- Diana C (8/5): - We loved this! The views were beautiful from our room. The garden was gorgeous from our room with a view of the canal. We were just getting sleep after our flight so the price was right. Our room was very basic, but the bathroom was new and pretty for the space. It would be so easy to uptick the room to be lovely. Staff was friendly and lobby is very Venetian looking. Superb location for the Accademia, Guggenheim, and Ca’ Rezzoncio. Great bakery for a Cornetto the Italian version of croissants at Pasticceria Toletta.

- Brendan (8/5): - The location of the Pensione Accademia cannot be faulted, being close to the Accademia Gallery and vaparreto stop. It’s also within walking distance of several Venetian attractions. This was my third stay here. The service seemed less friendly than on previous visits. Reception staff were invariably grumpy. On the plus side they did arrange a breakfast basket for my early morning departure.
- Brian (10/5): - Convenient location, close to major attractions like St Mark’s Square. Also conveniently located to the Vaporetto stop (Accademia Bridge) that travels up and down the main canal. Another plus was that if you take a shared water taxi from the airport, it will drop you off right at the hotel. Staff were very helpful and hotel/room was clean. Complementary breakfast had good selection of food. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

Once there, we were shown to a lovely room with the view of a narrower canal and the hotel garden. The location was very convenient. An easy walk to the Doge’s Palace, Guggenheim Museum, and Rialto Bridge. The people were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were ideal. This was really an ideal place to stay in Venice!

There is no lift in the hotel but staff can carry your luggage. A water taxi from the airport is handy and it stops directly in front of hotel.

Breakfast is very good with many and varied choices. The room was spacious and comfortable. The path outside the hotel is quiet but it only takes a few minutes to walk to Piazza San Marco. The private gate onto the canal for where water taxis stop is a lovely extra!

Breakfast was abundant and delicious and the staff there helpful as well. Water taxi drop right outside. Walkable to 'touristy' areas/shopping but away from the hustle in the evenings. Found nice restaurants tucked away in the side streets. The hotel bar looked fun but I didn't partake. You may have to walk a ways and up steps to get to your room but worth it. Highly recommend.

- Brenda (10/5): - The property is beautiful and the location is very quiet . He gardens are beautiful as there is a breakfast patio . They serve a breakfast every morning and it was very good . The staff is very helpful with all your questions and are very professional and willing to help . The room was very comfortable . We had a room on the canal side and we could open the windows for the scenery which was very nice . I only have two complaints . I do hope the owners listen and make a very small change that make a big difference in the quality of sleep for all your guests . The pillows at this property are the worst . They are very flat and the property only provides you with two . For such a nice property they really need better pillows to insure guest a good nights sleep. The blow dryer also needs to be upgraded to a better quality . The one available is the cheapest you can buy, if your a woman with hair that needs to be styled this gets the job done but not with quality styling . My husband and I had a wonderful stay in your hotel and I would recommend your property to my friends . We stayed here for three nights and it was lovely .
- Alma (10/5): perfect Venice getaway - This hotel is perfect - away from the activity of St. Marks Square. Took us about 15 minutes to walk over. Close to Ponte dell'Accademia. Beautiful gardens, wonderful breakfast, sitting rooms. Our bedroom was so comfortable and overlooked the little canals with a glimpse of the Grand Canal. Highly recommend

I had not told them in advance that three flights of stairs without an elevator would be a problem. Although they were full they went to enormous lengths to change my room. Everything was good ... location, breakfast, garden, bar and location with partial vew of nearby Grand Canal.

- Christine A. (10/5): Understated Elegance - The old palace offers many places to sit inside and outside. You're not simply confined to your room and a busy lobby. I wanted something with an old Venetian feeling and this certainly provided that. I loved the view of a minor canal from our window that led to the Grand Canal. Just so readers know, the Grand Canal is noisy. The pensione was calm. Amazingly, they had two garden, front and back and all landscaping was carefully tended. The breakfasts on the terrace were gracious and all staff were extremely cordial, Amazing feeling of being off the beaten path while actually being centrally located. You feel brought back to the times when the Russian Aristocracy stayed here.

Our room was beautifully and thoughtfully appointed, large, overlooking the canal side. Hotel breakfast service was amazing. The hotel bar offered great drinks and light bites. Private taxi boat from the airport dropped us on the hotel dock and promptly picked us up at the hotel for return to the airport. Easy walking distance to major sites, like Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs. Hotel is steps from the Grand Canal. Very clean, no unpleasant smells from the canal and no mosquitoes to note. Will 100% stay there again. Great visit!

- Gregory (6/5): - The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly. Some staff were nice like the gentleman at the buffet who greeted us in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our food. We stayed for three nights and there were several times where we’d enter the hotel and the guy at the front desk would say nothing. Our shower wasn’t draining properly and we asked them to fix it. They didn’t so we recorded a video to show them and on our last night they fixed it with a meager, “sorry”. On the bright side, the room is clean, location is great, and the buffet was lovely. We also left two things in the hotel and when we returned, they kindly went to our room to retrieve the items.

