Guest Reviews
- Kevin (10/5): - Friendly staff. Close to many places.
- Jonathan (2/5): - I arrived and the AC was broken and there was a fan in the room instead. never told about it at the desk and need AC. the shower as so small to used, Ants in room, and the area around the hotel is not safe, Was approached during time leaving or arriving at hotel. Not safe to stay here. I called Expedia and let them know what was happening. They called the hotel, and spoke to front desk manager who authorize refund and I was instructed to check out in the AM and get a refund for the remaining two nights. Expedia instructed me to checkout in the morning and reserve a different hotel, and I would get a refund. I Asked all the questions and reconfirmed several times because the cost per night was high for this awful place. After checking out and go to a new reservation, Expedia did not send the confirmation they promised so I called them and this person call the Hotel again after I already did all of that with the representative the previous night. All of a sudden someone from the hotel said it was a nonrefundable reservation and that they had plenty of cameras for security. I was already checked out and made a new reservation through Expedia at expedia's instructions and expedia spoke to the Hotel while I was on the phone with Expedia. So I was out over $160.00 had to move and did not get a dime back. Spent hours on the phone with Expedia and now I am now disputing the charge. The hotel wants to force people to stay in their rooms with broken AC and Ants,no proper shower
- D946AMbethd (6/5): No air con in euro heat wave - A perfectly fine hotel if there is not a euro heat wave - Rome hit 37° and the rooms don’t have air con. The rooms have a mobile “air con” unit that do not work. I lay awake at night with a wet towel over me in order to cope. It was unbearable and I was reflecting on my life choices with booking this hotel. Breakfast was available but we didn’t partake. Close to the train station which was good.
- Penelope (6/5): - Room was dated and basic but ok apart from no air con.
Breakfast was ok but there was always something we had to ask for - spoons, knife bread, milk.
Reception staff were very nice and helpful.
- John Paul (10/5): - Need to work on the electricity.
- Yoshifumi (8/5): - Good location for central station and many ancient architectures.
- B2529SFnickc (8/5): We will be back - We have used this hotel a few times now and every time we have had no complaints. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Ok it’s a old now and probably could do with a paint job but I found the rooms clean and tidy. We will be using the hotel again has we come to watch the football 3 to 4 times a season.
- Donavan (2/5): Health hazard run! - Very horrible hotel! My lady and I did not sleep well for the entire trip. The hotel is old dirty and run down, nasty stained linen, very uncomfortable single beds joined together to create double bed, it keep moving aprt making it very impossible to get rest. There were bugs in the room bitting us as the windows don't shut. All the smoke , noise and dust from the streets entered in our room. MouId in the room as well, the iron provided
Looked like a toy, there was only one outlet in the room to use to chatge of iron. This is was the worst hotel horrible. The unprofessional service they provided was unbelievable, even when they were emailed by hotel.com about our concerns the overlooked everything not once did they ask how our stay was. When we checked out I was so happy this nightmare was over. I felt like I was homeless due to the conditions we stayed in.
- Camper42993918072 (10/5): Excellent location, great value for money! - I feel I have to share the fabulous experience we have had with our daughters here the past three days. I booked this trip and hotel as a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday, and to be honest, after reading all the horrible reviews, I regretted having made a reservation here. Boy was I wrong. This hotel is literally just around the corner from the huge central station (trains and busses) in Rome, a place full of shops and restaurants, pharmacies and (tip!) a great bookstore with tons of books in all languages. As you'd expect from ANY station in Europe, there are always fishy things going on at night, and many people of all sorts gather to drink, do drugs, and pick pockets.. If you are aware and careful then the four minute walk between hotel and station should be fine. The staff is lovely, the rooms have wonderfully high ceilings and great beds, our sheets looked brand new, towels were sparkling white, windows opened up to the buzzing streets below, smart tv showed us anything we wanted. Bathroom was perfectly clean, little bags with schampoo and soap were offered, (bath)shower was even better than at home! The breakfast wasn't extravagant, no, but it was there and free of extra charge. You can go elsewhere if you have specific needs for a wholesome morning meal, but here you received yummy delights (cakes, viennoiseries), coffee, yoghurt, cornflakes, white toast, standard cheese, mortadella and ham. (Bring your own veggies if you can't live without them for a few mornings, there are plenty of supermarkets and/or places to eat in the area). All in all please don't hesitate to give this hotel a chance, either they have made major improvements to fix up the place since last year (granted it's still a bit dated but seriously; for this price who cares, as long as it's clean and everything works..?!) or perhaps the previous reviews were made by people who got unlucky with heating, plumbing or hot water (NB: we stayed here end of Jan so can't comment on AC). Speaking for us, we had the best holiday ever in Rome, and this hotel played a big part in the plan and we are very satisfied with everything, so a big thank you to Gabili, Bruno, the lovely dark-haired lady in the kitchen, the cleaners (who btw cleaned/refreshed/replenished daily) and everyone else who worked hard to make our experience so great. Mille grazie, see you next time!
