- Travelguru122 (2/5): The worst hotel I have every stayed at - Had probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel. Firstly my belongings got stolen and the way the hotel tried to manage the situation was to brush it off, secondly the service I received from the substandard room service and restaurant was appalling every time I ordered something there was something missing or forgotten and then the final straw was this morning during my checkout where the gentleman at the desk didn’t know what he was doing and couldn’t return back my deposit so I left having paid almost double for my room in the end still waiting for the deposit that was meant to be returned. I highly suggest you consider another hotel if you are considering this one on your next trip.
- 43g_lera (6/5): Unacceptable Disturbance and Poor Handling by a Five-Star Hotel - We had a reservation between March 26-30. When we checked in relatively late on March 26, we were given room 306 which turned out to be a connecting room with 307. The first night was good. The second and third night (Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28) they apparently rented it out to one-night guests. Saturday at 11pm we went down to the reception and complained about the disturbing noise from the room next door. We were told that room 307 would continue to have one-night guests and they gave us a new room. Packing is not something you want in the middle of the night but when the choice is between listening to people making noise, packing was more appealing and we moved to room 604. Sat in the new room (604) the night between Saturday and Sunday with a tension headache and interrupted sleep. One of us also has difficulty falling asleep normally. One wonders about the hotel's way of handling the incident and renting out rooms in general. How can they rent out a room next to another room that has a longer reservation for that type of activity (because the reception was clear that they knew what was going on at the same time as it is marked that the hotel is popular with solo travelers on the hotels.com app)? They also write this on their website, which in my opinion goes against the way they rent out the rooms: ”Family Experience We offer bespoke family experiences and amenities to ensure both parents and children have the most memorable and enjoyable stay possible. For any specific requirements do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to help customise your stay.” If it is okay according to the hotel policy to have one night bookings, which in my opinion is not acceptable in a five star hotel, then they should have it in a part of the hotel that is not rented out to long stay guests. No compensation or apology from their side either, only changing rooms in the middle of the night was the solution to the problem. We often come and stay at this hotel both individually and as a family and this is not something we want to experience again so in the future we will not book this hotel in our future stays in Istanbul.

- elitemedc (8/5): Extremely clean smells amazing very accommodating and friendly staff - After booking a room with a Jacuzzi that we wasn’t able to use as to a fault we decided to change rooms and even downgrade however the staff atreception were extremely accommodating and upgraded us to a beautiful sweet room. We are very happy with the service. the food is very nice. The staff extremely friendly and accommodating. I would definitely come back here. The rooms are extremely clean. They smell amazing and the toiletries are very nice.

I can highly recommend this hotel , as Gold member I got an automatic room upgrade to sea view . Although room was small it was very clean , quiet and with a view to die for overlooking Bosporus Straits. Breakfast buffet as others said was very nice with something for everyone. I asked for menemem and chefs made it specifically for me . Service was excellent with smiles all around . Front desk also very friendly always welcoming and asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay more comfortable. I would suggest ignoring negative reviews and staying at Doubletree Moda.
- kristinakennedy1705 (2/5): Dismissive and disrespectful - As a solo female traveler, I experienced inappropriate questions from male staff, including intrusive personal questions, and dismissive, laughing behavior from bar staff, including a phallic-shaped coffee being served. I also encountered rude behavior from female front desk staff and poor-quality room service food. When I raised these concerns, the team dismissed my feedback and denied any problems. A better approach would have been to take guest concerns seriously, acknowledge discomfort, and improve internal training. - FattieW (8/5): Nice, modern hotel - My husband and I stayed here for one week for the holidays. The hotel is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. It is centrally located, close to a huge Bazaar, restaurants and stores. The hotel is modern, with 12 floors. We stayed on the 8th floor with a seaside view. Our room was sizable but the bathroom was small; just a bath, no shower. The staff were helpful and professional. Many could communicate in English. The hotel is quite a distance from the Istanbul airport but close to SAW airport. Breakfast was good with a wide spread of options. There are a couple of malls close to the hotel; the Akasya mall and the Emaar Square mall.
- thomaseV7597BU (4/5): Not even close to 5 stars. - This is in no way a 5 star hotel, and is not in keeping with the Hilton Brands pedigree at all, more like a 3.5 star if I'm being generous. The Air Conditioning is terrible and ineffective, with no way to adjust from the room, towels were not provided in the room on arrival, there is filming taking place in the lobby of the hotel which takes priority over guests and worst of all, there is a rooftop bar that plays booming bass music nightclub style that drones on until midnight, reception staff found this issue funny when I raised it with them. I cannot think of another 5 star property that hosts a nightclub within it's grounds? Moreover, the rooftop bar is genuinely pretty nice (when there isn't a squad of 6 handymen conducting woodwork and fabrication 2 metres from your table), why on earth is it playing bass music anyways?? The location of this hotel is perfect, and the views over the Bosphorous are second to none, but this is not enough to ever make me stay here again. Improvement required on a serious level.

