Guest Reviews
- Stefan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stefanie (8/5): Very good - Very good location to discover Prague.
- Grzegorz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rohit (8/5): Very good - Perfect location, very close to castle.
Tram is available few meters aways Heater does not work.
Wifi service is very bad
- Ricardo (9/5): Superb - Super location, cozy apartment and great host. You feel like you are at home and inside the castle of Prague. Nina was an amazing host and she supported us 2 times when we asked for help, which made our stay even more special. There are no big supermarkets nearby, so we had to get grosseries at smaller and therefore more expensive markerts. But this was a minor disavantage comparing to all the benefits of the location.
- Malky132 (8/5): Very good -
- Deniss (7/5): A pleasant experience, but bit overpriced for the premises' quality. Will def. come back! - The communication with the owners was nice and easy.
The location couldn't have been better. Roughly 30 minute taxi ride from the PRG airport, and the apartments are located in a very atmospheric historic district. If you like walking, you can reach the Prague center on foot. Just in case, there also is a tram stop nearby. The inner courtyard is amazing and has some Mediterranean vibe to it: our gang of 7 metalheads enjoyed chilling with a beer there very much! P.S. we did our best to not disturb other visitors/neighbors. :)
We booked this apartment (in fact, they gave us two apartments instead of one because the one we booked had waterpipe problems) before going to Brutal Assault and after (this review applies to both 6th-9th of August and 14th-16th of August), so the owner said we can keep the keys and leave some of our stuff in the apartments while we're away, because we will stay in the same apartments when we will come back from the festival. That was a very class move from their side, very appreciated! Huge flight luggage is definitely not something you want to haul around with you all the time.
Cons will go next. I would like to state that our gang consisted of musicians and music fans with years of festival, gigging, touring, and student dormitory experience, so my companions and I didn't care much about the 2nd part of the cons review. Yet I do realize that to those who are not familiar with living rough-and-ready could be shocked by these things, so I pointed them out For Your Information. :) I have read other reviews before composing mine because I felt like other travelers who stayed there before us should've noticed those issues as well.
- Keep in mind that photos must be at least 5 years old. The TV sets were nowhere to be found (not that we needed them much; just an example of inconsistency that I wanted to point out). The wardrobe in our room looked like it collided with something/someone big enough to damage its geometry.
- PLEASE BE PREPARED TO PAY IN CASH. No POS terminal available, as it seems.
- The cleanliness is another major issue, and I mean MAJOR, since it has been pointed our repeatedly be the previous tenants and some Spanish/Italian family that lived in another apartment right above us. When I told the owner that there are spiders in our bathroom (my missus is scared of spiders), the owner replied that "it's a spider season". Riiight. Must've been a season for a past year or so, judging by the reviews. :D So I had to take little arachnids, four of them, to the courtyard. There were still some left in another apartment, sitting merrily in their cobwebs behind the wardrobe.
THE FOLLOWING ISSUES WERE NOT A HUGE PROBLEM FOR US, JUST POINTING THEM OUT:
- Some people were displeased by the fact that there was some food left by the previous owners. Not an issue for us, we left some of our surplus there as well. Sharing is caring. :)
- Microwave ovens should be a nice addition to the kitchens.
- WiFi router is ancient and must be upgraded. We used mobile data instead.
- Window frames are a pain-you-know-where to close. Should be fixed: we were staying there in August heat, but I doubt that those who come during colder time of the year will be happy with those frame locks. Really tricky ones.
- Please get some curtains for the bathrooms. Splishy-splashy all over the place.
- I understand lack of washing machines, but they would be a nice addition, too.
Hope all this will be taken into consideration. :)
- Jorge (7/5): Good - This is a great location, and a comfortable place. The only disadvantage is that it is a bit difficult to park the car nearby, but it is possible to walk everywhere or take the tram. A great place from which to visit the whole city.
- Crispin (10/5): a really great couple of days in a lovely quiet and historic area. - lovely and quiet. full of character. basic but comfortable. N/A
- Eva (8/5): - Apartment umístěn na krásném místě, výborná komunikace s paní majitelkou, byt vybaven příjemně a vším potřebným.
- Sauli (10/5): - Siisti pieni hotelli ,hyvä palvelu, rauhallisella paikalla
- Denis (4/5): - Close to castle but much too high from downtown. 10 minutes to downtown but 45 minutes from downtown to appartment.
Also, only 2 towels, no soapnothing else.
Bed not confortable
- Andrey (10/5): Good hotel in a good location. - 400 meters from a tram station.500 meters from a prague castle entrance.Quite apparyments in a quite place in front oc the nice cafe. The owner is vety friendly.
- Katerina (10/5): Čistý hotel s dobrou dostupností - Apartmány na hezkém romantickém místě, dostupnost i centra. Čisté pokoje, plně vybavená kuchyňská linka. Ochotná a milá paní majitelka.
- Martin (6/5): Nice apartment - Nice place in a good distance to the centre of the Old town. We were missing aircondition and the wifi was very slow but else a nice experience
- Lenka (10/5): Romantika Nového světa - Prima apartmány kousek od Pražského hradu.
- bob (2/5): disappointment - Location is great if visiting the castle in Prague When we arrived, no one there, we called, no answer. I banged on the door no answer, a nice lady across the street had a personal cell phone and called them for me. If she had not been there we would not have been able to use the apartment at all., They had not checked their messages to see we had booked the room and after we reached them (due to the awesome neighbor) we needed to wait for them to call us back to determine if they were going to come let us in. 10 minutes later they said OK but it will be an hour before we can come.. place was musty smelling, broken toilet, burnt out lightbulbs where some were replaced after we got in so we could see up the stairs. We paid for parking and they locked the car into a garage that we could not access until they would come back to check us out in the morning, which was bad because we forgot our medicine in the car. I asked to please let us have access to the car as there was an internal door but was refused, if there had been offstreet parking When they came back to let us go, they started cleaning the room before we went out the door, it seemed that they have no interest in having guests here. I would not stay again
- vlasta kumpelová (2/5): - velmi dobrá starostlivost po všech stránkách
- Anna (10/5): Veldig bra !!!
- Jen (4/5): MUCH misinformation in the hotel description - Although the manager was kind and helpful, we canceled the last 4 of our planned 5 nights at this hotel (leaving after the 1st night). Overall, room was clean & had wi-fi (but no phone in room).
Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied with our stay due to key details INCORRECT in the Expedia lodging info:
1) This hotel is in the Hradcany area- NOT Mala Strana; it was MUCH farther away from the town center than we expected.
2) Although the policies section says "Visa accepted," we were told CASH only, and the entire bill must be paid UPFRONT (i.e., at check-in). We expected to pay w/ credit card & had to go to an ATM & withdraw cash in local currency.
3) We ONLY chose this hotel b/c it came up under a search for "free parking." However, free parking is NOT available. Apparently, local parking regulations recently changed. Parking was only available at another hotel, a 10-15 minute walk away & for a daily fee.
4) The manager only comes to the apts when booked guests are expected. There is no lobby, front desk, concierge, etc. It's just a door to knock on. When we arrived, no one was there. We had to carry our belongings around the city w/ us & come back 5hrs later for the 2pm check-in. Guests get keys and, since payment is upfront, drop keys in the mailbox upon "check-out."
May be OK for independent travelers but not great for 1st time Prague visitors looking for the traditional hotel experience w/ a front desk (to help w/ recommendations, directions, phone calls, etc).