- Gladys (10/5): - Great place
- 972marijav (4/5): Hotel where u cant yake a shower - NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER FOR 3 DAYS 😡
We even changed rooms, and still no warm water.
I do not understand how can they accept guests without basic things very basic a hotel room should have. I just dont know whether this is a thing for all hotels here. Caise they assured me that the city is working on this. Very dissapointed. Never this hotel again.
- Ej555 (6/5): A budget hotel thats dirty - We stayed here whilst visiting Rome for 4 days. The cleanliness is much to be desired and rooms dont get cleaned daily or towels , bedding changed regularly. The reception staff are very polite and helpful but i wouldn't recommend this hotel . Not quite sure how they got their star rating, but having stayed in several hotels i would give this a 1 star. Big open windows with no safety on them so not safe for children to be in the room with them open, air conditioning didnt work but we did have a fan in the room but it was so dirty no air actually came out of it. Cups on the side were not cleaned from previous guests and after i put it in the bathroom it was put back on the side unwashed. I did check if they were stained but with a quick wipe with my finger i rubbed the marks off so they were definitely not cleaned or changed. The walls had dirty marks all over them, The sink didn't drain so couldn't wash properly and the shower leaked onto the floor. Towels that were left on the the floor were just picked up and put on the shower screen and not changed. I was too frightened to check the mattress as i wouldn't have been able to sleep if it was as dirty as the room, but bedding seemed clean.we had a fridge in the room but it wasn't cold and had a half eaten pear in it when we first opened it. A false finger nail was on the floor and a patch of dirty hair and dust remained under the chair throughout our entire stay 🤢 had to go to the main desk to get toilet roll as this hadn't been replenished either. A real shame as this hotel is close to everything and a short walk from all the major points of interest and a few minutes from the station. The bar wasn't equipped with cold drinks , told there was a shop close by when i asked for a diet coke as they didnt have any, and breakfast was dry, tasteless and all in the open air. A revamp and a thorough clean daily would make this building a lovely place to stay.
- thinuslg3108 (2/5): Dont waste your money - Dont be fooled by the semi decent pictures. Not sure what one should be expecting from a 3star last minute booking in high season but this place is terrible. Friendly staff but the room does not look anything like the picture. The door looks so busted I am not sure if anyone will be able to open it from the outside while I sleep and even though there is aircon it does not work because apparently 27 degrees is not 'warm weather'
- J3795BMk (2/5): Disaster waiting to happen - Absolutely disgusting dirty rooms, dust no towels or decent air conditioning not working. Over priced. The photos shown on their website are not what you get.
Breakfast was horrendous, stale and just plain nasty, hair in bathroom not our hair. Do not go to that health hazard hotel.
I would not give any stars.
- FSM1977 (2/5): DEATH TRAP. RUN AWAY FAST -
Where do I start? This hotel is a health and safety hazard. I expected basic standards and it not to be the most modern but this was another level. The air conditioning was not working and the room was warm. I slipped and fell on a large puddle of water that had leaked from the air conditioning unit. I really hurt myself . We told the staff but they just emptied the bottle and it still leaked. We had to put towels down every day to prevent slipping. Bruno the reception staff tried to help by giving us an extra fan. The extension lead they used for the unit was dangling dangerously across the room and we had to step over it to get to the bathroom. We alerted the staff about this but they shrugged their shoulders and said that's the only point they can plug it in. This is a massive safety risk. We could not open the door because the lock was faulty. It took alot of attempts and jiggling to open the door. We had to keep the window open because of the air conditioning unit. I was being bitten by insects coming in and the light from outside was coming through because the air conditioning unit was affecting the curtains closing properly. We could not sleep very well because of the noise outside. The fridge was also broken and my sister who is diabetic could not keep her insulin cool. We had no warm water for 3 days and the sink was also blocked. The cleaner who was really lovely, had to unblock it but it still didn't drain properly. The electricity kept cutting out and we had to keep going downstairs to request the electricity to be put back on. This happened 12 times in just 3 days and the elderly gentleman in reception did not seem to care and was sighing because he had to flip a switch. I had to walk down each time and it was a big inconvenience. We couldn't even switch on a kettle. They don't even provide milk for the room, I bought milk but because the fridge was broken it went off.
