• Mark (10/5): - On arrive we found our room to be a bit dark and the doors, although beautiful, had a 2 inch gap either side which concerned me due to the mosquitos that had bitten us in the previous location. I made my concerns known and we were offered a new room which instantly felt better. The staff were amazing about this and it did not seem to be a problem at all. The room was a good size for us two and our teenage son. Cleaned each day, with fresh towels and three bottles of water were left in the room each day, such an great addition. The breakfast was very good each morning. The pool was great as was the beach allocated for the hotel guests. Pool/beach towels are provided each day. Massages available by the pool also. The location in Sanur was perfect, plenty of restaurants, shops, stalls and bikes to hire close by. The people of Bali are absolutely amazing. We would recommend and would stay again.
• Sylvester (10/5): - Goede lokatie gelegen aan het strand goede kamers vriendelijk personeel ben er voor de 2e keer geweest en wederom goed bevallen enige punt van kritiek het ontbijt is karig weinig keus maar verder zeker aan te bevelen
• Natasha (6/5): - Property was beautiful, very quiet. Room was not the renovated side with the big bathtub (was lovely to soak in, but think i broke my toe when tryin to get in) and i did ask for a walk in shower. I did like that there was a side entrance as i don't/can't do stairs.

• Raymond (6/5): Basic accomodation, but in good location - When we arrived, after a 25 hour journey, our booking wasn't there, according to the receptionist. We were then given a room anyway after a while. The aircon was weak, bathroom should've been redecorated many years ago (old toilet seat, shower curtain missing rings and far too long so you step on it whilst showering; very old sink and an electric socket partially attached to the wall).

• Clare Eve (8/5): - We really liked this hotel in many ways - it’s very near the centre and walkable to the night market and lots of great food options. It’s pretty and quiet, with the option of cheap massages by the pool and a lovely bit of beach you can snorkel off. The rooms are plain but clean and ours had fridges, good air con and nice balconies. The cleaners in the rooms were very nice My only complaint is I booked for five people with Expedia, (three adults two children) and I had my booking clearly printed out that said one room was for two people and the other for three and that I had paid in full. However the hotel insisted I had only booked for four people and had to pay for an extra bed. When I queried this, rather than offering to check the Expedia booking they acted as though I was in the wrong , at one point chasing me down at the pool to insist I had agreed to paying extra when I hadn’t. I paid extra in the end but the whole thing ruined my first morning, and I have booked rooms for three or four people many times before and never been forced to pay extra on arrival before, so it puts me off recommending. If you do book a room for three, be warned they might make you pay another £20 a night extra when you get there

• Tracy (10/5): - Perfectly located on Sanur beach, great with the walking path and for jogging. Many people walking and running, myself included. Many options for food on the beach or the road behind. Lovely staff, quiet and very respectful of your space. Respectful of noise, i heard no noise when in my room. No street noise, nothing Perfect 3 star hotel, great price, great location you wouldn’t know the staff were there, but it was evident with the attention to detail. Little pixies x I was welcomed, even though i was a day early at 3am!! Many thanks, sorry i woke you.
• Lena (4/5): Inte värt pengarna - Ett otroligt slitet hotell, som har stannat för ca 20 år sedan. Ganska sur personal, frukosten är ett stort skämt, och maten är i det närmaste oätlig. Dock ett okej poolområde samt närhet till stranden, men absolut inte värt pengarna. Finns så mycket bättre hotell för samma peng. Vi avbröt vår vistelse och flyttade

Vila Shanti is a hidden gem along a beautiful stretch of beach that is complimented by the most amazing, kind and attentive staff who call you by name and treat you like a lifelong friend from the moment you arrive until they send you off with hopes of seeing you again soon.
• Peter (6/5): Old fart Europeans thick they own the place - Reception didn’t have a room for us, offered two single beds or shower over bath. No good, finally got queen bed and walk in shower. The beds are like old phone books to sleep on. Way too hard! Seriously uncomfortable. Not a bad budget hotel, however most Europeans stay there and a number of old farts think they own the hotel because they go each year. Many get out of bed early place towels on the day beds and leave them for hours on end unoccupied and the staff don’t do anything about it. Breakfast lacks compared to other hotels, I looked in the kitchen and it was very dirty. Saw a rat run from there. Would I go back, no! Location is good, in its day it would have been flash, but very dated. Staff very nice and friendly.

