Guest Reviews
- Trip64905596123 (2/5): Warning scam alert - Well what a scam along with travelup who we booked through. They sent an email less than 24 hours before checkin that they cancelled the booking. The stress this caused in securing a booking for the next destination on our tour of Italy is indescribable. Two weeks later we have not received a refund despite several attempts to Communicate. Do not book this hotel or use travelup you have been warned!!!!
- thomasmK4173FI (4/5): Not enjoyable here, will book elsewhere in the future. - Sign-in check in does not respond to communication in a timely manner. I encountered many guests who could not find their rooms (no front desk with a person to assist). We went 4 days with room not being cleaned and asked about the rooms being cleaned. Response was "of course we clean the rooms". They cleaned them that day (we were there 10 days) and didn't clean them again. For the last 4 days we had no hot water in the washroom for a shower. In communication they said "we are looking into it". I would suggest book elsewhere.
- markhW2455KP (2/5): A poor, uncomfortable experience. Disappointing. - Although the location is central and walking distance from tons of restaurants, shops, and sights, the rooms are in disrepair. The floor had chunks of wood paneling missing. The room was constantly hot as the A/C did not work. Also, because of the damaged floor, the bathroom door won't fully open or shut. Finding a staff member to speak with or a reply from an email is impossible. A very bad experience.
- crystalpO8045YM (2/5): Terrible experience. Book anywhere else but here - Do not book this hotel. We arrived 5 1/2 hours ago and the keys that were left for us did not allow us to access the hallway that led to our room. We called the number we were given, eight, yes eight times and were told 6 times that someone would arrive within 10 minutes to let us in. The other 2 times we were hung up on. A resident of the building eventually gave us access to the hallway after many hours. Please see the photos attached. What you don't see in the photos is the extreme musty smell of the bathroom and the fact that the air conditioner doesn't not work. We also have no blankets for the bed-only a sheet. I look forward to speaking with any on-site staff who may or may not show up tomorrow.
- J3037IElunac (2/5): Worst, I do not recommend. - Based from my experienced, the worst hotel I had been in Italy. I stayed for 3 nights in Florence, every night I checked in a different hotel. It’s frustrating! I booked a classic room and as a Solo traveller the room was big, so I guess it’s nice. But the negative side, there’s too many to mention. The key has its dent that makes the usage of it so hard to go inside and outside the room. I was afraid that maybe, maybe I will be stucked in there. The free WIFI isn’t working at all and the television too. I messaged the number provide by the hotel but unfortunately, there’s no response from them. Moreover, AC is useless , you can’t adjust the temperature, the room has a cooler too but it acts as a heater. The room was a bit dirty. The tissue paper has been used by the previous guests because it’s already half used. I booked that hotel because of the view from the outside , but I regretted it, I wasn’t able to sleep after a long tiring day. Anyway , I hope the incharge should have read and make necessary actions regarding the concerns of theirs guests.
- Celene11m (2/5): Disgraceful nonexistent service, someone took our room key, left us a different room key for a disgusting basement room - Terrible non existent service… it is a collection of rooms not a hotel…nobody there, someone took our key for large family room reserved and paid for by us and left us key for disgusting basement room, when I called nobody was interested to resolve
- Lynn (4/5): - The location was great, right across from Pitti Palace and walkable to all the sites on the other side of the river via Ponte Vecchio. However, we had many problems. First, our keys were not left for us to get into our rooms and there was no on-site staff to help us. This took over an hour and a half for the phone agent to resolve by getting someone to come and help. We noticed another couple had the same problem a day or so later.
Our room was attractive, clean, large, and the bed was fine. However the air conditioner did not work and there was no hot water for our showers. These problems were not resolved during our stay. We never saw anyone in the office, only the cleaner who could not help. Our friends' room was less attractive but did not have these problems.
We did have our own bathrooms, which was not clear on the listing whether they were ensuite. I tried a couple times before we arrived to confirm this, both via hotels.com and directly with their email but never received a response, we just had to cross our fingers we would not have a shared bath.