Bruno was the only helpful reception staff member. He tried his best to help us but it isn't his fault that the room is not safe and he could not do anything to solve the issues. We were told the hotel was fully booked and could not switch rooms. Nothing was done about the fridge, the cold water, the leaking air conditioning or the lack.of safety. Another room was not offered. I reported all these faults to the reception staff. We asked to speak to the manager but we were told he wasn't at the hotel. When we were checking out we told the reception staff to not give anyone room 139 as it is a health and safety hazard.
I could have really hurt myself falling in that room but there was no care for our safety at all. The only positive is that Bruno tried his best and the cleaner tried his best to unblock the sink. We needed someone to change the room but no-one did this. The other staff did not care to help or change our room even knowing all of our issues. They were quite rude and disinterested.
The breakfast was a joke, no hot food. It was just poor quality cereal, cake, croissants, yoghurt pots, mixed tin fruit and bread to make toast. They have jam and a machine for coffee. Not worth having. Cheap and tasteless.
I would not even stay there for free. I ran away as fast as I could.
- Talita (10/5): - This place was just walk from termini! The staff was very friendly and helpful!
- Jasmin (8/5): - I liked the convenient location and friendly and helpful desk staff. The hotel was listed as air conditioned but they did NOT have air conditioning and provided a fan in the room. I don't think this was an adequate replacement for the air conditioning listed in the information on ORBITZ.
- robdJ9197JA (2/5): Not as advertised. Very poor facilities. - Positives - Excellent location for easy transportation round the city.
Negatives - Where to start! First off room keeping staff stealing our suntan lotion. May seem little until you realise how much suntan lotion costs in Rome. Secondly, don't look at the old pictures advertising the hotel. These are real from June 2024 in just one room. Need I say anymore. As for breakfast, nothing fresh and good luck finding a table that does not wobble! Needs major investment and a staff member investigated for theft... Shocking standard.
- AngelaC412 (4/5): Not worth the money. Shame as good location for transport and sight seeing - Good location, comfy bed, reception staff ( Thomas) lovely and helpful. Older lady rather rude!
Room was very dated, walls where dirty, under bed very dusty, walls had chips and bits missing, tiles of bottom of wall, bathroom shower was broken, mainly the pole plus base sharp and seals where black, cracked tiles, exposed wires, really needed some attention. After stay I stripped bed and mattress was stained??? View wasn’t great but is in built up area so no good views? Road very noise most of night and no air con as wasn’t working and very noisy. I have email through booking.com but the reply has just been rude! Breakfast limited and looks nothing like photos. Bread, pasties, tin fruit, ham cheese and drinks. Plus side hotel room didn’t smell.
We did not ask to move as beds was very comfy and arrived late at night, also only there a couple of nights so didn’t see the point.
Not worth the money for 3 would only think a 2!!!
- Timothy (4/5): - Just didn’t like it, or the staff.
- Sachin (2/5): - Never ever book this property im rome. AC is not there in the rooms. Place is very dingy and shady. Nearby area is very bad as well.
We couldn’t sleep all night due to no air conditioning. Were not given any toiletries on the day 1. Please don’t book this property.
- U (10/5): - I like everything
- Nikolas (6/5): - Think of the top ten things you want from a hotel. They will fail in 5 of those areas. Too many to bother with. No.1 was i dont think they had heat.
- Stephanie (4/5): - 2 people in room but only 1 bath and hand towel. Asked for a second bath towel and took almost an hour to get it. Had to ask twice. Understaffed! Poor Dim lighting, very hot. Thankful our last night. Would not recommend. Booked in haste. Morning Female staff helpful. She had to deal with a beggar at the front entrance bothering us while waiting for our cab to the airport. She said if he comes back to let her know!!! The restaurants in the area were good.
