Guest Reviews
- MIGUEL ANGEL (8/5): - No desayune ahi
- Anastasia (6/5): -
- Diego (7/5): -
- giuffre (1/5): - Todo sucio viejo y malísima atención
- Israel (8/5): - Location is great. The lofts are pricey but they are nice, well maintained and has character. The attached restaurant was also good! Recommend getting breakfast with your room.
- Ronald (8/5): A good place to stay if you are passing through Buenos Aires on the way to Uruguay by ferry. - Location was really good. Able to wander about at night to markets and shops. Close to the ferry terminal. Good value for money. Clean and friendly. Had everything we needed.
- mariusz (10/5): - Position, surranding and atmosphere No lift
No volveria
- Gabriel (10/5): Expectacular.
- Markus (7/5): -
- Rares (8/5): Nice place that needs a little attention - The area was really spacious in an excellent location.
The stuff was really nice and undesrtanding. Some of the surfaces were a little dirty. You could see the bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly, like the sink, and the walla near the sink had toothpaste and water splashes on them.
The restaurant is kinda expensive and you don't really have options to order from.
The loft is so big that they can put an electric stove so you can cook something small and actually use that kitchen.
- Todo
Vamos a volver !
- FRANCISCO (10/5): -
- Juan (10/5): -
- Esteban (9/5): Excelente opcion value for money - The shower and towels were really good El edredon no tenia funda y estaba manchado
- LICIA (8/5): -
- ThomasM3 (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - Las instalaciones acojedoras.
- Gillian (9/5): Fantastic location - A very interesting, historic building in a fantastic location, very spacious rooms, water every day in the fridge provided. We had breakfast one morning which was very good and plentiful. The staff were friendly and kind WiFi was a bit intermittent at times.
- Anthony (10/5): - loved everything about the place and the staff are very friendly 😊
- Carmen (8/5): - Breakfast was worth having and the staff were always helpful, room is comfortable but it's not a hotel just individual rooms. Location is good, however wouldn't stay again. I'd rather be in a hotel.
Quase perdemos o horário do aeroporto. Acabamos voltando para o quarto, fechando e descendo a bagagem enquanto esperávamos o café.

- Thomas (9/5): Great San Telmo location above good restaurant - Spacious 2 room apartment.
Above very nice restaurant. I loved their huge ready-made appetizer selection for 3500AR$ each. Very fast and convenient.
Very attentive staff.
Nice bathroom. Large rooms. Comfortable bed.
Balcony (I didn’t use)
Relatively quiet.
Across from church (which did not ring its bells until 11am thankfully). Old building so some fixtures are worn.
Large entrance room—the floor vibrated from kitchen fan in restaurant below when restaurant was operating.
- Diego Martin (10/5): -
- Terrence R (10/5): Good experience - Great loft space, perfect location near San Telmo market, good value.
- Jeremy (7/5): Good - Great location , great restaurant , help from the staff Stairs in the bedroom, 30 stairs to enter the property
- Erica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenitza (10/5): Friends - Beautiful loft. Excellent service, thanks to all the staff. Very centric. Definitely stayed in if I come back to Argentina.
- Judy (10/5): - Right opposite to a big church, also located in an artistic area close to old town center. It's a lift with split levels inside, spacious, clean, comfortable with good air-con & Wi-Fi. We were provided VIP access (free drinks and 10% discount for dinner) which is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic but included. The only issue is many stairs going up to the apartment is a bit challenging, given my husband has a heart condition and I got my left knee injured. All the rest are good. Still highly recommend it
- Robert Scott (4/5): Warning - Although my stay was very comfortable an unfortunate incident occurred that merits a warning to all who may choose this place for future accommodation.
I left the property to check the local sites.
My room was locked (I unfortunately forgot to close the safe) and when I returned a considerable amount of money was missing. The only one who who could have possibly taken it would be someone with a key to the room. When I let the management know they initially seemed concerned and supportive. Assuring me they would deal with it and let me know as soon as possible.
