Guest Reviews
Endroit a éviter.
- maxim (4/5): Far below expectations - We didn’t expect too much from a hotel in Napoli, however this experience was below even the low expectations. Nothing worked properly. The AC could be turned on only if you press a button while standing on a bed. After that, the temperature could not be controlled and it became freezing in 15 minutes. Then, one had to turn it off - until it was unbearably hot. A technician was not available. We asked for an extra blanket - it was not available either. Every day we had to ask for extra shampoo, because the amount provided was hardly enough for one person, forget about two. The conditioner was not provided at all. The toilet seat and the shower cabin were broken. The room was dark with a couple of gloomy lights that didn’t provide sufficient illumination. Not a cozy room at all. Very bad experience indeed!
- Ahmed (2/5): - Bagno sporco e rotto,, tv non funziona, aria condizionata non funziona . Camera sporca ,, lenzuolo rotto
- stefan (10/5): - alles top
- Clementina (2/5): - Hotel che cade a pezzi
- Girolamo Michele (2/5): - Pessima
Albergo pessimo in tutto.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - close to the train station, very friendly staff but the hotel is dated and the neighborhood iffy
- hengping (2/5): - Nothing to say since it's so bad.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The reception lady was very rude in general. Staffs were not welcoming. It was advertised on hotel.com website that the check-in time is 12:30pm. I arrived at around 12pm but the lady told me that the check-in is at 2pm! When I told her that the check-in was stated as 12:30pm on the website from which I booked my stay, she replied that I will call them to fix it. She said that without even asking the name of the website since she just wanted to end the conversation.
The location was good and it was close to the train station but the neighborhood was a bit scary particularly at nights.
- Loredana (6/5): - Poca pulizia
- Fabio (2/5): - Hotel sconsigliato vivamente!! Sporco e mal tenuto!
- Louise (2/5): Awful - This hotel was awful. I arrived at 10pm and just needed a bed for the night nothing fancy. The room looked nothing like the pictures. It was old and worn so i may have been clean but it didn't look it. The bathroom smelt so bad i had to keep the door closed the whole time. Check out was 11am and when checking in i asked if i could check out at 11.30am instead. They agreed. At 10.10am the clean was banging in the door saying check out was 10am. So i had to get out. I wasn't looking for much but this didnt even meet my basic need.
Value for money.
- Pasquale (2/5): - Uno scandalo..
- Susan (2/5): - Pictures featured are not accurate. Amenities are not accurate. Do not recommend this property at all.
Appena visionata lasciata immediatamente poiché presentava sporcizia muri lesionati bagno senza acqua e rotto. Letti squallidi con solo lenzuola
- Tyson (8/5): - This is a nice basic hotel. The shower was not great. That’s my only complaint. The staff was super friendly and nice
- Tyson (8/5): - The staff were helpful and friendly. Basic nice hotel but an awful shower experience. The shower curtain I had to wrap around the toilet so it didn’t keep slapping me with chilly water. I know this is a minor complaint but it was not pleasant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ideally located - The hotel is ideally situated, a few minutes walk away from the central train station. But please know that the area near the train station is also not the cleanest. The room is serviceable enough for a short stay but definitely not for a vacation or long stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): No internet and completely careless - Internet does not work at all, super sketch migrant loitering in the neighborhood, somebody else's garbage was left lying in the room floor, wasn't even cleaned and the guy said he'd have it cleaned after several hours. The chair was so wobbly that you can't even sit on it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Staff was friendly and helpful - This hotel shines because of its staff!
All of them were very friendly and helpful. Night shift crew usually didn't speak English, but tried to help using a translation app, and it worked.
We were allowed to use a common area while waiting for a night bus for a long time after check out.
The location is very convenient, but didn't seem to be the safest. You need to pay attention to your surroundings.
There was no cleaning service, which was ok since we stayed only 3 nights. But I saw a few small bugs in my room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Uno schifo totale....
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Everything about the hotel was just wrong. 1:The first room we checked into was like a small room with a double bed. Then we changed to a double room with 2 mattresses joined together to form a double bed; the fridge was not working and we had water dripping from the A/C Unit each time you turned it on. On the whole it was a bad experience
- Valeriy (4/5): еприятно!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was not in good condition and toilet seat was broken and the bathroom had no door. The service was terrible and the receptionist were no help.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very dirty area Not safe at all area the place was very old and Disgusting walls Needs a good cleaning and And paint job The bedspread was dirty and disgusting have bugs in the room
I was very uncomfortable there !!! I give it zero star Refrigerator was not working They said refrigerator was working and it was not working the sink was cracked in the mirror was cracked really disgusting place
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrify and horrible - not so good this time. terrible service. breakfast was horrible. the person at the breakfast do not care, no communication. eat my piece of dry roll with chocolate drink on a dirty table. waited for new fresh rolls and cup of hot drink forever.
will not go back again. used the hotel for more 4 years but service get worse. it is sad. found Wellgeco in the bathroom terrible feeling
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I did not like the fact that they had two mattresses joined together to make a double instead of having one double mattress.
