Guest Reviews
- LUIS (10/5): - Amazing
- Ramon (8/5): - Hotel have good location , hotel receptionist is very nice and helfull
- Elisabeth (8/5): - It was nice and clean, but a little bit small room, as we knew
- Lesley Angela (10/5): - Second time staying here so that says a lot. We had a small issue with air con in our room but reception sorted it out straight away. The hotel is central to the old town, rooms cleaned daily and great value for money. Will we stay again most definitely yes.
- MeLodie (10/5): Wonderful service and super convenient - The room is small but comfortable for one-maybe two. The shower is small and for a person bigger than my 5’10” 200 lb self I think that would be very uncomfortable. But the service and people were great. The guy working checked in on me via WhatsApp when I didn’t arrive when I said I was going to.
- Vacationtruths (6/5): One night stay - Stay was for just one night. The room smelled of smoke on check in and I could not sleep with the smell. I was moving on the next morning but I would not have stayed a second night. The room was otherwise clean. There was no balcony just an internal window with a view to an inner courtyard. They offer self service breakfast - bread, coffee, fruit. Okay for one night.
- RowanG299 (2/5): NOT recommended, if you want quietness, space and a non cramped feel - We booked this hotel at over 100£ a night. Expectations were high. Things rapidly deteriorated once we entered the room. No Soap, No Loo rolls. So had to go down and ask for it. Room was small. Shower and Toilet small. I did go and ask if we could be moved to a larger room but the reception person said all rooms are the same size. Reception was below our room. Could hear the door opening and closing all the time. Could also hear conversations. Needless to say, our night was NOT pleasant. It was cold. Trying to get the heater working was nigh on impossible. Spent the night under 2 duvet's. It was really upsetting for my partner who had a bad year, Father passed away and then a close friend. Sound proofing was zero. The bay door / window had no blinds so if one wanted some natural light, you were stright away exposing yourself. People using shower or flushing, you could hear the water cascade through the pipe
Frankly, if the charge had been so called "Budget" ie 50-60 ish range, one could overlook this. However, afraid, I personally will NOT recommend staying there if you need a quiet n warm place and have some room to unpack. Very CRAMPED. We decided to cut our loss's (had booked to stay 5 nights ) and left it after one night.
Forgot to mention - there is NO tea or coffee making facilities. Even BASIC hotels give you a kettle and some instant coffee
- slikrikk (10/5): Christmas at the Hotel Trebol, Màlaga - Fantastic stay at the Hotel Trebol. We arrived on December 23rd and left on December 26th.
The hotel was exceptionally clean, our room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff were very efficient, polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast is a light continental style, self service and self cleaning. If you like full English style breakfast, you will need to find a cafe that provides this.
Before arrival, I received a check-in form to complete, which I have never experienced before, except for air flights, I was was very impressed with this.
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all involved with this very nice and efficient hotel, for making this Christmas special.
- Trail08637774969 (10/5): This hotel is in the centre of and perfectly located to go to the port, indoor market and a host of - Wow! Premier Inn England eat your hearts out. Best bed and comfiest pillows ever tried , a lift and a free breakfast. Staff are welcoming and helpful and a really lovely stay and have booked to come back next month for the Christmas lights. It is very very reasonable price wise and for what you get and the location you are spoilt!
- Suzanne (2/5): Not for me - Mattress rock solid, room next to the lift and above the entrance so the noise level was high especially at night. The floors were polished tiles so every sound outside the room reverberated, loudly. The hair dryer stopped working after 30 seconds. No natural light in the room. I checked out after 3 days due to severe backache and lack of sleep. The gentleman on Reception was kind but unable to move me to another room. Location was good.
- Catherine (8/5): - The bed was super comfortable and the room very quiet! The manager went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and to ensure we had everything we needed.
The room is very small with a tiny bathroom, but it has everything we needed and the location was great!
