Guest Reviews
- Sukanya (10/5): - Although we were here during off season, the staff was amazing in accommodating us. Ms. Feona was super kind to my family and I, even answering questions after hours. The private beach here was a beautiful view to wake up to and breakfast was always delicious.
- Pamela (8/5): - This is a family run business. Colin was extremely helpful in all aspects. His Mom very polite and sweet. Makes you feel good
- Dutchy911 (10/5): Great family hotel - We stayed at the Catamaran for 5 nights and loved the place. We were here during the low season and had the place for our selves. We had two rooms on the ground floor (9 and 10) and appreciated the veranda next to the beach. Continental breakfast was served at our veranda and was enough for a good start of the day. We rented a car at the airport so we could explore Antigua and that worked out great. There are many restaurants in the area. We enjoyed BarB’s a lot with a nice happy hour and great food and views.
The supermarket although small is 5 minutes walk to stock your fridge.
We drove to many beaches in the area and ran a trail every morning at 6 to explore the area which was fun and good exercise.
We highly recommend the Catamaran.
- SonjaJota (10/5): Very friendly, fantastic beach!!! - This hotel was fantastic. The beach is perfectly calm, I was the only one there during my stay. The staff are incredibly sweet, the receptionist gave me a slice of her pineapple when I left!
I had checked out of another hotel on the other side of the island and so showed up at about 11 am, even though check in was 3 pm. They let me right into my room, probably because she said it was low season.
The beds are firm but comfortable, shower gets hot fast. There is a good restaurant (Cloggy's) next door and there is a little store/ice cream and snack shop pretty close by as well. Breakfast came right at the agreed-upon time, and was eggs, some fruit, juice, and toast/bread.
The surrounding area is way more low-key than the north side of the island, it is very relaxing. I would definitely come back to this hotel if I return to Antigua!
- Sonja (10/5): Great location + super friendly - I had to check out of my previous hotel so I arrived several hours before 3:00 pm check in. But the receptionist was super friendly and let me go to my room right away.
Amazing location right on its own quiet beach. Close to a good restaurant (Cloggys) and a little store and snack/ice cream shop. Breakfast was simple and very good. The housekeeping staff brought it to my room at the agreed upon time. The owner was so nice, I wish I could have stayed longer!!!
- Katie (10/5): - We loved the private beach area and pool. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great too!
- Suzanne-May3 (8/5): Don’t book with hotels.com - Lovely authentic hotel but don’t book with Hotels.com book direct.
We tried to shorten our stay for one of the two rooms we had booked within the allowable dates for change ..they say they couldn’t get hold of the hotel and by the time they did it was outside of terms …the room was relet to another family but hotels.com won’t refund us our two days despite screenshots of the conversation and the hotel not helping us resolve it . £500 out of pocket.
- Patrick (4/5): - This is a very basic level of accommodation
- Lucy (10/5): - Friendly staff, willing to help. Nice and relaxing
- Chrisoulla (10/5): Fantastic authentic Hotel - An authentic family run hotel in a great location. The staff are so friendly. The food was lovely and it has a Bar too. The rooms are large with kitchenettes. Worth getting a room with a view. Great location. Sea is clear but sloggy so beach shoes might be required.
- Barney (10/5): - Liked the beach proximity.
- lornaroundthecorner (8/5): A wonderful gem of a hotel - Just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks stay at the Catamaran hotel .
Loved so many things about this hotel . Firstly it's set on the beach and loved that I could have my first cuppa of the day with my toes in the water and in the company of whisky the 3 legged cat. The beach was never busy ,no fighting for the supercomfy sunbeds . The sea a little murky looking but safe and easy to float by the pelicans and royal terns that sat on the posts patrolling the sea for fish . Cloggies and sweet ts a few yards away for easy food and drinks and 2 supermarkets for supplies.
Found the buses run regularly into English harbour for restaurants and bars but we usually enjoyed the walk back in the dark with a torch . Found a craft beer garden called "saute",just past the crab hole supermarket which did a great healthy stir fry and into town a place called "that's life" which was also good value for money and excellent food and friendliness .
Back to the Catamaran-Colin and his family were very helpful and friendly, we had a trip o er to Pigeon point in Colins boat and our room was kept spotless by a lovely lady who was always smiling and obliging.
