Guest Reviews
- Wanderer08294998868 (2/5): The worst customer service I have ever experienced and the most moldiest shower - Main problem: We return to the room around midnight on the last night. But as soon as we start to take a shower the power goes out, no electricity in the whole room. (I’m literally standing in the dark shower). Because the power didn’t come back the next ten minutes, we peek into the office and there’s also no power. We waiting, maybe half an hour when it came back. But only for one minutes maybe then it goes out again. This is where all our worst experience began. We loudly shouted out "WHY.GOD.WHY" and then there was 2 minutes of laughter. Half an hour later, someone knocks on our door. It was a man, we didn’t know who he was, he didn’t introduce himself or tell us why he was there. He says he hears us screaming and the other residents who pay for their rooms they want to sleep, and If we educate, we don’t act like that.
The side part, it was a super hot day 35C degree heatwave all day. And we walk all over Rome, it was a lot. We really want to take a shower. And most importantly to charge our phones because it was our last night and we flew out next day 10PM. We can’t check in a plane ticket because our phones goes off (using photos and maps all day). And that’s why we really needed the last charge of our phones.
The man looks at the AC controller and that’s it. We start arguing, but he didn’t understand that we need power. He just repeats that we are uneducated and loud and doesn't want to understand that we were tired and frustrated and want power (and really weren't loud). He was super rude. He says if we don’t like something, we should leave and find another place to sleep. We have stayed many different places over the years around the world: hotels, hostels, youth hostels, motels, airb&b but I have never experienced this attitude towards paying customers. He didn’t give a shet about our electricity problem, he didn’t want to accept that we also paying for both a room and electricity. At the end of the discussion, he asks where we are from, the answer was "Hungary" and he waved and left. And as soon I closed the door, the power went out. But not by accident this time. We waited again. Then we looked into the office and there was the light.
In our room, the circuit was turned off at the switchboard. After leaving our door, he purposely turned off the power in our room. It was a the most pathetic, childish move I have ever experienced. There was a grown man and his solution to turn off our room’s power - because we were loud for 2 minutes. Maybe he thinks he’s teaching us a lesson, I don’t know. Then the whole apartment turn off again, and he didn’t came back. Our phones are dead. Next (same) day morning a lady knocking she starts to speak italian (she checked us in 3 days ago - we still speak only english). She said she didn’t understand why the power went out. When I ask who he was last night and told her what he did, she just told us he was her husband and our neighbours calling him because there is no electricity (and she pretends not to hear what he did, just repeats that she didn’t understand why the power went out). So, nobody complain about us being loud! The complaint was because there was no electricity and they were awake too and probably they needed it too. She didn’t apologize for the inconvenience, she didn’t care her husband was rude to us. Or most importantly that he is purposely turn off the power. She pretends she didn’t hear that part. Then the power came back and we were able to charge our phones halfway through.
I would like to note that there was electricity in the entire stairwell, it only affected this apartment. The system could not manage 3 rooms. It was a traditional apartment with 3 separate rooms. And the 3 rooms opened from the main office space. Their shetty place cannot handle 3-room AC+boiler for hot water, and lights and chargers.
After that I won’t sleep any at this night. I was angry and then really scared, what if the crazy old man comes back and forces us to leave the room? There were 3 women, what if he opens a door and just walks into the room... It was not a calm situation.
Everything else: The shower was super moldy, I mean super. It was disgusting. It looked like they never tried to clean it. The boiler was too small, it did not provide enough hot water for 3 people 2 minutes shower (and it was room for 3 people), the last one always take a cold shower... We tried to turn it off, after a few minutes, we didn’t have long shower, but there was never enough hot water (again, pathetic).
The toiletries was 3 piece one-use simples.. for 3 people to 3 night.. It’s lucky that we have our own shower gel and shampoo or we have to buy them too, not just the toilet papers.
And the cleaning saga... at the beginning was half a roll of toilet paper, we used it all for 3 days, there was no more, and on day of the cleaning the lady didn’t bring new ones. But she tries to make our beds. All blankets she put on were stained, dirty spots. And she didn’t change the sheets or do another cleaning.. (mopping, sweeping, bathroom cleaning). And the AC could not be turned off.
Just don’t go there. I know it’s cheap, but it’s not worth it. I have never experienced such rude and aggressive behavior towards anyone, any other human being, especially not to customer service. I think the bare MINIMUM is to have toilet paper and electricity if you stay somewhere. We really didn't want to complain about anything but this late-night power arguing thing didn't happen because of the price. But this! This is not acceptable even for a cheap place!
