The property feels very old and outda - The location is decent, which is probably the main positive point, but unfortunately that was not enough to make up for the rest of the experience. The hotel felt very old and outdated, and overall it did not leave a good impression. The man at reception made very little effort to make us feel welcome and provided almost no explanation or useful information during check-in. Overall, I would avoid staying here again and would not personally recommend this place.

• Ivan (9/5): Surprisingly spacious for a fairly convenient location - The staff are very friendly (umbrellas available when the weather is atrocious), it's clearly a while since it was last decorated, but it's perfectly clean, and also pretty cheap - very good value if you don't mind that there's historic (not current) water marks on some of the walls. The room is pretty sizeable too - very good value considering the location and everything. To be honest there's not much to dislike. The interior has seen better days, but you're probably going to spend most of your time here asleep, so what's the worry?

• Francesca (8/5): Un ryokan old school a Dontombori - Cercavamo un Ryokan nel cuore di Osaka e lo abbiamo trovato. Di certo è una struttura un poco datata, tuttavia l’abbiamo trovata pulita e spaziosa. Al suo interno ha anche un onsen dalle dimensioni ridotte ma molto confortevole e ben curato. L’abbiamo apprezzato molto! Dopo una giornata di esplorazione della città è stato davvero una coccola di fine giornata, aperto fino a tarda serata. Lo staff è stato preparato e molto attento e gentile. La struttura è un po’ datata

• Sallie (10/5): A charming traditional Japanese inn experience. - If you’re looking for a traditional Japanese inn experience then the Osaka Ryokan Kuramoto is the perfect answer. We stayed in a quadruple room on the sixth floor even though there were only two of us since at the time of booking it was the only room available. However it turned out to be a great choice as we had so much room. Instead of four futons on tatami mats we had just two so a lot of extra space that was very welcome. The room itself was incredibly clean and so charming with a little Zan garden outside the window balcony (not usable) and windows that from the top half had the paper inset and could slide open for fresh air. We found the futons extremely comfortable and the pillows likewise. The room was also very, very quiet and the shower great. We loved the robes to go to the bath house on the ground floor and the bath house itself was so nice and very welcome after a busy day in Osaka. Our booking did not come with breakfast but we were able to pay for it on arrival and it was excellent. A traditional Japanese breakfast with so many little plates of delicious foods all set out beautifully. The staff were very welcoming and can speak some English. All in all it was a lovely experience and a highlight of our trip to Japan. On a future trip we would return in a heartbeat! We loved it all.

Personnel très aimable ; il est juste dommage que certains ne soient pas très à l’aise avec l’anglais. Accès libre à un Onsen ; je n’ai pas eu le temps d’en profiter, mais c’est un service appréciable. Des Yukata sont fournis, ainsi que des brosses à dent et à cheveux. Du thé macha et une bouilloire avec maintien au chaud étaient à disposition dans la chambre. Décoration un peu défraîchie (traces d’humidité). Manque de serviettes de toilette. Il faut avoir sur soi une appli de traduction « vidéo », car il n’y a pas de manuel traduit pour la bouilloire.

Stanza in stile ryokan con tatami, tavolino e con bollitore per farsi un té macha insieme a un biscottino. Un gesto di accoglienza molto apprezzato. Ho amato anche l'onsen, poco frequentato e rilassante. È stato tutto perfetto. Molto consigliato
• Nadia (10/5): Tradizionale ed eccellente - Ryokan super curato! Perfetto per immergersi in un po' di cultura giapponese. Stanze tradizionali con tatami e letti futon, molto apprezzati. Oltre al bagno privato in stanza, si può accedere ai "sentō" i bagni con grande vasca calda tradizionale, super rilassante! L' hotel è in una zona tranquilla ma vicinissima ai quartieri di Namba e Dotonbori, che la sera si animano e dove è pieno di ristoranti. Il personale è molto cordiale e disponibile, e la portineria è sempre attiva.

What I liked most was the location—just a short walk from the train station and very close to Dotonbori and major shopping areas. The hotel is a traditional Japanese ryokan with beautiful tatami flooring, offering a truly authentic experience. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the smell in the hallway and elevator carpets, which I feel could use an upgrade. Other than that, everything was great! It's a safe and convenient place to stay, especially if you plan to explore Osaka's top sights and shops.

The ryokan was comfortable to sleep on surprisingly. Check in was very friendly. They showed us the room. Cannot use outdoor shoes inside the room but they have slippers. Would recommend for a unique experience.
• J (9/5): A honeymoon with a Ryokan experience! - We really enjoyed the vibe of our room, the flooring, as well as the bedding. It was super comfortable. The front desk operates 24 hours, which we found to be super convenient. We were also able to leave our suitcases at the hotel earlier on, so we could go out empty handed. Staff were very accommodating One thing to note, you're only given one key. You have to leave that key with the front desk when you exit the property, and collect it when you come back.

(저는 영어, 일본어 매우 못하지만 거의 알아들었습니다.) 대욕탕은 밤마다 갈정도로 피로를 풀기에 좋았습니다. 도톤보리나 지하철 역과도 가깝고, 근처에 편의점도 많아요. 숙소에 음료 자판기뿐만 아니라 맥주 자판기도 있어서 편리했습니다. 숙소 시설, 방음, 직원분들까지 모두 좋았습니다. 일본 다다미방을 원하시는 분들을 꼭 가보세요~ 이불도 도톰해서 큰 불편함 없이 바닥에서 잘 수 있어요!

• JI UK (8/5): - If you like old-fashioned style, it is really good choice. Also location of this hotel is good. Clearance service was good, too. The only on what I was disappointed was hours of use for public bath. Public bath is forbidden from 8 ~ 9 pm.

• Melanie (7/5): Traditional ryokan with public onsen. Needs a bit of updating - It was traditional with an onsen. The female staff member showed us to our room and explained the facilities. Our family used the onsen which was a good experience The towels and sheets were old, thin and worn. Needing replacing. The futon mattresses were quite thin and hurt our hips after many hours of walking during the day.
