Guest Reviews
- Denise (10/5): - Villa was beautiful and it was quiet. It was everything I needed. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend this resort, if you like quiet and don't mind being a distance from town.
- David (2/5): Disappointing - No Services and Very Inconvenient - The Residences at Nonsuch Bay were a huge disappointment due to three glaring problems:
1) The location is incredibly inconvenient. Plan on a 40 minute drive to any supermarket or restaurant.
2) There is ZERO communication about facilities at the hotel or nearby landmarks - which is the norm for every other villa or hotel rental I've ever experienced. You're on your own from the minute you arrive. I still don't know where their three pools are!
3) Anyone needing reliable cell or wifi service is out of luck. You may get one bar for wifi in the bedrooms (only maybe) and usually zero cell service throughout the unit.
With a sister hotel (Escape) such a short distance away, you would hope for some offer of reciprical privileges - even something as minor as a place for breakfast. But that is NOT the case.
There are so many choices in Antigua. Unless you want to spend half your day navigating terrible roads with constant tailgating and opposing traffic crossing into your lane (nighttime is even worse), I strongly recommend finding somewhere else to stay.
- Beatriz (4/5): - We stayed at Nonsuch (Residences) for 3 nights thinking that it was a hotel. IT IS NOT. After the pandemic, the 'Residences' operate as rented "villas" on a self catered basis. There were no hotel-linked option for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. The nearest supermarket is 40 min away in English Harbour and there are no dining options nearby other than Rokuni which was great but expensive to eat there every day. Rokuni is not part of the hotel. The beach is full of algae and not the turquoise blue as depicted on website. The check-in lady was rude and said we should have "minimal contact with her" and refused to let us check in early even though the 'hotel' was half empty. There are two pools, one had moss around the edges and the other one was half empty and dirty with branches. Our stay here was like staying in an abandoned resort which is in t he middle of nowhere with zero amenities. On a positive note, Half Moon bay is a 10 min drive from Nonsuch and it is a stunning beach with a little restaurant where we were able to have a great lunch. This is probably the only highlight of staying in this part of the island.
- Ryan (10/5): Slightly out of the way - It was really nice, the accommodation is amazing, very spacious, only one place to eat which is very expensive. But other than that it was a great stay
- Serhii (10/5): - Everything was good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were upgraded to Escape we had a really enjoyable 5 days in Escape . Good food, lovely friendly staff ,
Clean well appointed room with fabulous viewđ
Disappointed that we had three rainy and overcast days but was still warm
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The people were friendly and the food was terrific!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The food was INCREDIBLE. Amazing four course meals every night, and you have a few choices for each course. Water sports are included. And the beach, room, pools, etc are all super private. It never felt crowded. The staff is amazingly friendly and the drinks are delicious. I loved that they had a new special drink every day.
- Kyriakos (8/5): - On the less developed area of the island but to the best possible standards at the time of our visit. The dinner was absolutely five star given this was all inclusive. Great views in many of the rooms. Stuff very helpful and attentive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fabulous resort and super friendly and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Underwhelmed - Limited food options with only one restaurant available.
- A (10/5): - Pretty far away from rest of island. Great rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The bathrooms need upgrading but for the most part very beautiful resort. The staff was the best part very friendly and accommodating. I would def return.
- Michael (10/5): - Best kite boarding school (40knots ) in the Caribbean. Food was excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay here! Service is amazing and food is so delicious. Not too close to other places but very relaxing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We like the spacious room, staff was very friendly, the beach could be improved, beach shower was not working.
- Shermain (10/5): - Loved the overal concept . Great customer service. Went out of their way to welcome and please. Didnt like the fact that there was no room service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic resort, made us and our young daughter feel most welcome.
- Trey (10/5): - This resort staff from management to housekeeping are absolutely amazing. Allisha and Zoe are the best. Miss Schena and Miss Cheryl it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and appreciate your professionalism. Great food for every meal and beautiful views at each meal!
- Aoife (2/5): - I liked that the room was as described. The hotel staff did not clean the rooms properly, we had to ask 3 times, and as a result I had to get medical attention when we got back from the trip (bites). Food and drinks are extremely limited. Half the resort was closed and no notice was given to customers. Given that the hotel is 35 mins away from everything, we should have been informed as we were relying on the actives on the other side of the resort. Manager was extremely rude.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved absolutely everything about this property! We had the most relaxing time during our stay and we can't wait to come back!
