- MojiNegro (6/5): Lovely suite, it's the food that let's this place down. - We stayed 8 nights. Check in was efficient. Recognition of status [Titanium] upgraded to a Junior suite. The suite was fabulous and very spacious and comfortable. We were surprised by the location of their suite's, right by the lifts. Thank You for the upgrade. We were advised upon checkin that soft drinks and beer in our mini bar are complimentary, but not once did the staff replenish them! What hotels do not replenish the mini bars? Let me guess, those that are supposedly free! The hotel is quiet and in a great location. Close to so many shopping centres, easy walk to the Town Hall and Taipei 101. On 12/03/26 we felt the earthquake that struck on the east coast [4]. They said it was intensity 2 in Taipei city. We were lying on the bed and boy did it sway back and forth. The lamp shade was also swaying. We quickly packed our backpack and went downstairs and to our surprise Reception were not aware of it. In fact when we told them they discounted what we said by saying "couldn't be as no other guests have reported it" well guess what there's always a first! we pressed the matter and finally they looked on the internet and responded "Oh yes, yes". While we understand this may happen often in your country, however you are hosting many international guests like us who have never experienced this before and we felt their response and lack of providing information to us very poor. I'd hate to be in this hotel if there is ever an emergency. We had to interrogate both of them at reception as to what the safety protocols are in such events. They didn't seem to know much and left us with little to no confidence, to that point we walked out of the hotel as it felt safer to do so. We were not sure if there would be after shocks. Club Lounge - The club is small and un-inviting, we observed people don't stay long. It's basically one small room. -Food is not appetising and served COLD even when it should be a hot dish. -Food isn't well presented and mostly seafood. -Small selection of spirits. -The many staff are not proactive or friendly and mainly just sat behind the desk. Breakfast - Lack of staff understanding 'any' English for a global hotel chain we were surprised. - I was shocked when I ordered poached eggs x2 to be delivered 1 egg in a tiny dish (see photo), not served on toast or anything. - The coffee is terrible, how can you get this so wrong. Its a coffee machine, there's also a coffee machine in the club lounge at least they can provide an ok flat white, no signs of this being available at breakfast, as we asked. - The scrambled eggs where like rubber and totally over cooked one day, then extremely runny and undercooked the next day, this is not good for you so we gave up on their terrible eggs. - Breakfast does not cater for westerners. We thought this maybe a Taiwan thing on how they cook eggs [or not] "RAW" but no it isn't. We moved to the Sheraton Taipei and their eggs and omelettes were lovely. The food in general was alot more palatable at the Sheraton Taipei. We would not stay here again purely because of the food.

" 一般飯店服務員會有禮貌地回覆: "抱歉，已經沒有高樓了。未來幾天也都客滿。不好意思。"但她的態度非常不耐煩與無禮，讓我們夫妻嚇一跳。也許 貴飯店可以加強員工教育訓練與現場考試，以防其他顧客也受到一樣的對待。不過這位櫃台人員是特例，其他服務人員都非常有禮貌，包括清潔人員、行李人員、協助叫車人員等。感謝其他人員的優質服務。 2. 701房的電視遙控器對於客廳與房間的遙控會互相干擾。由於到了早上，忘了此事，因此，住宿期間，我們並未通知貴酒店。敬請修復，可讓其他客戶有更好的住宿體驗。感謝!