- Denis (10/5): - very nice hotel, room are small but they are comfortable. a little noisy due to the street in front and public parking is extremely expensive 44euro per day
- Verified traveler (2/5): WIFI did not work. - Very disappointing. First of all I was given wrong instructions upon check in. I was emailed that I was on floor one instead of floor 3 so I was accidentally trying to open the wrong room. Second, the wifi did not work. The entire time that I was in the hotel room I needed to work remotely and I could not connect to the internet on my laptop at all. On my phone it would disconnect and only work 5% of the time. In the end I ended up spending way more than just the hotel cost on this one night because of all my data roaming fees that I had to turn on in order to work. I sent the hotel two emails and they did not respond until the next day. I do not understand why advertise free wifi if it does not work AT ALL. I am very disappointed and had many issues while trying to work which is not acceptable. Lastly on hotels.com it was advertised thwt there was 24/7 front desk service and that was not the case at all. They only have someone at the front desk from 8-5. Another false advertisement. I don’t think I’ll be booking over hotels.com again. I would hope to get some sort of refund for the amount spent on my roaming data during my stay of $30.
- Al (8/5): - Clean hotel, with a good location
- Qianwen (8/5): - all good
- mauricio (10/5): - Convenient and ver clean
- philstephens16 (10/5): Cristina is gold. - I booked this Hotel as I know how hard things can be for smaller independent businesses.
The reviews were good and the location is perfect.
The room was small but clean-lovely bathroom, great shower and TV with a range of channels from around Europe, that cover most of the more common nationalities of visitors to Spain.
But,the bed, mattress and pillows were amazing!
It's unbelievable how many places have awful pillows!
They also provide a quilt as opposed to just sheets-it was lovely.
Having said all that-if a business provides poor service then the above doesn't matter-im pleased to say that this isn't the case with the Hotel Trebol.
The receptionist I dealt with was Cristina-she was fantastic.
From the moment I arrived she was courteous, warm and professional-wasnt just ticking boxes-Cristina likes people and wants to provide the best for the guests-good service can be hard to find but this is what sets places like the Hotel Trebol apart.
Thank you Cristina and also the housekeeping staff that I encountered-another department that is worth its weight in gold.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not guest friendly - The reception closes at 6pm . The hotel sent me a code for entrance to the Hotel and our room .The entrance to the Hotel was good but when we tried to get into our room was a disaster , the code button number 3 kept sticking and it was in the code twice. Bottom line it took us 20-30 minutes to eventually get into the room and when we got into the room there was no key in the electricity switch. We had to trip all fall into our bed in the dark
While we were there I required access to the internet as my phone was acting up and I asked the guy in reception for access. He said he would ask management and came back and said they refused me .
- WayneS136 (10/5): A little gem - This hotel punches way above its 1 star rating. We stayed for three nights room was small at 16 sqm but adequate and spotless clean. Bathroom had a small shower with shower gel and shampoo provided, beds were made everyday and towels changed. The best thing about this hotel is its location it is within walking distance of all the cities major attractions, bars and restaurants. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room did have a small window that opened onto a small inner courtyard which gave some natural light. Air conditioning was effective and quiet, overall there was very little noise other than people in the rooms above moving chairs or running a shower.
- T8247VMmarkl (8/5): Good budget hotel - Had a lovely short break in Malaga. The hotel was very well situated for amenities and historic centre. Room very small though had comfy king size bed and good shower. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Breakfast basic but fine. Hotel ideal for a short stay.
Disappointed with the internal room with no view as this was not advertised. You need to double check before booking
- Ian (10/5): - Very convenient central location with friendly, helpful staff. Special thanks to Damian on reception for helping out with all our questions!
- O3574MMphilipc (10/5): We arrived for two days of fun in Malaga, which I fell in love with.such a sophisticated city, music, drama and opera. - From the moment we arrived, Damien took us under his wing He gave us all the local gossip we needed. Damien is a dream of a greeter , he finds out what you want to know and tells you . He is truly a professional. His cohort is Christina, a sophisticated Malagarien, we were told everything we needed to know and in future promised introduction to her uncle a famous Patron. This hotel is a sleeping box, no spa or dining room, just what I needed. The service is magnificent, the charm of Damien and Christina make this one star 4 stars, I do not add these lightly, thier compassion shows. We love this simple service sleeping box and encourage another users to do so.
I should also add that the hotel has been refitted in marble throughout. Last year.!!