The mattresses were a bit worn out and that caused us some pain on our lower back. Not Nice.
- Jackie (4/5): - The room is old & dirty.
Air con is noisy.
Only stairs. Not convenient with suitcases.
Breakfast is awful. No selection of food and poor quality.
- marie (8/5): One night in Naples - The attendant was excellent helping us with all questions we had on visiting the Amalfi Coast and even helped arrange a private driver for us. The only issue was the location, even though it is very close to the train station the neighborhood is not very good. It did serve our purpose however as we only needed one night in Naples.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Personal scarso, hotel sporco e puzzolente pieno de animale infettive, bruta esperienza! No consigliabile
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, surprising interiors, all foyer staff very accommodating
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Its safe and secure to stay in the hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Scared to death at Hotel Guiren - Rome Italy - We booked and paid for the room. We arrived late due to a flight delay. The owner/manager didn't want to let us in even though we had already paid for the room. We reiterated that we had already paid for the room and it didn't matter what time we arrived. We still had a right to the room even if checkout was 5 hour later. We needed to shower and rest for a little. He became very irritated and started screaming, hands up in the air, spit coming out of his mouth and causing in Italian. He was threating and screaming at us ( we are 2 females). We felt scared to death and said we would call the police because we didn't feel safe there any more. His replay was "I don't give a f...K) call them. I will show you the door. After 20 minutes of him screaming he finally let us in to shower and rest but never felt safe. He was mad because he assumed we were not coming and they had already cleaned the room. We paid for the room and had ever right to come in the room even if it was still a few hours before check out. He took advantage of us becase we were 2 ladies and knew our Italian language was very limited and there really nothing we could do. We were literally scared to death of him and would never again visit this establishment and I hope you don't either. its simply not safe, dirty and no regard for tourists.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Hotel Guiren is located about a 5 minute walk from the train station which made going to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento very easy on the Circumvesuviana line and the Metro into old Naples. The hotel is very clean, bed comfortable and staff helpful. The downside is that there is no restaurant so only breakfast is served. You have to go out in the evening in what is not a very nice area. As a result, I would have a meal out during the day and just pick up a snack on the way back after a day out. Going by train really cut the cost of a tour round Pompeii, paid €5.60 return train fare, at Pompeii station €12 for a 2 hour guided walk and then €15 to the guide to get into the site, after the tour you can wander around as long as you like. Without the guide it’s €15 to get into the site but the guide is well worth it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good service and staff were helpful however poor internet service inside the rooms, needs improvement.
- Steen (8/5): Storartet beliggenhed - Billigt hotel i farvestrålende kvarter.
God Wi-Fi. Value for money.
- franca (10/5): - Absolutely great
Colazione scarsa. Una stella più che sufficiente.
- Joseph (6/5): - Staff at reception desk on arrival was accommodating but information on how to operate the heating system in the room was not given. The fridge in our room was not working throughout our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good experience, staff are lovely and l will be coming back again next year.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Ac couldn’t be shut off, fridge didn’t work and it seemed like people selling things in the streets where given keys to shower and made the lobby there home . Seems like they where all refugees.
- Sandra (8/5): Good place to rest between sightseeing trips. - The room was fine, the staff friendly and helpful, but the Wifi was very weak. The neighbourhood is old, messy and crowded with loud street vendors. The dining choices nearby are a bit limited. But since we were only using the hotel as a base for trips to the Amalfi coast, etc, the close proximity to the train and bus stations balanced that out.
- Leighanne (8/5): Lovely night staff, questionable area - Close to the main station which was great for what we needed, but seemed to be in a pretty shady area. I wouldn't have felt safe walking round as a solo female or with my partner as comments were still made from locals. HOWEVER, the gentleman on reception of the hotel was the most friendly, helpful and lovely man we could have wished for.