For those who want on tap nightlife and perfect modern rooms ,this place is not for you ! The rooms have an old fashioned look and are slightly rough round the edges ,but had everything we needed and wanted ,with breakfast being an interesting surprise everyday . Thank you for a wonderful holiday with you ♡♡♡
- Channing (8/5): - This was my second time staying at the Catamaran hotel. My experience again was lovely and peaceful. The location is perfect, because I like quieter hotels. I don't enjoy the big hotel chains, because they can be loud and I feel the experience is not always enjoyable. The other pro of this hotel is that it has a private beach and beach loungers which is very nice.
Close to English harbour and all the main tourist attractions e.g. Shirley heights , Nelson dockyard to name a few. Pigeon point beach is a nice quiet beach and is 9 minutes away in a taxi.
In summary, if you prefer a quiet, peaceful and enjoyable holiday, then I recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, nice service and very friendly tourists.
Cons
The restaurant was closed which was a real shame, because the food there was very nice when I was here in January 2024.
Breakfast was below standard, not much of a variety, and the selection of foods vary limited and often disjointed.
I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast as there are local shops and places to eat.
Overall, great experience and lovely holiday. I will definitely be coming back again next year.
- Lucy (10/5): - A lovely quiet hotel, with decent sized rooms, staff are accommodating and friendly.
- RossH1234 (10/5): Lovely hotel, friendly staff, very good value for money - The hotel location is perfect for staying at Falmouth Harbour whilst being far enough out of town to avoid the nightly hustle and bustle in the centre. The rooms are reasonable size with decent, solid furniture. We had two family rooms, which contained two double beds, showers, kitchen facilities and large fridge/freeze units. Aircon worked fine, and there were ceiling fans too.
Hotel facilities included kayaks and little sailing boats, which you could just take out whenever you fancied - there was no extra charge for this and in the time that we were there you could always get hold of them. About 750m away across the harbour you could go to Pigeon Point Beach, or there were other more secluded beaches towards the West... or you could paddle around the superyachts (there were a lot in mid January!)
We were there to welcome back a cross-Atlantic rowing team, coming in to the Yacht Club - sadly they returned at night so we couldn't greet them by kayak. The rowing boats coming in for the Worlds Toughest Race (cross-Atlantic) alight at English Harbour, which is the next bay along, but it would not be safe to get round there in the small kayaks. It's great fun watching them come in, holding flares aloft while lots of the yachts and superyachts are blowing their horns and the support boats are racing round them, doing "doughnuts".
We hired a car from a local company, and there was always plenty of parking space at the rear of the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful all the time. They gave good advice on local places to visit, eating locations, supermarkets and so on. There were a couple of eating places very close (Cloggys and Sweet Ts). Other guests used the local buses to get into town (only a mile or so away, but few people seemed to walk that far).
Our rooms faced onto a private(?) beach, and in the week that we stayed there we only saw other hotel guests and staff, with no pedlars hassling you to buy souvenirs.
Breakfasts were served each morning on the verandas in front of the rooms at 8:15am, give or take a 1/4 hour. This gave ample opportunity to chat with the neighbours, or studiously look the other way if you didn't like the look of them! We made some great new friends by chatting with other guests while waiting for breakfasts.
The island isn't particularly bad for mosquitos, and there were mesh screens on all doors anyway.
For things to do nearby, the music and food at Shirley Heights on a Thursday or Sunday is great and good value for money, and no trip to Antigua is complete without a visit to Stingray City. There are lots of restaurants in the area, and we never found a bad one.
Our favourite supermarket nearby was "Crab Hole Liquors" (not least because the name sounds like a pun). The Covent Garden supermarket in Falmouth Harbour may be the largest supermarket nearby but the range wasn't actually all that good and it seemed very expensive - clearly aiming at the superyacht crowd who didn't care what they were spending.
- Marialynne (10/5): Nice family friendly hotel on the beach - Lovely small hotel tucked away at Falmouth harbour, nice, quiet and relaxing, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast delivered to the room could have been better quality. The hotel is a bit of a walk away from the main road and transport facilities, so need a car to get around. Otherwise enjoyed the stay for five nights, would certainly recommend it for a couple or family
- Danny (10/5): - Very nice atmosphere! Very, very quiet! Nice little restaurant and bar on the property. Staff and service was great.