Philip
Well traveled!
They will look after your luggage and call you cabs. Trust them.
- KenLiverpoolUK (10/5): Excellent location - Stayed for two nights in this well situated hotel. It’s in the old town and close to shops, transport and the main sights. Argentinian guy on reception was very helpful and was a good sauce of local information.
Doesn’t have the range of services you would expect in a hotel, lobby, bar and central lounges etc but it does offer breakfast.
My room was very clean, not cluttered and the bathroom had everything I needed.
- Oleg (8/5): - Very good hotel for couple nights
- PaulM569 (10/5): Good value hotel in Malaga - Stayed here for 1 night prior to catching plane from Malaga early the next day. This was perfect for what we needed. Right in the middle of old Malaga on a pedestrianised area. Easy to find. Nice and quiet at night. Slept well. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars within easy reach on foot. Breakfast started a bit late for us ie from 9 but there's a place just around the corner which did a good breakfast.
- A9414FGmauros (2/5): 100 euro deposit no no no no sorry - The hotel is nice but unfortunately ask documents befioe check in also ask you 100 euro as a deposit in case of damage . We got the refund only after 4 days . It was very stressful because you dont lnow if the hotel return the money or not . We go to relax not to get stress from you
- Nicolas (8/5): - it felt safe, was quiet and cleaned daily
- chrismX1076NB (6/5): Hidden charges - I found the hotel on Booking.com and the reviews were all good. I booked and paid for a double room. When I arrived they had put me into a single small room. To upgrade back to my double room with balcony I had to pay an additional €7 per day in cash. This left me feeling I’d been ripped off. That said the staff were friendly the Wi-Fi and shower were well above average . Small but comfortable room
- Derejsende (10/5): Absolutely recommendable - It was the second stay at Trebol, and once again a very pleasant stay. This time, we were four people in two rooms. Rooms facing the street have a balcony, which is very nice. There are several reasons for recommend this hotel:
- Location is excellent.
- Rooms are basic, but clean and absolutely fine.
- Very good value-for-money.
- Nice people in the 24h reception.
In short: Pleasant stay - and we will use this nice hotel again when visiting the charming city of Malaga.
- Conrad (10/5): - A very pleasant stay! It’s a simple no frills hotel, but it’s clean, the staff is helpful, and it’s comfortable. Would stay again!
- Andrea (10/5): EXCELLENT!! - Me he quedado un par de noches aquí y me encantó todo de ese hotel! Limpio, muy central y el caballero a la recepción es muy simpático!! Recomiendo al 100%…volveré!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is superb. Right in the heart of Malaga city centre.
Nice and clean room. Very quiet at night for a relaxing sleep with a comfy bed.
Nice staff at reception apart from one day that one of them was a bit rude.
Overall, is a nice place for a short stay.
- Derek (8/5): City stay - Hotel is a great location near the food market. It's very clean and presentable with 24hour reception. My only complaint was we asked to change rooms and they charged us €10 cash for doing so. Try and get a room away from the lift as it very noisey at night. All in all a good base for seeing the city for a night or two.
- MichelleC310 (6/5): Average for category - Clean, quiet, excellent location. Looks new, anonymous modern style. A block from the market, which was fun to patronize. Receptionist Tino was very helpful. Showers so small that every time I turned, the handle moved.
- Val (10/5): Fabulous - Immaculately clean, quiet, comfortable and in a great location. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again
- Alec (10/5): Easy and enjoyable - The hotel was one of the cheapest on the site so thought might be taking a gamble however the level of the service revived far outdid my initial expectations. The hotel are great with a 24 hour concierge who are always willing to help and in one of the best locations for those who want to stay in Malaga. Had a great holiday and believe the hotel played a large part in making the holiday so much easier and hassle free.
- chris (10/5): All round very good - Very good
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic staff, hotel and neighbourhood. - This is a fantastic place to stay. I would stay here again. Fantastic staff. Very safe and nice area. About a15-minute easy walk from train/bus station. Hotel is near a plaza, but away from the noise. Super close to the Mercado and a great variety ( in terms of price and menu options) of local bars, restaurants, cafeterias, coffee shops, panaderias, bus stop, taxis. Walking distance to the Alcazaba, paseo de los curas, and Picasso, Thyseen and Málaga museums. The only "negative" would be that perhaps there isn't a "very close" supermaket such as Mercadona. Room was refurbished and in top condition.
