Guest Reviews
- Wenndee (6/5): - No breakfast offered. Only instant coffee in the lobby. No coffee in room. Disappointing. No breakfast offered.wifi only available in the lobby. Couldn't connect in the room.
- Manuel (9/5): -
- Guillermo (5/5): - Tres mauvaise aptitud de la part du personnel
- Fedrick92 (8/5): -
- Ivo (8/5): - Hotell on Ultimari sadama lähedal kus läheb laev saarele Isla Mujeres. Hotelli lähedal on palju söögikohti. Hotelli tuba on väike aga mugav, tubade eest suured rõdud.
- sam leslie (10/5): Beautiful hotel. - The hotel was outstanding, the cleaners were in every morning cleaning the rooms & changing the bedding. All the staff were friendly even though they could only speak Spanish. The hotel was straight across from the beach, shops & bus rides. I would definitely recommend the hotel del sol. The beds were very hard & rather uncomfortable.
- Buona posizione rispetto a Porto Juarez. Struttura abbastanza vecchia.
- Rachel (8/5): - We received a good option for the cost. We liked the closeness to the ferry.
- John (5/5): Passable - Clean newly decorated rooms. No breakfast facilities although booking.com sold it as breakfast included.
Beds very uncomfortable.
- Stefan (5/5): Okay for a very short stay. - The hotel is only 5 minutes from the ferry port wich is probably the only reason to book your room there if you want to spend the weekend on isla mujeres without booking a hotel on the island .The staff is very friendly and will help you if you need something. There is a public beach 5 minutes to the left of the hotel with some amazing local restaurants wich serve the best and freshest seafood I have ever eaten.I can recommend Patcho’s , that’s where we ate but I am sure all the others are just as good.A must go to place if you have booked a stay at the hotel The hotel has seen its days. The rooms are Okay for a short stay. The beds are the worst, the mattresses are very old and uncomfortable also there are no amenities except some freeze dried coffee inside the breakfast room (no breakfast available)no small fridge inside the room so don’t bring food that needs cooling
- Heidi (6/5): Adequate, clean accommodation if leaving for Isla Mujeres the next day. Shop across the road. - walking distance to the Isla Mujeres ferry no restaurants nearby.
- Marleny (10/5): - Awesome location, within walking distance to ferry and restaurants. Great staff with excellent customer service. The only issue is that there is no hot water sometimes, maybe due to the water heater not being on or not big enough to warm the water for all guests.
- Sofia (6/5): - This is a reasonably priced hotel with decent rooms. The pillows are the worst I’ve ever seen and it’s in a bit of a sketchy area weird to access the parking lot. There is construction going on all around so there’s A LOT of noise at unreasonable times. However, staff are friendly and it was clean and walking distance away from a nice beach. Its good for a cheap option!
- Yuri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Minoh (10/5): - goof
- Kevin (4/5): - I think its over priced for the minimal quality.
- Yoana (5/5): Passable - It has all the basic necessities. It was very cramped. The water from the shower didn't have enough pressure to shower normally. The airconditioner was old and pointed towards the bed, which is the only possibility, because the room is very small. The near beach is not the best.
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (1/5): Grim - We booked the property because of proximity to the ferry port. I expected something basic for this price however our room was dank, dark and uncomfortable, with only one pillow provided each, threadbare towels and broken furniture. The restaurant was closed both in the evening and the next morning and there are few breakfast options around. The room was not cleaned after the first night. We checked out early . Staff were dismissive of complaints.
- Tiffiny (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (8/5): Good place to stay - Spent one night. It was quiet and clean. Someone was at the desk at all times.
- Paredes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maryam (1/5): Bad - Close to the bus station It’s not close to the main beaches
- Shantell (3/5): I didn’t stay I left within 2 hrs of checking into the hotel - The front desk clerk was real nice, and it was extremely quiet what I was looking for The windows and doors wasn’t secured can be easily broken into could not use my portable lock on door, this hotel was also in the hood
- James (10/5): Exceptional - I was pleased with the staff. Very friendly and helpful.
- Mauricio (7/5): Good -
- Timothy (8/5): A clean, affordable, no-frills place to stay - Quiet, clean, private patio area, free parking. Short walk to the main passenger ferry to Isla Mujeres. A few small shops and restaurants nearby. No view. Access to the beach was not very easy. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. Some of the descriptions I read mentioned a bar and restaurant on site. It looks like this used to be the case, but not anymore. There is a port directly across the street from the hotel, but this is only for tours and fishing and snorkeling excursions.