- Peter (10/5): - I think ….a couple of things. One was the ability to check in well beyond our check in time but that might be because it wasn’t too busy (and check out time is 12 noon!!)
Two was its location on the beach, with a perfect blend of the essence of the Caribbean..proximity to beach, ambience and coziness both on and off the beach. It is a beautiful, secluded, well shaded and quiet place to disconnect.
And Whiskey, the three legged feline, captivated all in our party!
Would highly recommend!!
- Alison (10/5): - On beach front close to Falmouth , small hotel so limited facilities but location excellent, all rooms with beach front downstairs or beach view from balcony upstairs
- ttriciamck2015 (10/5): Relaxing, friendly location - Visited with exclusive group. Lovely character full hotel with brilliant staff. Location is fantastic with the bay to ourselves apart from the pelicans. Water is very gentle but deep enough to swim. Although many bars and attractions closed for off season, would happily return
- Sadaf (2/5): - Nothing in the room worked. Staff was nice enough but it’s a hostel at most. AC not working and I was bounced around 2 rooms 5 times. For the price I paid I would not recommend.
- Natalie (8/5): - You cannot beat the location of this little hotel. It has real charm and is completely authentic. Do not expect the Ritz or what you would get in Europe - it’s basic but functional. The pool is a bonus and having Cloggy’s so close was fantastic. English harbour town has everything you need and a trip on the Kayaks is a must!
- Stephan (10/5): - Though my stay was more business oriented, the stay was very peaceful and easy to get work done in a very relaxed setting. Room was very comfortable and staff was helpful and friendly.
It is a very peaceful and safe location, perfect to work from, the veranda of the room (each room has separate area) that overlooks the bay/harbour was ideal to wake early in the mornings to work.
- NevisTony (10/5): Cute homey hotel. - Fabulous harbour front Inn with great views of Falmouth Harbour.
The staff are attentive and help when required.
Nice continental breakfast, with local fresh fruits.
Bottled water is supplied in abundance.
Next to the harbour, Marina, and fabulous Croggies restaurant.
- natalieb284 (8/5): A charming place! - A truly charming place in a wonderful location. It is really peaceful and the grounds lovely. We enjoyed the amenities and the facilities it had to offer including use of the kayaks and the complimentary boat rides over to English harbour town. Being family- run it has that friendly feel and they make you feel really welcome. A few upgrades to the rooms are needed as the hardware is looking and feeling tired, although the shabby chic vibe is a reminder you are in the Caribbean. Breakfasts were yummy and varied! We always had enough.
- colleend394 (10/5): Perfect home base for our island exploring family of 4!! - Amazing quaint personable and clean! Perfect location, close to English and Falmouth harbor. We rented a jeep and drove the whole island day and night for a week with our family of 4, and this was the perfect home base. Great daily housekeeping, and my little girl loved the 8 am knocking for breakfast delivery each day! We loved it and would def return! Bring mosquito spray!
- EJP_Sunshine (8/5): All the superlatives! - This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful and tranquil setting. I stayed in one of the superior view apartments which was spacious and well situated including a kitchenette and large wardrobe. I loved my early morning coffees overlooking the calm and peaceful harbour.
The private beach and small pool had plenty of sun beds as well as options in the shade, with easy access to the shallow sea.
The breakfasts had variety and a good selection, and were a great opportunity to admire the views and the antics of the pelicans diving for fish! I would have liked more choices for the evening meal but mass catering isn’t easy and I certainly didn’t starve!
The bar is run as a separate entity and could probably benefit from some focus to bring the standards and ambience up to match the rest of the hotel. Having said that the Cuban night that they arranged for us was one of the highlights of my holiday.
I would definitely return to the Catamaran again, thank you to Feona, Colin and all the team.
- T5682DJjanett (10/5): Fabulous holiday - Just got back from a fabulous holiday. Hotel was a little tired but the staff made up for this in their friendliness and great hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and we were greeted everyday with a smile. My room was clean and had everything needed for a lovely beach holiday. Would not hesitate to recommend.

