• Jo (10/5): Our 2nd stay at Andaz 5th Ave. Great Location, Great Hotel. - Hotel is in the best location in NYC. It is opposite the New York Public Library and Bryant Park which is a little haven inside the big city. Close to Grand Central Station and Bryant Park subway - getting around NYC was really easy. Cant recommend this hotel enough. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We had an amazing few days. It was a little pricey - but we knew that as we had stayed there before.

Weird/annoying that bathroom for lobby is locked up on 2nd floor. minus 1 star b/c it said "free drinks and snacks" but it was free drink (water) and snack (1 chocolate bar) But I paid for 5 nights, I should get 5 drinks and 5 snacks Also, I'm allergic to eucalyptus and they didn't have other options for soap, lotion, etc except baby stuff. no door to toilet so only 1 person could use the bathroom/shower/sinks at a time unless you are ok with the other people in the room

Never anyone to help open a door, or offer a hand if you had extra bags. The features of the room are fine, but everything felt very dated/old. It’s a very expensive room (~$900/night) and there are so many better hotels in NYC. SKIP THIS ONE. People return to a place due to service; I won’t book here again.

• Albert (10/5): - The hotel was excellent. Very quiet. My room was directly across from the elevator bank, and I never heard a peep. The room — a king with view — was enormous for NYC standards. Everything very simple but high end. Great bedding. Lots of lighting scenarios from which to choose. The bathroom was quite glamorous, but a little dark if you really needed to look at something. Let’s call it flattering lighting, lol. A 9 out of 10. Including the $10 delivery charge and nominal extra tip, I thought $50 was a tad expensive for a bowl of oatmeal.

• Mordechai (10/5): - Overall, the property is a great choice for a short stay. It's centrally located, and the room is modern, spacious, and offers a beautiful view. A major highlight was the exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows. The building itself is very modern, though the lobby tends to be busy, making it difficult to find a quiet spot at times. That said, the staff truly go above and beyond with their service. A nice bonus was the complimentary sparkling water available on the first floor, along with regular bottled water provided upon request. All in all, a great hotel experience.

• Maxine (4/5): - The Andaz on 5th in NY is not a luxury hotel. It failed to be luxurious. Our room needed a make over; like old, stained, sofa and two ancient looking pillows. The sofa looks so dingy, that we really didn’t want to sit on it. Though the living room area is spacious, there is no rug or any details to warm up the room. Service did not replace tea mugs daily. Service did not replace water bottles daily. Service did not replace wine or snacks daily. Bedroom AC temp did not match living space temp, one was warm one was super cold. No fold down night service with fresh towels. Patio furniture was filthy. Hallway was freezing!!!! You needed a coat to walk to elevator. Cool bar? Children everywhere! Not cool. For $1300 a night, I was disappointed.

The woman running this was rude and extremely difficult to deal with. We had breakfast included as part of our accommodation and never ate there once. The restaurant was almost empty and she would not seat anyone. Incredibly unprofessional and a let down to the experience of the hotel.

It will be our new staple hotel when in the City. Staff and room was excellent. If I had to knock anything I’d say different pillows (but I totally could have asked for different ones from HC but just didn’t. And I miss an entire CE machine BUT you can call the FD and get as many buckets brought to you for no fee so not much to complain about there.
