- katybarker (10/5): Loved our visit, best views from our room - I don’t usually review but I feel I should. This hotel was just lovely. I’d emailed them before we arrived and they communicated excellently, gave me recommendations for restaurants. I’d not upgraded our room but our room was lovely and clean and had the most amazing views over the city. The beds are 2 singles pushed together so there is a gap. The breakfast was very adequate too, zero complaints. We went for a quick dinner next door before drinks and we have never encountered a more happy, friendly and cool guy in Roman! Beef goulash was unreal too. I’d highly recommend this hotel. Was lovely to walk to the old town from here and just at the bottom of the hill going up to the castle. Thankyou Hotel Golden Star, we really loved our stay.

Every facility was catered for. Breakfasts were good. Hotel reception staff were all very helpful. We would definitely stay again should we return to Prague.

Staff are all wonderful and welcoming. Great restaurant and bar, exceptional breakfast. Would highly recommend for anyone planning a city break in Prague.
- Curious15188751931 (10/5): Perfect hotel - what a gem! - We stayed at the golden star for 4 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday and we had an amazing time! The hotel is absolutely beautiful - the rooms are large and tastefully decorated. We were so lucky to have a room looking out over the main street down to Charles Bridge - it was stunning! Everything was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was superb - so much choice and very tasty indeed! We certainly didn't need lunch! Our first time in Prague and for us this was the perfect place to stay. Prague has so much to offer that we will definitely be back to enjoy more of it's beauty - and would 100% stay at the golden star again. Thank you for making our trip so special xx

- 638rezar (10/5): Gem by the Palace - Picture perfect. Well situated away from the hustle and busstle. Great view of the city. Excellent hotel with great staff. Rooms are large with all the emenities that one needs. Clean room and hotel all around. All staff were friendlly. Breakfast was great and enough essentials for the size of the hotel. It was always replenished every 5 min. Not sure when, if am in Prague will be back for sure. The retaurant was also amazing with local dishes.
- avab462 (10/5): Lovely hotel with great location - We went in the low season and we were able to checkin around noon. We were given a voucher for free drinks in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is very modern and nicely decorated rooms. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk away from the castle with spectacular views of Prague from our room. It is near the top of the hill. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a triple deluxe room. The room was clean and it had a hairdryer in the bathroom. Also we had a complimentary bottle of wine in our room, it was lovely. The room was very big. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would love to come back.
- James (10/5): - We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and were very pleased. It’s an excellent location near the Prague Castle and Petrin Hill. Walkable to the Charles Bridge and Astrological Clock as well. Nearest tram stop is about a 7-10 minute walk from the hotel. Very easy to get around Prague with public transportation. Room was clean and comfortable. We were on the top floor and had excellent views of the surrounding area. Breakfast was very good with many choices. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Prague. Only thing to be aware of is that the hotel is quiet a hike up the hill from the tram stop. You can grab a cab if necessary, otherwise be prepared to climb quite a bit here and around other parts of the city.

- 852katyk (10/5): Golden Star was the perfect place to stay in Prague. Clean hotel, staff helpful and perfect position. - Recently stayed 4 nights at the Golden Star and it was the perfect choice for a visit with my 18 year old son. We could walk into city and access to e scooters too which we used a lot ( be careful which roads you go on though and read the signs). Room was clean, spacious with comfortable bed and lovely view. The staff were helpful and the breakfast good with enough choice. If you have mobility problems this may not be the ideal choice as it’s at the top of a hill but that was fine for us and added to the amazing views of a stunning city. Lots of trams in Prague so good and cheap form of transport. Beer good and cheap. Range of prices in restaurants but compared to a lot of cities this was a very affordable place to go. Golden Star was great value for money. Definitely visit again and highly recommend.

- jodarock (10/5): Wonderful bohemian hotel in a great location! - We recently stayed at the hotel for a family birthday trip, and booked Golden Star on the strength of the other Tripadvisor reviews. It did not disappoint! Friendly & efficient front of house staff & at reception, the hotel is very clean and in a wonderful location. We really appreciated the peace and quiet of the area in the evening after long days walking around the magnificent city of Prague. We had 2 rooms and both were very nice, peaceful and quiet with a full range of in room services - air conditioning, safe, bathroom toiletries, robes, nespresso coffee machine & minibar. Comfortable beds & good powerful hot shower system. Great varied buffet breakfast which we enjoyed & plenty of seating, loved the Helix sculpture in the lift area of the hotel! Close to some good bars & restaurants which we went to in the local area. Hotel is up a hill on the road up to Prague Castle which we didn’t mind personally as the view from the hotel of Prague was a bonus here and to get good views you need to go up! We would stay her again without hesitation.