- Jashandeep (8/5): - Hotel is good..But The area is not that good..
- Skylar (2/5): - Horrible property, and a number of items in the listing were misrepresented. For example, I requested two twin beds, when we arrived to our room it was a queen bed, however the “queen bed” was just two twin beds pushed together to make one bed, which was very hard to sleep on. The room had a constant smell of sewage, and it was extremely overwhelming and unbearable. There was mould in and around the shower, which is a health issue. The toilet seat was broken and disconnected from the toilet itself, which made it hard to be able to use the toilet. I spoke to the general manager regarding everything that transpired, and they were unwilling to provide compensation or even an apology. DO NOT STAY HERE, there are many other hotels in the area that value customer service and treat their guests properly.
- Gino (6/5): - The hotel room was nice but there was NO air conditioning. The temperature outside was 100 degrees.
We had to ask for a fan.
- Leonel (10/5): - El personal fue muy amable y de gran ayuda. La habitacion fue agradable. Todo me gusto.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Breakfast very disappointing. No fruit. White sliced bread only. Minimalist decor.
Tv remote didnt work despite request for repair. Phone in room disconnected/broken and wasnt repaired when request made.
Bathroom amenities substandard or faulty.
Very polite reception staff
- Clinton (6/5): Better Options in Rome - Tired Hotel. Only good thing is the location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located. Staff really friendly and close to all monuments.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location for seeing the attractions. Good value for money.
- Kimberley (10/5): Great location and lovely staff - The hotel was perfect for location, value for money and the staff were super friendly too! Hop on, hop off was a minute walk away, surrounded by shops and restaurants, across the road from Termini station so can get trains, trams and metro easy enough. Rooms are huge and comfy!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Right next to the main station in rome. Very central to all sights
- muhammad (8/5): Good central hotel, value for money - Location very good, property is generally well and value for money. Staff helpful and area good for restaurants. Near central tranport station.
- KC (2/5): - Terrible room and everything was horrible never again
- Jack (2/5): - So far the worst hotel I ever stay. Room was dirty, bathroom even worse. Bed sheets with yellow stains ! Paint on walls falling off. Terrible breakfast, cold and smelling bad. Staff jist standing at the front and smoling so when you want to walk in or leaving hotel and you do not like smoking, well.... Welcome to Nizza Hotel. They do not eben have magnetic carss to open doors so you have to carry big key with you, and better do not lose it....
I visit many, many cities all around the world, in Tokyo and Singapore I had pretty poor "3 star" hotels bit I was nothing compared to Nizza Hotel.
Going to the point THIS IS NOT A 3 STAR HOTEL AND NOT FOR FAMILY !!!!
If you travel single and you coming for one or two nights and you literally just want some bad to sleep like I did you will survive other ways choose different hotel
- Valerija (10/5): - I liked this hotel very much.... Great location, great service, good breakfast, nice staff, daily cleaning....If I ever go to Rome again I will choose the tgis hotel!!
- Oscar (2/5): - The room we got was in very bad condition and has nothing to do with the pictures in the website or in the room I booked. The barthroom had a lot of mold, there was a lot of noise and very bright light from the street and not curtains to block it
- Bettina (8/5): First time in Rome - Great service and great location
We will come back again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great service , front desk always provided great service. Location is awesome, 25 min walk max to main touristic places. I would definitely go back !
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient - Really good location, everything you need nearby. Room very basic but fine for a couple of nights. Room included a kettle but no tea or coffee making facilities, decor a bit worn and bed wasn’t the comfiest. Breakfast included in our stay but we only went once (in a two night stay) as we didn’t enjoy it. Food that looked like it had been left out a long time and not much variety- no fresh food such as fruit at all.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location for transport and attractions. Lots of restaurants nearby.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location ,free breakfast ok , but not everyday the same menu , not much to choose from , this hotel needs a lot of repairs , one star quality hotel , 4 star location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location really close to the center and two underground stations
Staff really welcoming and kind
The hotel is a bit old but I haven't had any problem with water air conditioning etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was in the city so it was very easy to reach busses and train.