- GREGORY (4/5): - The room, while clean, had several issues.
Security is a concern. If you can get into the main lobby on the 0 floor (you need a door code which they do not provide until you get to reception via a table top notice), you can interlope into the rooms at check in time. They leave keys out on the 3rd floor table for all incoming guests in plain white envelopes. There is a reception room but it’s always locked even during posted hours. The cleaner told us no one ever is there as the operators are in Rome. We called the hotel number, concerned with ZTL issues and 1) were told the info we received directly from them and parking was not from them and 2) when they didn’t immediately hang up, they did transfer us to “reception“ and then hung up.
The room is not A/C functional so you need to keep the windows open. Next to the Boboli Gardens means mosquitoes are present.
No toilette paper. Really?
No hot or warm water!
We spoke with another guest who stayed in another room and their experience was identical to ours.
Skip this one and book closer to Uffizi!
- Alexandra (2/5): - No hot water, air con didn't seem to work very well and never found any staff at the hotel.
- Mattb1993chchnz (2/5): Awful operator, stay away. - Sharing our experiences for others benefit.
We stayed for two nights and had a terrible experience.
We had been placed in room 307 up a rickety staircase that is not suitable for luggage movement, and discovered the room full of mosquitos.
During the entirety of our stay we had zero hot water, and despite ten instances of trying to contact them on multiple platforms, we were unable to make contact.
They list reception hours, however cleaning staff informed us that they knew about all the issues and never opened reception.
Stay away!
- Benjamin (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE. Absolutely appalling customer service! Zero respect or regard for their customers. No response when needed assistance and rarely anyone on site. Numbers to contact hotel where rarely answered and when they were I was either hung up on or told they call right back and never was. We had two rooms for three nights. One room had no hot water and no AC for entire stay and the other room the shower would not drain properly. No assistance or even an attempt to solve the issues.
- N2927SNlucast (2/5): Terrible & Humiliating - MOLD - Black mold around walls
NO HOT WATER - Shower was cold
POOR AC - hotter inside than outside
Bugs & Smell of sewer
Poor reception reaction time,
Waste of money, this was for room 504,
The pricing for this was not worth it, the image received was not at all reflected in the experience.
- Sofia (2/5): - We don’t recommend. The room was very hot with no air conditioning working. The shower was archaic and no warmer working, only cold water. Communication was not 24/7. The only positivity from this place is the walking distance to Ponte Vecchio.
- Robert (2/5): - 👎= No hot/warm water. No wifi. No staff on site. No staff to resolve issues even after multiple attempts to contact. Missing lightbulb in lamp in our room. Many mosquitos in room. Broken door on tiny (cold) shower.
👍= great location
- erin (8/5): - Great Location! just across from the Palazzo Pitti and a short walk from attractions such as the Duomo. Lovely restaurants just a step from the door. Basic amenities but served us well for a short trip, would recommend for anyone looking for an easy place to stay.
- Ahmed (6/5): - Great location but the bed was uncomfortable, the shower water was cold, and the shower door was broken. The reception was barely ever open even during their daily hours.
- KimM3612 (2/5): Hotel should not be in business! - Il Pitti Soggiorno
1/5 Terrible
Where shall I start? Let’s say this was just a bad choice overall. We received an email an hour before check in demanding for us to email our passorts or check in would NOT be permitted. This, despite the fact that our stay had already been paid for. They would NOT accept a passport in person… only via email. When we arrived there was no way to enter. We had to call for an entry code that led us to a ONE PERSON elevator to reception on the third floor where there was NO ONE. Another call to the hotel resulted in NO ANSWER. there was nowhere to store our bags. We left them and went to grab a drink. Finally received an email with our room number- key was in a drawer. Room had an air conditioner that did not work, no hot water for showers and no lights in the stairwell ( we were at the top of the building). Another email to the hotel with no response to address the water or AC. We were eaten alive by bugs through the night and the noise from the street went on well after 3AM. Don’t expect to get fresh towels or have your room freshened up either. No service here. What a TERRIBLE PLACE to stay. Oh…. Other guests complained about no parking and no response from hotel too. DONT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!