The hotel room was clean enough but had a weird, balmy smell in the bathroom. Plug sockets fell off when removing my charger, but the room was clean and comfortable. I wouldn't have asked for more for the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I do not know how the hotel maintains its three stars. It has no lift or elevator. I think that the hotel has seen better days. The shower in my bathroom was open to whole room. This old fashion configuration was popular in Europe many years ago. The breakfast was included and was excellent. The staff was also very friendly.
- david (8/5): guiren hotel - the hotel was basic but good value for the prise
- Masoud (6/5): Naples - Old building, neads renovation
- Mohamed (2/5): Not for a family stay - The original received the AC was not working and very loud. The second room was ok but the area was not really suited for a family stay for night outing.
- philip (8/5): - The hotel was comfortable and the staff very friendly. The area however was beyond idyllic with groups of refugees hanging around , prostitution on the corner near hotel and the amount of rubbish in the city was unbelievable. The hotel was situated alongside the train station which was handy for getting to Pompeii / Rome etc .
- Will (8/5): - A hidden gem near the slightly shady train station. Front desk staff is very helpful and courteous. Rooms are comfortable and clean with great a/c. Location is 5 min from Central Train Station .
- Will (8/5): - great front desk staff. Very courteous and helpful. Housekeeping does a great job with keeping rooms and the property looking great. Best thing, rooms have excellent air conditioners. Hotel is just 5 min from Central station which makes getting around Naples easy.
- David (4/5): Scary and disappointing! - The gentleman at check in was lovely and helpful. After that, the room was very ordinary and smelled of stale smoke. Most worrying was the area that the hotel was in. Our family of four kids, my wife and I have been travelling around Europe for 12 weeks and while I know this was an inexpensive room, the area it was in made us feel threatened, scared and worried. The breakfast was very ordinary. The WIFI didn’t work, neither did the air con in one of our rooms. We could see electricity wires coming out of the PowerPoints.
- Hector (4/5): Extremely outdated, smallest breakfast ever - There is no way this hotel is a 3*, and it's very questionable how they got it. First of all, from all the pictures they advertise in hotels.com, none corresponded to the room we got, which was awful, terrible, tiny and run-down. Cracked walls everywhere, and a horrible taste of decoration. It was pure 1970s never upgraded. After asking to be moved to a room according to what we booked, they were fully booked and nothing they could do so we liaised with hotels.com customer services, very kind and professional as always, so we had the chance to let them know what happened. This hotel should not be listing pictures of rooms looking good and giving something totally different. For the following night they could accommodate us in a much better room, still not mentioned in any pics in the website. But this was ok. Receptionist were all very nice and friendly, willing to help, the waitresses in the breakfast very nice too, but the older giy with glasses behind the bar was rude and unfriendly in another level. Very unpleasant to be in the breakfast room with him around, and speaking loud and very bad to the waitresses. The breakfast was a misery! almost non-existent with the smallest choice we've ever experienced, however and once again, the waitresses were nice and friendly, efficient and kind, but all turned down by this rude man, probably their manager or boss.
- Khedidja (4/5): Not a good environment for women or families - Except 1 person, hotel staff was nice and gentle. But Italian police can come and wake you up at 3 of morning. Troublesome neighborhood
- Bristol (2/5): Do not stay here! - The worst hotel I have stayed in. The reviews you read about the noise is all true. People run up and down the corridors shouting and screaming as well as slamming doors. Reception staff dont care or do anything about it. After 2 nights, we booked a B&B elsewhere just to get a good nights sleep. Do not stay here
- bukkie (8/5): Comfortable to stay and lovely staff. - My night was not nice because the room was a bit small for two person. The staff promised to change the room the next morning to a bigger room and they did. I enjoyed my stay with my friend. We are able to access various shops and eat locally too. The environment was friendly and nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It's a rough neighborhood. Not very clean rooms or bathrooms. Staff was friendly and nice, breakfast was very limited but ok. Bed was uncomfortable, heater wouldn't come on all night then worked in the morning. Wifi password didn't work all night then 20 minutes before check out it worked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Business - It's nice because it's near the station which makes transport easy and it's easy to shop around there
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not too far from the airport. - .................................................................................................
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not for couples, families and groups - Terrible neighbourhood, really bad condition, horrible rooms, had to leave the hotel and find new place to stay. Its for street business people.
- Chad (8/5): - Strange place but I'd recommend it if you're on a budget. It's safe and clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were asked to stay at other hotel even after the booking was done. Although other hotel which was arranged was good.
Location was not that great but very near to Railway station.
- modupe (2/5): Not a good hotel - Poor
- Sri (6/5): Ok for a night stay . close to train station. - Staff were very helpful. location is good but locality is run down. A single night stay in the hotel is ok but can't see myself staying for more than that. Glad I booked only one night.