- karen (10/5): - Amazing localtion. Close to transportation hub and wonderful restaurants in the area. Only down side was the air conditioning wasn't on and it was hot trying to sleep at night.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel is dirty. You can see dirt of towels and bed sheets. Hair all over the floor. The bathroom is old, with torn shower and sink. It was very noisy area and the bed is not confortable at all. It was the worst hotel during my trip to 4 European countries.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst condition of the property, rooms in very bad condition. No proper light in rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Door didn’t shut too well , great for location , walked to bus and train , everyone was very helpful, thank you !!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just so so - As scored, 3 across all categories. Nothing special impressive but just ok. First day check in was told I scored an "upgrade" - I was sent to a BnB nearby. Would rather just be honest and told me they overbooked or something, with a discount for the first day. What a joke.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Poor quality room and state if building. Staff nice. Breakfast terrible
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Rooms need major maintenance, shower not working; broken door of toilet and not even notified about it; bed cracking; room lacks basic stuff like a bottle of water even or slippers, breakfast very poor
- Steven (8/5): Great location, but it is a low end 3 star Hotel. - Overall, the rooms are small but adequate. They are air conditioned and comfortable. The wifi was quite good. The bed was comfortable. We were generally relaxed and happy. The location was excellent and close to all transport connections.
On the negative, the bathroom was very small as was the shower. We Kept knocking the shower screen which couldn't be closed properly and looked quite old, needing repair, with the sliding doors barely hanging onto their tracks. The "buffet" breakfast was very, very basic - a coffee machine, toast, a couple of sliced meats, jams for the toast, pastries, 2 choices of cereal (very sugary unhealthy types) and some very poor fruit juice. The dining area was very, very basic, clean but undecorated.
The staff were very good. Overall, the Hotel is very tired and in need of an immediate upgrade. As a 3 start Hotel we also had to pay a Rome Accommodation tax of 4 Euro, per person per night - Thanks Rome, as I haven't had to pay that anywhere else outside of Italy, particularly when that money should be used to do street sweeping of all the dirty streets.
- Nicola (6/5): Hotel close to transport - The hotel is within easy walking distance of transport and some of Rome's attractions. The room itself was basic but the one main detraction was mould in the shower.
- mark (8/5): Great location, cheap, cheerful. Needs some TLC - Super value for money. Generally a tired hotel that needs some decoration and fixing up. Reception staff are excellent and location is very good. If you want cheap and cheerful and only need a hotel as a base to explore Rome, this is for you. If you like luxury and willing to pay double the price, don't book here. Continental breakfast consisted of toast, cereals, yogurts, pastries, ham, cheese, fruit juice, water and tea/coffee. Kept us fuelled til lunch. It also has a bar and lounge. Prices were cheaper than most cafe! We were a group of six, 50 ish year old friends and would stay here again.
- Oleg (6/5): Bad service - We arrived here around 5:30pm on a weekday and there were a ton of people trying to get service at the desk. Three people were working, only one of them spoke (broken) english. The lady that did helped us as best she could while also fielding questions from about 10 other guests who couldn't wait their turn. We had to go back down and have some hotel policies clarified because she was so frazzled she forgot to mention them to us. There was no heat for weather in the mid-40's at night. Apparently they won't turn it on in Rome until the beginning of November. We froze, but they brought us 4 blankets. The breakfast was afwul, first come, first serve. They ran put of bread/pastries around 915, breakfast is over at 10. The shower head was broken. We used electrical tape we had brought to fix it. The bed was a double, my husband is 6'2'', that was a tight squeeze. The room tax had to be paid in cash yet they didn't have any change, nor were they willing to get any. I only had a 20€ note or three 5 € notes and we owed 16. I told them i could only pay 15 since they didn't have change (that's not my problem that a large hotel doesn't keep change around after requiring cash). The guy at check-out wasn't too happy, but either was I. Lastly, the power went out 2 separate times and the emergency light in our room was broken, so no power. Would I stay here again? Only if it was the last option available in Rome.
- Grant (6/5): Central Local - Great location, 5 min walk from main Bus/Train station and 1 hour walk from Vatican (furthest away tourist site). Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Room was clean and bed was comfy. However, the safe was broken and the shower leaked all over the floor. Not much variety for breakfast, but it was constantly re-stocked so you could have as much as you liked.