Expedia needs to remove this hotel from their list entirely. What a TERRIBLE PLACE to stay. Oh…. Other guests complained about no parking and no response from hotel too. DONT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!
- charlotte (2/5): - It was quite an unpleasent stay. The condition of the room was disappointing, especiallyfor the price. The room smelt like smoke. The ac was in bad condition. The mugs provided to us were dirty. In addition the wifi did not work. To make it all worse we could not use our data either as network was unreachable. The cherry on top was no hot water. This was an uncomfortable stay. I would not recommend to anyone .
- Alexander (6/5): - The stay here was ok - the room itself was nice and bed very comfortable and everything in the bathroom worked well. However, the WiFi wasn't working and our air con dripped when turned on (fine in may but would be a bigger problem in summer). As the other reviews state, there is noone in reception so we were lucky when we arrived that there was someone leaving that meant the door was opened for us.
- Jaira (4/5): - There was only cold water and the Wifi did not work. The phone service was also terrible. Was clean but is nothing like the pictures as well.
- Michael (4/5): - Despite being told that reception would be open when we arrived, nobody was there.
On checking out, again nobody was manning reception
This hotel is run more like an Airbnb
- Claudia (4/5): - Very quaint but there was no one to help us check in. We had no code to get in from the street. Luckily, a worker and a waiter outside helped us or we would not have gotten in and been able to locate our room. The shower did not drain and we were asked to pay city taxes by leaving 60 euros in the room when they were already paid on my bill.
- Nicole (10/5): - Nice place. Friendly staff. Perfect location
- Eleanor (6/5): - Perfect location, superior room was comfortable and clean. There was no staff available other than by phone between 9 & 5PM. Very impersonal. Did not feel welcome. No face to face contact at all during our two night stay.
- Katherine (10/5): - 👍
- Taylor (2/5): Disgusting, save your money and go somewhere else - This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stepped foot into. Nothing like the photos at all and the room was covered in mold. We walked in and immediately walked out due to health concerns. Had to book another hotel for the night and the hotel refused to give us our money back.
Not to mention that there isn't a reception or anyone on site, and they didn't give us the door code ahead of time so we were stuck outside for almost an hour trying to contact them (without having a cell phone since we're international guests). Luckily Hotels.com was able to answer the chat really quickly and give them a call for us to get access to the building. I would absolutely 0/10 recommend this place. Awful service and cleanliness.
- dalisay m (2/5): Poor customer service. - No accommodation for disabled person tried to contact the receptionist to change the room, but no immediate response. Waited 3 hours since no front desk rep is available on site. Very poor customer service. We had to book another hotel that same day after 6 pm. We wasted half of our trip that day. We are still waiting on our refund and still did not get any email from hotel.com nor the hotel company.
- Rostislav (6/5): - The hotel situated right across the Pitti Palace and is a short walk away from major attractions. We must’ve been unlucky with our room as our bathroom wasn’t super clean and the shower wasn’t in great condition. One of the shower doors was broken and hanged for its dear life on a single roller and the drain of the shower was clogged so much that you were basically having a bird bath for your feet every morning. The place has an elevator but it was constantly out of service every day so those with mobility issues please take that into account.
- rodrigo (6/5): - Totalmente sobre valorado
- Elham (10/5): - It was pretty clean and decent. Would def stay again. Worth it.
- Adam (4/5): - Poor furnishing; TV out of action;bad lighting;no reception in place outside office hours.
- Alex (4/5): - hotel was dingy and dark, gives a eerie feeling.
but location was not bad a row of restaurants
I personally would not stay there again
- Johanne (8/5): - The staff was nice and helpful. The room was a little weird (the window is on the ceiling and partially blacked-out) but the shower was delightful.
- Kristin (6/5): - We enjoyed our stay in room 804.