- helga1985 (8/5): Hotel with Private Beach - We stayed for a night. This hotel was on Falmouth beach. The room was large with a kitchenette. A large closet and A/C. A good size balcony. A bathroom with toiletries. The shower was ok a bit difficult to get the temperature right though. The hotel is directly on a private beach with plenty of sunbeds and cabanas. Breakfast is continental and served directly to your room. It was surprisingly good with hot toast and sausage and potato. Fruit and jams.
- sarahrR3107VC (2/5): Horrid hotel with poor management - avoid. - This hotel could be a gem - the location is charming but the hotel is dated, run down and disorganised. The lady owner is rude and complacent - guests are clearly an inconvenience to her - and she gives no direction to a lazy, slow and incompetent staff.
Breakfast was poor in terms of quality and variety; dinner was marginally better but erratic. The evening chef did his best but he had no help and worked very long hours.
There were no sun umbrellas on the beach or by the pool, and little shade, so several in our party got badly burnt on the first day. Beach and room towels were old and thin. Despite being old fashioned and rickety, with tired bedding and dubious pillows, the rooms were well cleaned.
This must be the shabbiest and most unfriendly hotel in Antigua.
- Z6273SPstephens (10/5): wonderful real hotel in Antigua. - it is a wonderful hotel, my favorite was the three legged cat whiskey. we are headed back for our fourth trip there at the end of march 2024 so of course we love it, it is our home away from home.
also the views in the lorning and at sunset is just stunning, Collin at the front desk is wonderful as well andnlove all his plants he is growing
- Ernest (2/5): - Great location… very old, tired and sad rooms… nobody there when I arrived to check in… no phone number… got lucky, reached someone… waited 45 minutes for them to arrive. But nice view… someone needs to dump some money into fixing it up…
- Caroline (2/5): - Great stay. Great location to visit my daughter who is working at Falmouth harbour. Great that there is a little boat to take you across to pigeon beach for free and kayaks also for free. Breakfast brought to the room which was more than a continental breakfast. Pity no lunch options and the restaurant is lacking for the evening. Hardly anyone uses it. Plenty of sunbeds but not many padded cushions for the wooden ones ??. I did however enjoy my stay and Rufus who picked me up from the airport was excellent and became like a personal driver for myself and my daughter at a reasonable cost.
- Louis (10/5): - Property was fine, our 2nd story room was fine. Water pressure a bit low for showering.
- Rich (10/5): - Nice property with wonderful views of the Falmouth Harbour. A clean and safe beach just steps from the balcony. Breakfast delivered to the room every morning. Several restaurants within walking distance. We had a wonderful stay.
- Desmond (6/5): - Great view
- John (10/5): - Lovely large room with large terrace overlooking the beach and marina. A quiet and beautiful location for a relaxing holiday. Would recommend having a car to get around.
- Dean (8/5): - For a longer stay you'll need a car as not much within walkable distance. Perfect for us though to stop 3 nights here. Staff great as we found throughout Antigua. Hotel is a bit shabby in places but perfectly good to stay in and right on a small beach. Air con unit in our room was brand new and worked great.
- Jehan (4/5): - Nice spot on the beach. Area is quiet. Very outdated rooms. Could hear the constant walking and shuffling from room above. Restaurant at hotel served good food, but not enough for the price plus much of the menu items weren't available. A complimentary breakfast was brought to the room every morning which was nice.
- Michael (10/5): - We went in October (low season) and weren't told in advance that the hotel restaurant would be closed and there was no indication on the Expedia website either. However, our apartment was equipped with a full sized cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer which were brand new. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, gave a personalised service and were happy to cater for our particular needs. We really appreciated the great care the team took of their guests. The hotel, located in the Nelson dockyard National Park, has historic sites and secluded beaches within easy reach and is close to two convenience stores as well as on the bus route, although a hire car is better to explore the rest of this beautiful island. We would not hesitate in recommending this family run hotel and would very happily stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely small hotel; great staff, on the beach - We loved our post-sail 4 nights at the family owned/run The Catamaran. On the beach in a quiet part of Falmouth Hbr. Not fancy rather, comfy and homey. Good amenities, very close (walkable) to 2 good restaurant/bars. Owners were delightful.
- Sharon (10/5): - Our first day we were greeted by Fiona, who invited us to eat with her family.. The Food was fantastic and so was the kindness of Fiona and her family. That was really impressive..
- Shawne (10/5): - Need to have a light blanket for each bed.