Recep was incredibly friendly, and the breakfast was outstanding—fresh warm bread every morning and an unbelievable selection. The location is excellent too. We spent a day exploring the area, walked to Fenerbahçe Stadium, and enjoyed the beautiful waterfront. Plus, prices here are far better than on the European side. The issues, however, overshadowed the good. The front desk staff offered little help, even when it was truly needed. Our room was just okay. The AC only began working on the final day, the refrigerator never worked at all, and several light switches seemed to do nothing. We did have a sea view, but not the view of Hagia Sophia we were hoping for. The rooftop restaurant has a nice view, but the food was mediocre and overpriced. You’re much better off dining in the neighborhood.

Both times I had an amazing experience from ALL staff I encountered, everyone is professional, kind & go out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable & assisting everytime I needed it. Concierge was extremely helpful when ever needed, finding my way around venues, transport, local restaurants & cafes etc. Housekeeping was incredible especially thanks to Lovely Manzura 🙏🏻🫶 she’s a trooper.😊 Room service was delicious ever time. Buffet breakfast food & service was fantastic Thanks to all staff, floor managers & special thanks to kind Recep Chef 🙏🏻. Location is the best, close to ferry boats, Dolmuş, busses, nostalgic Tram right at the door, shopping , cafes, restaurants etc., all walking distance 😍. I would definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking into Double Tree by Hilton Moda, Istanbul 🙌😍.

However, my check-in experience was unfortunately not up to Hilton standards. I waited about 10 minutes for the front desk agent, Murat, who appeared to be occupied on his mobil phone. At 2 PM, my room was still not ready, and I was asked to wait even longer. As a Hilton Honors Gold Team member, I was disappointed by the level of service and lack of attention. I truly value the Hilton brand for its consistency and hospitality, and I hope the management team will take steps to ensure a more welcoming and efficient check-in process for future guests.

Small quibbles: the customary warm cookie was not offered upon check-in or any time afterward and our laundry was not returned the same day as promised, despite our having sent it quite early. Outstanding: breakfast in the Doubles Restaurant. Great variety and high quality of fruits, salad greens and vegetables as well as typical Turkish bakery items and warm dishes, including soup. If you like a good breakfast, the Doubles restaurant is a fine place to have it.

The room was spacious, which I appreciated — but it’s clear that the hotel has seen better days. The interior feels dated and is in need of renovation. You can tell this place used to be top-notch, but it’s aging and could really benefit from a refresh. That said, given the area, I doubt you’ll find anything significantly better nearby. So overall, it’s still a solid choice — just manage your expectations.

- chrisbG6415WQ (10/5): Excellent choice on the Asian side of Istanbul - We stayed on the Asian side for the 5 nights we were in Istanbul because we were flying out of the airport on that side (airport code SAW) to Cappadocia for our next stay. We also watched a lot of YouTube videos that made us think that this was the best side and we concur. It may seem counterintuitive as all the famous tourist destinations are on the European side but don’t fret. The ferry system which crisscrosses the Bosphorus Strait has a stop 5 minutes from the hotel and there is a metro stop even closer that runs directly to SAW airport. Both means of transport have minimal cost and you just tap your credit card to enter (we read that the metro costs about 25 US cents! but chickened out and took a private transfer because we had some large luggage). The ferry takes about 20 minutes to get to the pier closest to the Haggia Sophia and all the other major sites (hop on the tram going to the left as you exit the pier or, follow the train tracks for a 15-20 minute walk (or, go straight ahead, like us the first time, and take 45 minutes). Anyway, the Asian side provides a more authentic experience . The hotel itself was very much like the ones you would encounter in the US with typical Turkish flair (it’s lit up with blue lights at night, can’t miss it which came in handy once or twice). Staff members were great and will take care of anything you need.