Weeks went by, no response, not until I reached out again. Even though the room was locked they felt I failed in my responsibility to lock the safe.
As disturbing as that is the fact that they never got back to me until I prompted them to do so is more concerning. Very unprofessional!
- Sebastián (2/5): Very poor - The room has extremely thin walls with the other room. The persons talking in the other room can be heard as if there were in the same room as you
- Enrique (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lorraine (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Loft Osteria by Sagardi. In terms of location, you really can’t beat it! San Telmo is lovely and the hotel is located in a quaint cobblestoned street that is quiet for sleeping, but close to shopping and dining options, as well as a grocery store and the market. The staff are pleasant and the simple breakfast of toast or croissants, coffee and orange juice was very tasty. We also appreciated the fresh towels each day. This is an old building, with some of the issues you might expect, but overall a decent option for travellers looking for a safe, affordable place to stay. I do think the room would benefit from a deep clean as it was a bit grubby in spots, but the linens were fresh and the toilet and sink were cleaned each day. One recommendation I would make to the owner is to attach a bottle opener to the wall in the mini-kitchen. The hotel provided two bottles of mineral water but you need an opener to remove the caps and I noticed guests had damaged the table and stairs trying to pry off the bottle caps, which is a shame. Overall, this hotel is a good option for travellers of the “cheap and cheerful” variety who just want a comfortable place to sleep while they enjoy their visit to Buenos Aires.
- Krys (2/5): - The is a deeply run down property that rents rooms - it's not really a hotel. The doors to the rooms/apartments don't close properly - you are forever mucking about with pulling the wooden doors and turning the keys. The blinds above the entrance doors get stuck in the doors and you cant move them as you can reach them - you'll be mucking about with it for ages. The kitchen had cob webs on it - clearly not cleaned for a while and evidently not checked before being let out. The room has got windows closed off with blinds staples to them and the weird art work on the ceiling clearly covers something nasty. Electrics behind the bed were exposed - myriad of cables and junction boxes not sealed. These are basics of a let properly. The courtyard is falling apart and the chairs are not usable. The fabric is coming off and there are puddles of water laying on what fabric remains. The bathroom is painted black so you can't see the dirt. Best not to look too hard or you might end up leaving. Incase like me you thought there was a pool there is not. It has been closed off for years and the court years left is a dumping ground for the owners. Should be a lovely place but it's at best a one star stay. Refund please. If you'd like photos of any of the above please do let me know.
- Eduardo (3/5): Never again - Location
Brand name Not worth the price. Guido at the reception was very helpful and professional. They only gave us one set of keys and he managed to get me an additional set. Staff in general is friendly. The first room we were assigned was smelly. Guido got us a better room. Decoration is non existent. The place needs maintenance. The toilet tank leaks and the shower is semi clogged. The sofas in the court need to be reupholstered. See pictures. There are much better options in the area. This place damages badly the Sagardi brand. We’ve been to Sagardi locations worldwide and this is substandard. I fully agree with the previous poor review by Jennifer. The manager was on vacation. I had to stay because I had prepaid three nights at usd 90 per night. Do not reserve in advance. Today the same room costs less than half that price. A ripoff. Never again.
- Jørgen (4/5): Disappointing - Area Room ok but they try to cheat you in the restaurant don't accept anything from them Not a water when you arrive you are going to bale expensive for it.11000 for a glass of wine for tappas 10 us dollars
- Guwagiya (9/5): Great place to stay if you are not new to BA and had developed a sort of modus operandi for the city - The hotel (actually a old mansion) has adjacent restaurant serving great breakfast. Location allows easy access to Puerto Madera (great for morning walk/run), scenic San Telmo and rather short walk towards Casa Rosada, Florida Street shopping area, etc.
- Richard (9/5): Great location, good value - Great location Room on street side and was quite noisy at night
- Richard (9/5): Great location, great value - Friendly staff. Atmospheric. A few small things not quite working as well as they might - but great value!
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (9/5): Great value, good location - Atmosphere and large room. A little bit basic in places - but great value!