- Liya (10/5): - A family of 4 stayed for 5 nights just before Xmas. Amazing beach front view, close to nice restaurants and to pigeon point and galleon beaches. Great to have breakfast brought to our room each morning. Staff were very friendly, and thoroughly cleaned our room each day. Be prepared for mosquitos. Due to the season, insects outside made loud noise each night, and when that noise quietened, the roosters nearby started yelling nonstop from 5am in the morning. Nothing wrong with the hotel, but something to be aware of.
- Carol (8/5): Good spot for a stop over - Nice place to find by accident as we had an extra night in Antigua.
Fitted out apartment and continental breakfast brought to the room.
Good beach area and pool. Very quiet at the moment.
Lovely weather helped our stay even more
- oritta (10/5): - Boat ride included
- 609halef (8/5): Charming hotel With its beach on the bay - Long standing hotel with kitchenette adjacent to the harbor Clean, charming, but not the over the top elegance of some spots. Run by a second generation proprietress who is friendly. Reasonably priced. Nice small beach with small sailboats. Water boards to use. Continental
Breakfast provided
- 797colec (10/5): Absolutely Amazing - Absolutely amazing hotel. Waking up with the sounds of the beach right outside to a hot breakfast delivered each morning blew me away. Lovely staff. Huge hearts and value you. When the last hurricane hit they made sure I was safe and had any/all resources I needed. Best hotel in Antigua.
- modfilm (10/5): Excellent, reasonably priced hotel. - The Catamaran is a perfect base from which to explore Antigua. It is in a quiet location, right on the sea front, and near to English and Falmouth harbour. We had the large studio for a couple and our teenage child, it had a kitchen, table and chairs, sofas and comfy beds. The rooms were spotless, the air conditioning perfect. The room was cleaned every day, lots of clean towels. Fiona, the owner and all her staff are super friendly. Continental breakfast is included every day, but always has an extra treat - depending on what Fiona feels like cooking, it was amazing every day as it was brought to our balcony, where we sat over looking the sea, tucking into french toast, fruit and yogurt or bagels and cheese. There is a restaurant on site, but it is closed in the off season whilst we were there. Colin, Fiona's son will drop you to Pigeon point beach if you like (we had a car, so didn't ask). Pigeon Point is a fabulous beach and whilst there you must try Bumpkins for cocktails and food.
There are loads of chickens running around making noise, and crickets, who are super noisy, but we just got used to the sounds of the area.
If you want to really explore the area and not be in an all inclusive, I would highly recommend this small family run hotel. I would stay here again.
- micheledA4869OE (10/5): Wonderful gem in the Caribbean - The Catamaran Hotel is a wonderful gem on the Caribbean island of Antigua. It is small a boutique hotel which is owned and run by Feona and her son Colin, supported by a friendly team (many of whom are members of their family), who have gone out of their way to make our stay here enjoyable and comfortable, despite a near miss by Hurricane Tammy.
It is not a 5 star all inclusive and there isn’t a gym or beauty salon onsite, so if those things are important to you then it is probably not the place for you. However, in my opinion, the authenticity of the hotel, the genuine warmth of the owners and staff and the beautiful location (less than 10 steps from my room onto the sandy beach) make it a much more attractive, peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Here you are treated and cared for individually, not as one of hundreds of guests in a large resort.
This was my second holiday at the Catamaran Hotel and it certainly won’t be my last.
- janetsD3415IV (8/5): Calm even in a storm - I recently stayed at this lovely hotel in Falmouth Harbour on the recommendation of 2 ladies I previously met on another holiday. The hotel is situated in a sheltered bay with a small sandy beach. I had a lovely room which had both a single and a double bed with a balcony overlooking the sea. Larger rooms are well equipped with a kitchen including a cooker, fridge and coffee maker. The hotel is ideally suited to anyone who likes a tranquil, peaceful holiday with attentive and personal service from the owner and her staff. It is not suitable for those who prefer a large all inclusive hotel. Food was provided buffet style on a half board basis, but the hotel is only a short walk to two local supermarkets, so I was able to make my own lunch on days I stayed at the hotel. The beach has plenty of sunbeds and parasols and the hotel has a small swimming pool for those who don't like swimming in the sea. Air conditioning is provided free of charge, but a local charge is payable for the hire of a safe for valuables. The bar is run independently of the hotel and any drinks have to be purchased in cash ideally in US$. Unfortunately the weather was wet and and windy on some days during my stay, which is to be expected at this time of year, but the average daily temperature was still 30c. The owner of the hotel also made sure we were well informed about a storm that thankfully never arrived. I hope to return to the Catamaran again one day and would recommend it to to anyone who likes a small friendly hotel
- Traveler66335445265 (10/5): Second great visit. - This is the second time I've visited and I cannot speak highly enough of my stay again. It's a family run hotel with a warm welcome. Feona and her staff went the extra mile to make my stay a great pleasure.