- Wes (8/5): Very good - Ten minutes walk from Isla Mujeres ferry. Toilet leaked water onto the floor with every flush. Staff was helpful in moving me to another room.
- Dre (6/5): Pleasant - Nice location near beach, private parking in front Very hard beds, röoms basic 2.0
- Maya (8/5): Clean basic and good value accommodation - Clean and comfortable, friendly staff No breakfast, and inadequate rain protection on the door - a bit of a flood during a bad storm
- James (7/5): Does the job - just - Nice size room and close to ferry port Wifi was down for a while and the tap did not work so had to use the shower!
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- claudio (8/5): - 👌
- Decrepi (6/5): - It was fine
- William (5/5): Nice stay but could be better - Property is basic but nice in its complex.
The room was fairly clean and bed comfortable Hot water not always available when showering - no fridge in the room
- Fernando (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (1/5): Prison cell - Nothing Thank goodness we only stayed one night, the room was in desperate need of an update, the bed was horrendous it was like trying to sleep on the floor, I had to actually check that I was even lying on a mattress, don't get me started on the bathroom or I'll be here all day.
- Vitalii (7/5): Good -
- Anapaulaclaudio (7/5): Good - Very close to the ferry to Isla mujeres The mattresses are very hard and the bathroom door didn't open fully it bump into toilet.
- Frances (7/5): Comfortable stay and friendly helpful staff - Very friendly staff - comfortable and suited our one night stay
- MICHAEL (6/5): - We missed the last ferry back to Isla and desperately needed a place to stay. Toilet was a little weak shower door didn't close a little musty smell the springs in the bed hurt a bit ....but it was fairly clean and safe and got us out of a late night jam
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Juan Carlos (10/5): - This property is right in front of the ferry terminal to isla mujeres and there is always convenient public transportation to the center and hotel zone beaches, the staff are helpful and it’s a good economic option,
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Ashley (7/5): Good - Nice and comfortable. Ideal for a short stay, the staff are exceptional.
- Petrine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Jaime (7/5): Good -
- Regan (5/5): Passable -
- Sophia (9/5): Perfect stay if going to Isla Mujeres - Ferry direct in front of the hotel. 24h reception. Helpful and friendly Hard to find something to eat around the area in the evening
- Ange (9/5): Great, I recommend - Nice room, friendly staff
- Vasilisa (7/5): Good value for the price - The location was great if you are going to travel to Isla Mujeres or want to be in a less touristy spot - there is a local beach just 10min walk away, nearby restaurants and a small convenience store just across the road. The room was clean, they changed towels and made the bed every day. Jetway ferry is just across the road and Ultramar about 10min walk away. There are also cabs just outside the hotel, as you will need to commute downtown if you want to take any day/trips excursions, because most of the tour operators do not offer pick up from this hotel. It was quite nosy, considering there was construction work just outside the hotel. Many staff members did not understand or spoke English, so it was quite frustrating sometimes, although I used an online translator to explain what I wanted. everyone was very polite and as helpful as they possibly could.
- Rdlf (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rdlf (5/5): Passable -
- Tudor2door (7/5): Good -
- Tatiana (9/5): Superb - The staff was kind and helpful. The hotel is near the ferry to Isla Mujeres. It is worth the money if you need to stay for 1 or 2 days in Cancun.
- Melissa (5/5): It wasnt terrible but, with no hot water, I wouldnt stay again. - it was close to the Isla Mujeres ferry.
The lobby looked nice with its glass doors.
Room was large and furnished nicely. There was no hot water and water pressure was low. It smelled of cleaning chemicals.
Linens on bed were of poor quality.
- BONNIE (10/5): - Basic accommodation but clean & convenient
Great location right beside the ferry terminal to Isla Mejeres
- David (8/5): Good for the pricc. - There is no breakfast 6:: AM the banging noise begins
Could be the maids or guests in distant rooms, way to noisey the walk
Way lights are to bright, lights up the room to much
- Amit (4/5): Disappointing - free water refill, free Netflix in the room very far from everything, needed a 20min taxi to get to the mall or to the places hang out at. the bathroom and toilet weren’t so clean, I saw a couple of hairs there.
- Erika (8/5): Very good -
- Teena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerrissa (1/5): My stay at Hotel Del Sol was very bad, we did not like a second of it. Do not recommend. - I didn’t like much anything of this hotel. The bathroom was terrible. We got there and there was pieces of concrete on the floor and the shower head was malfunctioning. The shower head was spraying the entire bathroom. The bathroom is not safe, once done with the shower the floors are extremely slippery. Therefore, the step that is placed at the bathroom entrance is very dangerous so someone can be prone to slipping and falling. The beds weren’t too comfortable, I wasn’t comfortable sleeping on the pillow cases or the sheets.