- Melissa (6/5): Close to Napoli Central Station - 5 minute walk to naples central station. Also close by are an supermarket and eateries. Not in the best of areas but decent for the money. The breakfast was very limited.
- richard (2/5): Not your first choice - would recommend it only if you are not traveling with family and cannot find anything more inexpensive. the room was clean but otherwise everything was substandard and i believe there are other better options in the area
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Staff,V. Nice Breakfast, Near Train Station - Easy to get to from train station. Easy to find. Great desk staff- v. friendly, knowledgeable, etc. - and housekeeping.
Best coffee (and warm croissant!) at breakfast, along w/yogurt, cheese, fruit, rolls. Wifi not good on left side of hotel so have to go to center sitting area. Not especially best part of Naples, but in a short walk you are into other parts of city. Room was fine/good (more of an aesthetics thing); bed was good!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient - Very pleasant staff, the room gave all we needed, adequate breakfast, convenient location.
- Leanne (2/5): - We deliberately picked the Guiren Hotel for it's convenience to Napoli Train Station, when we arrived we were told we were being moved to their other hotel (a 4* hotel...) Although they paid for the taxi fare to the other hotel, we were now nearly a 10 minute taxi ride away from the train station and in an area where there were no restaurants or people that spoke English outside of the hotel. The room was clean and tidy and the breakfast on the roof top terrace was very pleasant, but unfortunately we then had to pay the 10 Euro taxi fare back to the train station the next morning...
- Reginald A. (2/5): Mr - The hotel was horibble. The beds were nasty not comfortable. Was told continental breakfast but was a lier. I couldnt bring a friend to my hotel rm. Hr had to pay extra before. The security or check in man was rude and do not noe how to talk to customers.
- Traveler0101 (6/5): Price was right - This hotel was good for the price. They have a good variety of breakfast in the morning for you. There is WiFi but only works on the first and second floor. The bathroom could have been a lot cleaner (shower). There was small TV and a balcony, which was cool to look out. As far as location goes, it's great if you want to be close to the Napoli Train Station. The train station is just a few blocks and any easy walk but the area is a little rough around the edges. Street shopping is around the hotel along with a good pizzeria a few blocks by.
- Blameless (4/5): Ok. Rougher area. - When we arrived we were told that the room could only accommodate 4. Advertised for 5? Booked for 5? The desk clerk just basically ignored my booking and at the desk request for a cot for my son.
- RN (6/5): Old, clean and safe close to central terminal - Very good location, helpful and informed staff on local points of interest. Location very run down neighbourhood, dirty with lots of garbage and street vendors. Most vendors are migrants and many of the vendors stay at the hotel. We had no problems and were safe just an uncomfortable feeling.
- Sandra (2/5): Family - Old hotel in convenient location close to train station. No elevator. We stayed in several old hotels in this area and appreciate the lack of modernness. This hotel however cannot be appreciated. We found it very dirty and lacking tremendously in repair. For half the price asked maybe. But, I still would not recommend it.
- Keri (10/5): - Facilities: Above average; Value: Affordable; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Spotless;
Location was great.
- Katherine (8/5): Welcoming staff - I came to naples by myself for the first time. I do not speak italian, but the staff was very accommodating. The area is good if you need to get to the train. Getting there was a little difficult but the staff welcomes you with a warm smile. I was still jetlag so it was nice of Alex to suggest places to go. I would suggest for people to go there! Good price, and great service
- travelling (8/5): Great value for money - Great location close to the train station. Very friendly staff who spoke good English. Comfortable rooms.
- Pietrogallo (8/5): Train Station Accessibility and Value - This hotel is close to the train station with courteous staff and great value. The rooms are spartan, but very clean and there's not so much a balcony as large windows that open to let street life spill into the room. The area is a bit saucy, but locals can direct you to great local restaurants and great pastries in the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel Guiren - This hotel is close to the main Train Station. Be aware that the neighborhood is an "African Flea Market", not a picturesque "Rick Steve's European-type" location.
- Anonymous (4/5): Great Hotel, Bad Service - The location of the hotel was not good. In a bad part of town. The hotel amenities were good, but expected for the price. However, the concierge service was VERY disappointing. They would not provide me with a receipt and were extremely rude when I asked basic, friendly questions. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
- Anonymous (10/5): Good Location, Nice Hotel - Hotel was obviously recently updated. Good A/C, nice room that was clean. Helpful staff that spoke pretty good English. Only one block from main Train Station which was handy.
