• Mallashish (4/5): Very poor customer service from the receptionist - Stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Old Town in 13-18 April 2026 (still here until this Saturday). While the hotel itself is in a convenient location, my experience with the front desk was very disappointing and not what I would expect from a Hilton property. On 15 April, me and my wife approached reception for help regarding an issue with our Istanbulkart, where we had been scammed around 2400 TRY. Instead of offering assistance or guidance, the receptionist (name sounded like Alina) responded by saying that “you get scammed everywhere in the world and it is your choice to trust people or not.” I found this response dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly inappropriate. We raised the matter with the manager, but was told it was simply a “misunderstanding,” with no real acknowledgment of the comment or effort to address the concern. This was equally disappointing. As a guest, I was not asking for compensation at the time — just basic help or direction and was trying to tell her the situation so that they could inform other guests as the same person was still there this morning — which I believe is a reasonable expectation at a hotel of this standard. I hope the hotel management and Hilton take this feedback seriously and improve staff training and customer service, as this experience fell well below expectations. We have also contacted Hilton directly regarding this matter and would appreciate a proper response.

• UncleDom (10/5): Excellent location - Had a pleasant stay at the Doubletree Istanbul Old town whilst in the area. It’s very well situated for all the major sites with the #1 tram stopping right outside so in just 3 stops you are in Sultanahmet where the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia (avoid as it’s in scaffolding) are located also the grand bazaar. Check-in was quick and allocated room on the second floor which faced the street. The noise from outside wasn’t too bad but you do hear the early morning call to prayer from the speakers outside which does not last too long otherwise it was peaceful, and I slept well. The room was a decent size, the furniture a tad dated but well maintained. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe and lots of storage space. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom ticked all the boxes, good counter space on both sides of the sink. Easy to use shower with shower gel & shampoo dispensers on the wall and clean fluffy towels. There was a small fridge with 2 complimentary waters which were replaced every day and an ice machine near the lift too. The wifi was excellent and worked very well. There is also a business center on the first floor should you need to do some work or print off your boarding pass. Breakfast was included in my rate and busy both mornings over the weekend. The breakfast room is big so there are lots of tables. There was a great choice of breads, fruit and cheeses as well as lots of salad items. Being a Muslim country, there was no bacon or ham on the menu but there was alternatives. Fried eggs and omelets were cooked to order also waffles! Do try some Turkish tea with your breakfast. Security was good at the hotel so you needed to use your room key to get to your floor and as in most places in Istanbul there is a metal detector as you enter the hotel lobby for your safety. Staff were friendly and happy to help. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would recommend it as it’s very well positioned for tourists and a few minutes walk from Vezneciler metro station to get you to and from the airport on the M2 / M11 lines.

Walking distance to the Grand Bazaar, the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque and famed Blue Mosques, etc The City Tram Line and station is right outside the front door... making this an ideal location to see Istanbul's old town and markets. The Hotel's atmosphere is a modern classic casual with a very comfortable setting. The room was well appointed with all the modern amenities, and a pleasure over the past week. The staff were all extremely helpful and accommodating. Whatever the request, they successfully followed through. Guest Services, Ms. Karahan, assistance during my visit was a value and instrumental on this trip. The Reception staff were always attentive and provided a number of great suggestions. In all... a place to stay when visiting Istanbul!
• nazmulu2019 (10/5): Great place for visiting Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque - We are staying at the Doubletree Istanbul Old Town for a night on our way to Busapest. The hotel is at a great location, almost opposite the Grand Bazar. We walked through Grand Bazar yesterday afternoon to all the way to Blue Mosque and Ayasofia. It took us less than 25 minutes. The room was big enough with a terrace. Bathroom was OK. The breakfast, though pricy, was excellent. The breakfast manager Gonca Karahan was very welcoming and helpful. I will give 5+ for all staff of the hotel and their services.

This hotel is perfectly situated, right in the heart of all the main attractions and just a 5-minute walk from the Grand Bazaar. The hotel itself was spotless, and the staff were professional, warm, and welcoming. A special mention to Gonca Karahan, the Guest Relations Supervisor, who went above and beyond. She was incredibly responsive to all my emails and questions, providing helpful and professional assistance, which truly enhanced our experience. The breakfast was a standout—delicious, beautifully presented, and offered a great selection of traditional Turkish dishes. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary during our stay in March 2026, and we had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul. You won’t be disappointed! Food and beverage delicious on roof terrace and any request made was met with high standards. Hotel was a calm and peaceful environment all staff professional and so helpful names to mention Mustafa and Yildiray amazing and so friendly and kind, but all staff were exceptional. The location was fantastic and the hotel was clean, modern and well maintained. Housekeeping also did an outstanding job. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel provided us with extra pillows and duvets on request.

• aleksandard682 (2/5): I will never visit any of their hotels again! - Second day after checking in, we went out for like 4-5 hours. When we returned, our room was wide open, doors were literally open. I took a picture of it and went straight down to the lobby to report it. All they told me was "No worries sir, we will take a look at the cameras, please make sure that you take care of your belongings since the hotel is not responsible for any of them." Wait, hold on, they just left my door wide open after cleaning, and they're telling me to take care of my stuff? That's unacceptable! I had jewlery and equipment there, around $30k of value, and thankfully nothing was missing, but if any guest had walked in and stolen something, they would not have paid for it, neither they would take any responsibility as they clearly state on multiple places in their room: "Please keep your belongings safe as the hotel is not responsible for any lost or stolen items" I received an apology letter the next day in the room after breakfast, along with some fruits as an apology gift. They said they had an issue with the door mechanism, after the cleaning ladies left it was supposed to close itself, but due to a malfunction that didn't happen. To top it all off, day before checking out, I was met by the shift manager — arrogant man who seemed more interested in protecting the hotel's ego than addressing a legitimate security breach. He was dismissive, condescending, and flat-out refused to give me straight answers to very reasonable questions. He escalated the tension rather than defusing it, as if I was the problem for expecting basic security in a room I paid a premium for. For what this hotel charges per night, this level of incompetence and disrespect is nothing short of insulting. I left day earlier before my checkout date, but I didn't just leave disappointed — I left furious, and I will make sure everyone considering this hotel knows exactly what they're signing up for.

I had jewlery and equipment there, around $30k of value, and thankfully nothing was missing, but if any guest had walked in and stolen something, they would not have paid for it, neither they would take any responsibility as they clearly state on multiple places in their room: "Please keep your belongings safe as the hotel is not responsible for any lost or stolen items" I received an apology letter the next day in the room after breakfast, along with some fruits as an apology gift. They said they had an issue with the door mechanism, after the cleaning ladies left it was supposed to close itself, but due to a malfunction that didn't happen. To top it all off, day before checking out, I was met by the shift manager — arrogant man who seemed more interested in protecting the hotel's ego than addressing a legitimate security breach. He was dismissive, condescending, and flat-out refused to give me straight answers to very reasonable questions. He escalated the tension rather than defusing it, as if I was the problem for expecting basic security in a room I paid a premium for. For what this hotel charges per night, this level of incompetence and disrespect is nothing short of insulting. I left day earlier before my checkout date, but I didn't just leave disappointed — I left furious, and I will make sure everyone considering this hotel knows exactly what they're signing up for.
