Guest Reviews
- Kirsten (10/5): - Our stay was brief but lovely. The hotel is well decorated and very charming. Our room was quite small but that was expected. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom was updated and nice and the hotel is on a narrow side street but conveniently located to many of the shops and restaurants. I will definitely stay again!
- Cameron (10/5): - The hotel was very clean, staff really helpful, great food served at breakfast was outstanding. It was easy to walk to all attractions.
- simon (10/5): - Lovely hotel in an upmarket residential area, close to Saint Germain restaurants, museums and shops.
Wiil definitely use again.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Clean and roomy room! Outstanding service people and very friendly! We have come back to this boutique Paris hotel on our honeymoon and returned for our anniversary.
- Natalia (10/5): - private, quaint, lovely
- Kimberly (8/5): - Great Location! Rooms were decorated so French, Loved it!! Breakfast was amazing and staff there is very friendly! Definitely will be back!!!
- Fiona (10/5): - Excellent stay, but from the booking information we did expect there to be a hotel bar. Really good location for exploring the city.
- DIPANKAR (10/5): - It’s a very well maintained hotel and room ( suite ) are appointed with meticulous details . Bathroom is big and had a fantastic shower !The room size was bigger than most hotel rooms . The staff is very courteous . We loved our stay at this hotel .
- Linna (8/5): - The hotel is charming but feels a little tight. We particularly appreciated the cleanliness, comfortable bed and good sound proofing. Overall nice stay.
- Dixie (10/5): - Great quiet spot in the heart of everything. Safe quiet street a quick walk to the river. Surrounded by clean beautiful idyllic Parisian streets, bistros, pastry shops, cheese stores, etc. Small rooms with the highest quality Frette linens. 10/10 will be coming back.
- Brigitte (4/5): - I rented this particular hôtel and the type of room based on the room pictures , as I wanted to have a patio with lounge chairs as shown on those pictures . When I arrived at the hotel, I was given a pretty downgraded exterior area, zero lounge chair. . The hotel staff didn’t not want to do anything about it and started to argue non sense arguments . Not even an apology! I would never have spent 500$/night if i had seen the picture of what I got … very disappointing to be tricked with such false representation .
- dario (10/5): - Great authentic neighborhood hotel
- Connie (10/5): - This is a historic property with greatest attention to detail and highest standards of service. The staff treats you as honored guests.
- Kevin (8/5): - Lovely boutique hotel in quiet street but very close to multiple cafes and restaurants and all the attractions of central Paris. Very helpful, friendly staff. Room a little smaller than we expected but beautifully decorated in elegant parisian style. Waterfall shower a bit temperamental but otherwise a lovely stay.
- Helen (10/5): - Great location!!
- Greg (10/5): - Great location in the 7th arrondissement. Perfect boutique hotel with lovely Parisien elegance.
- Katharine (10/5): - Lovely jewel of a hotel located in the heart of Paris. Decor is “French Empire” rooms with modern marble bathrooms. Hearty full breakfast served by friendly staff. Lots of restaurants in area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Staying in Saint Germain - Great neighbor hood. Just off Blvd. Saint Germain. Super restaurants nearby, especially the one right next door.
- Susan (10/5): - Love this hotel! Charming and great location. Staff is lovely!
- Ecaterina (8/5): - We did like our stay overall and some staff has been fantastic. We had an issue with kettle not working in the room - a staff member went above and beyond to fix it. On a less positive note - the room we had - had a strong smell of paint. They painted the window frames 2 days ago. I’m not sure why would you do that in the middle of high season? I don’t know anyone who would be happy with that. They gave us the other room the next day-the move was organised quite well. What I’m not happy about is the comment I had from one of the male staff member, when I spoke to them about the paint smell. He said that I was probably just sensitive to the smell of it. That was incredibly rude. Was there any need for comment like that? Not professional. You don’t expect such inconvenience as bad smell in such a classy and pricey hotel. And on the day when we have been leaving I could see the other windows frames of other rooms have been painted. My comment clearly did not mean a thing. We had to sleep with open windows on the first night on the ground floor. (Inner yard but nevertheless very low level/we did not feel safe %100 that night. Apart from that-clean, friendly, good location.