- Mary (8/5): Great location, adequate accommodations. - The building is a historic treasure and has a great location. The adjoining restaurant serves amazing food. The king-size bed was comfortable. The bed is up a flight of stairs and the bathroom is downstairs, which in the middle of the night isn’t great. The toilet wouldn’t stop running (but hopefully they fixed that.) The interior decor lacks the charm of the inner courtyard that all the rooms open onto.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - Great location, great style of room and excellent restaurant below. The room is a little tired and could do with some minor repair work. However, the room was very good value.
- Jennifer (2/5): - My husband and I booked Loft Osteria by Sagardi for our trip to Buenos Aires. We booked 9 nights. Our flight was originally scheduled to arrive in BA at 10 am but we were delayed and didn't arrive until 1 am. The hotel does not have a reception, rather a desk in the restaurant. You must check in before 11 pm or you cannot get your keys. Thank goodness for internet on the flight because I had to frantically book another room for our first night. Don't be left on the street, just book somewhere else for your entire stay.
The next day we got our keys to our room. It is sub par at best. The room itself is quite beat up. While I understand that it is in a historical building, they could have done some repairs. Besides the squeaky floors, hard and uncomfortable bed, lack of pillows, thin towels, we also had an issue with the shower not draining and the toilet never stopped running. On top of those things, there is visible mold on the ceiling around the air conditioner. There is a beautiful patio outside but don't sit down. Despite no rain for weeks here, there was water in every cushion I tried and I ended up with wet pants.
If you struggle with stairs this hotel could also be a problem. There is no elevator. You alone will have to drag your bags up 30 very steep steps to the rooms. All rooms are up those steps. Then when you get up there if you have a loft room (which we did and we knew) you will have more steps to get to the bed. We could do the steps but when carrying everythi
- Njb110 (9/5): Clean roomy accomdation with good facilities and great location. - Greate location. Large clean rooms with good facilities. Excelent adjacent resturant, but expensive.
- Lucas (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): - .
- Dundar (10/5): - Tres bon emplacement. Super accueil. Magnifique chambre. Restaurant en bas très sympa. Je conseil absolument cet hôtel.
- michael (2/5): - Terrible wifi. I'm possible to work from this hotels wifi in your room.
I the booked the suite to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. A couple weeks before our arrival we were informed that the suite was broken so they would provide a different room. Imagine our surprise when other guest were staying in the suite. The hotel staff lied.
We arrived early and left our bags in the restaurant area where the hotel lobby is situated. We asked if we could wait by the rooftop pool. We were informed that the pool is broken. I guess it's been broken for 4 years!!!!!
The hotel front desk service should have more customer relation training.
You get a small bottle of water when you check in, afterwards you pay for it.
The restaurant must be under different management as it is and has always been very good.
Honestly check out the curio Hilton right in the san telmo square, it's beautiful, about the same price and I'm sure much better kept.
I would be hesitant to book rooms and pee pay as the hotel is not investing in itself at this point.
- Njb110 (9/5): Superb - Spacious rooms. Clean. Great restaurant, but a little expensive. Great location. Good vibe in San Telmo. Adjacent to weekend market and covered market. Can walk to city center and Florida street (about 30 minutes -not recommended at night for safety reasons). Local area is safe. A little run down now.
- Andrew (8/5): Great place to get your bearings in a wonderfully comfortable room. - The Loft Osteria is perfectly situated in San Telmo, moments away from Plaza Dorrego and minutes from the indoor food market, Mercado de San Telmo. Despite being so close to a ‘tourist’ area, it was very quiet as the room windows faced into the courtyard. It’s easy to get to most places and taxis are convenient. As described, these are loft rooms and so it’s open plan, giving you plenty of space. The building itself is nicely decorated. Didn’t have 24hr check-in, but the staff were so friendly and extremely helpful in organising/suggestion other alternatives. The shower drainage was a bit slow, but it is an old building so not too fussed.
