Guest Reviews
- DIDIER JEAN MARIE (6/5): I'm a regular custumer. I complain only about the quality of the coffee. - friendly and Good wellcome This is an Hotel working with many worldwide custumers. Please make real drip filter coffee beside your inconvenient local one. Thank you. I'm un regular custumer expecting next time start my days with real coffee. Vietnam is a major coffee exporter in the world!!!

- Gregory (8/5): Great for short stays (from my Tripadviser review) - At first sight the 'tunnel' entrance looked a bit daunting but fear not! The entrance staff are welcoming and lead you the the main reception.
I found this hotel to be a well-run, reasonably priced place to stay for 4 days. Although I had asked for a room on an upper floor I was asked to wait in a 2nd floor room for a couple of hours until an 8th floor one was available. No real issue.
Room 802 was larger than average with safe, refrigerator and a shower room with ample hot water (sadly no waterfall shower). a couple of bottles of water and sachets of tea/coffee were included but beware the 2 sneaky bottles of branded mineral water in the fridge....they will cost extra and yes! they check the room before you check out.
Bed was firm but comfortable. Bed linen and towels were clean and good quality.
Excellent Asian breakfast menu; about 10 food warmers as well as a bar for freshly made item (omelettes etc). Europeans had cereals, toast, French bread, cakes and fruit in abundance from which to choose. Staff kept the tables clean and food replenished at all times.
TV had a wide choice of international channels (CNN, BBC, Discovery, Japanese Korean etc). WiFi was very good with no drop-outs while I used it.)
The local area is typical Ho Chi Minh City. Easier to walk than risk a motor scooter taxi to places of interest; but start early before it gets too hot.
There are restaurants, cafes, street-food, convenience stores at every turn as soon as you walk out of the hotel.
- Emylen (2/5): Do not recommend - Nothing that I actually liked This hotel is not a 4 star. The name of the hotel already got us lost by choosing the wrong one when I ordered Grab.
The room had a stench smell and the shower smelled like urine. Food at breakfast was very disappointing. Everything just screamed really cheap.
- Maricel (3/5): Uncomfortable bed, not satisfied with their service. - Location is good. The bed is so hard! When we entered the room the air condition was so loud and noisy, therefore, we requested to change into another room. Their bed was still so hard and uncomfortable. The moment we wanted to go back to the room for check out and get our lagguages, the door didn't work. So we have to wait. It's not worth the costs we have paid.
- Nhat Tan (5/5): -
- Aileen Ng (6/5): - There wasn’t enough phone chargers for 2 persons stay as 2 out of 3 plugs power socket were spoilt.
The toilet door also spoilt cannot locked.
- Frédéric (7/5): -
- Vy Q (10/5): -
- Simon (10/5): - Good place to stay . Family owned hotel where you get all the care and attention.
- Hung (9/5): Superb - Very clean
- Paul (10/5): - Nice hotel. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and a decent bathroom. Friendly helpfull staff and came with a good breakfast. Short Grab ride to many attractions. Would recommended.
- Ken (8/5): - Easy access to many authentic, local restaurants. Affordable hotel for travelers. Wish Hotel replace old, discolored towels with new ones in the near future.
- Stephen (8/5): OK - did what it said on the tin, but not astounding - A comprehensive breakfast was available, but much of it was often cold . . . shame, because all the trays had heaters beneath, it wouldn't have been much effort to keep it hot
- Gwen (9/5): All good. -
- Tina (8/5): Very central location with lots of food options around. Staff are welcoming and rooms are modern and tidy. - Staff were friendly and rooms were clean and tidy. The breakfast offered had a variety of options to choose from. The hot water running in our bathroom came out quite murky so it was off putting for our children who are not used to seeing that. We ended up going for very lukewarm baths to avoid this.
- David (7/5): Lovely hotel just outside district 1 - Rooms were great, nice view of city. Breakfast was nice. Nothing bad to say
- Hoang (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): - The whole establishment is very well presented, clean, great staff, room is very comfortable, we recommend this hotel.
