• antonetteo2025 (6/5): Not happy - Confirmation stated fridge, no fridge in the room. Water from the shower flows out of the shower spending an extra 19 minute to clean. No cutlery, no box of tissue. Pokies room. Good pillows & towels. Too expensive. Reception staff were kind. Won't come here again.
• Verified traveler (8/5): demandez des precisions avant de venir - la chambre etait bien qqs bemols cependant. les coffres dans les chambres ne sont pas operationnels et ils n'ont pas de piles pour les faire fonctionner. Le telephone de la chambre ne fonctionne pas et d'apres receptionniste qqs chambres ont ce probleme. l'insonorisation des chambres est tres mediocre. le thermostat des chauffages n'est pas operationnel j'ai dormi dans une chambre surchauffée... ceci dit c'est facile d'ouvrir la fenetre mais ce n'est pas tres eco responsable. l'accueil etait tres sympa et la chmbre avec grand balcon etait tres appreciable. l'hotel devrait rendre ses coffres operationnels et resoudre ces minis hics pour le reste c'etait tres bien.

• adiric (6/5): Small room and decent location. - Room was very small, difficult to open 2 large suitcases together. Hotel is close to Orly airport. It's a little far from the city Centre but can be reached there in public transport. The street is pretty lively. Hotel doesn't have too many veg options.

• Rory Yale (10/5): - The Butte aux Cailles is one of my favourite areas to stay in Paris. The Auguste Blanqui market on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday is a great shopping experience. My typical day starts with croissants from Merci Jerome with Happy Hour at La Folie en Tete around the corner. The Auberge de la Butte serves great French food and the Soyouz bar cafe has great pizza. Room size typical for Paris but shower had power! Clean and comfortable, Merci Saint Charles

• strawbalewizard (10/5): Top Notch, Small Hotel in the 13th Arrondissemnet - This is an excellent hotel, especially if you want to be in the 13th arrondissement near the Gobelins, Musee des Plantes, the lovely community fresh water swimming pool and Place Italie. The 13th arrondissement is the hip place to stay, very young vibe on the Left Bank. My husband and I stayed in a single room on the fourth floor that had a great mattress. My husband is 71 yrs, with a quirky back, 6ft 5, 275 lbs and always had a great night sleep. Plus he was thrilled with the elevator and the superb breakfast. The staff was lovely and all the conveniences (toiletries, hair dryer, etc) were included. I am returning to France in May to pick up medications (much cheaper that in the US) and to visit the Canal du Midi and the Riviera. We'll be in Paris for a couple days, and Hotel St. Charles is our "to stay" place.
• Mahoney02 (10/5): Worth it - Stayed in hotel in Jan 24, with my 8 female family members. It's is very clean, well decorated and in the lovely area of Butte Aux Calles.. The price was very good. Rooms a bit small but well laid out and probably bigger than most rooms in Paris. It's about 25/30 mins to Eifel tower but Metro is just 5 mins walk. There are lovely little bakeries, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area.

It felt like you were around lots of locals and not tourist, yet the location is convenient to everything. Lastly, cool local bars and restaurants surrounded the hotel.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Guter Ausgangspunkt für Städtetrip - Gute Lage, modernes Hotel, sehr schöne, großzügige Lobby. Zimmer relativ klein, aber neues Mobiliar mit Klimaanlage. Große Dusche, Bad könnte noch ein bisschen sauberer sein.
• ROMAN (10/5): - If you want a generally quiet place to stay, this hotel fits the goal. The only a pizza place across the steet may be a little noisy but it's fine after 11pm. If your windows look to the other side, it's perfect. It's clean, with a perfect service daily. The beds are convenient, no complains. The rooms are very small but manageable. Thete are multiple eating places around with freshly baked bagets, coffee, crossants, and everything looks yummy. Cons: it's not close to the center. 6-7 min walk to the closest Metro station Corvisar. Use the Bolt service if you don’t want to use Metro. Bolt is cheaper than Uber or taxi. Just download their app.

• trustascot (10/5): Nice hotel - This hotel is very homely staffed with nice people. Must paris icons only 12$ by taxi away. Typical French restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are a bit small but are clean with adequate bathrooms. Did enjoy stay and would be happy to return.
• 551sannaa (2/5): 0/10 Worst ever experience ever - If evilness and rudeness was a hotel this is it. Worst experience in my life. First of all we booked three rooms but at arrival the hotel staff says we have four rooms, took at least 20 minutes to solve this and instead of giving us one bigger or connecting rooms as it was described in the booking we get four small rooms. Secondly by unknown reason one of our cards for payment didn’t work so we decided to pay half in cash and half by another card. When I offered during daytime to pay with the card the staff says we can do it later. Upon coming back after the day our rooms are blocked and the new staff says it’s blocked because we didn’t pay (?!I even offered to pay during day time), of course I paid immediately but as this whole situation is unacceptable we wanted to talk to the manger who next day lies to me and tells me that rooms get blocked by itself from time to time. In the room one lamp wasn’t working. Third thing is the breakfast buffet, not much to offer and a very rude person working here and checking how much one and each is eating. Feel extremely uncomfortable, to that point that I didn’t even want to ask for more coffee. He even asked my once why I’m taking too many croissant. Later when I asked manager why he asked me he says because people take food along with them. Of course we all know that, but to openly suspect your guest is the worst or worst. Would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone, and as the cliche at it may sound not even to my worst enemy!