- Gordon (6/5): Hotel closed to train station and restaurants - Hotel closed to train station and restaurants. Breakfast is nice. Staff are helpful and friendly. Room size is alright but air-con in our room is not working properly. I told the staff but they cannot fix it. Finally, I have to open the window to cool down the room.
- pop (8/5): Nice hotel near to the mail station of ROME - nice hotel near to Rome terminale station 3 min walk , accepted breakfast with only ham, cheese and different jam and croissant associated with jauce and hot drinks.
- Fabi (4/5): Close to train station and budget price - Room was very old and run down, close to train station but also a ugly part of the city.
Definitely not worth 3 stars rating.
- marciano (8/5): Roma/Vatican journey - It's great and interesting....Walking distance to Roma termini and to churches...
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - We had a really bad experience in this hotel. The day that we arrived, very tired, the recepcionist told us that they had a problem and that we should move to another hotel for one night. They gave us as a second option to stay in a smaller room, but the price was the same. Ok, we choosed to stay. They dont make any effort to have a room ready if you arrive earlier. We stayed 6 days in Rome and we left, but we had one night to come back and same problem to have the room ready. They just gave us the room at 2 pm. They say they have internet. Dont believe. The food is ok, but you can have to wait to have a table available. Localization is what worths. To be honest, the guys crew are very nice. Women in this hotel are b...!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic Location - Stayed at Hotel Nizza 5/11/15 - 9/11/15, rooms are basic (what do you expect for the price?) but spotlessly clean. Memory Foam mattress on bed (you really need this comfort after walking for 7+hrs each day!) Decent size bathroom, good shower and lots of hot water (great for those aching muscles!) & towels changed daily. Continental breakfast (fantastic pastries!), buffet style (so you can fill your boots each morning!). Great location, only a couple of minutes walk from Termini which is the main transport hub (buses, trains, metro). TIP: Don't pay a fortune for airport transfer - the bus journey is approx 30 mins, to Termini, and the return fare is only a few euros, the bus timetable runs alongside plane arrivals/departures (even those early morning departures!). Wouldn't hesitate in staying at Hotel Nizza again.
- Molly (8/5): Reasonable hotel at a good price - Nizza was exactly what I expected with what I paid for the stay. We pent 6 nights there in the standard double room during October-November 2015. The room was larger than I expected so we didn't feel like we were running out of space, and ours actually had a balcony with it, too (a nice surprise!). The bed was a little hard, and it was made of 2 mattresses that came apart from each other quite easily while we slept, but it was a bed & we slept fine after all the walking we did!
The bathroom was nice- clean (the shower head could have used a wipe down) and everything ran nicely.
The air worked well, which for us was a great bonus because we like to sleep with it fairly cool at night.
Distance from sights was reasonable- a mile to the Colosseum/Forum, and about a mile to Trevi/Pantheon. Being 3 blocks from Termini was nice, too. There was a lot to do and see in the area- restaurants, shopping (tourist and otherwise), and it was generally a good area, not too loud at night. However, people are ALWAYS trying to sell you stuff in that area, especially on Cavour (the main street we took nearly every day) so that got a little exhausting, but nothing on the Hotel's part!!
Breakfast was okay. Toast, pastries, yogurt, meats and cheeses, cereal, hot beverages. But no other hot food and little to no variety day-to-day. Enough to start you for the day, though.
- Laura (8/5): Nice hotel, central to Rome Termini and many attra - Reception had a b packed breakfast ready for us upon our early morning departure. We enjoyed our stay.
- Nancy (8/5): Hotel Nizza - Hotel was nice and desk staff was friendly. Free breakfast was also great. Room was ok, we had a room on the sub level so no sunlight and our window views were of garbage, that ruined the atmosphere for us. Wifi was very spotty.
- Jody (6/5):
very convenient location - close to main train station, very clean and nice European breakfast. city tour buses about a block away. Not all staff is good with English. City tax of $4/person/day to be paid in cash.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Had to move hotel on first night and wasn't made clear by staff where we had to go and they also collected our bags without our knowledge
- Simon (6/5): - Very short walk from Termini station where the trains and buses arrive from the airport. Very close to Metro too. Many hotels, restaurants and cafes in the area. Helpful hotel staff who were happy for us to change rooms to one with more natural light. Breakfast could be improved by offering fresh fruit. A clean, comfortable, quiet room in a safe and convenient area. Ideal for a few nights.
