The hot breakfast with variety of bread and muffins and fresh fruits are delicious! The free shuttle service from and to the airport is nice and convenient! We really enjoyed our two-night stay!
- Mary (6/5): - We unfortunately had a room right across from the washers/dryers and the employee break area - it was very loud in the early morning (5:30-7:00am) and also in the evenings. We also had an issue with the rental car (dead battery) - the 24/7 roadside assistance was very slow to respond (waited 1 1/2 hours and called back and were told it would be another 45 minutes at least). Took taxi back to hotel and the hotel staff got us a new car and we could then continue with our plans. We understand that issues happen, but when you only have 3 days on the island, a 4 hour delay is painful.

- Shlomi Shlomo (4/5): - The hotel is the level of a run-down Best western, if you know what I mean. Restaurant is pretty good. Bar is o.k too, but not too friendly bartender. Rooms can be cleaner, but overall reasonable. Bed-mattresses are probably very old, as you fell like sleeping in an hammock, maybe because of years of very obese people staying in them. Restaurant menu is ridicules, with some of the same items appearing twice, with different price… You order something from the menu that is priced at $4 and later they bring you the bill and you are being charged for $5 They show you the same item for $5 in another line in the menu, and even you show then you order the $4 item, they refuse to back off. Not so nice… Stayed also at the Moana O Sina resort. Much better choice!!!

The front desk staff were all unhelpful, did not speak English well, denied I had a reservation with Expedia , have no authority and the manager is seldom on site. The bathroom needed an overall deep clean, the laundry line didn’t work and the toilet was challenging to flush. There is a $5 charge for poor internet that did not work outside the building at bar seating or at the pool. The continental breakfast is minimal and unhealthy. The bed however was extremely comfortable, pool refreshing, massage excellent, shuttle worked well, store was good and the restaurant food was acceptable, if overcooked.
- Robin (10/5): A Lovely Stay - Parking was convenient and check-in/out was quick and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable with a well functioning AC. While the bed was comfortable to sleep on, sitting on the edge, it was easy to tell that these mattresses were near the end of their life. Very much appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. The included continental breakfast had limited options but quality food; I was disappointed that the suafa’i wasn’t available every day because it was so delicious when it was available. There was no hair dryer in the room already but one was readily supplied upon request. The water was hot and the pressure was decent. While showing some signs of wear, this was still a very pleasant trip and I highly recommend staying at Tradewinds when visiting American Samoa!

- Tafa (10/5): - The hotel is beautiful and exceeded my expectations. It has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the lobby is stunning. The food is excellent as well. The hotel offers a great workout area, a nail salon, and massage services, complemented by a small boutique featuring local items that represent the island's culture. The swimming pool is nice and warm, and I appreciate that the hotel is conveniently close to the airport. Their car rental service is a fantastic travel option, and the airport service helps with check-ins and check-outs, making everything very convenient. If you have any questions or concerns during your stay, don’t hesitate to ask the front desk or the bellboys in the lobby; they are excellent sources of information. Just a heads up: the hotel does not have an ATM, so please plan accordingly. However, there are ATMs and banks nearby as you explore the islands. I highly recommend checking out Tradewinds. - Rosalia (10/5): Great place to stay. - We had a lovely 9 night stay in Tradewinds. The hotel was very nice and offers many amenities. Our room had a fridge and microwave, there was complimentary breakfast daily. We will definitely stay again.
- Will (4/5): - I was very disappointed in the service. In emails, they were surprisingly curt and unhelpful. While staying there, I asked them to book me a one way taxi ride from the hotel to Fagasa Pass in order to do the Mount Álava trail. When I asked the front desk to check the cost, they told me the charge would be $50, but when I afterwards checked with locals, and confronted the front desk again, they confirmed it should’ve cost $35 tops. When I complained, management refused to take any responsibility for facilitating this swindle and claimed that they shouldn’t need to look out for their guests when they are acting as intermediaries, nor should they be aware of average taxi prices. They went so far as to tell me that I should’ve taken photos of the cab, as if it were my mistake to have trusted the hotel to book a reliable taxi in the first place. Additionally, when I asked about how to get back from Vatia after hiking, rather than go through any effort to find me a solid solution, they simply told me to ask a local for help instead once I got there. Ironically, the front desk’s refusal to help me themselves was one of the better (non)actions they took, and I ended up hitchhiking with a very kind family. WiFi costs an additional $5 a day. Although the rooms look clean on the surface, any closer look reveals layers of grime that have not been addressed, especially in the bathroom. The hotel is convenient to the airport and little else.

- Marie (6/5): - If you just want a place to stay that has AC then this is it. The beds dipped down as soon as I sat on one. The pillows were flat. The door to the bathroom when opened pulled off a section of the door frame and wall each time. A very basic breakfast of bread and cereal. I didn’t have high hopes or expectations but it was a place to stay.