Comfortable bed and cozy quaint room ours had a lovely view of the canal. Lovely and friendly staff/ the front desk gentleman was very helpful, I just wish I remembered his name. He told us about a free tour to a glass blowing factory in Burano which was fabulous, with a free taxi ride, that was like a tour because it was such a beautiful way to see the city on the way to Burano, if you can take advantage of the free tour. Overall I can not say enough about our visit to Venice and our stay at this hotel. Only negative is if you have issues with stairs ask for a Downstairs room if possible. I will recommend to anyone going to Venice.

- Alan (10/5): - This is a beautiful property with wonderful staff. We had a room overlooking a small canal and about 100 feet from the grand Canal. Air conditioning does not start until June. This means you need to open the windows and they can be noisy. The noise depends on who happens to be boating by the window. Most of the time there was not a lot of noise it was somewhat random. The courtyards two of them were nice. Needless to say Google maps is a must to get around Venice. We would definitely stay at this hotel, if we come back to Venice. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. From the airport, we took a taxi and then walked to the hotel took a while to get used to the streets. To get to the train station the front desk called us a water taxi. This was convenient but expensive. There were many really nice restaurants, nearby reasonably priced and a lot of options. One night we had a bottle of wine and sat on the front patio and enjoyed the view and each other.

The location was perfect - it's near enough to the tourist areas but nice and quiet, tucked away at the end of a footpath so no passing foot traffic at night either. The staff were friendly and amenable - they fulfilled a cheeky request for a canal view as we couldn't find a specific option to book one on Expedia, they allowed us to check in 30mins early on arrival and held a backpack for us on our last day so we could explore for the day without luggage. Breakfast spread was lovely with hot and cold/sweet and savoury options for all needs. The decor was lovely and traditional without feeling stuffy, and our room was spotless on arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pensione Accademia

- Fraser James (10/5): - This was my first time in Venice and I couldn't have picked a better hotel. It's a beautiful, historic building a few minutes from the Academia Art Gallery and vaporetto stop, as well as the Accademia Bridge. It's incredibly handy for the Grand Canal but is situated in a quiet district. The staff are all very pleasant, the rooms are clean and nicely furnished and the breakfast is first class. Highly recommended!

- Kimberly (8/5): - The service is superb, the location is good, and the setting is beautiful. It is close to two vaporetto stops, one of which is on the water taxi route to the airport. It is walkable to the Accademia and the Accademia Bridge over the Grand Canal. The staff is super helpful. They helped carry my bags up and down from my room, provided silverware when I needed it for my takeout dinner, gave my a tray every morning so I could eat breakfast in my room, and answered all my questions. I really liked them. My only issues were that the bed was very firm (though that is typical in Europe) and the shower very small (I could barely turn around and I'm an average size person).

- IAN (10/5): Delightful Accademia Pensione in Dorsoduro - The Accademia/Maravege is a delightful family-run historic Pensione that has been cosily modernised in a good convenient location in the Dorsoduro area near the Accademia Bridge vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal - with many excellent local restaurants! The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and well-furnished, and the breakfast selection is good and tasty. It also has a lovely front patio and rare courtyard garden. Highly recommended.

The hotel itself is gorgeous, but we also loved our room! We had a lovely canal view with an ocean breeze and a very comfortable bed. The room was filled with beautiful furniture. It even had a Murano glass chandelier! We enjoyed the bar area near the lobby where there are evening snacks and you can order cocktails as well. The location was very walkable to all points of interest as well as amazing restaurants. What an enchanting place.

We will definitely stay here again if/when we return to Venice in the future! The gardens both in the front and back are stunning and so relaxing. You feel like you have your own little oasis in the hot city. Breakfast is great, service is superb, rooms are a throw back into the past. Spring for a bigger room with the view of the canal and gardens you won’t be disappointed!

Full disclosure- Our room was on the third floor with no lift so pack light. The hotel generously loaned us beach towels so we could go to Lido for the day - which was fantastic. Restaurants and shopping nearby. 2 minute walk to vaporetto. I would definitely stay here again!

The breakfast was very good and well organized. The gardens are really nice. The room #42 was of sufficient size. All amenities were clean and in good working order. The shower was very nice spacious enough for us two. There is litterally no down side to this hotel and nothing to improve. Just keep up the good work. We felt like royalty. - Cynthia (10/5): Wonderful Hotel! - We really enjoyed the hotel Pensione Accademia-Villa Maravege! It is located in a quiet area of Venice yet is walking distance to many shops, restaurants and attractions. The staff was very helpful giving directions and the breakfast offered a great variety of foods and was delicious! There is a beautiful garden area where you can eat outside and there is an additional pretty little park-like area in the back.
- Telva (8/5): - The hotel was an ideal location for water taxi’s pick up and drop offs. It was a nice hotel. Only issues we had was that the central air wasn’t working well and we had to keep telling the front desk to fix the issue. The other thing was that the hotel runs on low electric so you can’t bring your own blow dryer or clothing steamer because you will trip the circuit breaker. Also, they won’t bring an iron to your room, you have to go to the laundry area and iron it from there. I was supposed to have the VIP 20% off food and that wasn’t applied.