Each room comes with a fully equipped kitchen. The food is great and they can organise trips, travel and activities if needed. Although the pool is small, it is well looked after and has good views of the sea, beach and harbour. The hotel also has complimentary kayaks and small sail boats.
If you like small boutique style hotels which make you 'at home', this is the place for you.
- jimenez (10/5): - i like the QUITE place, and beatiful view
- Faith (4/5): - Pros - The hotel is locally owned. The owner is very personable and relates well to her guests. The property is fairly clean and there is also daily room cleaning. The unit is clean and adequately furnished with a comfortable bed, small dining table, and a kitchen. Breakfast was delivered to my room every morning. Kimberly was extremely hospitable and welcoming.
Cons - When I arrived at the hotel after 4pm, (according to the website, check begins at 3 pm) the concierge was annoyed at the time I arrived because she let me know that she was off the clock as soon as I got out of the taxi. The restaurant was closed and I was told that it was closed because it's off season and there weren't enough guests at the hotel for it to be open. By the way, the website stated that there are two restaurants onsite however, there is only one. The restaurant did open on my third and fourth night there due to having more guests. There is a restaurant up the road from the hotel (Sweet T's) however their menu consists mainly of burgers. The beach is murky and muddy so I ended up going to Pigeon Point Beach which is close to the hotel for a $24USD round trip taxi ride. The concierge who is related to the owner had the most disgusting attitude whenever I asked her a question about going on tour or something that I needed. I ended up booking tours with Suntours Antigua to avoid dealing with her. If you're going to stay here, you need to rent a car because cabs are very expensive.
- Andrea (10/5): - Incredibly kind staff. Beautiful setting with calm beach right outside my room. Different breakfast every morning but very good, with fresh fruit always.
Would go back in a heart beat!😁
- Paul (10/5): Peaceful and lovely - We loved this charming little slice of Antigua. The hotel, the beach, the Harbour - so placid and peaceful. Very easy to get around from here but we almost did not need to. Loved the option of using the free kayaks - went across the harbor to Pigeon Point beach a couple of times. Fun and gave me the feeling that I’d “earned” my beach time. Breakfast in the morning was tasty as well.
- James (8/5): - Decent hotel on the water. Unfortunately beach out front is a no go as the gooey mud on the bottom makes for an uncomfortable swim. However, Colin, Anik and others who run it are very nice people who will do all they can to assist you. Location is great as there are many good restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Comes with a nice continental breakfast as well. Overall, a nice place to stay as you can head out to discover the many beaches on the island and explore.
- IVY (8/5): - The place is nice and relaxing. The staff are friendly. The area is clean, we have the ocean view room. The only thing I did not like is the sound of the chicken that wakes you up so early, other than that everything is great.
- Leslie (10/5): - We had a wonderful vacation. We enjoyed how close it was to English Harbor. It was a very relaxing trip. Thank you to a wonderful staff.
- Leslie (8/5): - We got the basics we need. Property was the right location for our IT.
- Francesca (6/5): - The hotel and its beach are really beautiful – a seriously stunning setting. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, including kitchens. The owner is very kind and friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel was undertaking construction when I visited, which had not been communicated, and it made relaxing on the beautiful beach almost impossible. The construction work even took place on a Sunday. What's more, two male staff members came on to me, including commenting on my body in a bikini, which made me feel really uncomfortable and like I couldn't sunbathe again. It was all friendly, but yes, made me feel deeply uncomfortable. Anyway, it's a beautiful place!
- Barry (10/5): - Colin and his mom were absolutely fantastic. My wife and I stayed 1/27-2/3 and we loved it. Couldn’t ask for a better location, perfect weather, beach front, harbor nearby.