Bed sheets were clearly dirty, they have not changed them. Ordered in breakfast in the morning, bread was hard and not fresh, two types of cereals were mixed into one bowl. Ask for liquid sunny side up eggs, they came hard and almost burnt. Shower gel bottle falling from the wall. No amenities in the room and bar empty of everything. Spa was nice but not the cleanest showers. Overall reception welcome cold and impersonal but efficient.

- krisztinaszsz (2/5): Deeply Disappointed – Completely Unacceptable Hilton Experience - We stayed 4 nights at DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Moda and sadly experienced one of the worst stays I’ve ever had at a Hilton property — despite being a Hilton team member for over 6 years. We dined in several outlets during our stay and confirmed multiple times with various staff that our team member discount would be applied at checkout. At no point were we told that alcohol would not be discounted. At checkout, with our airport transfer waiting, we were suddenly informed that alcohol is excluded and were made to pay full price. We had even previously confirmed with another receptionist that our total would be around 4000 TL after discount. This led to a 40-minute argument at 00:30 at night while our driver was waiting. The receptionist and manager showed zero willingness to resolve the issue or follow Hilton’s Make It Right approach. No written policy was shown despite repeated requests. The manager simply said "you should have known." This is unacceptable and offensive. Every other Hilton I’ve stayed at applied the discount correctly. Beyond this, we had daily key card failures (the receptionist told us this was "normal"), stray cats roaming inside the dining areas (one almost fell directly onto my dinner plate which really should be treated as a heath and safety matter), and a generally poor guest experience not worthy of a 5-star Hilton property. This ruined what should have been a relaxing holiday after a difficult family matter. I will be escalating this to Hilton Corporate. Very disappointed. This hotel does not reflect Hilton standards.

- MrBeley (8/5): Good location close to everything... - We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Moda Kadıköy in Istanbul for 17 nights, and unfortunately, we were not impressed with the hotel staff during our visit. Our room did not have a standing shower. Although we received fresh towels daily, we noticed that several of the white towels had stains on them. I brought this issue to the attention of the hotel staff a few times, and thankfully, Mr. Arif from housekeeping provided us with clean towels on several occasions and ensured we had fresh towels throughout our stay. We greatly appreciate his friendly assistance. The doorman, Yusuf, and a few front desk staff members, including Mahmut, were very helpful and responsive to our questions and needs. Unfortunately, other front desk staff and managers were not friendly toward guests and rarely greeted us unless we initiated a conversation. The hotel security staff also did not exhibit a friendly demeanor. On a positive note, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the valet staff at the front door, who would greet us even when we weren’t interacting with them directly. The best aspects of the hotel are its location, breakfast, and the newly remodeled spa "Qualia". The ferry, subway, and bus lines are all easily accessible across the street from the hotel, just a 5-minute walk away. The main business area, restaurants, and entertainment venues are only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, making its location its standout feature. If I visit the Asian side of Istanbul again, I will consider staying here once more to see if there have been any improvements in their guest hospitality.
- MrHandBaggageOnly (10/5): An excellent option for a stay on the Asian side of Istanbul - We stayed here for one night in early May as we worked our way around different areas of Istanbul. I was very keen that we spend at least one night on the Asian side of the city and the DT Moda fitted the bill, given the proximity to a metro station and also the harbour with regular ferris across the Bosphorus. Even though we arrived at the hotel a good two hours before check-in time, we received a great welcome and were told our room was ready. We were also told that due to status we had been given a good upgrade and we were handed our DT cookies. When we reached our room we realised we had been given a suite, effectively two rooms joined by one corridor. Both were an excellent size with great views of the Bosphorus and landmarks on the European side of the city. Housekeeping had left the second room set up as a dinning and lounge area, with the other side being our bedroom. Both rooms had full-sized bathrooms. We couldn’t find any glasses in our room, but front desk sent some to our room almost immediately once we requested them and not long afterwards we also had a tray of fresh macaron delivered. Lovely service. We were disappointed that rooftop pool was not open, despite glorious weather and whilst we understood it wasn’t summer yet in Istanbul, we felt like the hotel is missing a trick by not having upstairs open during the day from mid-April onwards when it is sunny, even if the pool cannot be used until it is warmer. We also found the selection of television channels in the room disappointing for English speaking guests with MTV the best of a bad bunch. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had (although MrsHBO preferred breakfast at The Conrad), mainly due to the baker on-site making fresh pitas that were gorgeous and even more so when straight from the pizza oven. The rest of the selection was very plentiful, but be warned, the breakfast end time means they actually start clearing up five minutes before the end, so don’t come down late, you may be disappointed. I would stay here again just for breakfast, but everything else about the hotel (including the views from most rooms) is great.

