Guest Reviews
- Martina (9/5): Would certainly stay there again. - The location was ideal for us; straight across from Wandsworth Town railway station. The room was very well appointed and very quiet which was a pleasant surprise considering the closeness to the train station and the pub attached to the hotel. We had a very good meal in the restaurant . Staff were all very professional and helpful.
- Holly (8/5): We loved the hotel and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely recommend and will be staying again. - Location and friendly staff. We stayed in room 2. It was a little noisy in the morning.
- Richard (10/5): Just perfect - Location, service and comfort was perfect Nothing

- Sally (8/5): GREAT everything with a perfect location! - Location, staff, excellent food…frankly everything! Shoutouts for Ernest and especially Somya for making us feel extra welcomed. 💟 Nothing
- Sohee (10/5): Wonderful and comfortable stay in London. Will come again! - Beautiful and comfortable rooms. Super clean. Good pub attached. Tube station across the street.
- Pierre (10/5): Pleasant and comfortable stay - Location pleasant staff
Comfortable and good size room N/A
- Gemma (10/5): Perfection - Amazing stay at The Alma… I don’t know where to begin, gorgeous room, perfect for me and the pooch. Great food, both in restaurant and in room dining. Lovely amenities for my little dog. With a lovely welcome gift and treat for me too! Amazing staff! Can’t wait to book my next stay! Nothing
- Hilary (8/5): Another excellent stay but this time tinged with a bit of disappointment - The room was great, the service from hotel staff excellent, the price too. The pub bit was a huge disappointment. They first tried to fob me off with a pint of best bitter that was cloudier than the cloudiest cloudy IPA, and tasted like s$~r p¥#s (I have had to use my imagination there). They then announced that all cask ales were off. The bar staff were unapologetic.
Trouble is, we chose to stay at The Alma owing to memories of many happy nights (and some days too) drinking there when it was one of the finest Youngs pubs, and over that maybe 20 years I don’t recall ever having a bad pint. I know times have changed, but disappointment that taints such a treasured memory will always sting, hence the mark down.
No complaints whatsoever about the hotel side though.
- Andrea (8/5): Nice rooms at reasonable price - Location close to station and amenities.
Comfortable bed, clean stylish room. The bed quilt was far to heavy and the room was to hot.
- chris (10/5): - Private and spacious Breakfast never started on time

- Jean (8/5): Great place, nice welcome, I'll go back. - Great team, good ambiance and genuine caring about clients
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Lovely decor. Great village feel location. Right across the road from the train station The lighting (downward spotlights) is tricky for anyone wanting to apply make up.
There was a little private communal patio for three rooms where a formidable dog performed a comprehensive biological evacuation. We had to inform the guest and ask him to clean up.

- Anne (10/5): Really surprised how good this establishment was and I can definitely recommend this hotel. a - Although the property was part of a pub it had a separate entrance, it had good facilities, including air conditioning and was not noisy and was immaculately clean. Breakfast was lovely and varied options to suit everyone. Really good value for money I can definitely recommend this hotel Really couldn’t fault anything - staff could not have been more helpful and the rooms were spacious and bed comfortable
- Hazel (9/5): Comfortable and clean - Comfy bed Stairs
- Lynne (8/5): Comfortable stay in a great location. - Central location. Room and bathroom were a very good size. Clean. Furniture was a bit dated and worn but it didn’t spoil our stay. Bed and bed linen was very clean and comfortable. Initially seeing the worn/stained furniture.
No view!
- Raisa (10/5): Perfect stay! - We loved every single moment we have spent at Alma hotel! We traveled with a 1.3 yo child and it was amazing. Service was outstanding, cleaning ladies, restaurants staff, reception, girls boys we love you 🫶 location is also great, easy to get to the center by public transportation. What I forgot, hmm food 10 out 10, bar in the evening - top!!! Cleanliness - top! ah and the design, love love love! Highly recommended! Very good value for money 💜

- John (10/5): The Alma was close to Wimbledon tennis - perfect location, good transport links, v. enjoyable stay - We were generally quite happy with our stay at the hotel and would definitely try you again if we needed to be in the area. I felt the prices for the dinner and breakfast were on the high side and if I did stay with you again I think I would seek alternatives for our meals
- Sophie (8/5): - Room 12 is very noisy with kitchen/restaurant ventilation outlet right under the window
- Edward (8/5): -
- James (10/5): Excellent - Room was so spacious with a lovely cosy deco and big bathroom. Classic FM was playing on entry which was a nice touch and the bed was so comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wished I could have stayed longer. Nothing really! loved it.