The hotel room was very small as was our bathroom but it was clean and bed super comfortable! Friendly staff. Loads great restaurants and bars nearby. A fair distance from most attractions but well worth it as quite peaceful at night.

• dorag749 (8/5): Pretty Good - This hotel isn't great, but more than adequate. The location was a little more out of the way than we had hoped for, but after a day or two we adjusted quite well and the metro is close by and can get you anywhere you'd like to get to. The best part of our stay, was the front desk staff, Asberjian (sorry if I misspelled your name), and Rashid. This guys were great! Always helpful, always knowledgeable and always delightful. We would stay there again just to see them again! All in all, a very pleasant stay. Great Staff!
• thedistantways (8/5): Cute spot in a great area of Paris! - Lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Our room was on the 1st floor and still offered a great view from the window, so I can only imagine what it looks like from higher! The area is lively and beautiful but still quiet enough at night. The bathroom was very big and nicely renovated, but could have used a deep clean. The mini fridge is a nice addition but it only works when the cabinet door is open, and cleaning staff always close it (despite leaving a note asking not to) so our food ended up warm at times. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty, unfortunately. Overall though, my husband and I had a great stay and felt comfortable, safe and welcome.

• sabinasY2026UZ (4/5): Poor customer service - The service was poor and on the last day we asked the reception to call us a cab, he called a friend who wanted 40euros for a 3 km ride. Un fortunately we had a train to catch so we did not have time to argue. The driver did not speak any english and when we questioned the price he called the reception who started shouting at us over the phone. Very unpleasant. The rooms are really small and the bathroom dods not give you any privacy. On the plus side we found tve room very tidy and the location was good

• Mary (8/5): Decent room to crash in. - The hotel was fine for the price. It's in an odd neighborhood, but I grew to really like the area the more I walked around. It's convenient to the buses. The room (#5) was very small and dark, but the toilet was separate from the shower and sink so that was helpful. It needs a little attention - toilet paper holder was falling off the wall and a light bulb was missing, but it was very clean. The design of the shower/bathtub is poor - lots of water gets on the floor. The staff were fine and the inside courtyard was very pretty.

• Robert (8/5): Godt hotel, mangler koordination mellem personalet - Udmærket hotel med en fin beliggenhed. Bare ærgerligt, at fjernsynet ikke virkede, trods flere henvendelser i receptionen. Det er også irriterende, at rengøringspersonalet ikke respekterer "no disturb", men generer en længe før, man skal forlade hotellet. Ellers er det smagfuldt indrettet med god plads og lækker morgenmads buffet her med kompetent personale.
• FABIENNE (8/5): Bel hôtel - Hôtel agréable avec des espaces communs bien agencés. Très beau buffet au petit déjeuner, même si celui-ci est un peu cher. Chambre confortable. Je regrette néanmoins d'avoir une chambre avec un lavabo bouché, non utilisable. J'ai demandé que celui-ci soit débouché pendant que je prenais mon petit déjeuner, mais personne n'était disponible. Je pensais que le réceptionniste se serait excusé au moment de mon départ mais non ! J'ai dû utiliser la douche pour me laver les mains, les dents, pas très pratique tout de même. La vue du 6ème étage est sympa.

Rooms are a little small, but you are in Paris so you should not spend much time here! ;-) The hotel is clean, had a nice intercontinental breakfast with a ok selection of things to choose from. 5-10 min walk to from the metro. I will use this hotel again if going to Paris for a few days with my wife!
• Romain (10/5): Perfect place. - This place was amazing! We stayed 3 days at this hotel and loved it. We had a cute little balcony with views of the city. Just loved this place. The location was awesome, the metro is close, loads of bars and restaurants around and the front desk man (day time )was by far the nicest we ever had in Paris. He stored our bags in the morning and ordered a taxi for us when we left, checked if we were happy with our room etc. Value for money is the best. We will come back for sure !!!

There were great restaurants within walking distance and a fantastic bakery less than 2 blocks away from the front of the hotel. The hotel was also very conveniently located within walking distance of 3 metro stations.