- ninajW6067SA (10/5): The Best Experience! - I highly recommend this hotel. It engulfs you in the scent of Jasmine as you walk in. The Bell Hop was very kind and eager to help us learn our way around. When we first came, they were filming a movie at the hotel and our kids thought it was so cool! Our junior suite has the most beautiful panoramic views of the water. The best highlight was the chef at breakfast. His name was Recap (I believe). He baked us fresh bread and memorized my twins' name. They loved his personality. Breakfast was amazing with such a wide variety of fresh foods. The main kitchen manager had a regal vibe and you could tell he took his job seriously. The entire staff at breakfast and at the front were top notch. We dined at the restaurant on Thursday night (the one downstairs), and the mac & cheese was top notch. We went to the Rooftop restaurant and the views were so beautiful and serene. We enjoyed the drinks as well. The indoor pool was nice but cold for us. The sauna and steam room was top notch. Everyone was just professional and friendly. We even asked for the bath tub to be cleaned and they did with no complaints. We will come back! It is a better vibe on this side of Istanbul and it is walking distance away from lots of shops.
- ba475 (4/5): A poor experience:( - We have stayed at the Moda Doubletree a number of times now and sadly it has gotten worse over the years 😢 Both in service and food as well as Hilton honours recognition. It used to be a great hotel and so close to e.g. Moda and ferry ride away from sites like Topkapi Palace. We then went to the Conrad which was far superior in every way. One person did stand out as always was the concierge at the Moda Doubletree - a Cem bay, a big thank you for all your help and candid views. There is the outdoor pool which we love. Don't know if we will go back which is sad but there are plenty of other of other choices. Hopefully it can regain its previous shine.
- andrewq410 (10/5): Great Location in Local Neighbourhood - This hotel is on the Asian side but don't let that put you off. It's in a great neighbourhood with shops and restaurants in the streets next to and behind the hotel and up the hill. There are very few tourists. People on the streets are mostly commuters using the ferries. In the evening, they get off the ferries and walk through the restaurant district for dinner before heading up the hill to their homes. European Istanbul and all the sights are 30 min away on the ferry which drops you at Eminonu right next to the Galata Bridge and T1 tram stop. From here you can get trams across the bridge or up the hill to the mosques and Topkapi Palace. Staff spoke English and were very helpful with advice on airport transfers and how to use the ferries and public transport. My room had a view of the Bosphorus. It cost slightly more but it was worth it to see the mosques and city lit up at night. My room was a slightly odd shape and had a huge TV in the middle but aside from that, was a reasonable size and well appointed. If you want to stay somewhere comfortable away from the crowds and tourist traps, in an authentic part of Istanbul, this is the place.

We stayed two times, once with sea view and once with city view. Even the city view rooms have some sea views. We enjoyed both, i used sauna and gym. Also have a small indoor pool and a small roof pool . The breakfast is open buffet plus change to have a personalised omlet. There is a rooftop restaurant with good menus and a entrance bar cafe with a good mood. Finally we enjoyed and will stay there again . I highly recommend the Double Tree by Hilton .