• Helmut (6/5): - Zimmer im Erdgeschoss war sehr stickig, aus dem Duschabfluss hat es stark nach Kanal gestunken. Lüften war nur bedingt möglich, es gab nur ein Fenster nach vorne. Einrichtung schon sehr abgewohnt, Türgriffe fallen auseinander. Garten und Frühstücksraum sehr schön und gepflegt. Unsere Freunde hatten ein Zimmer im Oberen Stock und waren sehr zufrieden.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice spot on Sanur Beach - Fantastic position on the beach. Genuine Bali feel to the hotel. They are renovating rooms at the moment. Only complaint the bed was extremely hard, perhaps put some mattress toppers on for comfort. We didn’t have breakfast, although we found a rate later that included it for less money, so was annoying
• Verified traveler (4/5): - On arrival we were given a standard room which when I raised the problem they lied about it saying my room was the "Bali style Superior room). When I showed the images of the room we booked on Wotif he said, "they have the incorrect images" After talking to his superior the following morning we were eventually moved to a smaller but simular version of the room we booked at 2pm the second day. No apology, no compensation, not our fault!

• Annica (8/5): Strandläge på Sanurstranden - Bra läge direkt vid stranden, trevligt med frukost vid havet. Bra altaner o balkonger men rummen lite enkla och något slitna. Vid lågvatten svårt att bada i havet men då finns hotellets fina pool.

Verwacht geen; uitgebreid ontbijt, goede WIFI ontvangst, moderne kamers, regelmatig schoon beddengoed, nieuwste ligbedden op het strand, voldoende ligbedden en geen kluis op je kamer. Wel kun je rekenen op allerlei badkamer benodigdheden, altijd warm water en goede waterdruk, fijn bed, vriendelijk personeel in het restaurant, goede ligging aan de Tamblingan road, met leuke koffie tentjes op loopafstand en idem restaurants en massage salons.

• Konstantin (8/5): Nice hotel for family - Very nice hotel with facilities in Balinese style. Loved the direct beach access (clean beach and water), restaurant at the beach was good for lunch and some dinners and other places for dining (especially some of the top picks from tripadvisor) were in walking distance. Overall a pleasant stay and we will come back once we're on Bali again.

• Micaela (4/5): Theft - dont leave anything in your room - Very disappointing stay here as unfortunately the hotel staff have a thief in their midst. Money and colongne went missing from the room during cleaning and when we advised management they would not present the person responsible. He was very identifiable with a tattoo on his forearm and dispite many phone calls and frustration explainations, suddenly he didnt work there at all. Understand the hotel cant control all theft however should have handled the situation very differently and as a result we left immediately for another hotel. We wont return, which is a shame as its a great location.

• Albert (6/5): A low budget hotel - The hotel is in a nice location on the beach in Sanur, has a very pleasant swimming pool, but a number of things were disappointing. The breakfasts were very basic and the bathroom facilities were of a low standard (e.g. no shampoo, low quality toilet paper, towels were old and grey etc).

• Kathleen (8/5): Great Budget Beachfront Hotel - We were received by friendly staff and given 2 cocktails on the way to our room. One thing that was interesting - they kept my copy of the itinerary I had printed out as their copy, so be sure to bring your confirmation along - they need it! Our room was clean and simple surrounded by beautiful gardens and a lovely little patio outside. The room was cleaned daily and fresh linen given out. A couple of criticisms - linens were old and shoddy (but clean) and bathroom smelled of sewer gas coming from the shower drain when the exhaust fan was on. We kept the fan usage to a minimum and used incense. Breakfast was included - a wonderful start to the day sitting by the beach eating our fresh eggs, toast, tropical fruit, and bali coffee. Pool is great. Can walk along the boardwalk to any restaurant or walk around in Sanur for great food and cheap spas. Close to Hardy's which has groceries plus clothing and souvenirs. Overall a great place to stay on the beach at a budget hotel.