- Thomas (10/5): First class hotel.. - I REALLY APPRECIATED THE HELP FROM THE CONCIERGE. It made a large difference to my enjoyment of the holiday. Without the help of the concierge, my holiday would have been that much more difficult. The room, whilst small, had all facilities I needed and was comfortable & cleaned every day.
- JR (8/5): - Great Location and very friendly and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel Trebol has an excellent location in the heart of old town, close to marina, cathedral bars and shops. Room - has been clean every day; very small but clean bathroom. Staff in hotel friendly and helpful.
I only needed some facilities in the room as fridge and kettle to make first coffee in the morning.
- linchimes (10/5): Excellent Value and Location - Spent 5 nights in a spacious room with two.beds at Hotel Trebol. Located one block from the main plaza and adjacent to the large Benito Juarez market, the location was perfect for exploring. They also have a very friendly travel agency inside the lobby to help with travel arrangements.
Excellent value.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Recommended without hesitation. - Great location, spotlessly clean. Very helpful receptionist.
- Samsunplatty (8/5): Great location - Hotel Trebol is ideally located for the old town of Malaga with it's great collection of museums bars and restaurants.
The hotel is excellent value, spotlessly clean, with a warm and friendly welcome from the receptionist.
There's no food or drink available within the hotel, but you're 20 metres away from a great selection of bars and restaurants as well as the market.
- 470mettec (10/5): Great central hotel - This hotel is clean and central. Walking distance to most things in Malaga. The walk to the beach was approx. 25-30 minutes, but we did not mind. The staff was friendly and helpful! We would stay here again. Cannot believe that it is only rated one star.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Can't beat this place. Good price. Good location. Friendly staff. It's a few minutes to walk to the train station. Pool is a great place to relax.
- Peter (10/5): - Beautiful, spacious room with a very relaxing feel and a wonderful view from the private balcony. The welcome was friendly and the public spaces in the hotel very stylish.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Perfect location easy access to all amenities ie beach, resturants, bars and sights
- Tom (8/5): Ok - Close to the public market and easy walk around the city center. Power only works when the door card is in the box so no way to charge while you are out of the room.
- Karen (10/5): Great location - Brilliant location. Highly recommended.
- c (10/5): lovlly little hotel. Reception staff very helpful. - Ideal location for Malaga centre. bars. and restraunts all close by. A budget hotel with nice clean rooms.
we visited this hotel 5 times last year. just completed first stay this year. Enjoy. You need to take your own kettle and cups.no safe in room,
- Heather (10/5): Very central and convenient
- Lovely clean fresh room, smelt of clean linen. Lovely little balcony to view the street. The staff were very helpful and reception was 24/7. Felt secure and safe. Really good position next to the main shopping streets and all the cultural attractions. Artisan market was just down the road and great for snacks.
The higher rooms were quieter and room 302 and 303 were lovely.
- stephen (8/5): Good value, well located, average quality. - Staff were all friendly, helpful and pleasant. Great service!
- Kristen M (2/5): LOCKED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!! - We were extremely disappointed and expect a refund. The hotel advertises 24 hour front desk. We arrived to check in November 9th around 11:30pm and found the hotel locked, with no employee inside, and three other guests standing outside. Apparently the hotel employee left in the middle of his shift. We were exhausted from traveling and had to stand outside in the cold for 90 minutes (until 1:00 am!) until the hotel employee returned to his shift. He returned extremely drunk, stumbling, and covered in spit. He started screaming and yelling at everyone, cursing at us, and telling us to leave. I tried calling hotels.com to help resolve this, but unfortunately couldn't even hear over the screaming and then lost my connection. After some back and forth (him yelling in Spanish, and us trying to explain in English that we were trying to check in) we were able to get in our room. We complained the next day and were told "we are sorry, there is nothing we can do, it won't happen again". BUT, the same man was STILL WORKING the overnight shift our next two nights. After the fiasco the first night, we were afraid to leave our rooms in the evening, for fear of not being able to get back in our room. So we returned to our rooms by 9:30 every night, missing out on Spain's nightlife because of this employee. I'm extremely disappointed that hotels.com endorses this type of reckless behavior and awful customer service.