Luxurious-feeling/smelling hygiene products in bathroom, heated floors. Gorgeous lighting in room. Uber willing to pick up right out front. It is quite the slog up Nerudova, but well worth it! Convenient to multiple places for food/snacks. Well stocked mini bar with ok-ish prices. Will stay again of ever in Prague!

The hotel is spotlessly clean with housekeeping every day. Our room (31) wasn’t huge but perfectly fine for a 4 night stay with good facilities. Staff are very friendly and helpful - we booked a taxi to and from the airport via the hotel. We stayed bed & breakfast which was a good selection of continental, hot options & fresh pastries. There is a restaurant and although we didn’t eat at the hotel the menu looked good. We thought the hotel is in a great location - although at the the top of a fairly steep hill it is only a 2 mins walk to Prague Castle & a 5 min walk downhill to Charles Bridge and loads of bars & restaurants. We stayed on the recommendation of our daughter who had stayed last year and would definitely pass on the recommendation.

- 674lornal (10/5): Perfect hotel and staff. Wonderful! - A wonderful hotel with a great restaurant and cafe. Beautiful decor and room, with a great view overlooking the hill down from the castle which can be seen from the front. The shower room like the rest of the room and hotel was spottlessly clean. Beautifully decorated throughout.The reception staff, breakfast staff and restaurant staff were all so lovely. We ate in the restaurant twice out of the three nights there and the food was excellent, cooked fresh to order. The breakfast also, with a good range to cater for different tastes, hot and cold. Gluten free options also. We booked a taxi transfer to and from the airport, through the hotel and the taxi drivers they use were very polite, helpful and professional. We could not fault this hotel, it was perfect and we highly recommend it.
- AdamWRCT (10/5): Excellent Hotel with Lovely Restaurant in Great Location - My wife and I just had a fantastic short break in Prague and were so pleased we stayed at this wonderful Hotel. The location, despite being at the top of a steep hill was ideal and within easy walking distance of all of Prague`s great places of interest. The breakfast was excellent but the best part of all was the beautiful restaurant where the customer service from Roman and Jacob in particular was simply outstanding with wonderful food and wine and a charming authentic atmosphere. Would highly recommend this Hotel and we would go back for sure
- 748emmiev (10/5): Amazing. I wish I could give 5+ stars. - This hotel is amazing. I was in room 24 which had one of the most incredible views I have ever had from a hotel room. It made my trip to Prague so special and I will be visiting again. The breakfast is great, continental with a cooked option. The rooms are spotless. This hotel is in a fabulous location, a little out of the city noise, but a beautiful walk to it. I can’t wait to visit again.
- DaveSalop (8/5): Great Hotel in Lesser Town. - We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. The room (45) was very clean and luxurious, and the view was fantastic. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We loved the location in Lesser town - there is so much to see and do within walking distance. The old town is also within walking distance. We really wanted to give a 5 star review but had issues on the 3rd night with noisy/vibrating heating pipes that kept waking us every hour - the first two nights were fine with no noise, so this was really frustrating. To their credit, reception did try and help but couldn’t do anything at the time. I hope the hotel can resolve this problem, to prevent customers experiencing the same in future. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the hotel.

- A3432VArachelg (10/5): A room with a stunning view - We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at the Hotel Golden Star. We stayed in room 45 located on the top floor with an absolutely stunning view of the city below. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with access to free tea and coffee making facilities which were replenished daily. The breakfast was plentiful with a choice of both hot and cold food to suit all tastes. The hotel although positioned at the top of a steep hill, was well situated and within close walking distance to Prague Castle. Other local attractions including Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock were a casual stroll down the hill with plenty to see and do on the way. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would be happy to recommend a stay at this hotel, if you were to visit the city. Thank you for making our trip a memorable one.
- coxsie2017 (10/5): What a gem - Cannot fault this hotel - what a gem. We stayed in room 23 which had a lovely view down the hill overlooking the city. The room was large, very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The room was also very quiet. For us the hotel was in an excellent position far enough from the hubbub but close enough to get to everywhere easily. Breakfast was excellent with a large range of choice, both hot and cold, to suit all tastes. Cannot fault the staff who were all very polite and helpful with a special shout out to Jana on reception, who tried to help us with the Czech language - which is not easy!