• Ruby (6/5): Bad design of the guest room. - The location was super for local restaurants, bars, cafe and bakery. The room was v basic. My mum, son and I stayed in a triple room on the ground floor.There s no proper night beds in the room. There were just 2 pic of wooden boards by both sides of the queen bed! There s no storage area. (We had a pc of cabin size luggage each! ) There re few hangers on a half sized cupboard. By the time we put in 3 coats, there was no space to hang up anything else. Toilet and bath were seperated which was fine. However there was no sink to wash your hands after using toilet. You must go back to the bath tub area to wash hands. We stood up for shower in the bath tub but the plastic block area was too short so the water fr the shower kept running out of bath tub.

• Carrie (8/5): - This hotel was nice and clean. The location isn’t close to any tourist attractions but there’s 2 train stations within walking distance. The room was EXTREMELY small even for European standards. We had 3 of us and we were climbing over our luggage and beds. Typical European bathroom with no counter space but there’s a ledge along the back wall we used to hold all our things. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. The breakfast looked ok but my husband only tried it once. It was a bit pricey. The neighborhood had happening night life and you can hear the people in the bars on the streets from the room but it didn’t bother us. LOTS of places to eat or have a drink near hotel. There is NO laundry facility on site like Expedia says. It’s a block up the road which was disappointing but we made it work. There’s also no parking close; it’s about 1/2 a mile away. They did let us drop off our luggage and stored it in a closet for us intil we walked back. The beds were firm but comfortable to me. My only real issue with this hotel was that they enter your room even if you have the do not disturb sign on which I did not appreciate! We left things in our room that I wouldn’t have had I known people were doing to be in there. The safe was beyond small and wouldn’t fit electronics and such so we used the do not disturb since we were only there 3 days but every day they still came in. We’ve traveled 4 countries on this trip and this is the only hotel with this issue.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent choice for the value conscious traveler - Hotel Ct. Charles is an excellent choice for the value conscious traveler. The hotel is located in the safe, vibrant Butte Aux Cailles neighborhood, very close to metro stations (Corvisat and Place d' Italie) and bus stops. Public transportation, cafes, restaurants, and full service/self-service laundromats all within an easy walk (steps away to 10 minutes). The room and private, en suite bath were small, but adequate. It's cleanliness, comfortable bed, small refrigerator, quite and efficient air conditioning, and excellent shower more than compensated for the space constraints. The buffet breakfast was a good value if you desire more than a continental breakfast. Bread, pastry, meats, eggs, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, jams, honey, and fruit were offered daily. The receptionists were friendly and accommodating. They will arrange airport shuttle transport ( 55 euro fee applies) upon request.
• Simon (8/5): Well located, comfortable - Worked well for my one night overnight stay. The room was clean and compact and had everything I required. Room would have been too small for an extended stay (room size was as recorded in the booking information, so this was as expected). Plenty of natural light. Good location - supermarket a few minutes walk away and plenty of bars/restaurants within a few minutes walk also.
• Warren (4/5): Disappointed by Hidden Fees - Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel St. Charles. The neighborhood is lively and there is easy access to the metro. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit noisy on weekend nights as there is a bar across the street Still I would not recommend this hotel because of the excessive fees charged upon checkout. I paid for the room in advance to Expedia and I expected an additional 20 Euro as indicated on my confirmation I was completely shocked when I was charged an additional 101 Euro (14.5 per night) When I complained I was told that the fine print says that they are free to charge extra fees at their discretion. I simply cannot recommend a hotel that practices this deception.

• Frank (8/5): Paris 13th quarter - Great location once you work out the metro. Easy to get everywhere, even walking. Lots of bars locally. Did not find it noisy.
• Luc (8/5): Modern hotel central Paris - Modern hotel, quite central in Paris. Walking distance to the subway. Several restaurants and bars nearby, but the hotel was quiet. Our room was clear and the staff was friendly. The wifi was good and fast. Room was a bit small but very comfortable.

• Dae (8/5): Good location - This was a good hotel at a good location. It's near a few bars so it can get a little noisy at night plus the walls are paper thin. The hotel room was small, but I guess it's the norm for Europe. The staff was great!

• Artemis (8/5): Charming boutique hotel, good location. - Very charming and basic hotel in a nice residential neighborhood. The surrounding bars attract mostly college students. Good selection of restaurants close by. Street markets on Sunday. Only 5 min walk to Place D'Italie metro which is a bit of a hub.
• Caleb (8/5): Great hotel - Really enjoyed this hotel. Best one we've stayed in in Paris. Close to many restaurants and bars, but not noisy. Near metro and within walking distance of many attractions. Great service. Recommend upgrading to the double room.