- Robert (10/5): - Second time there. Beautiful clean rooms, all staff very friendly and accommodating. Lots of activities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Honeymooners - A very private and picture-worthy stay. It was everything we could have asked for the start of our honeymoon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good to stay and relax with peacefull environment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful beach and landscape. Scenori was lovely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property caters to what you want. We asked for recommendations on excursions and were given a very good layout and schedule. They booked our tour ya and had everything ready for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice property. Beautiful views. Staff are friendly. The âallâ inclusive is a bit limited but food was good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The accommodations were incredible. Room was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. Pool was nice and clean as well. A little leniency on scheduling lunches and dinners would have been nice. We were chastised almost when scheduling lunch and dinner each day because we decided to not go to breakfast any of the days there. Overall beautiful grounds and great drinks. The food left something to be desired but overall okay.
- Robert (6/5): - We were at Nonsuch when Antigua (and other Caribbean islands) were suffering from Sargasum sea weed, which filled the small bay at Nonsuch. Whilst this spoiled the use of the beach, we were able to use the pool.
We didn't make use of the available water sports facilities which looked good, and I think if you stayed at Nonsuch with the intent to go sailing / kite surfing you would not be disappointed.
The negatives for us were that the food was average buffet Faye, quantity great, but quality average. Also, the open dining balconies, mean that you are pestered by birds visiting tables and cleaning up after diners have left - not great for hygiene!
Also - whilst room had a kitchenette- there was mouldie in the freezer ice compartment and the kitchen sink smelled of drains. The mouse/rat trap board under the kitchen sink probably isn't the best form of greeting for a new guest (however we saw no rodents whilst at Nonsuch, nor any signs of them).
On the plus side Checkin staff were friendly and helpful.
Tip - hire a car and explore - Shirley Heights and English Harbour worth a visit.
Other than that, like lots of other Caribbean hotels, the place is becoming a little tired.
- Alyssa (8/5): - This hotel is a great spot for couples. My boyfriend and I spent 9 days here and had an amazing experience. The staff is super friendly and the food is over the top. Everything is sit down and no buffet which is a plus. We did the floating breakfast which was cool & different. We also did the flower bath. Flower bath was nice for pictures but the bath tub didnât fill up and there were spiders all over the flowers. Instead we enjoyed the champagne in the pool. One down fall to this place is the staff is not specific when telling you prices for Excursions or taxis. We ended up playing just as much in taxi fees as the Excursions.
- Rich (4/5): - Views and room very good...everything else not.. massive stair cases to get up and down to rooms reception and beavh...which eas man made and tiny and unable to swim due to all algae. Staff in restaurants not happy made mood very dull. Unable to get top dhelf drinkd and was told i couldnt get a sprite until bar open. No sense of how a resort is supposed to make you feel special and wanted...we left for another resort and they did even refund us one night out if three scheduled. Show u how much they care about customer service.
- Janice (10/5): - I love that the property was rolling and dotted with beautiful majestic palm trees and flowers. I love waking up to the birds singing, and the view of the bay was a sight for sore eyes.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Suites were ideal in size and clean. Resort needs more restaurants and a gym
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Another great trip to Nonsuch Bay!! The staff are just wonderful :-)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A truly relaxing atmosphere with amazingly pleasant staff and service. Kudos to all of you and the amazing chef.
- Verified traveler (10/5): THE BEST - Staying at the Escape at Nonsuch Bay was easily the best hotel/resort experience I have ever had. The resort itself is incredible. Each room has a plunge pool and a huge soaking tub on the balcony that overlooks a lovely view. You have to talk yourself out of spending your entire vacation out there. You also have an espresso machine in the room so your mornings having coffee while the sun rises are near perfect. They keep the rooms and facilities spotless.
You can shuttle or walk to the connected resort and lay on the beach or take a boat over to Green Island to snorkel (our favorite excursion). The resort is also very close to Half Moon Bay. It's the perfect location.