- Mark (2/5): Tiny room with faulty air con! - Fortunately only stayed for 1 night. Two out of three staff were very friendly and helpful but night time front of desk was appalling. Reported that air con was not working (in our tiny, stuffy room) at approx 5.00 pm staright after arrival and were promised it would sorted when we got back. Returned to room approx 11.30 pm to be confronted by a guy who loooked like he had been woken up. When I asked for the key and whether the air con had been fixed he just kept repeating TECHNICAL, TECHNICAL, and said it was too late to get fixed. The unit looked like it had not worked for a long time so am sure this is what they tell every guest.
- Jak (8/5): Small hotel close to market amd old town - Good - 24hour desk with helpful English speaking staff, very clean, able to leave bags day of check out. Air con. Easy walking distance to old town/sea front/market etc
Bad- not much. Some noise from building work next door but scaffolding was coming down so not an ongoing issue. Tea/coffee making facilities in room would have been nice.
- RAYMOND (6/5): Small room and thin walls - Walls are paper thin and could hear all noises from adjoining rooms. Also building work at property next door made having a sleep-in impossible. Room was also very small.
- Harry (10/5): Good hotel.. - It was spot on very clean comfortable staff very friendly--- only problem nobody told me the property next door was being renovated drills going a lot of banging going at 7 am every morning NO chance of a ly in should have asked for a refund...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great location. close to downtown area, restaurants, etc. I would stay here again. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean. front desk staff were helpful.
- Jiang Xiao (8/5): Very nice stay - Very clean and very nice apartment. Quite close to all of the important downtown highlights. Small room but very comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A place to return to. Great location, great staff. Very clean and confortable.
- Omar (4/5): - Noisy
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Budget Chioce - Just stayed here for 3 nights.
It's an excellent choice for the price.
Room was spotless and maid service every day to make the bed (properly !!!).
TV in room, air conditioning available (hot or cold).
WiFi was fast.
The only issue is that they are building something immediately next to the hotel.
If you book one of the balcony rooms at the front, you might get some noise.
I had an inside room overlooking the inside courtyard so never had any disturbances.
Hotel is in the middle of old Malaga.
Loads of fantastic bars, cafes and coffee shops.
I had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Carol (8/5): Good location - Hotel is on the edge of Malaga old town. Good clean quiet room, friendly staff and good wifi connection. Clean towels daily. No restaurant but plenty of cafes close by for breakfast and many bars and restaurants for dinner.
- Gail (8/5): Hotel convenient for shops and sightseeing - Hotel is very central for everything but just nicely away from all the noise. Would def recommend - this was our 2nd stay. Suggest a kettle, coffee etc and some toiletries! (did have 2 little bars of soap) but we will return again.
- Rosie (8/5): Helpful staff made the most of my stay in Malaga - Arriving a) late at night, b) on a public holiday c) where i couldn't speak the local language filled me with trepidation. Hotel Trebol has a 24 hour reception so with notice a late arrival was no trouble. Staff pointed me to what was going on, where might be open and fun and local customs.
They don't do breakfast- well Spain generally does not- but cafes are open in the squares surrounding. Even found an organic one with gluten free food round the corner. The Hotel is very close to the city market which is fun and full of fresh local fruit, cheese and veg to eat. For carnivores there is cured meat and fish at stalls and cafes. Award winning bakery close by on Calle Atarazanos has cakes to die for including gluten free ones. There's a crystal shop opposite, childrens playground and Folk museum across the square. And they really do not mind you popping in and out all day and evening sampling and resting. I am going back this week. My only negative was sound from bathrooms, and the neighbour practicing electric guitar one afternoon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel. Brilliant service would return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): City visit - Very pleasant overnight in this hotel, especially to see the Christmas lights in Malaga and to do some shopping. The hotel is perfectly located, just minutes walk away from shops, museums and restaurants in the city centre. The room was nicely decorated, very clean and amazing value for its location. The twin beds were very comfortable and the sheets crisp and fresh. The reception staff were very helpful and we were able to leave our bag safely in the hotel, after we had checked out, we collected it later in the day. This would be our first choice of hotel for our next visit to if we only wanted to visit the city for a day or two. We live in Spain so this was not a really a vacation. Perhaps the room might be a little small if the hotel was being used for a longer holiday. However, for our city break it was perfect.