- EEEEA1234 (4/5): A Masterclass in How to Ruin Loyalty (Marriott Bonvoy - an Ambassador level guest) – One Manager at a Time - Le Méridien Taipei is a good property with decent rooms and surroundings, but it is currently being let down by a "gatekeeping" culture that values the rulebook over the guest. I’m an Ambassador member traveling with family in two suites (one via a Nightly Upgrade Award). Instead of a seamless family vacation, we’ve been met with a "split-family" policy. A manager, Jay T, has been the primary source of friction, strictly barring half my family from the lounge. And two years ago I ran into similar service issues with this exact same person, again over something minor. What’s most disappointing is the psychological game being played. Jay T framed the hotel's standard status recognition as an act of "generosity," making me feel like a burden for wanting my family to be able to have breakfast together (for free of course, but then he made me feel I am being cheap - really?). This is a common service failure highlighted by hospitality experts: when a manager makes a guest feel "guilty" for using their benefits, the brand is already lost. As a loyalist who spends 100+ nights a year in Marriotts, it’s heartbreaking to see the Bonvoy program’s value destroyed by one person’s rigidness. I am 15 years Platinum or above, and Ambassador level means spending at least US$23k per year (I spent significantly more). An incident like this made me think thru is there value in continually being so loyal - think about it, 100 nights is A LOT. I spent just under 20 nights elsewhere). If you’re traveling as a group or family, be warned: this property cares more about "policing" the lounge than they do about creating a "surprise and delight" experience for their most valuable guests. Also, the lounge itself is pretty bad to begin with. I ended up just purchasing the breakfasts - why argue to create more negative memories. I actually gave Jay a service attitude lecture - and he lectured me back! (about all the freebies I already got…) He also gave me his business card basically suggesting “you should feel free to complain about me because I know I am right” Avoid if you value hospitality over bureaucracy. Here is my direct words to Jay and the management team: Jay, I understand the policy per your interpretation, but the hospitality industry is moving toward frictionless travel and being able to really delight customers, especially the MOST loyal ones. By forcing my family to split up, you aren't protecting the lounge; you're creating a negative emotional memory of my family vacation. I'm an Ambassador member who used certificates to be here. Is a few extra breakfasts worth the social media and corporate feedback that says this hotel isn't family-friendly for loyalists? PS. This bad experience prompted me to research the comparison with Hyatt’s program. As it turns out, they status match. And brief analysis shows they treat you at the highest tier as “Guest of Honor”.

- anshinonome (10/5): An Unforgettable Stay at Le Méridien Taipei - This was my first time staying at Le Méridien Taipei, and I spent 10 nights here. The location is absolutely unbeatable, and the service is truly exceptional. I would especially like to express my deepest gratitude to Wilson Chen from the concierge team. Wilson is professional, intelligent, and incredibly efficient. But more importantly, he goes far beyond what one would expect from a concierge. Rather than simply providing service, he felt like the kind of travel companion everyone hopes to have - thoughtful, attentive, and always one step ahead. Everything - whether I thought of it or not - was already carefully prepared. I spend nearly 1/3 of every year staying in hotels around the world, and I can’t even remember the last time I met a hotel staff member who treated guests with such warmth, sincerity, and family-like care. Wilson is truly rare. Because of him alone, I know for sure that I will return to Taipei, and I will return to Le Méridien Taipei. I would also like to thank Vicky Fang, who is incredibly sweet and attentive. Every interaction with Vicky was a pleasure, and seeing her always brightened my day. - JoeIIe (10/5): Pleasant and comfortable stay - Near malls, not that far from MRT, well-maintained rooms. Really appreciated having the larger than usual space for my luggage (they also provided a luggage rack which I didn't even need to use) and sufficient clothes hangers. However I felt the light at the bathroom mirror could be a lot brighter and for some reason the shower stall was very dimly lit. Breakfast was rather basic and slightly lacking in variety (very personal opinion though). Small incident: I got my room key card but did not immediately enter the room as I was busy with work. About an hour later, I tried to enter my room and realised both key cards didn't work. Got them reprogrammed at the front desk, entered my room, only to find that there was a guy in there polishing the shower fixtures. He looked very shocked to see me and asked if that was my room. Since I still had work to do, I exited the room and left him to continue his work. No harm done.

Staff are not the friendliest! - It’s easy to see a well managed hotel, the staff are friendly and the management anticipates the little things that makes your stay that much better. Sadly I don’t think this is one! The staff here don’t greet the guest, whether you enter an elevator with staff in the elevator or the ground floor breakfast restaurant they seem not to respond to a simple good morning. The room I had was very nice however the toilet closet had yellow stains along all the white caulking.. it’s not what I expect from a 5 stay hotel! The hand held shower wand was installed incorrectly so you could not move the wand holder past 5 foot 10 inches, yet there was 6 more inches if it had been installed correctly to slide the holder up but it was blocked by the bracket holding the pole! The seating for guest who requires a seat while waiting for a taxi or grab is conveniently located by the elevators and there is no way to see the entrance of the hotel. It just makes no sense! The breakfast restaurant on the ground floor has less than 6 sets of salt and pepper shakers… again I am being generous I believe there are only 4 for the entire restaurant.. again management is just not wearing the customer hat! I did stay at the Sheraton Grand, the staff were excellent! Location not as good so you might consider the W hotel that has similar location as the Le Meridian.

Additionally, there was human hair on the pillow and in the bathroom. This level of so-called "cleanliness" is unacceptable and well below the standard expected of a five-star hotel.