Worth getting a room with a sea view. Excellent breakfast with a lot of choice. Hotel staff is standing out as very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Recep from breakfast who made us feel welcome every morning.

We had 4 nights in corner suite booked which offered excellent view, was spotless clean and very quiet (8th floor) Unfortunately my partner was taken ill on 3rd day and was admitted to hospital, the night staff were great getting us taxi to nearest urgent clinic. I was allowed late check out the next day as I was unsure how long he was to be admitted, and they just accommodated me each day with Kate check out until I knew if room was needed again or not. Only had food in Bar once and it was ok, didn’t avail of breakfast so can’t comment. Particular note to Halil (?) on reception, and Alda? (sorry if this is spelt wrong) they were day staff on Sat 22nd. Great customer service and compassion. Not the most detailed review of the facilities of this hotel I’m afraid, but well positioned in Moda, right outside the metro stop at Kadikoy - which brings you right in from the airport in about 40mins. Spotless clean, great staff.

- Discover54314647771 (10/5): Clean and friendly - This was our second stay at this hotel and on both occasions we have had exceptional service. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. We did not hear any noise from other rooms or the lift shaft that was adjacent to our room. The breakfast was exceptional and is a must if staying at the Hilton Doubletree. Every item you could possibly think of is in the breakfast buffet. The kitchen and waiting staff are very obliging and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special mention must go to chef Recep who greeted us with a friendly smile and chat every morning he was there. Chef Ayse makes the most beautifully light pancakes which I would highly recommend to anyone. We have no reservations in recommending this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Istanbul. It is ideally situated to get the ferry, Metro, trams all of which are exceedingly cheap to use. All in all, if we return to Istanbul, this is the only place we would stay.

The amenities were impressive, and the rooms were well-maintained. Its proximity to the ferry port, shopping areas, and restaurants was extremely convenient. I look forward to returning to this hotel. My only recommendation would be to install smart TVs in the bedrooms for access to YouTube and Netflix.
- James (8/5): Not quite what it used to be... - Looks like age is getting to this hotel. It is still the only real choice in Kadikoy, but it is slipping in quality. The bathroom smelled like mold and or bad water. The big shower head over the jacuzzi tub looked pretty rusty in color. If you stay there, ask for an upper floor. The lower floors will give a bit of street and parking lot noise. Breakfast is overpriced, but the gym is good. The air system makes a bit of noise and doesn't really go to a low flow... In sum, ok for a quick one and walking distance to wherever you need in Kadikoy and Moda.

The breakfast and cafe was also very convenient. I've been a regular traveler because of my job and i can say solid top 10 hotel in Istanbul especially the service and location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Likely my last stay here - Firstly, I appreciate times are changing in Turkey with regards smoking, but it seems the hotel has always been relaxed about it. This time however I received a fine for "evidence of smoking" and that the room would require “enhanced cleaning”. Which seems to consist purely of the existence of a packet of cigarettes. The next thing that happened this visit was I invited someone over to the hotel. A Turkish person. This person has visited me every time I have been to the hotel and never had any issues. On this visit however after going to the room we received a knock on the door only to be confronted by someone from the hotel late at night demanding ID on the basis that “they didn’t know if she was an escort”. She isn’t an escort of any kind. When checking out I questioned both these situations with whom turned out to be the manager. I was stonewalled on both issues, payment was demanded repeatedly, and apparently the ID check was “because they need to know who is in the hotel” because it’s no different to been asked for Id at check in which isn’t what was said at the time at all. Not impressed.

The hotel had a roof terrace that looked great, although we did not have time to visit. The gym was the best hotel gym I have ever seen - really spacious and well equipped. It even had a reformer bed.
- hhum (6/5): Good hotel at the Asian side of Istanbul - We selected this hotel based on my wife recommendation after a previous visit with her friends. I would have rated this hotel higher if not encountered the issues described below. We were disappointed at Checkin as the front desk lady was not cooperative. We requested a room with shower in the bathroom instead of a bathtub. She insisted they don't have rooms with shower trays at the hotel although my wife stayed there 5 months before. Furthermore, the bathroom had a lot of plumbing issues which took longer time to fix than reasonable during our stay. Otherwise, the buffet breakfast was excellent, and the location is not bad given that you come specifically to enjoy the Asian side, and you are willing to walk about 10 minutes to catch the ferry to travel to the European side.