- Harriett (10/5): - Great hotel! Service is excellent and staff are always so pleasant!
Location is wonderful also!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a delight.
- Andrea (10/5): - I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent. The hotel itself is lovely. They provide an excellent breakfast. I will return to this hotel again.
- Rafael Angel (10/5): - Lovely boutique hotel. Dinning options nearby, the area is a bit more quiet and less traffic at night but still feels safe. Many embassies in the area. Metro station is really close. The breakfast in the hotel is worth it. Although there are many places to have food in Paris, the experience of having at least one breakfast in the cellar is worth it. The breakfast itself is good. Staff were very professional, polite, friendly and accommodating.
- Rachel (10/5): - Duc de Saint Simon was wonderful, I'm so happy we stayed here. It's in a very convenient location to walk to several places to eat and pretty close to Muse D'Orsay. The staff was helpful and kind, and everyone spoke English. I thought it was a good value for what we paid and this hotel was absolutely gorgeous.
- Joyce (10/5): Lovely visit to Paris & the Duc de Saint-Simon! - 100% excellent hotel! All staff was friendly, professional & very responsive to our individual needs. Special thanks to Juan for all his recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, directions and helping me to speak French! The hotel was decorated beautifully from the reception area, the room, to the lovely wine cellar rooms where breakfast was served. We had a room with a lovely terrace. Highly recommend for a quiet, excellent location for fine dining spots and within walking distances of major attractions in Paris.
- Jeanne (8/5): - Perfect location
- John (10/5): - The artisanal charm of this hotel--e.g., beautifully hand-painted signs for such mundane facilities as the WC's and ascenseur, great artworks on the walls, individualized decor in every bedroom--is unmatched. I particularly love the stone circular staircase down to the basement bar/breakfast rooms.
- Michael (10/5): - An excellent hotel with first-rate, friendly and helpful staff. The only slight criticisms are that the tea at breakfast was not good, the shower fitting was wonky and there could have been tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Other than that, I couldn’t recommend the hotel more highly.
- Tim (10/5): - Lovely atmosphere with helpful staff and nice size of room
- Deirdre (10/5): - The gentleman at the reception desk could not have been more helpful ! extremely polite and very willing to assist us in obtaining taxis etc
A beautiful hotel!
- Barbara (10/5): - Beautiful and charming boutique hotel close to a metro and easy walking. Wonderful breakfast cave and food. Attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend but if you have difficulty with stairs be sure to let them know as some rooms are up stairs with no elevator.
- Tina (10/5): - Always stay at this hotel in Paris-location offers ideal walking to museums, restaurants & shopping. Staff are quite excellent
- Carol (8/5): - This is a lovely hotel, well located in Paris. It has a couple of odd elements, basically since it was created in a former "hôtel particulier", i.e., a private home of a wealthy family, or at least I presume so. My room (beautifully renovated inside) was on the 2nd floor, up a narrow winding staircase. I presume it was originally part of the servants' quarters, across a small courtyard from the reception area. This was ok for me, but if a potential client were disabled in any way, climbing those stairs would be difficult or impossible. I guess I didn't check the property description carefully enough.
I think that the main part of the building has an elevator to the upper floor rooms, but you'd have to be sure to request that area.
One thing that I noticed in this hotel and the also lovely one I stayed at in Lyon is that there are no grab bars in the bath/shower area. The floor of the bathtub was slippery, and no bath mat was provided for security. So, for seniors, this could present problems.
The breakfast was ok. I took the buffet rather than the Continental option. The service was very nice, both for breakfast and at reception.
This is why I didn't give a five-star overall review.
- Keith (10/5): - Lovely historic hotel in a great area of Paris.
- Ofelia (10/5): - This was one of the most charming hotels we've ever stayed in. Its decor is pleasing and quaint without being cutsy. The receptionists were professional, friendly and helpful.