The staff were absolutely fantastic, so welcoming & excited to share their local cuisine - Roman the front of house, waiter couldn’t do enough for us, sadly we didn’t get the lovely waitress’s name but she was excellent, friendly and just absolutely lovely. The food was delicious, wine perfect and such a lovely friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this little gem ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- carolinec562 (10/5): Wonderful view - This was a lovely boutique hotel and we had a room with en suite which had a view of the city. Modern, clean rooms and very friendly staff. The breakfast was included and had everything we required, fruit, hot food, pastries, coffees, teas and juices plus some Prosecco. We stayed there on a British Airways City Break and it was very well priced. Its not a five star but definitely a four star and really convenient for Prague Castle as right next door.

The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of everything, with the majestic castle just a 5-minute walk away. It was absolutely stunning—something you’d only dream of. Waking up to such a beautiful scene every morning was magical. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring my stay was comfortable from start to finish. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in town. - darmasmom (8/5): Lovely hotel at the top of a hill - Beautiful building and rooms, some with amazing views. Staff was kind and attentive. Breakfast was plentiful. Appreciated the lift, the climate control in the rooms and the ambiance. They did a nice job of maintaining the essence of the building while modernizing it. Great spot for visiting the castle, Strahov monastery and Petrin Hill. Getting to Charles bridge and Old Town requires at least a 10 min walk down a hill (and then back up when it’s time to return to the hotel). Unfortunately, we had to do it multiple times on wet cobblestones. If the weather had been nicer, it would have just been an uphill walk. In the rain, it was a bit treacherous for 70 fit year olds. Obviously, the hotel can’t control the weather but it’s just something to be aware of. We enjoyed our stay here

- Ed (10/5): - I searched for ages for a decent hotel at a fair price with good reviews. As so many others had questionable reviews, i thought the Golden Star might be too good to be true, but in fact it was perfect, a standard room with a great view over the square and the city beyond, large bright period windows, and lovely touches like real keys (!) as well as a good sized fridge, a safe, and all mod cons. And surrounded by the beautiful buildings and parks of the castle’s historical centre. The tram stop is 5 mins down the hill from which you can get anywhere, and there are lots of eating options and small convenience stores all around. At night it was quiet even with the windows open. The breakfasts were sumptuous with lots of choice. I loved it and would definitely recommend it for a few days break.

Free breakfast was quite good as well. Restaurant downstairs has nice patio and good food and drink as well if you don’t always feel like wandering. I would suggest the room could use a dresser. They provide a wardrobe by it would be nice to have a couple of drawers available to put some clothes away. But that’s obviously a minor thing. I would definitely return. Great stay.

- Khatera (8/5): - Nice clean and very safe hotel on peaceful side of town, if you want to be away from the crowds, 4 minutes walk from Castel and some other sites, the restaurant at hotel has good food but that is the only option close by in case you have dietary restrictions. 15 min walk to catch a tram to go to other parts of town and taxis are expensive from this location. room views are not as shown on expedia, basically the room i booked had window without any view its a bit of up hill and down hill walk in case you have mobilty issues. its not the most accessible location, the ride to airport is 800korna

The room was spotless and has eco-friendly amenities. Food at the restaurant was good; I thought breakfast was pretty good too. Worked for me at any rate. Location is good. It is a climb uphill to get back from the old quarter but I didn’t find it to be that bad. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

Upon check in, I was greeted warmly by Jirka, who immediately made me feel like a special guest. The room had a beautiful view of Nerudova street, a sneak of the castle and Prague’s beauty was right before you. I enjoyed how quiet the area was especially in the evenings and mornings. I made it a daily routine to walk at sunrise to the Charles Bridge and Old Town before having breakfast back at the hotel. Prague was so quiet and much more relaxing without the crowds. At times, I felt as if I had the Bridge and city all to myself. The daily breakfast buffet was also wonderful with many food and beverage choices. I loved the smoked salmon, hot food including sausage and eggs, vegetable items, and deli meats and cheeses. The pastries were delightful as well. Overall, a 5+ star choice for a hotel. Everyone at the hotel and desk was friendly, courteous and helpful. The room was cozy, immaculate and with a perfect view of the city. The location couldn’t be beat. I will miss Prague so much with its unparalleled beauty, kind and relaxed people and amazing architecture, history, culture and food.