- louise (6/5): Good location - Hi this hotel was good for our 2 night stay and were lucky to get a slightly larger room with a balcony on the front street. It was noisy but can't be helped as that what comes with a central location. Only 10 mins walk from train station. No safe in room but hotel very secure. Front door locked 24 hours. As friendly receptionist let's you in. Hotel great value .but to basic for more than two /3 nights in my opinion. Also a lot of building work going on around this hotel. Not the hotels fault.
- emerlinda (8/5): cute and clean hotel with reasonable - We stayed 5 night in this little hotel. we had a balcony which i requested ahead of time and we can see the shops on the other end and a little park on the other side. At first hard to find but once you found it it is very convenient to everything. The mercado which the market is just few steps and other food area and also there are lots of unending shops around which will end up by the sea shore. it's all walkable. The place is cute and clean. the lady who is cleaning our room is very nice and respectful together the employees at the desk all of them. they are very helpful and very friendly. The price of the hotel is very good . i can stay here again if i am going back to malaga, spain.I could just recommend if they can change their linens and towels to a thicker ones.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel for an overnight stay. - Good hotel for overnight stay if catching plane from Malaga airport. Small room but perfectly clean. Staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok for a short stay - Generally ok. Room was rather basic and small but adequate. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Anna (8/5): Great location. Great Value. Spotless. - This hotel is excellent value being very well located near the main shopping street and about a 15 minute walk to the marina/train station/bus station. Rooms are basic & compact, but spotless. Bed was comfortable. Great wi-fi, powerful shower. There are cafés on the doorstep. I would stay here again, and would recommend to other travellers.
- KIrk (8/5): Rocky start but stuck the landing! - Bit of a rough start at the hotel, as we were in a room with an air conditioner that squeaked and caught condensation from the bathroom, causing it to pool on the floor. That being said, the staff had somebody fix it quite soon, and after that, the rest of the stay was great! Staff are very kind and helpful. Location is great, close enough to walk to all the major tourist attractions and to the train and bus station if you're so inclined. Rooms are more spacious than what other reviews have said, never really felt crowded. Would definitely recommend for a cheap, hassle free stay in Malaga!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, very clean room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Central hotel, really good value. - Stayed one night and would definitely go back if in Malaga, as it's clean, comfortable and feels very safe and central.
- Frances (6/5): Value for money - Hotel fairly basic but excellent value for money.
- Keith (10/5): Excellent value for money - Hotel Trebol is in the centre of Malaga close to the shops and tourist sites. It is a small simple hotel that is well decorated and clean. The reception staff (Carmen and Alex) are polite and helpful . They speak excellent English. The room was small but had everything we needed. The towels were changed and the beds made promptly every morning. There are many cafe bars and restaurants near by. We loved churros and chocolate for breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, excellent location - Wasn't expecting too much being that it was a 1 star; just a place to lay our heads. Much more than a one star in my opinion! Extremely clean hotel and very modern. Rooms are small as are bathrooms but that was fine by me. Free wifi and TV with Spanish channels. No kettle etc. In room as you get in some hotels. Best thing is the location as it is a 5-10 minute walk to everything. Bars, tapas, the port, shops, cathedral all extremely near by. Would come here again.
Staff are also very friendly and helpful.
- Alison (8/5): Budget hotel - great value and service - Very welcoming and friendly. Great value for money.
- mike (8/5): - Brilliant staff and fantastic location in downtown Malaga
- Stephen (8/5): Pleasant hotel near town centre - Pleasant no frills hotel. Room clean and tidy. Five minutes walk from city centre
- Marc (6/5): Good basic - Clean, new, totally basic with no extras. Cramped bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location. Everything walkable.