The standout of the Escape though is most certainly the staff. Avella goes above and beyond to make sure that you are enjoying yourself at all times and that's no exaggeration. She'll help you with everything from where to explore on the island to arranging a special meal to be made by their wonderful chef. We can't thank her enough for everything she did for us!
Zoe was a gem too. We arrived around 11 PM after a long day of traveling and she made sure we had a delicious hot meal waiting for us. It was so appreciated! Keirah was so kind and helpful with booking the car.
I'd go through and name every person at the resort since they were all so kind and accommodating.
We can't say enough nice things about the Escape.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My boyfriend and I stayed at the Escape at Nonsuch in the first week of April for four days. From the moment we arrived, we were treated by royalty! The Escape is a brand new spin-off section of the well-established Nonsuch Bay Resort on the other side of the hill. Whereas the Nonsuch is great for families, the Escape is AH-MA-ZING for couples looking for a romantic getaway.
The resort is private and calm, split up into a row of villas that each have 4 guestrooms), culminating in a lobby/pool/bar/restaurant area with a magnificent view of over the jungle of trees and the bay. We came about a month after the Escape opened, and only four of the villas were running, so it was very quiet but we absolutely loved it.
The rooms were gorgeous - modern, comfortable, with Netflix a huge terrace that holds a sitting area, a deep soaker tup, and your own private plunge infinity pool and lounger. It was heavenly!
The food in the restaurant at The Escape was top notch, all a-la-carte, with a daily changing menu. One of the nights featured the most incredible lobster.
As a guest of the Escape, you can use the amenities (pool, restaurant, water sports, free boat ride to Green Island) at the adjoining Nonsuch Bay resort, so when we wanted a bit more activity we went there. A car comes and picks you up/ drops you off in minutes. Although I'm glad we stayed at the Escape - much more suited to a luxurious relaxing couple's holiday :)
Loved it!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The food was amazing and you feel right at home due to the fact every room is basically an apartment. Staff were so polite and new my name. Greeted me every morning whether I went to the front desk or to eat. Just an overall lovely stay.
- RK (6/5): - This property is very beautiful and the accommodations are gorgeous but unfortunately that is where great things from this resort stop. Beyond that when we checked in (a group of 6) we were continuously told incorrect information. We booked a boat cruise for the following day at 10am, then at 10am the next day we were told that boat cruise did not exist and we had to wait until 1pm to go to green island. We were told that on green island (which is beautiful) there were both beach chairs and a bar... neither of which were there. The only thing on Green Island was a cooler with 2 water bottles in it... we were 6 people so this did not really help. Food was not given throughout the day rather at very strict times. We were constantly met with attitude when requesting drinks for our group or making reservations. With all of that said David, the bartender was extremely kind as was Natasha and a few other staff members. We also took a boat tour with gadaboat (which is not affiliated with the resort) but was absolutely incredible and the best part of this trip. Bottom line is if you don't mind paying a lot for receiving the bare minimum then this place is for you. The resort itself really is beautiful it is just the amenities that are lacking. We have also stayed at Pineapple Beach Club in Antigua and if we had to choose between the two would go back to Pineapple over Nonsuch.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Nice hotel in a lovely bay. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and polite. Food was excellent. My only criticism is that the breakfast was not as good as lunch and dinner, both of which were consistently excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The views are just stunning. Property is well maintained. The couples side of the resort is fairly new and the rooms are gorgeous. Staff is very accommodating. However after 10pm. There is nothing to do other than go back to your room. There is no service or meals or snacks if you get hungry at mid night etc. Very quite and a great place to relax. Pools are great. Small beach for lounging. However there are 365 beaches to see if needed on this island. Food is delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved this resort! It was such a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was extremely clean. We didn't need anything, it was all provided for us including wonderful food and all of the drinks. Would go there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Honeymoon - A great stay as always. Very relaxing 5 days. Always a pleasure. The sailing is also great fun, which we did everyday. Also went over to The Escape (couples only side) for 1 nights dinner and it was great. Very peaceful and lovely food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful secluded suites with private pool, very kind and welcoming staff, best food and flavor consistently every day, amazing massage by Ashley.
- DR (10/5): - The staff, pools and rooms were great! My only suggestion would be to offer room service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - If you are looking for a very quiet and relaxing place, this is it!!!!
