• Anna Giulia (9/5): Base eccellente per l’esplorazione di Osaka - La struttura è in una posizione fantastica, nel cuore pulsante di Osaka, molto vicina alla metto rossa con cui raggiungere gran parte dei punti strategici della città. Nonostante la zona circostante si animi molto la notte l’abbiamo trovata molto silenziosa. Lo staff è stato molto gentile: il giorno del nostro arrivo ci ha tenuto i bagagli fini al check in ed al check out ci ha aiutato alla compilazione dei moduli per la spedizione di questi all’hotel successivo. Non abbiamo usufruito di colazione od onsen.

• Suzanne (9/5): Une belle adresse, au coeur de l'animation, tout en étant calme. - Etablissement type ryokan très bien placé, tout en étant calme. Notre chambre avait une très jolie vue sur le canal. Nous avons très bien dormi sur les futons. Une belle adresse ! Tout était très bien.
• Magdalena (8/5): Udany pobyt - Bardzo udany pobyt w tradycyjnym ryokanie. Świetna lokalizacja, pomimo że przy samym kanale, gdzie imprezy do późnej nocy to pokój dobrze wyciszony. Pokój był czysty, zadbany i można było poczuć japoński klimat. Obsługa bardzo miła.

• Jasmine (9/5): A great budget ryokan with an onsen close to the nightlife - This ryokan is in a great location that is close to everything. I think it would be wonderful for couples and solo travelers who are wanting to take advantage of the nightlife that Osaka offers. I confirmed before check in that it was okay to get into the onsen with a tattoo and they asked that I go during off times as to not offend anyone. Which knowing the culture of Japan I was totally fine with. Both times I went to the onsen was around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. and no one else was there so it was never an issue. Because you are on Dotonbori it is so loud until 11:00 p.m. The windows do not help contrary to some reviews. So, bring your white noise machine and an eye mask because the room doesn't go completely dark. Also, on the check in paperwork it says that they have breakfast however they stopped that a year ago. They did not advertise on booking so that when I checked in I wasn't expecting it, but I was confused so I thought I would add that in.

The onsen was very nice and we even had it to ourselves, which made the experience more relaxing The pamphlet indicated that breakfast was included, but it was not available due to low staffing Our non-smoking room still had a noticeable smoke smell The hotel enforces a curfew from 1 AM to 6 AM, and guests are not allowed back in during those hours, which can be inconvenient
• Honeyands (8/5): Location can't be beaten and comfortable rooms - Location is unbeatable. You're in the middle of everything. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very clean. For traditional futon bedding, it wasn't too bad. Smoking is not allowed in rooms, but smoking on floor corridors is permitted, so you could smell some residual smoke. It is loud until late into the night because you are in the midst of Dotonbori, so expect that.
• Eric (10/5): Convenient rest point near all the fun food sections of Osaka - Was exactly as advertised. Great location, only 15 minute walk from nearest JR station and close to the fun food section of Osaka. Quiet, safe, simple, on the small side, but super clean and everything worked. Staff is great, speaking decent English. Only regret is that we didn't book early enough to have the river view and didn't get to try to public bath. Good excuses to come back! Nothing really. Was a little small but enough for two people on a budget.

• Phil 91 (9/5): Exceptionnel - Hotel style Ryokan super. Chambre vue canal extra avec l'animation extérieure qui dure jusqu'à minuit, mais absolumentpas dérangeant.Belle surface pour 2 personnes. Équipement de la chambre suffisante. Dormir sur des futons, c'était une première pour nous, on s'y habitue. Personnel très agréable parlant anglais et de bons conseils. Emplacement exceptionnel pour une site de 3 jours sur Osaka et se déplacer sur tous les centres d'intérêt. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir. Ras.

Personnel très agréable qui m’a orientée vers une solution très pratique pour me rendre à l’aéroport d’Osaka : à 100m, au Doton Plaza, une compagnie de bus part toutes les 1/2h pour l’aéroport. Impeccable quand les bagages sont lourds en fin de séjour! Horaires du petit-déjeuner (jusqu’à 8h30 maximum), du coup je n’en ai pas réservé. Le bruit le soir dû à l’animation du quartier (bouchons d’oreilles indispensables !)

Happy to hold bags until 5pm. Has its own onsen on the 6th floor and the location was excellent! Right on the Dotonburi river but the double glazed windows stopped all street noise. Loved it. Nothing - it was all good!

• Stanislav (8/5): Gute Gelegenheit traditionelles Zimmer zu entdecken - Lage ist sehr zentral, direkt in dem begehrtem Dotonbori-Bezirk. Die Gelegenheit für relativ wenig Geld in einem traditionellen japanischen Zimmer zu übernachten. Die Mitarbeitende des Hotels sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mit der Lage muss man den Kompromiss eingehen - es ist zwar in der Mitte des Nachtlebens, die Dämmung im Hotel ist aber nicht die beste. Man soll also die Ohrstöpsel lieber mitnehmen. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen - es fällt etwas negativ im Vergleich zu den anderen Hotels ein.

I chose this accomodation mainly because they have an onsen where they, according to the answers on the questions section of this site, encourage even tattooed guests to enjoy bathing. However, when we checked in we were told that because of our tattoos we wouldnt be able to use the onsen facilities. This was a huge disappointment. I understand the cultural differences and have no problem in respecting them, but please dont advertise a tattoo friendly onsen if that is not your policy in reality. Every other aspect of our stay was lovely.

• Jo (8/5): Traditional ryokan in a very central location. - Large room, comfortable and very clean. Onsen was always quiet when I visited. Staff friendly with decent English spoken. Help yourself to drinks in the reception area. Floor 5 smelt of cigarette smoke most of the time. There was a smoking room and corridor but due to the strong smell I have to assume people smoked where they shouldn’t have. Was noisy at night even with double glazing, the downside of such a central location.

• Wenzel (8/5): Traditional stay in the bustling heart of Dontonbori - The room was very spacious and offered all the structure you could need for the stay. The public bath was also very welcome! The staff was very attentive and we were very grateful to them for receiving our suitcases which were sent in advance. The hotel is located in Dontonbori, which is a great location if you want to explore the many restaurants from the area. Because of its location being in one of the most touristy areas of Osaka the neighbourhood is loud and it can be disturbing for guests that prefer quiet stays (although the noise did not travel to our room, as we kept windows closed)

The rooms were spotless and beautifully designed, the yukata were a great touch, and the bathing area was perfect after a long day out. Super kind staff and a really special stay that shows two totally different sides of Japan at once. Would absolutely stay here again.

• Ila74 (9/5): - Volevamo provare un ryokan e ci é piaciuto molto. Posizione centralissima ma silenzioso. La stanza grande e molto particolare. Tatami in terra e futon per dormire che abbiamo trovato molto comodi. In dotazione anche i kimono le ciabatte e tutto il necessario per il bagno. Colazione giapponese molto gustosa ed abbondante. Abbiamo provato anche l'onsen diviso per uomini e donne, non grande ma con tutto il necessario. Non c'era nessuno quindi é stato ancora più rilassante. Lo staff molto disponibile. Un'altra comodita la fermata dell'autobus che porta all'aeroporto a pochi metri. Confermo i punteggi giá alti della struttura

• Karen (8/5): Lovely, simple room with an enclosed balcony that was great for people watching. - Location was great, except for when the tourist boats were running in the evenings, when a lot of outside noise penetrated the double-glazing. Staff was so friendly. No reading lamps in the room. Futons were very low to the floor (to be expected). We managed to get up and down but it was a struggle.
