounding shops as we arrived at night and left early in the morning for the airport. We were satisfied in our stay there and most likely to stay again in our future stopover in Bangkok.
- branka (10/5): -
would recomend for people who are waiting for connecting flights
- Alissa (8/5): - Facilities: Nice ; Value: Affordable; Service: Professional, Friendly, Courteous; Cleanliness: Delightful;
- South Asia Traveler (6/5): Good Layover Hotel - Not too many extras here, but a good place to spend the night while waiting for your flight out of Bangkok Airport. They were easy, affordable, and a short drive from the terminal.
If you do book here, be aware that the "airport shuttle' is a guy and a car. No ID, no logo on the car. This scared me a bit at first, but I did indeed make it to and from the airport in one piece, and the driver was actually quite good.
There is a cafe next door that was closed when I arrived at 11:00pm (thank goodness for the Cliff Bar I tucked away in my carry-on at the last minute), but opens at 6am for breakfast.
- Jayelle (8/5): Convenient location to airport - Fantastic Value The best we have experienced so far in terns of location as stated above Friendly and helpful staff
- Forever Traveling Man (6/5): inexpensive, close to airport - I used the website to search for an affordable hotel close to the Bangkok airport. The quoted price at the Ivory was so low I was concerned that there might be something seriously wrong. But I went there anyway. A perfectly adequate small hotel only 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. I've been back twice, and would go again next time I'm transiting BKK.
- jscldh (6/5): TRANSIT PASSANGER - FOR TRANSIT PASSENGER IT IS GOOD ..IT HAS FREE BOTH WAY TRANSFER, GOOD FOR SHORT STAY.
- Tired after a long flight (6/5): great after long flight - The hotel picked us up from the airport, the room was clean, the cafe served good food. I would stay again if i needed to sleep after 20 hours in a plane!
- DIA Section 102 (6/5): Exactly What I Wanted & Expected - I just needed a clean and quiet room to spend a 13 hour layover between flights.
This hotel filled the bill perfectly. After a little difficulty locating the shuttle service, I was delivered right to the hotel for check in.
The room was spartan, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower was clean and adequate. The restaurant was acceptable, also.
I'll stay again
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointed - No Rep. at the Airport
When they came with small toyota car, we have 5 suitcases they have to make two trips. We also, have one more night booked before we return to US, we canceled that.
Their web look so beautiful when we got there very disappointed.
- RayJ55 (8/5): Sweet little hotel - I have used The Ivory twice during my vacations to Thailand. The original decision to use it was its proximity to the airport. It has a Cafe that serves some western foods. The prices (hotel and food) are very reasonable and the staff is great. The receptionist even remebered me from over a year ago!
