- Stephanie (2/5): - Terrible experience – treated horribly during checkout! I stayed at this hotel on October 6–7, 2025, and had one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. Upon check-in, there was an issue with the $150 security deposit on my international business card. It took almost an hour on the phone with my bank and the front desk to fix it. The staff finally agreed to charge the card directly and refund the $150 upon checkout. The next day when I tried to check out, my room key didn’t work. The front desk staff claimed I hadn’t paid my deposit (which I had), and spoke to me rudely and disrespectfully. When I asked for her name, she refused and told me to ask the manager. The manager was just as unhelpful, refused to check the records, and even threatened to call security to remove me — while I was six months pregnant. After nearly 40 minutes of arguing, the original staff member confirmed I had in fact paid. By then, I had missed my flight and had to wait five extra hours at the airport. The entire situation caused extreme stress and exhaustion. To make matters worse, they still haven’t refunded my $150 deposit. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will never stay here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid this property unless management makes serious changes to how they treat their guests.
- Sophie (8/5): - Don’t be put off by negative reviews - this hotel is great value for money given the location. No food on site or kettle in room which was a downside, and the bar was never open, but there’s a fridge in the room so we took our own mini kettle and were very happy!

- Janet (10/5): - Very central location for anyone needing to be in the financial district for meetings, near the NYSE, etc. The property is safe and secure, check in and check out was a breeze, and everyone was gracious, even when I checked in at nearly midnight. The rooms are quite spacious and have everything you need. There is construction across the street, but it's New York, so there seems to always be something getting a facelift! The work didn't bother me as it started a bit later in the day and ended well before my return at the end of the evening.

- Julie (8/5): Dodgy lifts - This hotel was very reasonably priced for Manhattan. It’s down between Wall St and the Battery very close to the World Trade Centre so transportation is really easy, you can be in Times Square in just over half an hour, the room was spacious with an amazing view one One WTC. The staff were nice and the room was cleaned every day. Now the downside, we had a fridge and an iron which was great but no kettle, which for a Brit was tough. The building has 30 floors of rooms with one lift to reception on 5 and a second set to the rooms. When you arrive it feels like a nightclub with little or no sign to explain where to check in, luckily someone told us. The big issue was most of the lifts didn’t work. One of the 3 from the street was operational and one of 3 for the top floors, which completely gave up at one point and we had to use the service lift. I would stay there again for the price but leave plenty of time to exit the building!

No one at the desk for 15 mins when I arrived. Poor signage re how to get to the service elevator. No coffee maker, one small shampoo, no conditioner, no mouthwash, nothing! Old bathroom features. Clean room but certainly not worth that price.

- Darrell (4/5): - Do not recommend. Had two king rooms for 4 nights. Had to call for towels every day. One day we get bath towels and no washcloths or hand towels. One day got 4 hand towels and no bath towels or wash cloths. One day I got two bath mats and nothing else. Like this everyday for both rooms. Rooms very dark especially the bathrooms. Entrance lobby very dark. Hotel lobby not comfortable. Finally the night before check out, I asked at hotel desk where best place to get taxi. Was told call desk in morning and they will get one for me. Called in morning and rudely was told hotel doesn't offer that service.

The response I got when I brought it to the attention of the front desk…I was told the attendants must have ran out of stuff to complete the cleaning!!! This is a huge outfit!! How can you run out of linen and towels!!! Had to walk 2 flights down to get ice!! The one on my floor didn’t work!!! Then to top it off…both elevators went down since yesterday!!! It was an attendant that advised me to use the service elevator hidden in a closet and not readily seen!!! WHAT!!!! Unacceptable!! I thought I had found another hotel to add to my choices downtown, because I’m in New York a lot…but has been greatly disappointed!!! But still loves the ambiance and the layout of the room…

- RUTH (6/5): - The hotel location was great! However, a simple reno and maintenance would've made a lot of difference. The house keepers made so much noice and was talking loud in the hall ways. They knocked on our door and asked if we why we were still in the room when check out was at 1100. It meant she didn't know we were staying for 2 nights. The carpet looked dirty and the bathroom had a smell. 1 working elevator out of the 3. We always had to wait to get to the rooms. The person who checked us in wasnt hospitable. The check out was better.

The mirror light was not working but that was ok (was barely in the room anyway). Overall the Hotel is clean and conveniently located in the heart of Manhattan.

The property itself could use some work, it is obvious that it was once really nice and a few good weeks of repairs would do wonders. The shelf in the shower is sharp, if someone ever has a medical issue and passes out they could get seriously injured. Really great place, amazing location, incredibly lovely staff and could really be a polished gem with little effort.

- Carol (6/5): - I would say this hotel is 3 stars at BEST. I wouldn’t go so far to say 2 stars. The hotel could be cleaner, I had to wear shower shoes but it wasn’t super dirty overall. Staff is nice. About a 10 minute walk from the subway, area is somewhat safe at night, but definitely a lot of people during the day. Not sure if I would stay here again unless it was one of the more affordable options (like in this instance). But I don’t regret staying here as well. I would only say it was worth it depending on the nightly rate.

I think this place does need some upkeep as they only had 1 working elevator of 3, the bathroom had pretty poor lighting and overall the room could use TLC to keep it updated. So I say again, if you get a good price, do it, if not, I would consider the large chain hotels as they usually are forced to keep rooms more updated.

- Maria (8/5): - Location is amazing. The view to the one World Trade Center and close walking distance to the oculus and subway station was very convenient. If I had to critique anything it would be that one 1 of 3 elevators were running. Really enjoyed visiting NYC for the first time.