- Roberta (8/5): - Very nice, small hotel with its own beach and pool. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is well located to drive to restaurants and attractions and a couple of fun dining places within walking distance.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Fiona was warm and welcoming when we arrived. Room was spacious and sparkling clean, slightly better as pictured on website. Staff was friendly and polite. Housekeeping was thorough. I would not choose to come to this resort if I didn't have outside plans on the island throughout the week, however it was a clean and comfortable place to sleep, the breakfast was lovely each morning and the server was adorable and remembered from day to day our prefences. The beach area was well kept. We would recommend this property to others and found it was perfect for what we expected and what we needed. It looks like they are builing additional rooms, and that said, construction was not at all disturbing and did not infringe on our peace and quiet.
- Teresa (8/5): - Very welcoming. Loved the view from our balcony, breakfast on the deck inches from the water and convenience for amenities of English Harbour.
- Mary-Ann (10/5): Wonderful location at a good price. - Lovely ground floor room with a patio area. Kitchenette was much appreciated. Daily excellent maid service kept the sand at bay. Breakfast was plated and included fruit, yoghurt and a carb. This was very pleasant and just enough. Would have been nice to have the option of a buffet or a little more food. Breakfast was served in the adjacent restaurant which is right on the water and really lovely. It is possible to get a really good dinner at the Cuban restaurant but service and availability of options was a little random.
Loved mornings watching the yachts and birds come and go.
We took out kayaks and went over to pigeon bay beach with great snorkeling.
- Vadim (8/5): - Good
- FABIO (8/5): - Good hotel marina, optimal position, wonderful view, clean and quite
- Robert Scott (8/5): - Basic, but comfortable clean and cheerful. The service is a bit random (whether things are open or not like the restaurant, or getting the ride to pigeon beach, or getting beach towels).
- sheneka (10/5): - The view was exquisite!
It was very peaceful. The staff was very friendly.
Loved the proximity to English Harbor!
- Madeleine (8/5): - Will definitely return.
- Heidi (8/5): Catamaran hotel, Antigua - Great boutique hotel for anyone looking for a more authentic stay away from the resort concept. Rooms are basic but certainly suited our needs, regularly cleaned and having direct access to a lovely little beach and pool we really enjoyed.
We had a terrace and loved spending time just taking in the amazing view.
The local Italian restaurant was pleasant, staff lovely and food good. However we were recommended that as we arrived as essentially the only option. We did not return and the only reason for that was the price, we felt exceptionally expensive compared to other places.
We ate at
The Galley Bar at Nelsons dockyard, lovely for a lunch and well priced.
Pillars, stunning location, good food, service and still cheaper than the Italian near the hotel.
Sweet-T is the go to for ice creams and lunch/dinner - very well priced food.
We also ate in a couple of places around the English Harbour marina that were all good.
Hired a jeep from Big S in old English harbour, the best car hire service we have ever experienced.
We will most definitely return, and as long as you aren’t expecting resort standard then this is a perfect place to stay.
- Michael (10/5): - Stayed there Feb 2022: The staff were excellent and friendly!!!! Very helpful and always there to answer any questions. The accommodations were fantastic and very clean! Luv it!!!!
Mike and Barb
- Peter (10/5): Super chilled break - Peaceful and relaxing break beside Falmouth Harbour quay. Continental breakfast with fresh fruit was delivered to the room each morning. The kitchen facilities mean you can stock the fridge and relax on the beach chairs or balcony. The water is clean for swimming but a trip on the kayaks or a dingy for a small fee can take you to Pidgeon Beach across the harbour for a swim. You will need a car or taxi to get to English Harbour.
- Eric (8/5): - We loved our stay at The Catamaran Hotel, the staff go out of their way to make your stay special and the location is great for accessing Falmouth Harbour. Also the hotel boat to Pigeon Point Beach was so convenient
- Marilyn (10/5): Quiet & Relaxing & comfortable - Loved this small unpretentious hotel in a super spot - very quiet & relaxing- would definitely stay again …
- Natalya (8/5): - Great location, right by the beach. You definitely need a car
- Reshma (10/5): - The property is located on the water. Great view of the ships. Use of kayaks was a plus. Great breakfast delivered every morning. Staff very helpful in making reservations and suggestions. They have a DR that makes house visits for COVID testing when you need it to return to the US. Overall, a great stay!!! Thank you.