- EM (6/5): - The property was very nice and clean. Villas are nice and big.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Exceeded our expectations in every way. Love the rooms, the staff and for an all inclusive the food was amazing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautifully designed and laid out. Barefoot luxury; one fantastic restaurant and bar (plus beach bar), rather than 57 so-so ones. Impressive menu and quality. Excellent food and drink. Lovely, helpful but not suffocating staff (especially, but not only Karen and David, Schena...in fact everyone in the restaurant). The kids club staff were fantastic with our girls, who had never really been in a kids club before but loved it. Having late check-out at a reasonable cost was fantastic as our flight was late in the evening - made a huge difference. Our 3-bed suite was incredibly spacious for 3 adults and 2 kids, spotless and beautiful. Minor gripes; beach could be bigger, and the most sheltered bit of it is used for boats and kayaks, which is a bit of a shame as it does get windy at times. Perhaps they might consider having refillable water bottles on the beach and by the pools - cut down on the plastic waste. Overall, a really great resort and would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I do not think that the culture of your resort aligns with the culture of Expedia. We usually book our trips through Expedia and have never experienced what we did in your resort. We were expecting a much more diverse and inclusive environment. While we were a little bummed out when we realized this wasnât what we were getting upon arrival, we were motivated to make the best of our experience in Antigua. The issue became when our presence disturbed some of your guest and we were notified on numerous occasions of alleged complaints. I want to be very clear on how uncomfortable this made us. To be on vacation and be fully aware that the people around you are bothered by your presence, most likely because you are very different than they are, made our vacation miserable. We felt discriminated against because we were obviously different- we are not white. I must say that we never ever disrespected anyoneâs space, yet somehow your guest were bothered by us. I must reiterate that the reason why how your guest felt about us impacted our vacation is because the staff notified us of such complaints.
Being that we were so uncomfortable we started to call other resorts in the area. I suggested to administration that we should be transferred to your sister resort cocobay. However we were being charged an additional $400 a night. Given the situation, I found it to be very unfortunate that our transfer to cocobay could not be complimentary.
- Kelly (10/5): - Usually the pictures are better than the property. This was the exact opposite. It was beyond expectations, and I rarely say that.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The view and adjacent beach were great! Combination of sky and sea aren't matched by many. I thought the cleanliness and suitability of restaurant were especially sweet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were amazing, large living area, bedrooms and kitchen/dining areas. The ants are an issue, but the staff reacted quickly.
- HAROLD (6/5): - The property lacked entertainment, very quiet , bar area didn't even have background music, Folks your going to be very disappointed with the liquor/spirits selection, it consist of about 20 unknown named bottles. This place has a beautiful landscape, staff are wonderful, food selection is great, but the liquor/spirits selection is horrible. They really need to step it up in this area.. I would give it 3 stars
- Ashley (8/5): - Beautiful rooms and setting on a private beach. The water sports were excellent and well worth the price. The all-inclusive food and beverage package was also surprisingly good with lots of variety and options for those with dietary restrictions. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. TThe major drawback for this resort is that it is far from other attractions (Such as English Harbor) and the cabs are quite expensive.
- Gee (8/5): - Lovely location - hotel rooms are a bit tired but still quite lovely - it was a shame that not all of the boats were out and available for sailing - especially the catamarans.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Lots of issues. We were promised early check-in and then denied it. Room lacked AC, so we were moved to a room with a broken dishwasher, broken phone, no towels, no bottled water, no milk for coffee, no paper towels, no dish soap, broken tub, and broken shower. We asked to have the shower repaired. It was never fixed. The housekeeping was atrocious. No clean sheets. Room barely cleaned each day. Throw pillows left on the floor. We had cockroaches. Pools on property were green. Paths were overgrown.
Kids club was the best part. We loved Glenna and she was so lovely to our son, and weâre thankful for that. We also enjoyed the trip to Green Island.
- Alex (10/5): - Nonsuch was a very relaxing and accommodating place to stay for our vacation. It is quiet and the staff is very friendly, making sure to accommodate their guests. The pools are great and the food is amazing! Would highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Uniformly outstanding service
Excellent food.