- George (8/5): - I love this property because it is quiet and very close to everything. It's in a great shopping area dining area I would say it's close to most tourists. The only thing I did not like is it has a lot of steps to get into the property don't give your handicap, disabled, elderly, you would 🚫 like this property.
- Alex (10/5): Awesome! - Very convenient and good bang for your buck
- Meyer (3/5): They could make this a cute place but could not be bothered. Almost to the point of being unfriendly - Location. Bed was ok. Quiet at night No hospitality, shabby room with garbage unemptied. No amenities like a tea kettle or cups. no reading lamp. terrible furnature. no windows
- Susan J (10/5): - We stayed on night after arriving from a 16 hour flight from San Francisco. Truly so accommodating. Held our luggage until checkin. Loved the room. The shower was hot and wonderful! The restaurant is lively with lots of fabulous dishes! Our room was quiet; it overlooked the street and church. Lovely balcony! Beautiful old floors, 16’ ceilings and 12’ French doors. If you want more of Argentine charm this is it, with modern bath! Love to come back again soon!
- Terrence (10/5): - Great location in SAN Telmo.
- Z4691ZCjimg (10/5): Sagardi Buenos Aires - Our wonderful server, Amanda, guided us in picking the entree choices other than steak. We had great steak dinners 3 times since arriving in B.A. and wanted something different, but local.
We had beef tail stew with mashed potatoes and whole grilled squid. The sides were a huge fresh salad of bibb lettuce from their garden with shaved onions and double fried potato wedges. We also had a reserve Malbec from a local vineyard to go with dinner.
HIGHLY recommend!!
- Todd (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, great place
- Raquel (10/5): Fantastic! - Big spacious room, comfortable bed and very friendly staff. They have a great restaurant and bar downstairs where they give hotel guests a discount. It’s located in a very cool area with markets on the weekends. My fiancé and I had a great time here we would definitely come back. The stairs are steep with no lift. Not ideal for people who have mobility issues.
- Andrew (8/5): - It gave you everything you needed!
- Kruger (10/5): Best place to stay in barrio San Telmo - Best place to stay in San Telmo district .. close to plaza, good restaurants market. 15-20 minute walk to subway is fun, safe, historical. The lofts are above a good Basque restaurant, same owners. Good value too.
- DANIEL III (10/5): - Amazing Staff!!! 2nd time there already.
- Claudio (10/5): - Bello Lugar y excelente ubicación!!
- Tim (9/5): Superb - Superb location with restaurants and cafes on its doorstep.
- Michael (3/5): Bizarre - Decent location Steep stairs … crazy checkin process… not secure … is a love hotel where the restaurant is full of prostitutes.
- Sue (9/5): Great stay in lively part of town - Very good position in San Telmo which is very lively. Restaurant downstairs is excellent and breakfast was great, choice of sweet and savoury, eggs, coffee top ups etc, all served at your table.
Rooms are quite unusual but big bed was comfortable and outside courtyard a lovely place to sit. Rooms could do with a little bit of maintenance
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phyllis (9/5): Superb - Staff was wonderful. Food was great. My suite was on the street side. This was often quite noisy, especially on Saturday night, into early Sunday morning, when they were setting up for the Sunday street market. I would definitely stay there again, but would prefer a room farther from the street noise.
- Pratesi (8/5): Excellent location, private and quiet, in the centre of busy San Telmo area. - Very easy check in/out, friendly staff, great and safe location in the touristy part of San Telmo. Lovely internal courtyard, perfect for relaxing from the busy city outside. The floor in the room could have been cleaned better.
- Guillaume (6/5): Good location but needs some focus on the overall maintenance - The location, the size of the room, rhe friendliness of the staff The dust in the room and the overall tidiness of the room, the lack of maintenance in the room (its falling apart), the smell of meat from the AC, the stairs to get to the room area, the leaks in the shower,...
- Gerhard (10/5): Great stay - super friendly staff - We really enjoyed our stay at Loft Osteria and everything was to our liking. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful and comfortable. And we loved the location. We would stay here again!
