Guest Reviews
- Mervi (8/5): Iso suositus!
- Eeva (10/5): - Great location, wonderful and helpful staff.
- JongDeok (8/5): 찬절하지만 주차문제가 전반적으로 심각 - 주인께서 굉장히 친절하세요. 주차문제만 해결된다면 추천 드리고 싶습니다
- Nina (10/5): Good value for the money - Good value for the money. Good lovation, lovely terrace with a Sea view. Super nice host!
- Santi (8/5): - Felix the owner is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. He acts quickly on any issue about the apartment. The apartment is spacious and fully equipped with beautiful garden and terrace facing the sea. Also it is within walking distance to the old town. On the minus side it is very difficult to find where to park private or public. There are only three restaurants near the apartment and they are all upmarket. If you don't have reservation or booking you can't get a table. However there is a bakery below the apartments that is open for 24 hours and few meters away is a supermarket.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place with great location - The host was very pleasant and helpful. The 2 bedroom apartment was good for my family of 4. The only I would see as needing improvement was the double bed in our room which essentially a couch futon so it was very firm, almost too hard which made it uncomfortable. There was a 24 hr bakery opened right underneath us which was handy. Overall the location was great and I would definitely recommend it to others!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Drab and ugly-ish - The apartment is rather drab, with a really cheap-looking do-it-yourself refurbishment, and the street it is on is so busy it is hard to cross it. I would not have chosen it if I had known. Owner only takes cash.
- Efe (10/5): Perfect location - We have just returned from a short visit to Dubrovnic (spent one night) as our base was in Podstrana near Split. It was absolutely ideal for us as we wanted to visit the old town, enjoys the amazing views. Our host, Felix, was very welcoming and very keen to please. After a fairly long drive, we opted for a quick "fix" at the fast food bar below the apartment which we ate on the terrace of the apartment but there are 2 other restaurants close by. The room was all we needed with drinks in the fridge, an immaculate bathroom. The breakfast from the bakery downstairs (virtually) was the best way to start the day- highly recommended! The remparts offer breathtaking views but is a hot walk and takes a good hour (not good for vertigo sufferers or people with mobility issues). The old town oozes charm and history where you can relax in cafes, restaurants and indulge in souvenir shops but be warned, everything seems to be so much more expensive than in the rest of the country. The trip on the cable car (which you can catch from outside the old town) is well worth it and gives you a true perspective of Dubrovnic's incredible setting. After a "hard day's trekking, a swim in the nearby pebbly and rocky beach was simply wonderful. We could not have found a better spot to stay especially when you compare the prices at nearby hotels. We would go back there without hesitation.
- Alan (8/5): Dubrovnik - Great place in an amazing town.
- Susannah (8/5): overall great - Enjoyed my stay very much.
The owner is charming.
Location great for me, as not in busy centre, there are plenty of buses to get there, or walk. Easy to get to port and peninsula too.
Although on main road, you cant see it or hear it really, as it is at first floor level and there is a big terrace outside window.
Only thing I didnt like was the carpet in the room, would prefer hard floors.
- Melissa (10/5): Wonderful Stay at Dubrovnik Apartments Kovacec!! - We are really surprised by the negative reviews. Felix is absolutely wonderful and the room we stayed in was comfo, cozy and equipped with everything you need! Location is great--just a short 10 minute walk to the old town. The bakery downstairs stays open 24 hours and is DELICIOUS! We want to thank Felix for making us feel so welcome and giving us such a wholesome experience her in Dubrovnik! We will DEFINITELY be back!
- Kerry (8/5): Excellent Host, Great Location - It was a great place to stay, within walking distance to old town. The shared terrace has ocean views and was a great place to relax. Felix was an obliging and friendly host and we appreciated and enjoyed the welcome drinks in the fridge when we arrived. I would definitely stay again.
- Pascale (10/5): Perfect for a family - Great service, clean and spacious appartment!
- Andrew (10/5): Everything you need. Great stay! - Felix is an incredibly genuine and helpful individual. He upgraded our apartment because it was low season and the space was amazing. Very modern, clean and has everything you need. Highly recommend staying here! Only a 10-15 minute walk to old town or you can take the bus for 12 Kuna ($2).