- Pardeep (10/5): - In good tourist area
- troy (8/5): - The room was rather charming but a little less than clean. The fellow who met us was quite nice. On the downside they didn’t restock the coffee and some things were either broken or not working. Also beware of overcharging at the restaurant beside the rooms.
- David (8/5): Florence - Style, shabby chic, focus on the shabby. Shower in need of replacing and a bit of attention to the general upkeep of the room. It was clean, bed was comfortable and clean towels and bedding.
It is located close to the main attractions and was easy to get to from the railway station.
Was good value for the money.
- Kimberly (8/5): - No one checks you in - self serve coming to the property and finding you key and room. Good communication from the hotel on codes to enter and instructions. Rooms on the 8th floor and sketchy elevator. We chose the stairs and it is not for the weak. Lovely stay overall
- Christina (6/5): Great location - Great location, nice size room…. But shared bathroom and tiny elevator. It’s a basic room in an old building. Has all the basic things you need, except for the bathroom situation.
- Michael (6/5): - We've stayed here a few times as it's very close to places we want to visit.
The problem is the rooms need updating and kept much cleaner than they are at present.
- A150FRmarks (2/5): Failure at Hotel Soggiorno Pitti in Florance - Trip Travel Blog/Reviews
My wife Nancy & I planned a long awaited trip thru Italy then on the Wind Surf Cruise ship line from Rome. We truly loved Florence, but it was alittle over crowded for our liking. We searched hotels by criteria a month earlier & found one we hoped would be good, but was not! The Soggiorno Pitti in Florance. We arrived with a code to enter the old bldg at night. We collected our key from an empty office. We were plesed to have an elevator even if we had go one more floor without it, to our room. The room was dimly lite & the bed was inches from the wall which we scraped everytime we went by it. The worst part, were the dead mosquito remains on the walls & flying around our room as we slept. Nancy had two welts on her face the first morning. Then, their shower trickled out with no pressure, which EVERYONE expects from their hotel/AB&B! And in fact, when we reached our next hotel in Rome, without saying a word, the clerk plugged in a mosquito repelent device because mosquitos were common there! When we met Alessandra, the clerk, the next morning, she showed no positive emotions toward us, the hotel guests which was the rarest of any clerks we’d ever met! She immediatlly explained” I’m not the owner,’’ sad way to start a new guest meeting! We explained the mosquitos & shower shortcomings & she said she’d give us the owners name if we wanted, instaed of hadling it like a hotel rep should. She was unfriendly & mean spirited, the only person like that we encountered on our month travels anywhere! The only positive was its location accross the street from the Pitti Palace, good restaraunts & a short walk to Plazzo Vecchio. We do not recommend this place!!! Hey Soggiorno Pitti, you’d better clean up your act & room problems or you may fail. Very dissatisfied with staff & room amenities. FAIL!!
- Elaine (6/5): - Booked a room not realising it was a shared bathroom. This was my own fault not the hotel. Due to sharing a bathroom it was not clean at times especially the toilet, also shower has mold on tiles and felt dirty. The bedroom was clean and bed/pillows were comfortable. Only downside was that we could not open the window for fresh air. The receptionist was very friendly and location was excellent. I would stay again but would be care to not to select shared bathroom.
- 10jeffreyh (4/5): Overpriced budget hotel - Good: the receptionist was friendly and professional. If the room were like her, it would get 5 stars. Location across the street from Pitti Palace, and easy walk to the bridgeand the Ufizzi.
Bad: elevator is very antique and difficult to get in with a suitcase and a backpack. Elevator stops at floor 7, one set of stairs below room 804 so you must be comfortable climbing the last set of stairs. There is no light switch for the halls when you get out of the room, only when you go down to the 7th floor, so you must walk down the first set of stairs in the dark, unless you have a light on your phone. This is a safety hazard.. Although the room is large, it felt like a jail cell because it was so dim. I asked management to get brighter lightbulbs, but nothing was changed.