- Cindy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (10/5): - Gerne wieder
- Tracy (8/5): Very good -
- Ngoc (8/5): - Good
- Marc (8/5): Very good middle class hotel - Modern rooms, all clean, all funcional.
Very friendly staff.
Good location in District 3. Walking distance about 15 minutes to District 1.
Calme and quiet at night.
Asian and Western breakfast.
All very good. We would return to this hotel.
- Stanley (6/5): But like hotel , I’ll be back - Everything very good except 1 thing Buffet in lllmorning could be better, like cook bacon
Out of 7 days I was there only 2 days had lots of fruit
The First Hotel look at there buffet very good and cost less to less 4 star
- huy (6/5): - i like mostly everything except the bed is old hurt my back and the smell from sewage inside the bathroom super strong smell
- Thuy-Trang (2/5): - Hotel need to update their pictures and info. Online stated their 8-minute drive from the airport. That’s not trụe, it at least 40 maybe more with baby traffic. The picture online must been 20 years ago when they first opened. The hotel looks old and towels provided to customers also look old and dirty. The air condition doesn't even work.
- An (10/5): - They are very good
- Karuna (10/5): - 朝ごはんが無料で、種類が沢山あってベトナム料理を朝食バイキングだけでも楽しめました。
- Stella (9/5): Superb - Location convenient
- Aaron (8/5): Very good - Strategic Location Unable to have a later check out time due to almost full occupancy in the hotel
- Minh (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (10/5): - 👍
- Andrew (9/5): Good stay, convenient location, good value. - Very central but far enough away from the District 1 noise. Great staff, good food for breakfast, and all conveniences on the doorstep. The bathroom was a little dated, could do with an upgrade. When big groups come through, you can’t get a seat for breakfast.
- tham (6/5): - Friendly and very helpful staffs.
Blanket and pillows are very clean.
But the the shower sprays very slow (weak water pressure?).
- Nutty (10/5): - Good price, good location, safe
Near the hotel there is a minimart. If you're going anywhere, you can conveniently call Grab to pick you up.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (10/5): - Great staff! Very friendly and helpful
- Zair (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - we love the 4 day stay in your hotel nothing...
- despina (6/5): - Nice hotel for the price. Far from main attractions but still a nice area.
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): - Nice hotel with excellent staff.
- Tomas (8/5): - Good hotel with affordable price
- John (10/5): - Nice hotel
- Jennifer (10/5): - Nice hotel with good breakfast and excellent reception.
- Lars (10/5): Good Value for money - Very nice place, helpful staff breakfast was good so total better than expected to the price 👍
- Hao (5/5): Passable -
- philip giang (8/5): - Reasonable price. Good friendly staff and service. Plenty of choices for food. Safe to walk out at sunset time.
- Richard (10/5): - Safe and clean the price is good
- Chen (10/5): Nice staffs. Good location, clean and comfortable! - Staffs are extremely welcoming and polite. The bell boy help me with mine heavy luggage as there are stairs on the hotel entrance. Room is big enough for me and the location is the best. District 3 but it's next to District 1. There also a lot of Korean, Japanese grilled/ hot pot restaurant nearby and just few blocks to Bui Vien Street. So highly recommended to stay here. At first I thought to be a normal hotel, it turned out to be really good, cleanliness and everything.
Definitely come back here again! nothing
- Dreamer26 (10/5): Great Staff and Location! - Room is nice, new and clean. Location is great! Sai Gon Mall is nearby which has everything you need for food/ drink, it also has a cinema there. You can also take a walk to Bui Vien Street, just few blocks away. Friendly and helpful staff and overall a good short term stay. I will comeback in the future!
- Ryohei (9/5): Great! - ・You can exchange money if you ask at the front desk. The exchange rate is better than at the airport.
・The reception staff were very kind. They called a taxi to the airport for us, even though it was difficult to book one due to the squall.
We're grateful for your kind service.