- travelwynne (10/5): New go-to hotel - I had a great experience! In previous trips to Taipei, I used to stay at different hotels. However, this has become my new favorite. It's in a great location, has excellent staff, and the rooms are decent. I want to shout-out particular staff members who were incredibly welcoming: Wilson and Kent who work at the concierge were really helpful. Vicky from housekeeping always goes above and beyond to fulfill my requests. Everyone I'm talked to from front desk has treated me really well. The people who work at the lounge have impeccable service. In particular, Saya, is really friendly.

Even though I stayed in a standard room, it felt surprisingly well-designed with great attention to detail. (Rooms at the end of the hallway have Bose speakers on the ceiling, allowing for a rich sound experience all night. The room was very clean, with no damp smell, and I was welcomed by a refreshing 18°C breeze upon entering.) 2. Suites are mostly city-view, not Taipei 101-view, but they are well-maintained. Considering the generally small hotel rooms in Taipei, it was a satisfying experience. Staff Friendliness: ★★★★★ 1. I was impressed that the staff greeted me in Korean. When I asked about nearby tourist spots, they provided enthusiastic and helpful recommendations. The bell staff handled luggage faster and with a friendlier attitude compared to other hotels. I even found the staff’s warm welcome superior to W Hotel. Marriott Elite Benefits: ★★★★ 1. They make a sincere effort to upgrade your room. (As a Titanium member, I was upgraded to a suite once and to a Taipei 101-view standard room another time—though this was during a weekday stay.) 2. While the late checkout time may be slightly earlier than 4 PM, they compensate with extra points, which made me feel valued as a loyal guest. Hotel View: ★★★★★ 1. Even if you don’t get a Taipei 101 view, don’t be disappointed. The city view offers a luxurious skyline featuring high-end apartments and bank headquarters. 2. Due to the hotel’s height limitation (max 11 floors), the Taipei 101 view is seen from an angle. However, by adjusting the chair position, you can still enjoy a stunning view, as I did while working on my laptop all night. It was an unforgettable experience. Hotel Surroundings: ★★★★★ 1. Din Tai Fung is just 30 seconds on foot (right in the building across). 2. While there’s no direct connection to the Sky Bridge, all shopping malls surrounding Taipei 101 are easily accessible from Le Méridien. 3. The hotel is located in an upscale residential area. Take a walk in the park in front of the hotel—you’ll feel the elegant atmosphere of luxury apartment residents blending seamlessly into the hotel’s surroundings. Lounge: ★★★ 1. Compared to W Hotel, which doesn’t have a lounge at all, Le Méridien having one is already a plus. However, the food selection and quality aren’t sufficient for a proper dinner. 2. Replenishment of food items, such as fruits, isn’t done frequently even when supplies run low. 3. Staff service in the lounge is average, without any extra attentiveness. 4. There isn’t much of a view from the lounge, but the happy hour is still a perk worth using. Breakfast: ★★★★★ 1. Breakfast is excellent, offering fresh ingredients and a great variety of fruits. The attention to detail is evident. 2. The fruit section is always well-stocked. I particularly loved being able to fill my plate with plenty of watermelon. Facilities: ★★★★★ 1. Some standard rooms do not have bathtubs (mine didn’t). However, the sauna on the 2nd floor is well-maintained and very clean. I found it so convenient that I used it multiple times a day, making up for the lack of a bathtub. 2. The gym is well-equipped, and you can run on the treadmill while enjoying a view of a luxury department store. Overall, Le Méridien provides a highly satisfying stay, particularly for Marriott elite members, with top-tier service, a prime location, and a luxurious atmosphere connecting seamlessly to Taipei 101 and the best shopping areas.

I feel bad for the team at this hotel who work very hard but are following some absurd practices and guidance from there leaders. Two incidents happened today that to me are just not acceptable: 1. Check in time is 3pm. I arrive just after 3pm and get told the room is not ready because the previous guest has not left yet and that I had to wait. Insane. How that is possible I have no idea - clearly shows that management of schedule at the hotel is extremely loose. 2. I call room service for an ice bucket to put a bottle of wine in. They told me they would need to charge me NT600 as a “rental fee”!!!! We are paying premium premium room rates in the centre of Taipei at one of the top hotels in town.. seriously a joke! Honestly do not recommend this hotel - they don’t treat their guests as top priority.