Maintenance issues: there was a broken chair; the electric water heater had a broken lid; one of the old steam radiators had a broken knob that fell off when I turned on the heat; the handheld shower nozzle kept falling off and landing loudly on the floor in the shower.
Service issues: On the first two days, we did not get replacements for tea bags or soap . We got that service only on the third and final day.
Comfort: The pillows were large and very firm to the point of being uncomfortable. No screens on the windows, so when we opened the windows to get fresh air, we had mosquitoes biting us during the night. We only triedthat one night, and then slept with the windows closed.
Summary: I would consider this a budget hotel. It certainly was not a four star hotel, not worth $360 per night. Would not return here.
- Don (6/5): - My biggest complaint was the WiFi wouldn't deliver internet. It caused me a huge problem. Almost didn't hey checked into our next lodging.
- Charles (10/5): Great experience - This was a very old but very nice hotel and it is a great location. Lots of places to go have something to or drink nearby and only 5-7 minute walk to the old bridge. Great experience!
- Danette (6/5): - Near the places we want to visit.
- Sarah (4/5): - While the staff were friendly, I would not stay here again. The lights didn’t turn on in the hallway so I had to use my phone’s flashlight to climb to the eighth floor. There’s an elevator, but it looked like a rickety old thing that I didn’t feel safe taking up upstairs. And I couldn’t figure out how to open the door to even check in. I only got in because two guests were coming out. I also did not like sharing a bathroom, but I knew that going in ahead of time so I expected to share, but those days are over. And the room was tiny.
- carinao625 (2/5): STAY AWAY, DO NOT BELIEVE THE PHOTOS - DO NOT BELIEVE THE PHOTOS THIS HOTEL IS 99% DUMP. I was looking forward to our two-night stay in Florence and booked a Deluxe Superior Suite at this hotel, based on the photos and description of the room, which included high ceilings, nice decor, and large windows overlooking the Pitti Palace. We paid close to 550 Euros for two nights. When we arrived, we were placed in a room that would be better characterized as a budget dorm room, with panel grey painted walls, low ceilings, and sad and old looking furniture. The clerks in attendance on the weekend were apologetic but said they could not offer anything else. For our second night, however, we were given a nicer room, and although it did not match what I booked, it was an improvement.
We asked about a refund for our first night, and the weekend clerks were understanding of the issue, but said we had to wait until Monday. On Monday, we were met with outright denial of any mistake or wrongdoing, and possibly the rudest hotel employee I have seen in my life. She would not make eye contact, refuse to acknowledge the issue, and (!) started playing loud music to get us to leave. She told us to do whatever we wanted but that there was nothing to be done.
- Ryan (10/5): - Loved the historical character and location of our stay!
- Gene (10/5): - We absolutely loved this hotel. When we first saw it, we were a little apprehensive, but very quickly fell in love with it. We had our own private courtyard and felt like we had our own private villa. The room was clean and comfortable and QUIET, and the location was great! We slept so soundly and refreshed! Within walking distance to the Ponte Veccio and the Duomo, and right across the street from Boboli gardens. We loved everything about this hotel and definitely recommend it!
- James (10/5): - The receptionist was very helpful in helping us get taxis and rec
- Kathy (10/5): Florence Hotel - It was a nice older hotel with very good air conditioning. Many restaurants nearby.
- Carma (10/5): - Perfect place to stay in Florence. Beautiful rooms, comfy beds, convenient location.
- ironmandreamer (8/5): Nice accommodation but not for everyone… - Old and quirky our room on the top floor, Room 804, isn’t shown in one of over 100 photos on TripAdvisor or the hotel’s website! There’s a reason, it sure wouldn’t photograph well.
But we loved it and the view from the moment we heard the bells ring.
The lift. It was an experience and three times in four days we couldn’t use it because thoughtless people didn’t close the doors properly on other floors (this is an old building, the lift doors are not automatic) but we loved it; like riding an old steam train.
The best two features of the room are the view and the actual room size. The air conditioning worked beautifully, a little noisy but so is most of ours at home!
The shower lacks water pressure but again remember how old the building is.