- Tom (2/5): - We have been traveling for about a month by car mostly in Eastern Europe and all of our accomadations have been good to very good with the exception being Dubrovnic.
- Marko (10/5): AMAZING - Still can't believe how perfect of a location this was.
Perfect location for wanting to explore the old walled city that is Kings Landing (old town of Dubrovnik). 20 minute walk to old town. Great bakery and restaurants within a minute of the apartment.
Has an amazing hidden beach within 3 minute walk that has a cove you can swim in plus climb the rock wall for some cliff diving.
As for the apartment and it's host, very nice individual who takes great care of his guests and their rooms-- very clean room/apartment.
Amazing price too.
- evelyn (6/5): Convenient & good value. - We enjoyed our stay here & enjoyed relaxing on the terrace after much walking around sightseeing. Felix was very helpful & always responded right away if we had any requests or concerns. The location was great easy walk to old town & downtown & port are & bus station. Bus stops were close by for buses to Lapad or other areas if you got tired walking. Bakery downstairs was also very welcome.
- Pauline (10/5): - The apartments are between Lapad Bay and the Old Town, with a small shingle/pebble beach 5 minutes in front, down 2 deep sloping roads, and steps, but it's worth the effort. There are a couple of restaurant’s nearby and a bakery downstairs, with a supermarket and bus stops 5 minutes down the road.
Felix is very helpful, even helping me look for what I wanted when I met him in the supermarket.
- Tak kuan (10/5): Value for money, enjoyable stay - The Owner Fleix was indeed a very kind and good man. Speaks English well and gives very good recommendation on surrounding. Very near to Plit Old Town, Bus 4 is 3 mins from Apartment. Laundromat & Supermarket is also nearby.
Felix made the whole stay very "home coming"
Will come back again
- Ryan (8/5): Dubrovnik, save the money of old town hotels an - 10 minutes walk from old town, quiet, great owners
- David (8/5): Very helpful - It was a bit hard to find. More an apartment than a hotel. Very helpful with advice and it made our time a lot easier. Great to have air conditioning as the heat was unbearable. The third bed was not a proper bed, so was not quite as comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location for beach and old town - Great apartment between the beach and old town, Felix is very helpful and having the 24 hour bakery underneath is handy to get a snack or breakfast. Will definitely be returning!
- Angelica (10/5): 2 nights in Dubrovnik - We stayed in Dubronik for 2 nights. The host was very nice, helpful and flexible. The location is quite good, it's about 15mins walk to the old town. From old town to there, I would suggest you to take bus (no.4), it takes about 5 mins (get off in 2nd/3rd bus stop). We booked a family room for 2 of us, very spacious, clean...they have everything you need. There is a bakery shop right next to the host, a convenient store around 2 mins walk and there are couple nice restaurants near too. I would definitely come back!
- Aakash (8/5): Very nice little appartment - We stayed in the family room for one night. It had 3 single beds (1 was probably a sofabed) in the living room and then another room with a double bed. Small kitchenette with fridge and oven/cooker but no microwave. Overall a very clean and functional place. When we arrived the wifi and bathroom light weren't working but the owner came alond immediately to fix things and see that everything was okay. Also he helped find some free nearby parking.
Only slight issue is that in the immediate area there aren't too many shops other than a bakery downstairs and also a fairly nice hotel restaurant across the street (meals 150-250 kuna)
- christine (10/5): Kovacec Apartment - The apartment is only 15 minutes walk from the walled city of Dubrovnik so was ideal to stroll out in the evening to eat in the lovely restaurants both inside and outside the walls. There is a lovely pebble beach about 5 mins walk from the apartment which was ideal. Felix, the owner is always there to offer tips and advice, he is really friendly and welcoming, leaving us some refreshments in our fridge for our arrival. Mrs Felix, also gave us a plate of her delicious home baked cakes on two occasions which was a lovely, friendly gesture. There is also a bakery underneath the property but you don't hear any noise from it as the apartment is set well back. The best thing about the bakery though was being able to buy freshly baked pastries every morning and sitting on the terrace of the property, having breakfast gazing at the lovely blue of the Adriatic. All in all an excellent location for anyone exploring Dubrovnik.