- If (2/5): Poor in many ways - Only best thing about this hotel is its location.
1. Hotel staff(especially the night staff) were extremely abrupt in any conversation. They showed no customer service, or any desire to help anyone.
2. Breakfast... This was a typical breakfast scenario: Coffee machine was broken, so I decided to get juice...but juce machine malfunctioning. So decided to have cereal, but there was no milk. With little choice left, I then i decided to have yogurt..but they had all finished!! Even when i found some yogurt, there were no spoons to eat it with.
3. This is defintely not a 3 star. It is a 2 star hotel by most european standards.
- Gina (8/5): Nizza - nice - We chose this hotel as it was central to most of the main tourist attractions. Whilst it is close to the terminal for buses and trains, we walked. It meant we were able to see more at our own pace. The hotel was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was enough for what we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't recommend! - The room smelled like mold. The internet did not work at all. The TV only had 1 station. The Queen size bed was 2 twin size mattresses crammed together making for not so great romantic time. When I paid online I was specifically told we were "Paid In Full", but the hotel charge an additional "tax" for every night and person staying that you must pay in cash. Very loud area so sleep is impossible through out entire night. Air condition works, but is beyond loud. I could go on and on....
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent Hotel - Not so good not so bad. Ok ok. Average hotel to stay for 2 days.
- Timothy (8/5): lovely city shame about the hotel - Faded hotel in good location. Service pretty indifferent and would probably book elsewhere next time. They need to address levels of service. We had to change rooms after one night. Several disagreements with staff over quite minor things.
- john (2/5): Not more than 3 star - room dark and run down. Internet did not work. TV didn't pick up English channels. Breakfast very basic.
- Steven (6/5): Great Hotel, Broken Shower - I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel with one exception. The first two nights of our stay they had NO hot water. It was miserable to not be able to shower, and they took forever to fix it. Aside from that, it really was a great hotel. Amazing location, fantastic staff and overall nice hotel
- Bernadeta (10/5): All in good taste. - Nizza is heaven compared to hotels like Republica or Paris. Clean, well decorated and furnished with good taste. The staff is professional: Farid, Andreas and Marina made the warmth of our stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value for money/close to main station - Stay was OK and very convenient to Termini ( main train station in Rome) and nice restaurants , bars and cafes. Hotel needs to improve their WI-FI system. We booked in advance and got a good value for money price for that part of town. We also asked to change our original room and reception was very helpful. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
- chrisana (6/5): WIFI was completely down - WIFI was not working. Imagining you need to get online to plan for the next day's activities without WIFI in your hotel, you will be so disappointed. Saw other comments about the bad WIFI in the hotel, it was completely not working during my stay. What a disappointment!
- Juliana (6/5): - We loved Rome! Hotel Nizza was at the perfect location if you were hoping to take public transportation. This really helped out when we were running late to tours. We enjoy waking more so it was a little far from the main sites. Being our first time in Rome I'm really happy with the location but next time would probably stay closer to the Trevi/ pantheon area. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. They were accommodating and spoke different languages. They always had someone at the desk. The room itself was disappointing but the ratings on hotels.com were accurate- the price was right but it showed in the room. We had what seemed to be mildew or mold in our air vent so by the second day we kept the air off until we went to bed- this really helped with the smell and moist air. The breakfast was standard but they continued to refill never ran out of anything which was great.
- Keith (8/5): Hotel Nizza - Room was spacious although in need of maintenance, basin plug system doesn't work, air con very noisy.
Staff were very helpful particularly reception desk.
- Fio (8/5): great hotel for the price - My friend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights before going back home. It was a convenient location because it is really close to Termini station and there are plenty restaurants open until late hours.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Its so close to the termini - So close to the termini station, good room but terrible wifi signal, nice breakfast.
- Cornel (10/5): excelent - friendly, very good service.
- Lavin (4/5): Never staying here again - We stayed here for 2 nights and I have nothing good to say about the hotel. The WiFi is terrible. A web page takes 5 mins to load and keeps disconnecting.
The powerpoints take one full day to charge your phone. As absurd as it sounds, I have never encountered a powerpoint issue in any hotel I have stayed in.