He and all of the staff at the Moda Doubletree made our stay the most comfortable and pleasant ever. We will be recommending this spot to everyone we know! From check in to food service and housekeeping, everyone has been great!
- Daniel (4/5): - Stayed for 4 nights in a junior suite. Room would not go below 24.5 degrees celsius and we were told there was only one temperature for all the rooms. Single lady travelling with 2 small children and even though we complained every day and received reassurances that it would be resolved nothing happened, we just felt ignored. We complained again when checking out which resulted in the team not helping us to the taxi with our bags. Very poor from such a premium brand

- Jane (8/5): I'll be back - I have stayed at the Doubletree Moda a number of times over the past 5 years. This time, for the first time, I have been disappointed. I know the economy is rubbish however at a Doubletree I expect the service to be consistent. A few things: 1. Dragging a broken suitcase up the driveway and the valet was chatting to someone and did not assist. 2. Lunch in your bar/restaurant. Ordered and waited over 30 minutes for meal while people around us were served, ate and in fact left while we were still waiting. In case you were wondering I went up twice to chase our meal and my friend once. Despite this, I will still stay at Doubletree because it is a wonderful property and everyone has a bad day.

Odada pikselleri sayılan çirkin bir resim, mini bar boş ve gerçekten insanı bunaltacak kadar küçük. Ara sokakta bir otel olsa neyse derim ama markasına güvenerek gidilen bir otel. Daha önce hilton adana, mersin ve bodrumda kaldım. Böyle değildi.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst stay in Istanbul so far - Amongst our more than 10 trips to Istanbul so far, this was our worst experience to date by far. The staff were not friendly. The room was tiny. They did not change our towels during cleaning, and they did not replace the amenities we used (they did not replace the coffee and tea bags that we used, they left the dirty spoons for the next day, etc.)
- BEDIG (6/5): - This is our 3rd time staying here this time the hotel has been rundown the bathrooms are old and moldy in the shower areas mold spots on and around the bathtub, getting in the shower is a big task, broken bed (they needed to change it ) fridge not working TV not working carpets are stained and dirty will NOT stay there again.
- Onur (10/5): - Hotel and the rooms are great. It’s quiet at night. The highlight is the breakfast buffet! It is out of this world, everything is gourmet and delicious. Definitely get the breakfast option during your stay here. Crew is very friendly and helpful. They welcome you with warm cookies when you check in.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - Good location but average hotel and an overall disappointing stay. Restaurant food was average and overpriced for what it was. Key cards slow to work in elevators so missed required floor on occasion as too quick to set off. Experience with staff was mixed. Some very helpful and friendly, others appeared to have an unfriendly attitude, almost as if it was too much trouble to assist a paying guest. Very strange attitude for the service industry. Would not choose to return.

- Richard (4/5): - Room was way too small , there was nowhere to empty our luggage , our clothes stayed on the floor , no table or chair to sit down and eat , tv was not working all the time and the shower door did not stop the water from escaping, we had to put all kinds of towels on the floor to stop the flooding, expect to pay 50 euros for 2 drinks at the bar ! The room you get is not what they show you !

- Ignat (6/5): Breakfast flies party - Good hotel, but a little tired. It turns out that you should ask for a non-smoking room specifically. My room had an unpleasant smell, but they moved me to a non-smoking floor and even upgraded me. The breakfast is delicious… it's even popular with flies as there are a lot of them, big and small :)
- JOHN (4/5): - We stayed in a corner room. The price is higher than the other rooms! But the room has a cooling problem. The air conditioner does not cool those windows. It is impossible to stay in the room during the day in summer. There was an air conditioning system that did not fall below 85F, and we called a technician because we could not stay in the room. You can keep it in winter but do not choose these rooms in summer. The room was old and dirty, the shower was broken, and it was a sloppy hotel.