As mentioned in every review the location is great. Our daughter actually stayed in one of the lower lever cheaper rooms with a shared bathroom when travelling last year and also loved it hence why we stayed here.
How the rooms are categorised and priced is a bit of a mystery but we’d prefer the view and space over more appointments and nicer furniture. I think a bar fridge would be a positive and one thing it needs.
We had no interaction with management, its seemed like an Air B&B. Towels were replaced every day.
Overall a positive review and I’d recommend this hotel provided the traveller is a good fit and isn’t looking for resort style accommodation which this isn’t.
- m (2/5): - No one there for checkin, no key, took 2.5 hours to get to room.
Room was not what was booked. Photos wrong, room smelled of damp/ sewer. Bathroom was seperate down corridor, ac was noisy and leaked water over floor.
- Peggy (8/5): Good on a budget - I wanted a budget room near the city center so I knew there would not be many amenities. The bed was comfortable, the a/c worked, and there was an elevator. The location was right across from the Pitti Palace and there were plenty of good restaurants nearby.
- Maddy (2/5): - The property was difficult to find. When we arrived there were mattresses that blocked the entire hallway and we were not given notice that the property was under renovation. We were greeted by a very unfriendly receptionist who was on the phone during our entire interaction with her. In the evening 3 creepy men knocked on our door and said they needed to change our bed frame. They came into our room and touched our bed sheets. We were also not given advanced notice that this would happen. Our visit ended with another receptionist not being able to print our receipt. Very sketchy. Do not stay here.
- Catina (8/5): Lovely spot in Florence. - The location was perfect for us!! The Altrarno is a lovely neighborhood and close to the center for Firenze. Being right in front of Pitti Palace was a treat. Many restaurants and shops nearby as well. It was very hot the week we stayed so the AC was not enough to beat the heat. A minor inconvenience. The room and shared bathroom were clean and nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a great spot! The AC was so nice to have. The staff was kind and helpful.
- Paul (2/5): - The room is not comfortable. Limited service.
- Gaspar J (10/5): - Shared bathroom and very minimal ( spartan) room. The elevator is from a 1930’s era and will barely accommodate one person and one piece of luggage. The location is fabulous across from the Palazzo Pitti and just down the via from the Punta Vecchio. Street restaurants are plentiful.
- John (8/5): - It was clean and quiet - great for 2 person stay studio. No kitchen or way to get water other than bathroom. Bed was comfortable and slept well. About 20min walk to train, close to shopping and all that you need is near. Bathroom shared with other tenants down the hallway which was a little busy in the evening when getting ready for bed and showering. Overall good place to stay. Very good about holding our luggage for a bit after we checked out which was very convenient.
- Lisa (8/5): - Stayed at this property for two nights whilst exploring Florence, it is located right opposite the Pitti Palace which lots of restaurents along the road for easy access to dinner/breakfast. We found the location perfect is it across the city from the station but walkable in 20 mins, and two minutes from the Ponte Vecchio - lovely location for Piazza Michelangelo and the Boboli gardens and the across the city to see all the sights without being in too busy an area. The room was perfectly suitable for a two night stay with a comfy bed and bathroom facilities, a little balcony and very authentic italian living, it does not have a hotel feel - the entrance is on the main street so easy to find when you know what to look for (Look for the Door Number 8 and press the buzzer for the reception). Use the crazy little lift to access reception on floor 3 and then your room. The area felt safe to walk around in the evening. I do not think it would be as suitable if travelling with children or if you are looking for an upmarket hotel feel, but for adults and couples if you are looking for a cute place for a few nights with a true Florence experience then i would recommend this place,
- Ms. (8/5): - The hotel is very European and has antique charm. The elevator is very tiny and only works with folding doors closed. Only one person at a time with luggage can fit on it. The manager Huliette was awesome and very accommodating.
- Ludmila (2/5): Rude service - It was ok but there’s an Italian lady at the reception that was super rude, didn’t let us use the toilet or call an Italian company at the airport, very rude with us unfortunately.