The shower is really tiny. I could not move in the shower without hitting the door or the wall
The worst part was on our last day in the morning before we checked out. The lights went off which is fine. But they kept coming back on for like 5 seconds and going back off again. This happened close to 10-20 times. We checked out by then so not sure if they came on later but when we checked out the staff at the reception were not even apologetic and did not even care that this was happening.
So anyways my experience here was prettt bad and I will not recommend this place to anyone.
- Bear (6/5): Close to centre and station - Booked room not available. Was relocated to another venue 2 blocks away. Had to go 2 blocks to have breakfast. Had difficulty in obtaining glasses for room which had none in it
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to everything you need - Close to Termini Station which was really easy for airport and metro to go sightseeing.
Hotel very clean and staff helpful - room not a bad size and lots of restaurants nearby
- Felix (4/5): Anniversary - Room to small,TV only one channel to watch, open the closet and found cloth and a bag of food I asked the front desk to re-clean the room. Wifi never worked and the breakfast was OK.
- Chriss (6/5): Small room, weak WiFi signal, a lots of noise - Small room, weak WiFi signal, a lots of noise coming from the streets, because of trafic, the phone on the corridor was ringing almost at all the time...
- Colin (6/5): Great location - Great location only a few minutes walk from Termini Station.
Rooms are small and a little worn but nice and clean and do the job. Breakfast is reasonable and included.
The mattress could be due for replacement as is did sag a fair bit.
I would return based on the location alone. Even the hop on hop off is just 200 m away.
Colin
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was ok for the price. Shower was weird, clean tho. The curtain was dirty and not doing the job. Bed was super hard.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid at all costs!! Worst hotel I ever stayed in! - The hotels condition was disgraceful. The breakfast was stale and/or completely gone off (don’t waste your money paying for it!!). All the staff (with the exception of one) were ignorant and difficult to deal with... The only saving grace for the hotel was its location but this benefit was rendered useless by the inexcusably terrible windows. If at all possible avoid this hotel!!!!!!!!!!! (First and hopefully the last time to write a bad review)
- hamed (2/5): Terrible hotel - The only good thing about this hotel was its close proximity to the Roma Tremini. Service was very poor, room was extremely run down and outdated. The room was freezing and we called twice to get an additional blanket...which never came...we finally fell sleep shivering.
by far the worst hotel we had in our 4 city vacation in Italy. Do not stay here
- Jane (8/5): Brill..very close to metro bus and rail station. - Clean and comfortable. Room a nice size and a good shower in the on suite bathroom. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. Breakfast was included in our stay, this consisted of cake pastries and toast with ham and cheese washed down with fruit juice and coffee.
The maid service was fab she came every day during out 4 day stay. We had a brill time and no complaints from us.
- Martin Sverre (4/5): What you'd expect - My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days during our stay in Rome.
The hotel is quite cheap compared to the average in Rome so we did not expect to much. The breakfast was sad, toast and jam, with some luck there was some orange juice left.
Central location close to Termini so it was easy to get around.
We can recommend this hotel to people who just need a place to stay during their vacation.
The WiFi is free but did not work for the most part.
- Ting-mei (6/5): Convenient location. Poor wifi. - Stayed four nights and wifi connectivity was spotty. We were unable to connect to the internet from our room on the second floor. In the lobby, the wifi is more stable. The television, which I suspect is linked to the wifi, was also spotty.
The location is very convenient, being so close to the Roma Termini station. The room itself is clean but some minor repairs need to be made (leaky showerheads, etc...)
Breakfast was very basic. Hot water maker was available in our room. The AC system was shut off (but I think that's pretty common in Italy for May). It's a budget hotel/motel.
If the wifi issue is resolved, we would probably stay there again for the convenience.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a three star but closer to two - Some of the staff were quite rude and not very customer oriented. There was one exception in the reception but unfortunately he was on leave during most of our stay. Room was missing all the comforts, no fridge, no extra blankets or pillows and even the promised in-room safe was not there. Room was clean though and stayed like that. Breakfast didn't have anything to offer except sweet pastries, cereal and toast. But coffee was good on those mornings when the machine worked. Last disappointment was the luggage room which was unattended and UNLOCKED.
- HASMUKH (6/5): good - good location
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - The hotel was great except they served way too much sweet with the breakfast.