- Katherine (6/5): - I was a little surprised by the limited options in our room. There was zero extra blankets or pillows Only 2 towels and a bath mat No hand towels or facial rags. Mini fridge was locked and was not useable so leftovers were wasted Hallways to rooms were old dingy and dark Room view was amazing! Staff very kind Elevators- only one in operation and everyone had to wait for several minutes to get up or down to their floors. Personally feel for the amount of money we paid for our room we should have had access to mini fridge and had full set of towels There was also no access to rooftop lounge area - one of the reasons we picked this hotel.

- Terryn (6/5): - Our original room had a broken HVAC system requiring us to move to another room. The door would not always automatically lock and the service people let me know that was a system error that all the doors do. I also woke up the second day with bug bites (3).
- Arethea Nicole Turner (2/5): - Misleading Photos & Poor Experience Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The pictures shown on Expedia do not accurately reflect the property or rooms in their current condition. The reality was a musty room, poorly cleaned bathroom, no microwave, no breakfast, and refrigerator barely working. Overall, this stay did not meet even basic expectations of cleanliness and comfort. I would not recommend this property to other travelers.
- Brianna (6/5): Cat fished!! - Great location however the hotel is very ran down. The picture are not up to date at all. Only one working elevator and the hotel looks like it’s falling apart. The bathroom were very disgusting to the point that I didn’t feel comfortable putting my bare feet on them. Book at your own risk.

- Noah (2/5): - Terrible property. Location was the only positive. I could write an essay about the property degeneracy. 6 elevators, only 2 worked. And they didn’t work for the same area of the hotel. Dirty rooms, dirty bathrooms, poor hotel room doors, ghetto paintings. Need I say more?

I was notified to leave a review smh . I can say arriving staff was wonderful very welcoming , however I was told that early check in was available but unfortunately the room was not ready so I did have to wait until the regular time . Then when arriving to the room there wasn't any towel available. ( we went to the store and bought towels) They brung us towel at midnight Other then that New York made up for the inconvenience This hotel is very close to a lot of tourists places I would give it a 3/5

- Anna (6/5): - Woman at desk was great - she was the only good thing about our stay; two different men were not, and front desk answering was hit-or-miss; biggest complaints were elevator was down three separate times during our brief stay; room had a few issues that were pointed out so we didn’t get charged deposit; had to call a few times to have them get the tv to work which they acted like was a big inconvenience; no washcloths; charged me on departure when I had already paid (more!) on hotel; took a few business days to finally get money back despite letting them know within an hour of the charges; will not stay here again
- Joe (6/5): Modern hotel that has seen better times - The checkin process was quick but not hospitable. The attendant was pushy and did not have a warm personality. The facilities were nice but not well maintained. My door got stuck allot, the gym did not have water or wipes, the elevator was broken. The room was ok but very bare bone, there was no water, the carpet could have used a vacuum. The view was great and the bed was very comfortable.
- Tamara Margaret Evelyn (8/5): - Room was decent but no face cloths and no shower mat after day 1 and no coffee maker or kettles available. Rooms were quite clean and quiet. Bed was very comfortable .Staff was very nice and helpful at front desk and cleaning staff. Entry and public areas a little run down. Balcony on 5th floor/check-in has an excellent view. Only 1 working elevator was a bit of a nuisance and slowed us down on days we wanted to rush. Would have loved the bar to be open on 5th floor. Easy access to subways to go uptown, Brooklyn etc. Overall we are happy with our stay
- Adriana (2/5): - **Avoid This Hotel – Terrible Experience!** I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I knew something wasn’t right. The atmosphere was off—almost eerie—and nothing looked like the photos or descriptions online. It felt like someone had just taken over an abandoned building and started running it without any regard for upkeep or maintenance. First off, the elevator broke down during my stay, which forced all guests to use the service elevator. Not only is this incredibly inconvenient, but it also added to the feeling that the place is falling apart. The staff was incredibly unprofessional and seemed either uninterested or completely unqualified to handle the situation. As for the amenities, they advertised a bar, restaurant, and gym—but none of these were what they promised. The bar was completely shut down, and I didn’t even bother with the gym since getting anywhere with the elevators down was a hassle. The rooms were also subpar—dirty walls, outdated furniture, and an overall neglected feel. It felt unsafe, like I was staying in a place that had been forgotten by whoever was supposed to be managing it. The whole experience left me feeling uncomfortable and wary about my belongings. To sum it up: this hotel is a complete scam. If you're looking for a place to stay, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

- sidney (2/5): - Good afternoon To whom it may concern im typing this message in hopes of sometype of compensation because this has been a horrific experience for myself and wife staying here at the Washington the room is dirty stains on the pillows and bedsheets ceiling mold , water damage in the hotel bathroom and to make matters worst no microwave or elevators guests are using the service elevators to get from their floors to ground level I'd would like a full refund this is not how a supposed Luxury hotel in downtown nyc is operated

- Odunayo (4/5): 3/10 - The elevator is night mare. I didn’t know the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast and that’s the most important meal of the day . There was mold in the shower head and it had an awful smell . I think I just lacked maintained
- David (6/5): It’s ok - There was only one elevator working all weekend. With 30 plus floors, that was unacceptable. They also advertise a rooftop patio, but it is private. My family and I went up there to get pictures of the views and the staff threatened us saying we were trespassing. The bathroom ceiling was also peeling, but the room was clean. No parking and the parking around the hotel is EXPENSIVE! We probably will be the extra next time for better experience.
