The Service: The staff were incredibly lovely, welcoming, and provided great service from the moment we arrived. The Room Condition: The room felt very basic, old, and is in need of renovation. The Noise: The insulation is awfully poor. We could hear everything from both the street traffic and inside the hotel corridors. The Value: At £625 for the night, it simply did not feel worth the price given the state of the room.

Antoinette was incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and welcoming throughout our stay, and truly made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with a great selection and excellent service. A special thank you to Giani, Aurelio, and Ana, who all did a wonderful job and made every morning feel warm and welcoming. Overall, a beautiful hotel with excellent hospitality, wonderful staff, and a perfect location in Florence. We would happily stay again.

It's located in the heart of Florence, yet the palazzo is calm and peaceful inside. The hotel has a long and fascinating history, and combines some beautiful architectural features (in the lobby area, for example) with very modern amenities (comfortable beds, well-equipped bathrooms, excellent heating/air-conditioning). The location is in walking distance of anything and everything. The rooms are spectacular with great amenities. Breakfast - bountiful selections. But the real reason is the staff. Dining room staff: Gianni, Anna, Aurelio, Christina. They remember what I like and get it for me as soon as I arrive. Concierge/reception. Any request taken care of with a smile: Erika, Antoinetta. But the real reason I return is for the hospitality offered by Nadine. This is truly my home away from home. My only request, as a lover of flowers, is that they upgrade their selection to match their 5 star category.

- BobV21303 (10/5): City Square Florence Excellence - The NH Collection Firenze Porta Rossa exceeded expectations. The hotel itself has such history and it has been interwoven into the modern world. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room we had was enormous with an amply sized bathroom (double sink). Because of the student population in the city, the street got a little loud but that is no fault of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

La habitación era muy ruidosa, se nota que las ventanas no tienen doble panel o antiruidos y eso fue muy molesto ya que en la noche pasó gente riendo fuerte, autos y motos y los sentimos como si estuvieran adentro de la habitación. En la mañana nos despertamos alrededor de las 6 am por los ruidos de autos. Creo que definitivamente un hotel de esta categoría debe contar con un sistema de aislación bueno.

- Jean (8/5): Il y a sans doute mieux pour le prix payé - La possibilité de changer la chambre avec bain contre une chambre avec douche (comme demandée lors de la réservation, mais pas attribuée). C’était très décevant à l’arrivée, mais l’hôtel a eu la souplesse de la changer). Le salon, qui est situé trop près de la réception et de l’entrée. Le fonctionnement du parking. Si on a besoin de quelque chose qui se trouve dans la voiture, il faut attendre une demi-heure ☹️. Lors du départ, nous avions demandé 2h. à l’avance de pouvoir disposer de notre voiture pour partir, mais le moment venu, la voiture n’était pas disponible. L’hôtel avait oublié de le demander au garagiste, qui n’était pas disposé à réparer cet oubli en la cherchant tout de suite.Nous avons dû attendre 20 minutes, pourtant le garage où se trouvait notre voiture se trouvait à moins de 50 mètres de l’hôtel. Frustrant quand on doit faire beaucoup de kilomètres après. ☹️☹️ Et pour 3 jours nous avons tout de même payé 145€ pour une MINI Cooper SE.

Zum Geburtstag wurde zum Frühstück eine Mini-Torte mit Kerze überreicht. Dazu war vor der Eingangstür zum upgegradeten Zimmer eine rote Fußmatte gelegt mit dem Text: "Happy Birthday". Nicht zuletzt möchte ich das herausfragende, außergewöhnliche Frühstück mit einem Angebot welches ich in anderen 5-Sternen-Kategorien national wie international in der Weise noch nicht erlebt habe. - Nishan (10/5): A truly memorable stay - absolute luxury! - We have stayed in a number of NH Collection hotels in Europe and the US, and the Porta Rossa hotel has become our favourite of them all. We requested a room upgrade in advance, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that the hotel was upgrading us complimentary to an even better room; a junior suite. Our stay was phenomenal. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean - it was modern but retained periodic features. Whilst the immediate view was of another building, this did not detract from where the room was situated in the hotel. There was so much sunlight coming through the room, which we loved, and looking down and across gave a lovely view of the Pizza di Santa Trinita at one end of the street and the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio at the other. There were some special little touches that we really appreciated e.g. slippers being laid out before bedtime. The bathroom was very large and well-maintained, facilities were great. The staff at the hotel were so kind, helpful, and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our trip wonderful, such as making dinner reservations for us at leading restaurants and recommending other places to gain an authentic Florentine experience. The lobby and bar was beautiful, we had some wonderful cocktails and wine there, whilst enjoying the cellist as evening entertainment. Finally the location of the hotel was perfect - everything was walking distance and the area and street of the hotel felt incredibly safe. This was a truly memorable stay and we are so grateful to the hotel staff for making this such a treasured experienced. We were really spoiled by so much luxury. Grazie mille a tutti, we will be back for sure and recommend this hotel without hesitation! Nothing to fault whatsoever!