- Hanoi (10/5): - Friendly staff, ok breakfast, a good and convenient room- surely value for the price!
- Shawn (8/5): - Clean room with good wifi and air conditioning lots of hot water, the staff was helpful there was a variety of food at the hotel breakfast buffet. It is located in district 3 but a short walk or inexpensive cab ride to district 1
- Linda (10/5): - Reception staff was so friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For the money is a very good hotel. The rooms are nice and clean. Everything was working during our stay and nothing went wrong. Big breakfast area and lots of choices for the buffet. The only problem was that the receptionists could not speak English properly and not very helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - the staffs is very friendly. the wifi is very poor
- Andrew (8/5): Nice hotel in district 3 - Nice and quiet hotel in district 3. This is definetly the best in the area as I always stay in this part of the city to stay close to the in-laws. It has a surprisingly good breakfast Buffett. However if you solely want to be closer to the buzz of the tourism area and walking distance to Benh Thanh markets etc I recommend staying closer to district 1.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic - Basic and old facilities, but staff are nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): We are very satisfied of our stay in this hotel - The hotel is a little far from the center, we like to wake, so we did...
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok - Everything is just OK. Nothing to complain. Good location though.
- Sal (10/5): Very quiet hotel in busy Saigon - Had a great 2 days at Sen Viet. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was an excellent buffet with many options. Very glad we stayed at the Sen Viet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A little gem - Quite area of HCMC but everything you would want to find is here.
Staff great, thank you
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The sen viet hotel is fine and suitable for family to for short or long stay. I only I am not very happy about is theair condition all the room is old and not really cold when it turn on maximum speed. Also in the morning the room cleaner is a bit noisy outside when you trying get a bit more sleep.
- Scott (10/5): - Everything was good. Once when I returned to the hotel and I needed my key card for my room, the night clerk was on the phone and did not understand that she should give me my room key NOW, while she was talking. I waited patiently for a time, then motioned for the room key.
Also, when I first arrived, the porter did not show me where he put the room key (in the energy saving card pocket by the door). I searched high and low for half an hour . . . thinking that it was in my pockets or on a table . . . before I spotted it near the door. Some 3 star hotels in Vn have this feature, some do not. I had only seen this once before. He could have save me some agony by just pointing out where he was putting the keycard.
Otherwise, the staff helped me learn a few words of Vietnamese and was very responsive.
- Gemma (6/5): Reasonable hotel in a bustling area - Decent hotel. Clean room. We had to ask for shower gel and shampoo but housekeeping provided them. Reasonable breakfast. If you want 5 star luxury, this isn't the hotel but if you want a decent, clean room in a busy area of Hi Chi Minh, with sensible walking distance to the tourist attractions, it ticks the boxes. The staff didn't seem amazingly warm and welcome but they were helpful when asked and booked tickets for the water puppet show for us.
- Michael (6/5): Nice location but the staff is not good - During I stayed in there, one of my friends (who came to join the trip later) would like to book additional room. However, the staff said that the hotel was fully booked. We were ok for that, but one of the staffs followed us to recommend nearby places to stay for my friend. Along the way, he mentioned that the hotels nearby Sen Viet Hotel were expensive, so lastly he took us to one motel. We found out later that the motel he recommended was too expensive (about double price). Luckily, we refused the deal and found the hotel near Sen Viet Hotel which had lower price a lot as we expected.
The room and environment were quite good, but the staffs in there made me and my friends quite disappointed.
- Tommy (8/5): Not very nice hotel, but it is ok to stay - It was ok for us to stay at this hotel even it is not close to shopping mall, but there are a lot of restaurants nearby.
- Fiona (6/5): - A abit far from town
- Nyla (6/5): Good value hotel - We needed a place for a short stay in-between flights, and this was perfect. I wish it had been closer to the airport, but it worked out fine. Good room, great breakfast and the hotel had great value for the money.