Pleasant beach with watersports
- Jenn (8/5): - The hotel was like small private villas. I will say that the beach had a lot of seaweed. Didnât get in once and though itâs all inclusive, thereâs only one restaurant. Drinks were phenomenal food was okay.
- Catherine (6/5): - The service in this hotel needs a lot of improvement. I didn't feel welcomed and I felt most of the staff was rude. I also didn't like that for an all inclusive hotel the food options were very small. The food also wasn't good. We did have An amazing room with a gorgeous view which we loved but I won't ever come back here again.
- Denise (8/5): - I loved the beachfront cottages. We stayed in a two bedroom and it was lovely. So spacious and clean and tastefully decorated. Surprisingly the food for an all inclusive resort was superb. Plenty of choices and the menu kept changing. Unfortunately the beachfront was swamped with seaweed. They do their best to clean every day but it is not for bathing. However, every hour their is boat service (5 min ride) to a small island with an outstanding beach. Caribbean blue water and powder white sand. If not for this, it would have been very disappointing. I also have to mention that the staff is amazing. So friendly and accommodating!! They make u feel so welcome and know everyone by name.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Awful. And Expedia is partly to blame as well! Hotel filthy. Flies and bees dead everywhere in the room. Pretty sure it is 1 person who rated this hotel and gave the âgreatâ reviews. Was starving the entire time. No food between 2-6:30 pm. Free boat ride to green island which had NO chairs. Had just as much seaweed as hotel beach. Paid $100 to go to a different beach. Worst experience. Was on the phone with Expedia for half our trip begging for assistance! Terrible! List goes on. Will never come back
- Verified traveler (8/5): - very friendly staff. They remembered our names and our preferences. The food was excellent and varied. The resort is in a quiet area of Antigua so a taxi is required to visit other areas of the island. The staff was very helpful in arranging transportation and recommending excursions.
- NikiD (2/5): The beach is covered with seaweed!!!! - When I arrived the smell of seaweed took over! The beach was covered with seaweed and not useable. The hotel promised to take us to a beach that was gorgeous and a short boat ride from the resort. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I was disappointed with the views and there is only one restaurant. They serve the same menu two days in a row. Birds took over the dining area and were observed inside of drinking glasses. Overall, horrible stay!!
- Kim (10/5): Good food and Relaxing - Only complaint is the seaweed. Apparently May can be a bad time of the year for it. They worked hard to keep it under control but they need to come up with a better plan. Pitchforks and wheelbarrels can't keep up.
- JB (10/5): Great room and pools, best staff - We loved our visit to Nonsuch Bay. Everything was beautiful and well maintained. The pools were all amazing and exactly as they appear in photos. As were the views from the restaurant and bar.
What made the stay a 5/5 was the staff. Everyone was consistently great, especially with our baby. They went beyond what was expected. Overall, the trip was even better than anticipated.
- Susan (10/5): Beautiful resort, relaxing and secluded - It was beautiful and secluded. Great to relax and disconnect but not so great if you want to explore. The food at dinner was actually really good. Breakfast was typical and lunch wasnât bad. But dinner was really good. Very friendly accommodating staff. Beautiful location with amazing staff!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): great resort, friendly caring staff, great food - our 10 year old son had an amazing time snorkeling , sailing, kayaking and playing on the beach. we loved the food. the staff are amazing.
- Nautichef (8/5): We'll be back again and again. - Nonsuch is a heavenly all inclusive escape from the real world. We loved our room and most of the staff are wonderfully friendly and welcoming. It's a bit of an "old school" resort when it comes to meals and the food can range from delicious to mediocre, but all in all it's exactly what we need and we'll be back every year to break away from our gruelling work schedule.
- Rocky (10/5): All the reviews are true - It's a perfectly sized hotel with tons of watersports on offer but it's the location and the staff that really make this such a great place to stay. We will definitely be returning.