Old world charm with elegance, great staff and excellent buffet breakfast! - This hotel is in the center of Florence and about a 10 minute walk from the train station, although rolling suitcases on the stone sidewalks is challenging. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is simply wonderful. The staff is extremely helpful, polite, professional and friendly. The breakfast buffet is the real standout here. The breakfast rooms are stunningly beautiful and the assortment and variety of foods is amazing! So many choices to choose from and shout out to the woman making delicious cappuccinos for us each morning. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. We looked forward to the breakfast buffet each morning as it was a wonderful way to start our day exploring Florence. We requested a room on a high floor with a view and our room was perfect! Lots of room, great amenities and extra large shower. This is a fabulous hotel, old world charm and elegance with upgraded rooms. I want to come back to Florence just to stay here again. Highly recommend this hotel. You won’t be sorry!

Not only is it one of the oldest hotels in Italy, but the location is perfect with all the major Florence sights within walking distance, alongside a lot of amazing local Italian shops and restaurants. The staff are absolutely fantastic and we’re the most welcoming to us. To name drop a few; Nadine, Stefano, Nirvan, Antonietta, and Gianni had all helped us settle in and made sure our stay was well accommodated for. The rooms are super clean and cosy (especially the beds) and the breakfast spread was more than perfect. If you are looking for a solid stay in Florence that will not disappoint, you have to stay here!!

Tiene una ubicación fantástica, se puede llegar andando a todas partes. Por la noche es una calle tranquila y nada ruidosa. Tuvimos una habitación muy espaciosa en la primera planta del hotel. El desayuno muy variado y muy bueno con fruta fresca. La primera habitación que nos dieron estaba en la 4ª planta, daba a un patio interior y era ruidosa por equipos de aire acondicionado y el ascensor. Solicitamos un cambio de habitación y nos cambiaron a una habitación mucho mejor en la primera planta sin ningún problema.

Inside the space is gorgeous with vaulted ceilings, original frescos and stained glass. It's said to be Italy's oldest hotel and the staff are proud of that. Es un antiguo palacio que han sabido conservar con todas las comodidades y lujos de ahora. Es una buena mezcla. Estaba precioso con la decoración de Navidad. Nos ayudaron con el coche, el aparcamiento, y con todo lo relacionado, ya que el hotel se encuentra en zona limitada de tráfico. No recuerdo nada que no nos gustara. Aunque no es barato, lo recomiendo sin dudar.

Everything was good at the hotel. Even parking was arranged with the garage to collect and deliver as the hotel located in a Traffic Zone limitation area.

We treated ourselves to the junior suite for our last few nights in Tuscany, and it was lovely. The room was awesome and the bathroom was huge and stunning! - R4935FDdavidb (10/5): A lovely, historic hotel - This is a lovely hotel, located close to the centre of Florence in a building which some say is the oldest hotel in Italy, today traditional features are combined with a modern, comfortable hotel. We arrived to find that we had been upgraded to a Junior Suite (room 121) with 18th century frescoes on wall and ceiling (see photo) which was a real treat. We found the hotel location convenient for everything, and the staff at the front desk were very efficient and consistently helpful. The breakfast buffet was good, and once again the staff were excellent. The hotel has a small restaurant and we ate there one day. The meal was first rate and service was again excelllent. I can heartily recommend this hotel if you are in Florence.

Aunque la oferta es amplia y variada, se agradecería una mayor atención a la calidad del producto, especialmente en la selección de fruta fresca de temporada y en las opciones dulces, donde un producto mejor curado y de mayor nivel elevaría notablemente la experiencia.