- Patrick (4/5): Moldy - Upon arrival we noticed a mold smell, turned on the air conditioning and a dehumidifier in the room (not a good sign). We then went for dinner hoping the air conditioning would alleviate the heat and smell. Upon return, no improvement. Reported to reception and corporate WhatsApp, no solution. Entire stay 25+ ° C and mold smell.
- Suganya (10/5): - Perfect location and I enjoyed the stay!
- Alessandrs (10/5): - It was a very nice place
- Laura (8/5): - Great spot for a few days in Florence… excellent location to all the highlights. Don’t miss the Pitti Palace and Gardens they are spectacular. One downside was they missed making up our room two days… one was our fault for not putting the tag on the door but not sure what happened the next day. Wasn’t a huge deal but would have been nice. I would definitely stay again.
- Matt (10/5): - Beautiful hotel. Excellent views, so springing extra for the balcony is worth it! It is definitely an old building, which comes with quirks and smells of an old building, but thats part of the charm.
- Manssi (8/5): - It’s a beautiful ancient building
Big rooms and very clean.
Only concern was shared bathroom
Some guest don’t understand how that concept works and that became annoying sometimes
- Daniela (10/5): - Amazing stay and room was very comfy
- Heidi (10/5): - Room was perfect for my family of four. Staff was very pleasant. Easy to access and had a small lift so we didn't have to carry our luggage up the stairs, which is always a plus!
- tune (8/5): - Great location
- Victor (2/5): - The WORST hotel experience of my entire life. As the president of an NGO that collaborates with hospitals in resource-limited countries to reduce hospital infections, I have been in 3 countries and 15 cities per month for the past 25 years, and I have stayed in 4,500 hotels.
1. In the bathroom, there is no shelf inside the shower area to place soap or shampoo. They provide a sachet of shampoo and a tiny soap of such poor quality that it doesn't foam at all.
2. Outside the shower, there is only one hook to hang all towels and garments.
3. In the sink area, there is no shelf to put any cosmetic items.
4. Although the bathroom is outside the room, they do not provide a robe or slippers for guests to use during late-night visits.
5. In the room, there is one outlet on each side of the bed. A bedside lamp is plugged into that outlet. You cannot charge either a phone or a watch. I requested a power strip or outlet multiplier from the reception, but they informed me that they didn't have one.
6. The chairs in the room are old and wooden, so flimsy and shaky that I didn't even attempt to sit because they would surely break.
7. There is an electric kettle in the room to heat water for tea or coffee, but there is no sealed bottle of mineral water provided.
8. There is no refrigerator in the room.
9. The hotel has an extremely bad smell.
10. The TV is not a smart TV.
Every issue I listed here could be solved with a very small amount of money, but the manager doesn’t care
- Lynn (10/5): - This is a great location that is very convenient to explore Florence. The Pitti Palace is right across the street and less congested and more enjoyable than the Uffizi Gallery. There are restaurants nearby and a laundromat within walking distance. The staff was very helpful.
The bed was comfortable, there was a TV and an electric kettle to make tea and coffee in our room.
The only fault was our bathroom had a large step down from the shower, use caution!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Cool building, lovely staff, extremely convenient, fabulous restaurants very nearby, lots to see and do right out the front door, and a very comfy bed!
- sweta (6/5): - The rooms are big and clean but we got bathroom outside of the room and i did not feel safe at all. I re-read the hotel and it was not mentioned and i did not like that at all. Being a women its always uneasy.
- Paul (6/5): - The place needs a renovation. Rooms are old and the stairwell is poorly lit at night. Location is good to all attractions in Florence and bathroom also decent.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would avoid - Not had good experience here in Florence.
Our room smelled of damp, the heater could not be turned off even though it was 29 degrees outside. The room was dirty. We tried the get the heating turned off twice and the service was unsatisfactory- the only response we got was to turn on the air conditioning.
Location was good but I would try and find somewhere else.