- S (6/5): Not worth the money. - The plus side of the resort are the large suites for families and the view. It ends there. Yes it is all inclusive but the food (except for breakfast) is generally inedible. Buffet style lunches are cold and the selections are poor. Nothing special for picky eaters. The menu for dinner is very limited and you are stuck eating at one restaurant the whole time. Service is very slow and half the staff is extremely rude! One dinner we were waited on by a security staff member who was rude, messed up our basic burger - plain orders- and took 2 1/2 hours to serve- with no bread or drinks. To leave the resort, takes a very long, expensive taxi ride (30+ mins). The store sells only a few items and closes at 5. The water sports closes at 3! The best time to sail or paddle board is when the sun is cooler in the afternoon. There are two very nice ladies working very hard at the restaurant, Karen and Shenae. Hopefully management will change things to help these ladies. The cleaning staff walks into your room without knocking at 10am and starts cleaning - even with sleeping teens!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peaceful week. - Lovely remote spot. 1 bedroom? More than we expected. Service around pool and beach could be better. Enjoyed our stay. Great for families that need space. Will go back when gym and tennis are added!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent hotel - Just returned from a weekâs stay, excellent hotel and staff. Very relaxing and quiet location.
- coastie (10/5): Very nice hotel with good amenities - Great hotel with exceptional staff that cares about your experience and ensures you have the best stay possible. Resort is a little out of the way and is a 30 min taxi drive to much of anything so my suggestion is bring some snacks or some beverages to hold you over instead of walking up and down the hill for a drink all the time. A large coffee mug is a good idea also to hold more beverage for less trips.
- Marc (10/5): The Staff Made our trip - Overall a great experience, the rooms are amazing (A Mini Villa with everything you need)
The staff is what made our two week vacation that much more enjoyable. From the chef to the waiters and entire staff, Thank you
The resort is quite and more family orientated (But also perfect to just relax)
Recommendations - Rent a car so you may explore the island there are 365 beautiful beaches that must be seen
Thank you again Nonsuch Bay

- gms (10/5): Spectacular views, wonderful stay - Secluded resort had spectacular views with hilltop location, wonderful staff and fabulous food. Includes a private beach, 3 swimming pools and a marina. Another beach on nearby green island is just a short boat ride provided by hotel. A game room would have been nice for the occasional rainy day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful rooms and grounds. Quiet and relaxing. - We received a free upgrade to a larger suite with two bedrooms and two and a half baths. Pretty amazing. The resort is modern and away from all the craziness on the West side. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. I researched every hotel on the island and was glad I chose Nonsuch. The resort does have live entertainment and a sweet BBQ.
- Michael (10/5): Great relaxing holiday - Great resort the quality of the room is exceptional. The all inclusiveness is good, but I did find it difficult to understand the full kitchen,I can only assume the original idea was for self catering. However, the site is quiet remote and so needs a car if you were finding a supermarket or other resturants if you are into water sports this is the resort for you.
A quality resort, come and have a relaxing holiday.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The best food Iâve had at an all inclusive resort. The staff went above and beyond to get us local food and drink and everyone was so friendly. The resort is relatively secluded but if youâre looking to relax and disconnect this place is for you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Overall experience for families w children 7/10 - For a family w young kids this is a good spot. the beach is shallow and they have a lot of sporting equipment to use. Ideal ages 6-10z The kids club isnât great, I felt badly leaving my children there. There werenât a lot of planned activities and although there is a lot of staff and they are friendly they didnât do a lot w kids. Wld be much better if it was a fully planned day(whatâs on the sheets often didnât happen). There is only 1 kids menu and the selections are not great. Also if staying for any length of time the adult menu gets pretty wearing given there is only 1 restaurant and the menu repeats. Overall the food they did have was ok 6-7/10. Breakfast is. Y far the best meal of the day. The rooms and very nice and the staff works hard on the grounds. The cleaning staff is excellent in the rooms. Natasha at the front is very good and very kind! Jessi was a good waiter. The sport staff seemed a bit put off by bookings and not overly friendly - going over to that area was indinidating for guests. We had friends w us w brought as we stayed at the resort before and they felt the same way.
Overall, booking it on sale itâs a good vacation spot, we had a good time. However for the price there are other resorts offering more in Antigua.
- Lachlan B Dennis (10/5): - Great spot I'd go back for sure
- J.T (10/5): Perfect beach getaway - We stayed here for one week and we couldnât be happier with our time here. We wanted a lazy week at the beach and this place is just that, with a luxuryâs touch. We did two shorter excursions on our own and the hotel helped us organize those. The atmosphere in the restaurant and bar is wonderful and food is excellent as well.