- Estelle (2/5): - Unresponsive staff. We had to cancel our stay at the last minute due to Covid and we asked by email if they could confirm in writing that no refund will be offered. This was for us to be reimbursed by our insurance. The Catamaran Hotel never bothered answering. Basically, it's okay t grab the money with no hassle but the minute you ask for a little gesture toward customers there is nobody at the end of the line. It made me almost glad we didn't go.
- David (10/5): - Great place.. right in the water, super quiet and tranquil
- Jane (8/5): - Restaurant was not open.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Right on the beach. Very helpful staff.
Very small coffee maker. Not enough utensils, plates, glasses, pans, etc. Restaurant closed. Not much close by.
MOSQUITOS.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location-friendly efficient staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very authentic and friendly. Not luxury but oh so much more! Owner and staff outstanding! Older but very clean and well maintained. Stay here for a true island experience! And give Fatima and Colin our best!
- Karen (10/5): Great find - Fiona and the team go out of their way to make you feel at home .
Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Fantastic staff, but the resort is VERY tired. Plastic undersheets, dark walls (with suspect wiring) and rot in the steps up to our unit. Beautiful views, sandy beach but muddy ocean floor. Very good value BUT needs a makeover.
- Kieran (10/5): Best hotel! - This hotel is perfect - the location is amazing and the pictures (even though they look great) do not do it justice. The beach area is so peaceful and the hotel has great little touches such as free use of kayaks, hammocks on your veranda and great beach beds. I cannot recommend this place enough. Colin the manager is great as well and very helpful!
- David (10/5): Super relaxing - Great relaxing spot with easy beach and pool access. Would have loved to have the onsite restaurant open but Covid limited things. Very very nice staff !
Could use the water sports kayaks etc which made it extra fun !
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Car essential. No where to eat. Marina water. Excellent view though
- Verified traveler (6/5): They need to communicate and be more transparent. - It’s super good location to English Harbour, lovely beach in front of my room and 2 restaurants, but I didn’t know until arrival that the restaurant on-site was closed. They hosted a wedding which was beautiful, but meant no access to the beach and I was not informed before hand.
- Robert (10/5): Fantastic - What can I say the place was fantastic the service was superior they couldn’t do enough to please you.
They really know how to take care of their guest.
Anyone going to Antigua you must stay at this facility is great !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful place with a private beach with amazing views and a pool. Rooms are huge and prefectly clean with everything you need. Staff were brilliant!! so helpful. Shops and stuff a short walk and then a pleasant 25 min walk to English harbour and Nelson dockyard etc... Would defo go back
- Marie (10/5): - A family run hotel which made it even more special, all the staff and family members went out of their way to help us enjoy our trip. Lovely fresh breakfast, free sailing lesson, huge rooms, comfy beds and a view to die for in the morning was s6a77d to leave. Lovely little supermarket up the road and Sweet T's which sells food and drink but we didn't get to try. Hope I get to come back. Thank you so much. Oh and nice rum punch on arrival
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The small beach and views. Quiet hotel with a nice pool.
- Sonja (10/5): - Fantastic time!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Keep up the good work! Had a very nice and quiet evening. Well positioned next to a nice Italian restaurant as well. Will be back for a longer stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A real gem. After spending five days sailing to Antigua we opted to get off the boat and stay at the hotel tied to the marina. What a pleasant surprise! The property is a charming little hotel at the head of the harbor with beautiful views. The room was clean and very adequate, and a real bargain for the price. The office staff are very accommodating and went out of their way to help us check in late at night. The hotel is a short taxi ride away to the action in English Harbour, but there is a nice little restaurant at the hotel and at the end of the street, and a more upscale haunt at the marina just a few feet away. I am usually a five star hotel traveler, but was totally charmed by the Catamaran Hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very peaceful and very calm. I like that the staff was very understanding, generous and hospitable. I would definitely be returning
- patrick (8/5): - The service in the restaurant was terrific, and right on the water, magic spot. We were there off season so the restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch, but breakfast was included and really good. Close to English Harbor and the Antigua Yaught Club was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic beach location - A fantastic apartment right on the beach. Fiona was very friendly and welcoming and the room was spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay here again
