- sriommanas (4/5): Disappointing stay Sept 22-26, 2025 - Location was good, but everything else was a letdown. Air cond stuck at 22–24°C and room felt stuffy, staff not helpful (had to pay twice due to booking issue), and only 2 pillows given even though booking included a child. We booked 4 nights but left after 1. Won’t be back.

- Chin-ching (8/5): - 地點真的好，除了房間角落略有潮濕霉斑（坐馬桶才會看到的洗臉盆下）其實沒什麼好挑剔的，價格便宜空間舒服。 不得不誇，櫃檯一位可愛的熊系男生，很親切的E人類型，又很貼心的提供雨傘出借服務，已經是第二次選擇入住的我感到開心，讓在朋友面前為我的選擇驕傲。晚上協助入住的櫃檯講解很清楚也服務好。
- Ayako (10/5): - 台北駅、夜市、24時間営業のカルフールから徒歩圏内でコンビニもバス停も近くにあり、ロケーション的には言うとこなしなので、台北滞在中の定宿です。 ホテルは古いですがリノベされており、もともとは高級ホテルだったのか、部屋もバスルームも余裕のある作りなのが良いです。 日本語の話せるスタッフの常駐はありませんが、なんとかなります。 連泊してもお水の補充はなく、次の日の午後4時までに掃除して欲しいと言うタグをノブにかけておかないと掃除はされません。(タオル交換は言えばしてくれます) 総合的にみてリピ確定です。 これからもお世話になります。

- Verified traveler (6/5): 비추천숙소 - 프론트 직원들은 친절하신 것 같긴합니다. 하지만 에어컨 곰팡이(에어컨 곰팡이라고 말하기 미안할정도로 그냥 새까만 에어컨), 욕실 곰팡이, 방에 먼지가 전반적으로 많고 침대에서 이상한 벌레에 물리기도 했습니다. 방음은 전혀 안된다고 보시면 돼요. 전반적으로 관리가 잘 안되는 듯한 느낌을 받았습니다. 아침에 히우스키핑을 맡기고 오후에 들어왔는데도 청소가 완료되지 않았고 청소하시고 나가시면서 문을 안 닫아주셔서 일정 마치고 돌아 왔는데 문이 열려있는 경험을 했습니다. 대만 여행에이 숙소는 추천하고싶지않아요

The location is excellent — just a short walk to Ximending, Taipei Main Station, and several MRT exits, which made getting around super easy. Our room was clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious. Staff at the front desk were polite and efficient. Overall, Guide Hotel Chunghua is a solid choice for travellers looking for a clean, quiet, and budget-friendly place in a central Taipei location.

- Hsien (6/5): 隔音不太好，服務不錯。 - 住宿隔音不太好，外面晚上有一點吵。 一大早 清潔工作人員很吵 如果淺眠的人 不太建議這裡 建議飯店 清潔工作特別是吸塵 可以考慮延後到早上9點或10點？ 如果可行的話。 至於櫃檯服務 還不錯，值得推薦就是。 至於是否包吃 飯店似乎都沒有特別說明，這點可以改進一下。 特別一點的是 住宿的房間 鎖似乎不太好，鎖不住？ （519）幾次不用卡都能開 也是挺神奇的。 可以麻煩櫃檯人員檢查一下吧。

- Shuji (4/5): - 連泊でも客室は清掃されないので、フロントに新しいバスタオルをもらいに行きました。しかしフロントのスタッフは、「清掃要求をしない限りハウスキーピングは客室に入らない。」と文句を言ってきました。私は客室を清掃してほしいと言ったのではなく、新しいバスタオルを欲しいと言っただけなのに、フロントスタッフ２名で私を睨みつけてきました。何故このような対応をされなければいけないのか全く理解できません。 しかも、客室に清掃リクエストボタンがありますが、そのボタンを押しても清掃してくれません。その事を伝えたら、ボタンではなくドアノブにリクエストを掲示する必要があるという回答でした。何のために客室にボタンがあるのでしょうか。入り口にある清掃リクエストランプは点灯したままでした。 フロントスタッフの対応が非常に悪いので、このホテルに宿泊しない方がいいです。

- RonManila (6/5): We will look for a better hotel - We booked two rooms for 4 nights with my family. The hotel is a bit old and far, 15 minutes walking to Taipei train station. There is an underground passage going to different places you wish to go. Breakfast is good if you are an Asian, located on the top floor. The view of the breakfast restaurant is like an abandoned, closed lanai garden deck. Next time we visit Taipei, we will look for hotels around Taipei Station