- Peter (10/5): Quite hotel with a fantastic location in old town - The hotel has every facility on its door step.
Market 50 meters away.
Coffee shops/restaurants around the corner.
The hotel is simple but very clean and the staff are excellent.
You can get to every top tourist place in 15 minutes max
- Julia (10/5): 2 day micro stay - Had a fantastic 2 day stay at Hotel Trebol. Both my 15 year old daughter loved it. Clean and air conditioned rooms at reasonable prices.Highly recommended and staff were pleasant and helpful.
- Flaneur (10/5): Mix with the locals. - If you understand the `star` rating system then you will know that a one star can be so much better than a five star.
This little gem of a hotel shows you why. It's small clean, modern and friendly. Situated in the old town it is surrounded by cafes, bars, shops, museums and galleries. Malaga puts British cities to shame with it's Moorish architecture and winding narrow streets it presents a history lesson in respecting the past. If you love Malaga you will love this hotel.
- Berkley (10/5): One star hotel in Malaga that pleases - We were very pleased with this choice. The hotel is very close to the center of town and all the tourist sites. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The room and bathroom were small but adequate, and very clean. They gave us a room with a small balcony, which was nice. The place was a great value overall.
- Scott (8/5): good hotel - Beautiful place to visit hotel staff was friendly and helpful
- rosie (10/5): Handy for old town, museums, market and shops. - Stayed en route to mountains, handy from airport as overnighter.would like to have stayed longer to see museums, lots going on. Street singers serenading in town. Posh shops, artisan chocolate, art, photography.
Loved the market seeing ripe fruits and fresh fishes and shellfish.health food and crystal shop close by.plus plenty cafes. Owner gave me a map and ideas of where to eat authentic Andalucian fare. And where to go during siesta time as i arrived in afternoon.
- john (10/5): Good small hotel very central - If you are looking for a small well presented hotel with no frills and good staff to help with any questions, this is the place to go. Wifi available in reception and good signal quality. A good cafe across the square for breakfast, food, service and price well worth it.
- Joseph (6/5): Tight space and lighting too dim - The price was really that low, but acceptable. I would not go back again even it was central located. I did not like the space was just too tight, lighting was too dim, hardly had any desk space to write.
- Sarah (8/5): Gem of a hotel - Really lovely little hotel in a great location. A little noisey at times but other than that I can't complain. Great budget option, which is perfect when you don't plan to stay in the hotel anyway.
- Rose& Charlie (8/5): Good location great value for money - We stayed in the Trebol for three nights and we were very satisfied overall. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable however we had no window in our room which was very claustrophobic- the only opening was to an enclosed small courtyard/alcove.The air con was very effective but the only WIFI available was in the reception. Staff were all very helpful and the level of security was very reassuring. We would recommend the Trebol but would request a room with an window to the outside!!l
- D&L (10/5): Great value - We stayed 5 nights in the Trebol. Smallish but perfectly adequate and clean rooms, friendly staff and good central location. Excellent value for money.
- stokie (8/5): good value hotel overall - the staff are very helpful and friendly.location is perfect but plenty of building work, that starts early in the morning, going on the adjoing square.will definetly use again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location pity about the staff. - The location of this hotel was great, the room was pleasant. The staff were a bit miserable and dictator like.
- Mike (10/5): Updated cheap hotel - I enjoyed my stay at Trebol. It was in a convenient location and close to the major sites and the train station was not far off either. The staff was very helpful. No complaints here.
- NW (10/5): Cheap and cheerful - Everything you need for a cheap and cheerful weekend away. Clean basic rooms but all you need. 24 hr service on reception and helpful staff! We are planning a wedding in spain and so will be visiting a lot and will definitely be returning and recommending to others.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great value for money - Hotel was in a great location in a quiet neighbourhood. Very clean and comfortable. Great value for money.
My only complaint would be that the shower head holder was broken so you had to hold the shower head while trying to shower, also the shower head needed replacing as water was coming out all over the place oh and the handle to open the shower door was also broken.
- Annie (8/5): Perfect find - Perfect little no frills hotel and so convenient for everything.