- Martha (10/5): - I loved the old, traditional Parisian feeling of the hotel: the beautiful draperies, antique furniture, old paintings, etc. There was a distinct smell of urine on the top floor where I stayed in the hallway only; I am guessing this might have been from allowing dogs, but don't know. Also, the upholstery and the drapes absorb that odor and it is very hard to get rid of. Otherwise the property is beautiful and I would return.
- Cameron (10/5): - We stayed at L'Hotel Duc de Saint-Simon for four nights mid-March 2025. The hotel exceeded our expectations in all respects. We had a fourth floor room which was not large, but still had plenty of room for the two of us. The decorating was very French and the furniture was antique all of which made for a charming stay. Staff were very friendly at reception and at breakfast. The breakfast is served in the basement - which at first didn't sound that appealing - however, the cellar had wonderful charm and the breakfast was outstanding! Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Our long term favourite
- Heather (10/5): - We booked a suite which was really lovely. The decor, the bathroom, and the comfort were all above expectations. Our room was really quiet, great soundproofing.
Well located for everything, and we found some great restaurants within walking distance.
The front desk team were helpful and friendly.
- Stephen (10/5): - Nice place nice people
- Dorothea (10/5): - Lovely, quaint truly Parisian hotel in the best and most authentic part of Paris . Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Bathrooms are one of the best , spacious , modern and great shower pressure. Forgot to mention how quiet this place is !!
- Henrietta (8/5): - WiFi was not reliable and difficult to connect to
You didn't seem to be able to control the temperature in the bedroom and it was cold
- Angela (10/5): - This is a gem of a hotel.
Perfection.
- Kevin (8/5): Chic but… - The room was spacious enough. The shower was large enough and had a separate tub. The towels were huge and plush. They had bathrobes. The bed was comfortable with 2 pillows. The only thing that was lacking was 24 hr. complimentary water, or coffee in the lobby
- Parimah (10/5): - Absolutely an old world charm.
Breakfasts are amazing
- Elodie (10/5): - A must stay if you’re looking for a typical French hotel. AMAZING location, walkable to everything, staff is lovely and rooms are clean and comfortable. Highly recommend, very charming!
- caroline (10/5): - Third time here and loved every minute!
- zoran (10/5): - Location, location location
- Anne (10/5): - The staff were very helpful and friendly. The area is busy but not overly commercial. There are several Metro stations close by. I would definitely stay here again.
- Shruti (10/5): - Absolutely loved this quaint, quiet boutique hotel
- Marguerite (10/5): - The cellar for breakfast is worth the stay alone. Hotel is very French, very beautiful. Request a room on the second floor or higher.
- Craig (10/5): - Quaint. Great location
- Jecynta (10/5): - This property was clean, comfortable, quiet, and convenient! I didn’t have any issues with check out or check in. The housekeeping was very attentive. The breakfast buffet was quite good.
- Michael (10/5): - Charming antique-filled old school boutique property.
- Mahbuba (6/5): - Staff were amazing at the property, super friendly. Hotel had a wholesome Parisian touch, however it was very outdated. The upholstery unfortunately had a distinct smell, breakfast selection was very basic. On two occasion the fruit was rancid. Not many vege options except for only scrambled eggs. Again catering staff were lovely. Cosy vibes not too far from main attractions. If cleanliness is a top priority for you I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
- Panagiotis (8/5): - Good hotel
- Harriett (10/5): - Wonderful employees and great breakfasts!
- Shelly (10/5): - A quaint small place to stay, convenient location and a great staff.
- Donna K (10/5): Go French or go Home - Beautiful hotel, quaint and very “French.” Great location. Breakfast was fine, in a cellar location that was bright and beautiful ( but watch your head). Bedding was wonderful and the room ac worked well and the room was quiet. We could see the garden, but were told we could not go into the garden unless we had rented a garden room. Would stay there again
- Terry (10/5): - Great location on a quiet street. We had a first floor room with a window facing the street and no noise problem
- Nicole (10/5): - An amazing place to adventure, eat or simply do nothing and look at the unbelievable views. Enjoy!
- Charles (10/5): - Awesome spot. Very unique rooms. An amazing bathroom suite with multiple shower heads and a full bath.