Didn’t like the breakfast. less options and the taste is not so good. And staff were not friendly and not helpful.
- teikleek (4/5): Poor room condition and bad staff attitude - 1) Furniture in hotel lobby appears old, dirty and unwelcoming. Not fit for a 3 or 4 star hotel. 2) I occupied a room on Level 7, with a big bathroom which looks like a disabled friendly room. 3) The queen size bed and the pillows were not comfy. Could not get a good night's sleep. 1st failure. 4) Air-conditioner was noisy. Manual controls are fixed on the headboard (directly above the head) and does not seem to work properly. 2nd failure. 5) Another room which another family member occupied was small and congested, long aisle with only enough space to fit a queen size bed. When requested to change the room, the hotel staff was unfriendly and did not offer any help at all, giving excuse that there were no more vacant rooms. 3rd failure 6) Breakfast included was ok but can be better. After finishing the meal, guests have to clear the table themselves and place all receptacles and waste at assigned areas 7) This hotel was booked by my travel agency. I stayed 2 more nights occupying a room on Level 8. 8) One of the lights in the room was not working. The same reception staff (a plump man on night shift) did not offer any assistance and giving excuses. He was grumbling about something, and I could sense his rudeness. When I questioned him about his attitude towards guests, he stopped his annoyance. 9) Cost of taxi (busy hour) from 101 Tower to hotel is NTD300. Not sure if this hotel is in a good location. 10) This hotel fails with its poor room condition and the bad staff attitude.
- kcarndt (4/5): No longer known by this name - Guide Hotel - Conveniently, the name of this hotel has not been changed in TA, and there is no need to guess why. As you can see, there are no reviews since 2020 and this is because people who have searched for it on TA by its new name would not be able to find it. This is the hotel I stayed at as there are remnants of the old name inside and it is located at the same street address. The carpet in the communal areas, such as hallways outside rooms, is so stained it looks like dead bodies have been moved off them. Why on earth they have not been cleaned is a mystery. Some lights in my room did not work and despite reporting it three times, no one came to look at it. I had to use a torch to see my suitcase. Blinds were mouldy, there was a layer of dust on the desk phone and there was mould throughout the shower area. On one day, the housekeeper did not even come, and I had to go and get fresh towels and take the used ones to the housekeeper. Breakfast was nothing other than a 'feeding frenzy' where food ran out, food was lukewarm and there was very little offered to suit a Western diet. The only positive was the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. I would not stay here again, regardless of the price.
- cecily64 (4/5): Fortune will Guide the prepared mind - I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The location is good with easy walking distance from a lot of various places, including Taipei Main station MRT and the Airport MRT. It is provides relatively easy access to Ningxia night market. Unfortunately, that's where the positive aspects stop. When I got to my room on the 6th floor, there was a repulsive stench in the room, which was no doubt due to the water damage noted on the wall in the hallway. There was no way I could spend 3 days in this room, and the reception staff was accommodating and changed my room. The next room, was relatively spacious, yet very dark, no matter how many lights I turned on. The carpet was dirty and stained and the bath was so small, it was very difficult to stand safely and shower. The carpet in the hallways is severely stained and is in desperate need of replacing. To me, it seems that no one takes pride in this hotel which is disappointing. The breakfast buffet lacks variety and is lukewarm and everything is written in Chinese. There is only a token offering for people who would prefer a western style diet breakfast. This is a hotel I would not be staying at again until it has a complete over haul.

- William (6/5): Chaotic and rude female staff - This hotel was recently acquired by a hospitality platform technology company 敦謙國際 founders during the pandemic and being converted to a limited-service kiosk-based hotel like many similar in Guide Hotel and Check Inn family of brands. Chaos is the best way to describe everything here and be aware that the staff doesn't know much about the hotel as they are all new, and room descriptions are highly inaccurate. I called before booking a specific room-type asking whether it has a desk and reliable internet because I was on a business trip. Phone staff told me yes to both questions but when I arrived, the room doesn't have a desk or any flat surface at all... and the room size is definitely smaller than the description here. When I try to resolve this, I was faced with some of the rudest female staff I have ever dealt with in my extensive travel experience. The young male manager/front-desk lead saved the day and addressed my issue professionally. I was given a room that may have gone through partial renovation or fix-up. Something look fairly new while others are in a disrepair. Half of the wall outlets do not work, so I had to resort to charge my phone in the bathroom. Housekeeping staff is unpredictable to say the least. They threw out things I kept on the desk, while left some garbage items uncollected. They also discarded amenity items like shampoo/body wash without replenishing them. Coming back to the hotel every night is like a surprise of what can go wrong!