- Josephine (10/5): Fantastic! - The Dubrovnik Apartments Kovacec is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the city for several days. Marko, the owner, is an absolute gem, always available to advise or just to chat. Our apartment was comfortable and cozy, and the air conditioning was the best we encountered in Dubrovnik, full stop (no small thing in August!). The neighborhood is great -- it's a 10-20 minute walk to the hustle and bustle of the Old Town, and you have everything you need for a comfortable stay right there. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Dubrovnik!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to old city, about 15 minutes walk. - It was difficult to find the hotel, and not easy to park nearby.
- James (10/5): Proximity to Old Town - Location is good - close to the Old Town. The house has a great seaview. The host, Mr Kovacec, gave us welcome drinks upon our arrival. He is very nice and he gave us useful advice on our trip.
- gail (10/5): June 2015 - my husband and I had a wonderful time in Dubrovnik. felix made our stay very special. He greeted us with a beer on his patio which had a beautiful view. he booked us 2 tours at a reduced rate. his wife baked us a dessert. got us a taxi to the airport with one of his friends so it was a bit cheaper for us. we were able to do laundry there. there is a little bakery downstairs and 2 restaurants a block away. not too far from the old town. about a 15 min. walk. we would definitely stay there again
- Charles (8/5): Dubrovnik Apartment - Apartments. Not a full service hotel. Excellent location, 15 minute fast walk to old city. Long up hill back. Wonderful host. Very congenial and helpful.
- Fooi Man (10/5): Apartment with view of the Adriatic Sea - The owner, Felix is very helpful in getting a car parking space which is so short in Dubrovnik. The apartment has a washing machine and a laundry service downstairs to dry our clothes as it was raining quite a bit during our stay. Cost 65 kunas to dry a load which is not too much as it saves us time and we could collect them in the evening. The 24 hrs bakery downstairs is also handy. Convenient location. Would stay there again.
- SilviPeter (10/5): Wonderful hotel in Dubrovnic. - We stayed at this lovely hotel and had a great experience. The room was very comfortable and super clean. It is well located, half way to the old city and half way to the bus and ferry station. The owners were very kind, not only did they help us with anything we needed, but also they were extremely attentive. It has a nice terrace with a lovely view, where you can seat at any time of the day just to relax and enjoy....
- Claire (10/5): Excellent location, beautiful terrace and view. - Felix, the proprietor and his wife were so helpful with our 3-day stay; they couldn`t do enough to help.
The room was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed for a very enjoyable stay, and the terrace and view amazing!
The 15 minute walk into the Old Town is easy and very pleasant , and Felix found us parking for our hire-car a few minutes walk from the appartment.
24-hour bakery next door, supermarket 2 minute walk, hotels and bars across the road, but not noisy. Even though thr prtment is on a busyish road, there is no noise in the room.
Thoroughly recommend this place for a lovely, value-for-money stay in Dibrovnik.
- Valentina (10/5): amazing experience - we had a fantastic time! the apartment was perfect walking distance to everything and the view was undescribeable!! would definetly go back again
- pak kin (10/5): Nice, friendly service - Very welcoming owner (sorry forgot his name) greeted me with a glass of home made cherry liquer. Made me feel at home and told me places of interests and how to use public transport. About 10 minutes walk to Old Town and there is also a beach nearby although it was quite hard to find the entrance which was down a side road next to Belle Vue hotel. Rooms were basic but clean and price was very reasonable when I stayed in mid May (297 Kunas per night)
- Kathy (10/5): Beautiful view with gracious host - Felix, the owner and manager, could not have been more helpful. He is kindness itself and arranged a driver for us to get to the airport, which was extremely pleasant and inexpensive. If you want a lovely, convenient, and economical stay in Dubrovnik, stay at the Dubrovnik Apartments Kovacec!
- LUIZ RAFAEL (10/5): Most complete room! - I super recommend these apartments. The host, Srecko is a really nice person. Tries the best to make you fell confortable. Gives you all the info you need. Try to get the maximum info you can get with him because it was not easy to find sympathy around.