- Bonnie (4/5): Disappointment - The quality of food wasnât that good, my shower head in the shower wasnât good for use didnât spray out much, also seen a few huge cockerroaches and one smaller one was also in my handle bag when I was leaving very gross. The washer I used was spinning for a few hours. The tv didnât work the whole time was frozen. The WiFi was on and off. Management made me feel uncomfortable about my clothing when going to breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I have witness other people with similar clothing to mine receive no complaints. The last day 10/09/2017 morning the water in my suite wasnât working at all I wasnât even able bathe before going to the airport. I called about the water condition if they bring some water to my room no call returned. The dining room chairs seem like it had small mold spots on them. This stay for for the celebration of my birthday I paid over 3,000$ and I definitely donât feel like my money was well spent. Another than that Staff was very nice!
- Eugenia (10/5): NICE VILLA ON THE BEACH. - IT WAS A FASTASY VACATION, VERY CLEAN VILLA ON THE BEACH, THE FOOD WAS GREAT, THE PEOPLE MAKES THIS RESORT. I WANTED TO BRING THEM HOME WITH ME.
- Constanza (6/5): Nice rooms - Its too dar away on the atlantic side so the sea its not caribbean, the beach was full of sea weeds, the food was poor
- Alexeles (6/5): Lovely but lacking in amenities - Staff friendly, informative, helpful-really good people!!
Avoid all-incl here -too limiting w/ONE restaurant. Great restaurants & fun in English Harbor & St Johns-30 min away &totally worth the trip, or staying elsewhere, to enjoy more of Antigua!
Food 3.5/5. Great view. Very limited menu &really small portions, by any (not just American) standards. Dinner menu changes every 2 nights; bfast & lunch-limited buffets; required to make reservations for lunch & dinner (restrictive on vacation, esp. for lunch); not many healthy choices, music they played was awful, except for Thu bbq night-excellent food, live local music. Only snacks, drinks other than meals is what's available @ the tiny store-$$ and very minimal choices; resort put outs tiny sandwiches afternoons. Bar really nice, very small, drinks good.
Limited activities. No workout facility; we ran repeatedly up/down same paths, hills in/around small grounds. Amazing view, especially from "development" above resort, but very little running/walking area if you want to work out. Beach area-small, no umbrellas-not enough trees to make up for that.
Pools -beautiful, but small. No pool/beach towel svce-towels in your rooms&you have to exchange them (@ front desk). No way to dry them (humidity prevents it in house). Drink (not food) service @pools/beach. No music @ beach/pools.
Townhouse lovely- spacious, and clean. No warm/hot water for 2+ days,& refrig leaked - had to call maintenance a few times before these were fixed.
- Bethesda Mom (10/5): Perfect destination wedding venue - Intimate resort, friendly staff, good water sport facilities, tasty food and delicious cocktails.
- Richard (10/5): Wonderful.Also good for trips to Half Moon , sites - Everyone looks at the best and worst reviews so let us deal with the points from the bad reviews;
"There is only a dirt road to the property". Not so, the last few miles were paved with concrete last year, meaning that there is now a good ,wide fast road with mongooses and humming birds.
"The Hotel is Miles from anywhere- a huge taxi ride just to get there". The resort is on the West coast , a 40 minute drive from the airport. You can get a taxi and just stay at the resort or rent a car (Avis lines a bit slow). This will allow you to sea more of the beaches and sites. Some people rent a car and still chill out at the resort anyway.
"Bad service". The opposite is true. The service is wonderful; breakfast and dinner ladies at 7 or 8 stars or more !, room impeccably tidy. All just wonderful.
"Not all inclusive". What is this person talking about? We stayed almost a week and our final bill was ....$6 for washing powder from the shop. It included all meals and our soft drinks from the bar. We could not get near to eating the three meals included with the very reasonable cost. We never had lunch. The very full breakfast buffet had changes every day and the dinner menu changes every two days with a barbecue on Wednesday. Restaurant (of course) open every day.
"Not clean"..."Bird droppings in the restaurant". See above- room kept 100% clean. The restaurant is open air and has yellow birds, black birds, finches and humming birds coming through. Wonderful. No mess seen.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The friendliest staff ever!!!!