- Kim Ngoc (10/5): Good service - Very good
- ken (8/5): Nice hotel close to the town - The hotel is clean and tidy, all the staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant foods is yummy and clean,Internet at the room abit slow
- Junelle & Debbi (10/5): Good value for money - Helpful, friendly staff. Delicious breakfast with lots to choose from. Large room, clean and tidy. A great spot for a short stopover!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs improvements - This is the first hotel I've stayed at where the room did not have a clock. If I didn't have my phone, I wouldn't have known what the time is. The free wifi isn't reliable at all. Sometimes it works, many times it doesn't. The water pressure/temperature isn't consistent. You can easily hear the outside noise since the hotel is located on a busy street. I would say the only good thing about this hotel is the air conditioner is good.
- chlo (6/5): ok - Fine but no pool, breakfast below par
- Arno1111 (10/5): Arno1111 - it is the best new 3 star hotel
the best with 3 star in HCM
- SH (6/5): Quite a nice hotel - Overall: It's quite a nice hotel. The rooms were spacious. Would be better if they would keep it a bit cleaner and do better with the restaurant food. No complaints with all other things except the bed comforter. Mine was dirty. There were stains on it that looked like it came from makeup or tanning products, which tells me they didn't wash it thoroughly.
Staff: Some weren't friendly. Some were very helpful. Overall, can't complain on this part. It is a tough job.
Food: They don't seem to really keep up with the breakfast buffet. It's like a matter of luck. You could enter and there would not be many options, or you come in and there's a lot of options. They need to keep up with what's out. Overall, the breakfast foods were good. Got Western and Vietnamese varieties.
Don't bother eating at the restaurant, though. The foods were really bad considering how pricy they are. You're paying about 3 or more times the price of restaurants outside and the quality is really bad. My pork was hard, rice was cold, and portion was small. Ate there 3 times because I was too tired to go out and all 3 times the food weren't good. Really NOT worth your money for the restaurant food. Go eat out.
I'd still recommend staying here. Just stay out of the restaurant when it comes to lunch and dinner.
- Kendall (6/5): - An older hotel. Didn't have much around it to see or do, and not many restaurants nearby at all. We went to eat in the restaurant at the hotel and no one greeted us at the door, the staff were sitting at a table and did not come over. We did not want to just walk in as it looked like there was a big group there and we weren't sure about where to sit. So after standing there and trying to get the staff attention for a few minutes we opted for the Vietnamese seafood place a couple of doors down. The hotel is clean, rooms are basic but clean and for someone just staying s night or two, it would probably be fine.
- tt0383 (6/5): Wouldn't recommend. Noisy rooms w/ no massage. - The hotel is situated in a very noisy area, even with all windows shut I could still hear the noise from KTVs across the street till 2300. They had close down their roof top spa, and there was only "gentlemen massages / KTV" in the neighborhood, I was super disappointed. Also the front desk lady barely understands English. Most of all there was no hot water in the room (I stayed in 503). The stay in all was not so pleasant.
- Leny (8/5): Very Impressed - Fabulous staff from the security, who met us up at the airport; to the front desk staff. Housekeeping did a good job in cleaning the rooms. I am very particular with the bathrooms wherever i travel to and I am super impressed with the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the bathroom. Water pressure was great. No mold on the bathroom walls. Everything works!
Room was also very big, enough for three persons to bunk in. And there was a good selection of cable channels. Although not in District 1, location of the hotel was not too bad with shops and restaurants around the vicinity.
Only downside was breakfast and lack of other facilities. Other than that, it was a great stay.
- Nicholas (8/5): Large room - Spacious room and good eateries surrounding, especially bakery shops. Construction noise after 8am but opposite karaoke, weekday stay is fine.
- McCombs (10/5): Very accommodating - We booked a particular room but as it was available at the time we were given an upgrade. Cannot complain about the room, the restaurant downstairs or the service we were given. It was centrally located to the city and the general sight seeing places. All in all the hotel was very accommodating and we would recommend it to all who decided to go there. Thank you San Viet for making our stay in Saigon very memorable.
