- Yaumaris (10/5): Where Luxury Meets Exceptional Service - Our stay at The Chatwal, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt was absolutely outstanding this is truly where luxury meets comfort and service. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The level of attention to detail was incredible even having a butler who ironed our dresses made us feel genuinely cared for. Here, you truly get what you pay for. Our suite was spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful retreat after long days in the city. Customer service across the entire hotel was exceptional. A special mention goes to Michael the bellman, who consistently went above and beyond. He always greeted us with a friendly smile, opened doors, assisted us promptly, and made sure we were taken care of at all times. The restaurant was amazing every dish was outstanding and truly felt out of this world. The overall environment of the hotel was not only immaculately clean, but also beautifully decorated, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. After all the walking around the city, the indoor heated pool and hot tub were exactly what we needed a perfect way to unwind and recharge. I highly recommend The Chatwal to anyone visiting New York City who wants to experience luxury, comfort, and exceptional service. If you want to be treated like royalty, this is the place to stay.

Bar and restaurant were highlights. Great shower and toiletries. Great communication via text for hotel services. Feels a bit outdated - television doesn’t have streaming services. Elevator buttons glitchy. Our room had not been cleaned or restocked thoroughly before arrival. Tech in general seems a couple generations old. For the price, these things need to be updated and on point.

Everyone from doormen to front desk are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the middle of everything being in Times Square, but you wouldn’t know it from inside the hotel where it’s safe, quiet and calm.

Boutique hotel - not too big - not too small - over the top luxury!!
- Mark (10/5): - Well placed hotel just off Times Square in a small historic building. Staff are friendly, room was reasonably sized and well equipped. Room was not ready until 7 p.m but the hotel made up for this with free drinks and breakfast - the excellent salmon bagel is basically a massive fresh salmon on top of a huge bagel. The pool is cold and the size of a large bath tub. I’d stay again - a nice hotel overall.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was supposed to have a view or tub and didn’t get either. Booked in advance snd requested this. Kept being locked out of room with keys not working. Someone went into the room, even though we had the privacy button on and lights were turned on.
- Valerie (2/5): - Absolutely disappointing. We booked a double room and were given one king bed for our family of five. The front desk simply told us to deal with it and that although it was their mistake they had no other rooms available and therefore could do nothing for us. My husband (who is recovering from back surgery) and I slept on the floor. I am so sad as we were making this trip to the Chatwal an annual family tradition and after the awful way we were treated we will never stay there again. Beware - I witnessed the front desk berating multiple guests. The hotel is not worth the price. There are plenty of other options nearby with better accommodations and professional, kinder staff.

- Michelle (4/5): Small, misleading price don’t be fooled about kids included on price - Local to time square and looked nice in pictures. Hotel is very small and feels very cramped. We booked bed and breakfast then on check out told our kids were not free.. we had to pay a large amount and staff didn’t really care (even the lady manager) this is extremely misleading when I’ve paid for my family a bed and breakfast room. Male staff for breakfast seemed very moody. I would not return after paying over 4k.

- Akram (1/5): will never come back. - the room was nice size. the concierge and bell boys are amazing. the most rude staff i ever met i felt like i owe them money or something. no room service after 12 am thats not normal for 5 star hotels. the elevator sucks and problematic i could hear people walking and talking outside my room all the time. i had to call few times from my room to hotel for them to pick up. bed is so overused and not comfortable. nothing in this hotel is worth the money i paid.... even if it was 20% of the price its still not worth it

- Sergey (8/5): - Wonderful hotel. Easy access to shops, attractions. Excellent rooms, showers, all impressive. Excellent service, great food in the restaurant. However, we could not use the patio due to the great many nearby Times Square restaurant exhausts. The smell of cooking oil was unbearable. And it also seeped through in the room. Regrettably, won't choose Chatwal again.

- Nicole (6/5): Meh - Disappointing. I would not consider this hotel on par with NYC 5 star hotels. While there, the A/C in the entire hotel was not working well. Of course hotel staff never mentioned this until we complained, after which they offered us a fan. It was 98 degrees in NYC and the room felt wet it was so hot and humid. Additionally, the images online are misleading — rooms look much larger, pool looks larger, etc. The rooms were small, this is NYC I get it but images are deceiving. We did a 2 bed room and the beds are doubles, not queen sized. Further, I purchased some yogurt and fresh pressed green juice for my family, put in the mini fridge and the next day they were warm, I guess the fridge just stopped cooling. There goes $50. Ugh. Finally, the hotel location is convenient to time square, but the street cannot be turned on from 7th Ave. so any Ubers, taxis, etc had to make a massive loop to pick us up and it caused the Ubers to continue to cancel on us. I would not stay here again, for the price there much better options in NYC.

Overall a wonderful experience from start to finish. Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff, quiet rooms even though half a block from Times Square- everything was wonderful. Would highly recommend.

We went to the 100th sold out show of the Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden and dinner, no more than 15 min in a taxi! And, 2 Broadway shows, also walkable! The bellman was always kind and hailed us a taxi and the rooms were gorgeous with a heated toilet seat as the bonus! We will be back!