- Bridget (10/5): - Great location. All museums and restaurants were in walking distance. The train station was only 15 minute walk. My room was cleaned everyday and the staff were very helpful.
- James (6/5): - The bathroom is small -the shower drain is slow and plugged somewhat. Cheap bodywash shampoo small amounts . Expensive rate mainly due to location
- Anna (4/5): - It’s a good choice hotel if you like dirty floors, rude manager, leaking radiator/heater and the back doors that are not closing. Stay safe!
- Yecenia (8/5): - Nice place but the internet doesn’t work
- Jorge (10/5): - Lovely stay overlooking the Pitti Palace. The neighborhood is fantastic. The hotel facilities and staff were wonderful.
- Kevin (8/5): - The hotel’s centrality makes this property an immediate choice for me. I loved that we could walk everywhere and that public transportation was also easily accessible. Our room was well equipped with all the basics, and not to mention very clean. Only downside would be the shower; it was VERY small and in need of some remodeling. Apart from that, you can’t beat this place!
- Jennifer (10/5): - It was directly across the street from the Palace. And in behind the hotel has the most charming streets and plazas with outstanding cafes and restaurants.
The staff were so helpful in navigating Florence and suggesting things to do.
- Effie (10/5): - Really like the ambiance of the place, large spacious room and the location is very convenient. Staff clean room daily.
Only two suggestions for improvements:
1. The toilet is located too close to the shower, don’t really have enough space to sit straight, had to sit sideways.
2. Really appreciate staff to clean and change towel daily, but room doesn’t have a note to hang by the door to refuse cleaning. It would be nice to have that option if you don’t need daily cleaning.
Other than that, everything is good. Staff is also very nice and friendly and has an old time charm about it.
- Jerilyn (6/5): - The room was large, clean and comfortable. The property is in a great location. The biggest issue was that it was noisy. There was a dog that barked every day/night. You could hear people coming and going and their conversations in the hallway in the evenings.
- Benedicto (10/5): - Great location, nice small building. Great customer service.
- April (10/5): - Great place in a great location. Thank you for a lovely stay.
- Casey (6/5): - Good location. Old building experience, two person ride elevator, dark halls, etc.
- Theresa (6/5): - I loved the location for this property, many restaurant options and shops and walking distance to most of Florence.
I can't answer to staff and service because other than check in and check out, I didn't see anyone.
cell service is terrible inside the building which wouldn't be a big deal if the wifi worked. I followed the directions displayed in my room to connect to wifi and I only had it working intermittently for a few minutes at a time when I was in my room. When I was checking out I mentioned it and she told me that I should have used another password and it would have worked. how was I supposed to know? I should have asked I guess. It was incredibly frustrating.
anyway, I booked a room with a shared bathroom, it was a first for me, but not a big problem, although I prayed every time I walked down the hallway that it was open and it was. The bathroom was clean every-time I used it, I wish there were hand towels or something to dry when I washed my hands because I never remembered to bring a towel from my room. another note, I stayed here for 5 days and never had my towel replaced, I could have asked someone but never saw anyone. I don't want this to be a negative review. I got a good rate for this room and I loved the location. I would have left as a much happier person if I wasn't dreading the wifi issue everytime I came back to my room. I don't know if I would stay here again, it would depend on my other options and who was traveling with me.
- Marilyn (10/5): - Great location and staff.
Clean hotel.
Walkable.
- Arthur (10/5): - Location and price were great! Nothing fancy but nice, clean and the staff were wonderful
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bof - Sombre , bruyant, pas rassurant, que du thé, pas de café,
- Scott (10/5): Balcony - I paid a little extra to get the balcony. It was well worth it.
- Shireen (10/5): - This was a great location for our trip and we enjoyed walking around the area. We ate dinner at Osteria le Pietre which was great and got breakfast a few doors down at a nice cafe. It's right across from the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens which we did one day.
- MARIA (8/5): - Muy bien ubicado, las instalaciones cómodas el baño tenía una ducha pequeña algo complicado para personas grandes. El personal muy amable en la recepción.