The rooms was great and the food was delicious.
- Ale (10/5): Nonsuch bay - Our trip to nonsuch bay was great, from the moment we got picked up from the airport to when we were drop off. Staff is great and make you feel comfortable and welcome. The room was huge, clean, and very well equipped. The beach was nice, and the pools had a nice view of the bay (both pools were cold though). We took a trip to green island for snorkeling and relaxing, it was great, but I recomend bringing some umbrella/parasol for a shade. The food was great with a nice variety of meal items. I personally LOVED the mojitos!
- Heather-Gail (8/5): Anniversary Celebration.. - We had a fabulous time and was especially appreciative of the service provided by the wait staff, from the time of arrival until departure.
- Tags (8/5): Limitations - Nonsuch Resort is beautiful. You would not be disappointed with the size of your accommodations, they are spacious and beautiful.
The limiting factors are:- food choices as there is only one restaurant for the entire resort. If you are a vegetarian or vegan your choice is one item. Buffet style was limited and so were the choices; disappointing. However the staff are friendly and accomadating. There is no night time entertainment. Their children's club is a small room that does not offer more than a baby sitting service. They have no structured programs for the children. For a large Resort they have no gym.
The Resort has a fairly good selection of water sports for the family.
English habour and Shirley Heights is a must see. Taxis service from the Resort is an added cost but it is worth it and so convenient. The taxis drivers were great and very safe drivers.
- Stephanie (10/5): Beautiful Resort, great amenities - We stayed in the deluxe suite and it was spacious, clean, and had any and all amenities you would need. Only negative was the wifi does not reach to the bedroom or bathroom, so if for example you are keeping your phone in airplane mode and only utilizing the wifi for data you would need to be in the common areas. But other that that everything was fantastic, staff was warm and friendly and the resort was luxurious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely picturesque upscale resort - This resort is perfect for those who want to relax and unwind with mostly couples and few children when we stayed late Feb/early March
The only activities are water sports-
There is no gym and only one restaurant currently, although there are plans to expand, and not much to do in the evenings after dinner except visit the small lobby bar
The food was excellent, better than we have experienced on most other islands
The landscaping is lovely and small beach easily accessible , which never seemed too crowded
There are several pools which could prove challenging to anyone middle age or older as there are no safety handrails. Also none in the bathroom
by the jacuzzi tub
The one bedroom deluxe oceanfront suite was lovely, upscale and well equipped. Full kitchen if you did not want to eat all meals at the restaurant.
Comfortable king bed
The one downside- too many birds
in the open air dining area at breakfast and lunch (they do not seem to come in the evening)
I was pooped on during one meal and
they chairs and cushions are stained with bird poop, needing to be wiped down often. They annoyingly wait for you to make a trip to the buffet and will then move in on anything left on your table, including your water
and other beverages
We discussed this with management
and suggested that they set up a bird feeding station away from the dining area
They assured us that they would be taking steps to deal with this problem
Overall a lovely place to visit
- Tigger (10/5): great staff. Nothing was a problem. - Sailed as much as we wanted. Food was fantastic Can't wait to go back
- Darren (10/5): Winter Sun in Carib - Hotel overall , absolutely fantastic, I would definitely stay here again, we had 7 day break, AI , very quite tranquil resort, not resort if you want to party or even have a drinking session really, just chill out, this would be hard to beat.
A little entertainment through evening wouldn't go a miss though!
Overall rating 8.5/10
- vanessa (10/5): - Great location, wonderful staff, fun and engaging kids club
- Jim (10/5): Large rooms great staff, windy side of the island - We had a very nice stay at Nonsuch Bay Resort. The rooms are very large and well appointed. Our beach side suite had a full kitchen, huge deck, and strong amenities such as A/C, WiFi and cable TV. Our room came stocked with bottled water, soft drinks, wine, beer and 5 year rum. The food and drink were well above average, staff are very attentive. Water sports are comprehensive however during the time we were there it was very windy so only the large sail boats were viable for most sailors. The beach on this Atlantic side resort was not as spectacular as the beaches on the Caribbean side, we had a rental car and most days we drove the 45 minutes to different beach spots. Very nice resort, just a bit remote from some of the islands other spots.