The room is the most complete I've ever seen. has a fridge, hair dryer, cloth dyer,.. he even let us a welcome beer!
The Con is that the old town is a reasonable walk of +-20mins. Nearby there's a small market, and not farther there's a bigger market.
- Joseph (8/5): 2 Night Dubrovnik Great Stay - A fantastic 2 day stay in Dubrovnik, complimented with this very good accommodation 10 min walk from the beach. Hotel overlooking the sea, was very clean with a nice sit-out terrace although shared with owners Felix who was very nice and help full. Felix emailed us with all the options how to get to the property and was waiting on us. Felix even helped us with our luggage both on arrival and departure when he booked our taxi to the coach station to leave for Split. The location is great, relatively quite with normal traffic passing. Definitely would stay there again. Glad the white vinegar worked. Thanks felix
- Phil and Jacqui (10/5): Kovatec Dubrovnik - The location is absolutely fantastic with easy walking distance to The Old Town, the harbour and Lapad. The beach is a short walk away albeit down many steps, but worth the walk. Felix was an absolutely fantastic host giving us great advise where to go and see with easy directions. The Taj Mahal a short walk from the hotel served excellent food, and the bakery beneath catered us well for cakes and bread, albeit not a patch on Felix's wife's cake which we received as we unpacked on the first day. ,
- jean (8/5): nice owner, good location - That was second time we staying in this apartment. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We were a bit wrong about the location of this apartment on our last stay. Once we know the area better, we realised that this apartment is located in the very centre of Dubrovnik and walkable to both old town and centre bus station. The room was a bit small but were very clean.
- jean (6/5): Friendly woner over priced inconvenient location - We booked 3 nights for this apartments. First 2 were when we arrived at Dubrovink and the third night is this Saterday when we are going back to London. The room was clean but the bathroom was very small. We stayed for 2 nights but they didn't change our towels and didn't clean the room.
One would expect a better service for this kind of price which is £74 per night. We pay the first night and last night for £74 per night and the second night was a reduced price from Expedia for £64 a night.
- Tom (8/5): Nice apartment - fantastic host - This apartment is located about a 15 minute (way down the hill) / 20 minute (way up the hill) walk from the old city. The apartment itself was very clean and has a lovely roof terrace where you can relax and view the beautiful sea views. The terrace is ideal to have breakfast (there is a bakery located below the apartment, less than one minute walk away) and evening drinks before heading out for dinner.
The owner of the apartment is a man named Felix. He is a great host - his English is very good and he was able to provide useful tips about the city and gave us good recommendations for places to go and things to see. Felix also greeted us on our first night with a bottle of wine which we happily drank on the aforementioned terrace! I e-mailed Felix prior to arriving at the apartment to verify the booking and detail an estimate of arrival time - he was quick to respond.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant 15 min walk to old town. - Friendly welcome and overall pleasant stay. Ended up staying there again a few days later when we were back in town.
- Devin (10/5): Good stay in busy Dubrovnick - Our apartment was in a good area about a 15 minute walk from the old town. There is a very nice 24 hour bakery downstairs with plenty of choices including pizza by the slice. Our host was super friendly and helpful. He suggested the best things to do this time of year and helped us to find local parking. We would stay there again but would make a point of going in the summer when we could really enjoy the sea. The winter may have been better for sightseeing as it was not hot and not so crowded with tourists. WIFI was good and the 5 bed apartment layout was nice for our family and included a small clothes washer and a refridgerator
- Amy (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - Good hotel. Staff very friendly. Only a short 15 min walk to old town. Local buses stop at front door. Great views from communal balcony. Loved my stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great place - We really enjoyed our stay in Dubrovnik. Felix was a great host. Highly recommended!
- Liz and Ryan (8/5): Good location, clean, kind owners - We enjoyed it very much. It is about a 20 minute walk to the old city of Dubrovnik and has excellent views from the balcony of the annex buidling where we stayed; The wifi also worked and we used the kitchen for breakfast and snacks. The owner offered us lots of brandy and also let us leave our bags there and check in early. They also helped us arrange a taxi that was cheaper than the going rate from most hotels (200 Kuna to the airport). Overall, we enjoyed it very much!