- pagj1955 (10/5): Great little spot! - Fabulous little spot, clean & basic but if you’re here for a short stay you don’t need anything more. Over the road from the bus station and 20 minute walk to the coliseum. It’s also in the middle of a vibrant restaurant area!
The only drawback is the noise from the traffic but you can shut your windows, there is air con available. Nice little breakfast also at the start of the day! Well worth the money!
- D4245SHryanw (8/5): Worth it if your going for a few days - Right next to the train station which was handy as bus to the airport is there . Only 20 minute walk from colosseum and loads to see on the way. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and brought you breakfast in bed every morning which was good . You do pay for what you get so don’t expect the ritz , but the room was decent and clean. Only thing we had an issue with was finding it as there is no sign so after a lap of the block we decided to look at a panel of buzzers which had the B and B name on it . So maybe needs a sign somewhere . If you stay here then try and get room 3 as it was very spacious compared to room 1 which we caught a glimpse of.
- JenS244 (2/5): Do NOT stay here - We stayed here one night after arriving via train from
Venice late and had an early flight out in the morning. The ONLY positive about this place was the proximity to the Termini station. Our room and bathroom smelled like mold and out white sheets had stains on them. Our room door would not unlock from the inside to let us out! We were literally locked in our room! It took like 5 minutes jiggling the lock & handle to get out! Save your $ and don't stay here...gross.
- 588aristidiss (10/5): The best place to stay in Rome. - The best place to stay in Rome. Firstly, in our check in, Elena's husband welcome us and gave us useful tips about visiting Rome. Our room was very clean and is cleaned daily. Also, they served us breakfast. The Wi-Fi was very fast. The room is next to Termini(about 3 minutes by foot) and very close to many attractions. Be aware that thare's a tax 3.50€ per night per person. The room was much better than I thought. Certainly one of the best airbnb choices.
- GeorgiaD743 (10/5): Excellent experience - Very clean room with a comfortable bed, 20 minute walk from the Colosseum, staff were lovely and bought us a croissant, orange juice and coffee up to us every morning. Definitely recommended for those who are looking for a tidy place to sleep at night in a great location and feeling safe!
- Leviathon_uk (8/5): Looks can certainly be deceiving... and just as well!! - I booked this B&B on booking.com for my wife's birthday. I booked in January for september. It was the first time we'd used this site and the first time we'd travelled to Rome.... what could possibly go wrong... we got an early flight and caught the train into Rome. The B&B was a 2 min walk from the station...walking to where we staying my hopes started to fade.. the area was covered in graffiti and looked really busy . Everywhere we looked we were offered discount buses and tourist stuff... we were, after all, fresh off the boat so to speak... the B&B is a converted apartment in a block of flats, which were not much to look at from outside.. but the apartment itself was lovely!! It was clean and spacious, the ensuite bathroom had a sink toilet and shower and the room had air conditioning and window shutters to help with the heat. The manager who met us was most welcoming and knowledgeable.. she showed us to our room . asked us what time we'd like breakfast in the morning and then started giving us the best advice on where the sites were and the quickest and most interesting routes to get there. Breakfast was fresh loaded croissants from a local bakery with coffee and orange juice.
The B&B is approximately 8 min walk from the colleseum, a quick metro ride or 35 min walk from the Vatican and.. if you like walking... all of the major sites are within walking distance.. there are loads of places to eat within a few mins walk and several minimarts and a coop too.
If you're there to see the sites, get a Roma pass as it will save you money all over the place..... word of warning though... Rome is a noisy, vibrant city.. starting up at about 4am and going through till the early hours.. take earplugs😉
I would use this hotel again without hesitation. A real bargain in a great location.
- Jacqalicious (10/5): Lovely clean room, friendly hostess and great location! - I m not sure why the other reviews are so harsh, we had a wonderful stay there. From the minute we arrived we were made welcome and everything was lovely. The appt block was easy to find and in the perfect location on arrival at the station. The room was always clean and bed made every day. BReakfast was lovely and overall we would definately stay again. Very reasonable price too.
- coljam2015 (10/5): Wonderful owner so ready to please - Excellent value for money. Very close to train and bus station connecting to airport. Host very accomodating . Many eating places close by . Highly recommended. Has hair dryer . Bed a bit creaky but fine - cleanliness very good