- Wendy (6/5): - We enjoyed our stay but the front desk staff were not very friendly and had an attitude and were difficult to deal with. The woman that in worked in the afternoon was friendly and helpful however. Otherwise it was a good location and a cozy boutique hotel!
- Lance (10/5): - Excellent hotel in prime location for access to everything and a short taxi ride to many great monuments. You will pay perhaps more than other hotels but the location and beauty of the hotel interior is worth it.
- Madeleine B (10/5): - I was very happy with this lovely hotel, located on a quiet street. The staff was very efficient.
- Muriel (10/5): - Wonderful staff
- Manuel (10/5): - Are Fanta at the breakfast are very friendly and customer oriented
Very cute place in a nice location
- mark (10/5): - Stayed before, will return. Lovely, charming, Parisian
- Michael (10/5): - The ultimate in what a Parisienne hotel should represent!
- Brett (10/5): - We had a tremendous stay at the Hotel Duc St Simon. The staff are welcoming, very friendly and extremely accommodating. One thing to change is put a Nespresso machine in the rooms so one can wake with coffee first thing. Looking forward to our return to the hotel.
- Mary (8/5): - This is perfect small hotel. We had a nice room. We loved the giraffe wallpaper. The rooms are not big but beautifully appointed. Very good shower and hooray -big towels! Lovely helpful staff and good breakfast. Delicious coffee. 2 fab restaurants within 50 yards. Well run. We would definately go back. My husband loved it and he is horribly fussy!
- Mitchell (10/5): - Nicest hotel I have stayed in and I am 65 years old. Old world Charm with modern luxury. You will not be disappointed. Its a once in a lifetime experience. I don’t know why some people weren’t impressed with the breakfast. Iit was elegant and delicious. Coffee served in individual silver urns and china. The hotel is incredibly affordable for what it is. Ok the rooms are small, but that’s Paris. Highly recommended.
- Frank (10/5): - An excellent well located small hotel..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service & location

- Aisi (8/5): - Will stay here again.
- Negar (10/5): - Beautiful, charming, Parisian hotel. The location was perfect to us on a mother-daughter trip - walking distance to everything (including the metro) but tucked away and not in the middle of the madness. Very cute rooms and great breakfast. Would highly recommend.

- Mark (10/5): - Very comfortable accommodations. Staff was friendly.
- DAVE (10/5): Boutique Hotel with Amazing Staff - The staff was amazing and helped us anytime we had questions. They also gave us a 3:30 am wake up call and had a car ready for our early trans Atlantic flight home. This is a beautiful boutique hotel near a metro and walkable distance to Louvre.

- Robin (10/5): - This is a beautiful hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent and is served in the basement which is very cool.
- Danielle (10/5): - This hotel is super cute and unique. Our room was tiny (to be expected) but comfortable albeit a bit warm and noisy given it was on the ground floor and with staff moving around in the morning. We felt very safe at the hotel and in the area, we were able to get to all the major attractions by metro/bus and some even by walking. Would recommend to anyone staying in Paris!
- Jonathan (10/5): - Wonderful spot, lovely hotel with excellent staff. Got highly responsive service throughout my stays at the beginning and end of my vacation. I've been going to this hotel for many years and have never been disappointed!
- Patrick John (10/5): - Amazing location, clean and beautiful. The staff is simply the best!
- Kerry (10/5): - Such a cute property! First time in Paris so I have no comparables but is was quiet but close to so much. I had a great room with a little balcony and it was very clean.

- Natalie (10/5): - Charming decor, super clean, very comfortable and great location to walk to restaurants and museums.
- Zaida (10/5): A small gem - I liked the small hotel in the perfect location for my purpose. Nicely furnished, good breakfast.
- Natalie (10/5): Hidden Gem - Incredible experience! This hotel is a gem! The staff extremely friendly and gave outstanding customer service. One evening when my daughter felt ill they made her a pot of camomile tea! This is a place I will return to over again. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet but walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Metro!
- AILEEN (10/5): - Very French Hôtel! Lovely staff
- Roongko (8/5): - Need a little update on the shower door.