- Catherine (6/5): - This hotel was just purchased by another hotel when I stayed here, the staff told me that they were short-staffed upfront. They seemed very chaotic and overworked. After checking in, I went up to my room to a sight of an open-door, messy, and uncleaned room. They quickly arranged another room for me within 15 min. Appreciate the staff's effort. I stayed on the 9th floor, it was quiet, the room was decent, but one of the 3 curtain panels was missing. Breakfast was a decent continental, not too many varieties of dishes. The location is very convenient, about 15 min from Taipei station by foot.
- paulmX6740TD (6/5): Disappointing - The location is great, walking distance from a lot of various places such as Beimen, Ximending, Tapei Main station MRT and the Airport MRT, and Ningxia night market. The smell that other reviewers complained about seems to have gone as I didn't notice anything. The staff also seemed to be friendlier and more helpful than what other reviewers experienced. The breakfast buffet was very good. With that being said the room was quite cramped and stuffy (and this is from someone who has stayed at a few Japanese business hotels). We didn't have a window and there were three switches on the headboard of one of the beds to control the air-conditioning with no instructions or labels to tell us what they did. So even in December I got hot and sweaty in my room at night. On the first night housekeeping didn't clean our room properly as they didn't replace the empty shampoo bottle or empty the trash can. However the staff at the front desk were able to address that problem. I'll definitely be coming back to Taipei, however I think I would like to try a different hotel next time.

- sebastiansX6201OW (2/5): God Awful Smell - When we got on the 10th floor, we immediately noticed a foul smell. The entire floor smelled like a humid bathroom. When we opened the room door, the smell only got worse. It was intolerably bad. The fact that the room had no window only made the matter worse. There was no way anyone could spend 4 nights there. We told the hotel staff the room is unlivable. The staff were aloof and we didn’t get the sense they cared about our well being. They did show us an equally bad room on the 8th floor. It was at the same position as the previous room, just 2 floors lower. That room also had a terrible humidity and smell to it, though not as bad as the 10th floor one. Of course, that room had no window either. We decided we can’t stay at that place because the humidity, smell, and lack of window made the entire place claustrophobic. The smell made it feel like we’d be sleeping in a public bathroom in a hostel. The staff didn’t seem to care about our comfort and basically said they can’t do anything.
- leahe784 (10/5): Great stay, great time - The hotel is located a few blocks away from Main station, along a wide thoroughfare. For first timers like us, it is not very hard to find and we were happy about it considering we traveled wintertime where temperature was a little brisk. The hotel itself is a little dated, classic and elegant without the boisterous crowds. Our room was a standard, no window but good sized, newly painted and not cramped at all.Bed was soft and comfortable, bathroom is also good sized with hot and cold shower. All in all, we had a very comfortable stay. Slept well after days of walking and sightseeing. We did not avail of free breakfast at the hotel but the area is surrounded by a lot of local restaurants, a Wellcome grocery across the street, fastfoods and the Ningxia night market in the vicinity. Will definitely stay there again if we go back with the kids.
- Y5957HTscotts (4/5): Don’t stay here! - I read the negative reviews and brushed them off as disgruntled people. I have stayed in other hotels at this price range and I have been happy. So, I figured this hotel would be similar. Plus I’m not too picky. The check in was pleasant but room wasn’t ready until 3pm. I’m not sure if they are just following policy or if the room wasn’t really ready. Either way, not a big deal. But don’t expect to check in early. The 7th floor hallway smells terrible like a bunch of cats urinated in here. Our room smelled a little better but not much. My biggest complaints are the excessive mold growing on the walls, wall paper and air con vent. I’m adding photos. Second big complaint is the air con did not work well. It only acts as a fan with no cold air. I read this in someone else’s review but didn’t think it would matter as it hasn’t been too hot. Boy was I wrong. The shower door is broken here and the bed sheets are startchy feeling. I have the place two stars as the bed was somewhat comfortable and not horrible. I just got down on the floor to do push ups and my hands had dirt on them when I got up. Overall this is not a clean hotel.
- 738joyl (4/5): Disappointing - Joy L Arrive on my Birthday 9-21 which is a Friday not all can speak English or pretend they don't on my last night I ask the front counter if they can help me with checking in on United Airline they stated no computer and that we not able to help you at all. I saw a desk with a computer at the lobby but never at anytime did I saw anyone working I travel a lot international and this is the 1st time a hotel can't provide this kind of help or services very disappointing also customer service need to improve. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone. can't control the heater I had to open the window the whole time that I was there 24 hrs. I ate one morning buffet cost $350 already discount I don't understand why is call BUFFET there is not much to eat at all. one kind of Cereal in a clear bow, only Watermelon. one kind of Chinese Fruit and nothing else is the worst Buffet I ever had. VERY VERY BAD please don't pick this HOTEL

Restaurant / bar they advertise is not open. 2nd floor restaurant is not from hotel, not much of English spoken. Beds are hard ann small. Double is queen size at best. Standard room had no windows. Superior is a little bit bigger with small windows. Will never consider that hotel again.
- 781debbiet (4/5): Disappointing - We stayed this hotel on the 1st and 4th night in Taipei. Room 721 (Queen bed) & 731 (Triple) on 1st night while Room 629 & 631 on 4th. Room 629 is much smaller than 721 and the wifi really sucks. Breakfast lack variety. It is just about 7 mins walk to Ning Xia night market, 7-11 and Watsons are easily found. Honestly, if it was not pre-booked through agent, I would not be staying for the 2nd time.