- Olena (9/5): Superb -
- Nonametodisplay (8/5): Very good -
- Tea (8/5): Very good - The hotel has amazing location, in front of ferry to Isla mujeres. We stayed one night in Cancun just to visit the island. They kept safe our luggage until our return:) Room was basic but clean. Friendly staff. Nothing
- Kinga (8/5): Recommended before a ferry trip! - Small room, but clean and cozy. Very close to the ferries.
- Amy (10/5): would stay again. - There’s a 24 hour check in which is what we needed as we arrived at 5:30 in the morning. quick easy check in, nice hot shower and plenty of space. little bit noisy from the boats that go from over the road.
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eliska (7/5): Good - personal was super nice and heplful.
- Lisa (7/5): Good - noisy outside the room due to outdoor seating and late socialisers
- David (9/5): liked it, rebooked for my next "border run" - location. safe quiet no coffee in the morning
- Ambra (9/5): Superb -
- Julieane (8/5): great stay, so close to restaurants and the ferry terminal there’s taxis outside always offering assistance and the staf - the hotel was across the road to the ferry terminal which takes you to isla mujeres and close to the OXXO shops and close to restaurants and the local beach. a little dated but that’s the only thing to fault
- Fernando (10/5): - Everything is superclean and the staff is very friendly
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- indalfer Alfaro (4/5): - Good location horrible hotel
- Sevindikd (8/5): Very good - Perfect location for sea trips, isla mujeres or snorkelling or shark whales, close to comperatively quieter beaches, there's a bus ride to city center easily. Staff are very nice, helpful and they speak English. Not sure from where, i had some noise issues early in two mornings. This is not a deal breaker of course for me. For Tulum and similar trips they pick you up so early and return you very late. (those are full day trips and transport is arranged by tour provider anyway)
- Jonas (7/5): Good -
- Xiaoguang (8/5): - Reasonable price in the area.
- brian (10/5): - Great for price
- Arturo (10/5): - I have no regrets staying at Hotel del sol. It’s location is everything and very reasonable!
- Gary (8/5): - Friendly and polite staff, good house cleaning and clean.
Not close to anything in particular, no restaurant on premise. Bus and taxi services are available. We were comfortable
and will stay there again.A rental car next time
- catherine (10/5): - Staff is very pleasant and accommodating
- Sharon (6/5): Quick place to sleep before moving on - Desk clerk minimally interested. Parking just fine. Neighborhood not convenient to dining options. Walls paper thin. Cockroach on our door :( OK for a quick place to sleep before moving on.
- Danielle (8/5): - I liked how close it was to the ferry and the people there were friendly. The night staff guy was nice I was booked into a room that had no lights and he moved me into another one for some reason the air conditioner was not as strong as the other room but I still liked the room. Would stay again it was close to the ferry.
- Patricia (8/5): - Meets your needs for quick transport to/from ferry. Clean and friendly staff.
- Samuel (10/5): - The personal was helpful at all times.
Marco at the front desk went above and beyond his way to make our stay enjoyable.
- MARTIN (8/5): - Good location if you are taking the ferry. Overall it was great for the price. Only negative was no fridge in room and spotty wifi.
- Jason (4/5): Functional but super basic - For the price it worked ok. Just very basic place to sleep, but nothing remotely warm or comfortable about it. Hard tile floors. Thin mattresses on springs. We just stayed there because we missed the ferry and needed to catch it the next morning. For the price it was fine and the people were nice. Just don’t expect anything fancy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean cool rooms at a value price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I was within walking distance for all my essentials !
- Expedia (10/5): Good, but closest beach is closed - Quiet, clean, great location a short walk to a public beach. The rooms were clean and well kept. A couple downsides: the closest beach to the property (right across the street) is closed with barbed wire around it. You need to walk down the street 5 min to get to the beach. At night, buses use the turnaround outside to back up and make loud beeping noises. It's not terrible, just something to be aware of.
- Pascal (10/5): Recommended - Great value! - Clean, convenient, and a great value! Close to the beach, especially if you have a vehicle. Staff was very friendly. Parking was on the street, but easy to find in the evenings. Would come back here again next time we come to Isla Mujeres.
- jwanihad (10/5): - Location, Reception Staff were both excellent. Close to the beach, ferry, and a bunch of places to eat.
- Cathy (6/5): - Fine for the price. Quite clean. No extras like shampoo or blow dryer.