- Colin (6/5): Wear and tear - This is my second time staying at this hotel after 2.5 years. The room showed sign of wear and tear. The air con in my room is not working very well as it took quite sometime before the room get cooled. However the problem was rectified immediately after informing the staff. Overall quite worth the money paid as the room is quite big.
- Jonathan age 25 (8/5): Sen Viet - Very good hotel. Reception does not have great English. There is no swimming pool.
- ErinO (6/5): One night stop-over in Ho Chi Minh - We only spent one night in Ho Chi Minh on our way to Hong Kong and the Sen Viet was good value for money with a buffet breakfast included. Check in was fine, the staff were friendly enough, breakfast was a standard 3 star buffet breakfast and check out was fine. Apparently District 3, where Sen Viet is, isn't the tourist area, which was ok because we had organised a 2.5hr "Saigon by night tour" with XO Tours which was fantastic and highly recommended!! So we really only needed a bed and breakfast.
Regards,
Erin
p.s Apparently District 1 is the tourist spot.
- The Comrade (10/5): A very pleasant hotel - As above. A minor problem. They need to keep the burners under the breakfast food going all the time. Sometimes the food can be cold.
- RobertSt (6/5): Value above all else - If travelling on a budget, this is a clean, comfortable hotel which offers excellent value but few frills.
Breakfast is included but in our experience much of the food had run out by 9am.
The location is not within easy walking distance of the city, but you can walk to coffee chain (Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) and western style food (NYDC) if needed (adjacent to Hotel Nikko, a landmark in the neighbourhood).
Be wary of laundry service. On day one we organised for laundry to be collected at 9am (an hour prior to the 10am cutoff for return by 6pm). It took two days to be returned.
The next day we had a plastic bag of laundry we left on the floor beside our case removed and laundered without us completing paperwork or putting it into the laundry basket. It was returned cleaned the next day - along with a US$25 bill! When we refused to pay an argument ensued... we won in the end but it marred the visit.
- Dave (8/5): value for money - only negatives are poor wifi signal & noisy karaoke bar outside
- joej (8/5): Stopover - A very good hotel for the money and district seemed very safe and central. My booking showed the wrong date due to crossing the dateline and as a result one night had to be cancelled. This also affected my pre paid airport hotel transfer as the service was provided a day early and of course I was not there. There is no recourse on this point so I lost the price of a transfer because it was paid in advance for a specific date.
JOEJ
- Lee (10/5): It was our first visit to Vietnam - It was our first visit to Vietnam and was unsure as to what to expect, on our arrival at the hotel we were warmly welcomed and were speedily dealt with on the check in and accompanied to our room. The room for the price far reached our expectations and was very cormfortable and was a welcome on our return each day from our escapades. Breakfast each morning was from a well stocked buffet and afforded itself to setting us up sufficiently for the day. Staff were always very polite and efficient and the addded bonus of a member hailing for taxis and reccomending places of interest helped no end. All in all in very good place to stay but most importantly very affordable for level of service and hospitality, well worth a stay.
- Anonymous (10/5): Great central location, friendly, - Great central location, friendly, helpful staff, great value for money.
- Terry (10/5): famliy stay in ho chi city was - famliy stay in ho chi city was made better by stay at hotel, service was good, breakfast was good upgraded room which gave us a lot more room, will stay again
- Anonymous (8/5): We had a nice, peaceful sleep - We had a nice, peaceful sleep at this hotel. The personnel are very friendly and patient. They give immediate response to your needs. The foods (breakfast) taste good.
- Tina (10/5): we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, - we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the rooms were clean and tidy, buffet breakfast had a great variety and was very fresh, the staff were very helpful and informed us of safety in the city. The girls on reception were helpful and spoke reasonably good english. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend this hotel
- Elizabeth (10/5): A very good family hotel. Clean - A very good family hotel. Clean and efficient
And staff very helpful. Highly recommend as a mid range hotel.