Breakfast are normal which is standard among hotels in taipei. Ning Xia night market is just a 10 min walk. While the nearest MRT (taipei main station) is just about 10~15 min walk. there's a supermarket opposite the hotel which open untill 2am, while a 24 hour convenience store is across the street too. YouBike station is just arond the corner (in front of Starbucks).the streets here will be quiet at night which is good for those who likes quiet night.
- _X1791TR (2/5): Not Satisfied this time around - This is my Sixth visit to Taiwan and my second stay at this hotel. I previously stayed here in September 2015 and was mostly satisfied. But my most recent stay was different. This hotel is good if all you need is a place to sleep and shower. The rooms have no luxuries. And as is often the case in alot of Taiwans cheap hotels a double bed is constructed by pushing two single beds together and throwing a sheet over the top to keep them together. . . (do they really think we won't notice?) Like most hotels and B&B's in Taiwan Fortune Hiya will provide you with the basics: A fridge, TV, safe, wifi, towels, some toiletries, slippers. There is a restaurant in the building but we didn't try it. No breakfast was included in our booking. The hotel is a short distance to Taipei Main Station and the mall. There are plenty of good restaurants around at very good prices. There is also a convenience store directly across the road from the hotel. And if you are really desperate McDonald's and KFC are about three blocks away. The staff in the hotel are friendly: but I didn't find them particularly helpful this time around. (No attempt to help with baggage or to hold a door open) This hotel offers rooms with and without windows. Definitely get a room with a window. The windowless rooms are claustrophobic at best. The room we had on this stay had a window. This was very important as the air conditioning seems to suck through air from other rooms. This meant that late in the evening and early in the morning our room was full of cigarette smell and smoke despite being a non smoking room. The air conditioning could only be turned on or off with no other adjustments possible. So having a window that could be opened to allow in fresh air was incredibly valuable in this situation despite the traffic noise. The room we received on our stay was obviously well used. Wall paper was beginning to peel off. Bathroom fixtures were showing their age. TV controls were a bit sticky.... By far the most irritating thing on this stay was the surcharge of $1000NT because we had a baby with us. They said it was for "cleaning". But we are still wondering what the extra $1000NT was for? Our baby didn't make a mess. There was no extra services provided. There was no extra bathroom linen. Our baby slept in the same bed as us... so no extra bedding was provided and our comfort was greatly reduced because of it. Basically the extra charge was a robbery. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel. There are so many options in Taipei. For the extra money we were made to pay we'd have been able to get better accommodation near by.
- 457bille (8/5): My stay @ the Fortune Hiya Hotel - The hotel is situated within easy walking distance to Taipei Main Railway station and the bus station, which makes it easy to travel around the city. There are shops nearby to Fortune Hiya Hotel and there are night markets nearby as well.
- _abpir2_ (10/5): Clean and tidy room - Good room service, receptionist and operator also helpful. Very near to NingXia night market within walking distance, it’s very near to Taipei railway station too! Within walking distance, there’s underground market too. Beside the hotel, there’s a delicious bubble milk tea loved by the locals. The restaurant for breakfast offer quite a good meal, portion just nice. But suggest to label every dishes whether it is consist with pork or not. Eventho im alright with any food, and my Muslim travel mates does not complaint too. sometimes I get confused when I want to show them the food they can take, it is hard to determine which food is does not contain pork. But overall is good, friendly restaurant staffs still willing to answer us whenever we ask them.
- 366linhd (8/5): Luxury as Taipei - I'm impressed by the Fortune from the hall to the room. All things are decorated very nice and cozy. The large hall with nice receptionists. The room is very cozy, neat and clean. The city view from the window is acctually great! The best location in Taipei city, go to Ximending, Shilin market for a few minutes. However, wifi is not quite strong (maybe there are many rooms in each floor, as I remembered there're 15-20 rooms)
- Drafter2D (6/5): In the heart of city - This hotel is nearby most of the MRT very convenient when you get off from Taoyuan Airport go direct to Taipei Main Station and about 10 min to hotel. The hotel kind too strict about check in at 15:00, my partner was sick when flying in at 10:00 and we have to wait until 15:00 so they could check us in.
- marc_martin (6/5): We expected a better service - Because of the lobby the first impression is good. However we booked for two nights and when checking in we were told that we have to change on Saturday morning for another room because the rooms on the 8th floor will be sanitized. We objected vehemently which finally resulted in staying in the same room for the second night. The room was nothing special, but worth the price we paid. The breakfast buffet was rather poor and only starts at 7 a.m. so rather late for people who have early departures.