- Emma (6/5): - Poor maintenance of the room. This is my family's first time staying at the far end rooms. There are holes on the wall. The shower floor is dirty. Only one bottled shampoo and soap. Table is half broken. Room was not available for a whole hour. In which the management said they will compensate by checking out at 2pm instead of noon. The air feels stuffy. I have nothing positive to say about this stay. So might as well stop here.

- BRANDON (10/5): Best of American Samoa - Overall a great option for a trip to American Samoa. NPS is about 30-45 minutes drive away. You can rent a car directly from the hotel, which is a great option. Shuttle service complimentary to and from the airport. Well kept up and clean. Pool is great, but you may have to share with local children that can rent it out. Staff was helpful and nice. Complimentary breakfast is coffee, bread, and fruit, but there is an option to order if you need more and are willing to spend. Based on other people we talked to on the island, it is by far your best option to stay. Would recommend!

- Joseph (10/5): - American Samoa is the ultimate South Pacific experience. I've been to Hawaii and Guam and AS is hands down the best Pacific destination I've ever been to. If you're into authentic culture and ecotourism this is the place to be. You don't have to be Samoan to fit in. As they told me at the Tradewinds Equator Bar. "We're all family!" The Tradewinds is the best hotel in American Samoa. You're going to love it there!

The staff are exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and the food in the restaurant is created by professional chefs. Top notch. We watched the Superbowl in the bar which was really fun, and the special menu for the day great.

- Mary (4/5): - As a local, returning home after more than eight years, I was disappointed from the rudeness from the front desk staff and un attentive of the workers in the restaurant. What’s more disappointing and embarrassing, I flew down with a few auditor employees coming across the mainland to audit ASPA & our only local hospital. As these folks recognized me, they approached me and voiced a concern about the front desk female being very rude & non accommodating when asked about the shuttle service to the airport. I approached and asked the young lady for a shuttle ride to the airport and she immediately called the driver and notified me it will take another 10mins wait. Shuttle came and I immediately alerted the group to hop on. They were pleased but the sound of their frustration of how they were first treated and told there’s no service to the airport. The last shuttle was 8pm local time. I was a bit obscure;( My personal experience of rudeness was when I came down to ask for a blow dryer, iron and ironing board. And the lady looked at me, crazy & the tone of her voice was very not very professional nor supportive. The restaurant workers were probably under paid cause they had me wait with my nieces for more than 35 minutes before she noticed we were sitting there. Mind you, I have been calling her over our table while she was walking in and out from the kitchen.

The free breakfast was enough (the breakfast staff is great), but you could order from a menu if you'd rather $. The pool and area are very nice, and there are washers & dryers on-site. Coffee, Tea, and a Microwave in the room. Very clean room & bathroom. Airport shuttle. Very Cold AC. I would stay here again and I highly recommend this Hotel.

The staff was very friendly and this was a very convenient place to stay near the airport with a free shuttle to/from airport and we could even get a rental car right there at the hotel, which helped tremendously. But a some (especially the one closest to the door) were appalling - playing on phone, hugely inconvenienced and sneering if asked for anything. She needs a back office role.
- GERALD (8/5): - The staff is very friendly and helpful at all levels, and usually responded quickly to requests. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the beds are very comfortable. But maintenance was not good. Very low water pressure in the shower and a general appearance of deferred maintenance. Staff and/or locals seemed to have a party just outside the hotel entrance after dark on most nights so that it was to noisy to leave the window open.
- Deborah (8/5): - Of the 3 hotels we stayed in, this is really the only one that I would recommend. Only complaint is the free breakfast. The coffee was good, but the juice was horrific. I'm not a breakfast eater so the toast and breads were not something I was interested in, but the coffee was. In my opinion, it would have been better to not have the breakfast and have free WiFi instead.
- Andrew (8/5): - Comfortable and easy stay. Had to pay for wifi.
- Marie (10/5): - The Deluxe Suite was very nice and spacious. It was clean and AC worked very well. Best part was the nice, comfy bed. I want one just like it. Complimentary breakfast had your usual coffee, tea, bread (toast) with a variety of jams and jellies, scones, muffins and a red velvet cupcake. They also had supoesi. Overall, a wonderful stay.
- Collena (10/5): - The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel suite was clean and spacious.
- Emma (10/5): - Front desk was friendly. Check in was easy. It did not take 5 minutes for them to check us in. My only complaint was during our 2 night stay, everytime we leave our room, we made sure the maid service sign was outside. To our disappointment our room was never serviced. We left our room again, we saw the maids cart in front of the room acrossed ours, so I made sure the maid service sign was on the door knob outside AGAIN. On our way back to our room, about 3 to 4 maids were standing, gossiping, and laughing at the end of the hall and never bothered to clean our room. Our appreciation goes to the old lady (maid) that checked us out.
- Summer (6/5): - The hotel itself was pretty average. The rooms were a decent size and there were decent facilities, but the nightly price was so expensive I would have expected better amenities and better treatment from the staff. The front desk staff came off very rude in emails and interactions and honestly it made me unwelcome. For the price I paid, there should have been more hospitality.