- Hans (9/5): Lovely and friendly place - Very comfortable and lovely towels and bedding Nothing
- Clare (10/5): -
- Duncan (10/5): - This was the most beautiful and classy room we have stayed in, in London. It was also perfectly located, directly opposite the train station. It wasn’t cheap but good value nonetheless.
- Fiona (9/5): - Really comfortable room, love the extra touches like the sweet treats on arrival, fresh milk and a proper coffee machine.
- charles (9/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): A cosy, welcoming stay with great food and genuinely lovely staff – I’d happily come back - The room was genuinely lovely – cosy, beautifully done and so comfortable, it felt like a little retreat. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which really set the tone for the stay. The food was also a highlight; really nice, comforting and exactly what you want from a great pub with rooms. Honestly, nothing to fault – we had a really nice experience.
- Anna (10/5): - Excellent location, fantastic rooms, lovely staff.
Very quiet day and night. Nothing
- Ben (9/5): Convenient check in, great time will be returning - Considering the location to a vibrant and busy pub and train station the room was very private and quiet, we loved the room design. Shower floor filled quickly resulting in wet feet when using toilet in the night
- Jack (9/5): -
- Alan (8/5): -
- Jaime (7/5): -
- Emil (10/5): Great place, would stay again - Very well designed, quiet, comfortable, and clean rooms. I had no noise from the street and no noise from the restaurant. Restaurant is very good (and popular) for dinner and breakfast. Bed was large and comfortable. Big desk, bathtub. Friendly and fast help from all staff.
- Diana (9/5): -
- Krister (8/5): Mycket bra. - Underbart rum med fantastisk säng. Svårt få sittplats i puben, borde som boende fått förtur.
- Vanessa (7/5): Very smart room, pretty pub, pricey. - Nice breakfast, limited choice if you don't eat eggs, but lovely room and nice coffee. Comfy beds, gorgeous decor, peaceful. Room wasn't cleaned on second day, reception area not professional, more like a staff room. Tired staff eating meals, chatting, very casual. Lad painting doorframes in reception, not smart entrance due to scaffolding etc
- jason (10/5): - Atmosphere, reception staff were excellent. Room was excellent Aircon difficult to use, room was too hot.
- Jun (10/5): -
- Alison (9/5): -
- Ben (10/5): - Fabulous food and atmosphere. Felt very welcome.
- Simon (10/5): - Comfortable rooms which are a nice size. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Svein Ole (8/5): - Fin atmosfære. Bra rom. Utmerket å bo på en pub og restaurant. Svært lite støy til å være på et pubhotel i en storby. Anbefales

- Fiona (8/5): Very comfortable and well appointed rooms - Love staying at the Alma (& its sister Youngs hotels), great location and excellent service. The rooms are beautiful, very well equipped, with super comfy beds, coffee machines and beautiful toiletries and I love the extra touches, such as fresh milk, a welcome card and shortbread! Would highly recommend. Despite being a busy pub, the rooms are quiet - always a bonus in London. Small thing but having bedside lights that can just light up the direct area next to each side of the bed would be appreciated.
- elsa (10/5): Un séjour parfait - Les chambres sont sublimes et très propre, l’équipement est impeccable!
- Lucie (9/5): -
- Ian (10/5): -

- Deborah (9/5): Great stay . Quiet room in a great location - Great location opposite the station .
The room was really quiet and we had the best nights sleep in London ever. Clean and comfortable .
The room was lovely. The bed comfy and linen high quality . Great bathroom with lovely complimentary products .
Great location with lots of cafes on the street and great places to eat.
- Mary (10/5): Very pleasant place to stay, would happily stay again. - Great location. Room was clean and modern. Staff very polite and friendly. Would like to have had more than 2 tea bags in the room, although the selection for coffee and tea was good.
- Mukupa (8/5): - The location, very central and near the train station. The staff in the hotel and the restaurant were very helpful and polite. The prices in the mini bar😀
- christopher (9/5): - Lovely little hotel. Directly across from Wandsworth town station . Excellent facilities , clean , friendly staff, excellent breakfast Didn’t like leaving our luggage as it didn’t seem secure , was left in a corridor which people had easy access to
- Marianne (8/5): -
- Grant (10/5): The Alma - My go-to pub/place to stay in London - It's always a great stay at The Alma - luxury boutique hotel rooms attached to a pub, what more could you want. Make sure you try the full English breakfast. Great location too. I've stayed here many times, it's my go-to London hotel.
- David (8/5): -
- Gail (8/5): Lovely hotel in great location - Location was excellent - lots of cafes and restaurants around and opposite the tube station. We were there to play padel and the club was five minutes walk away. The bath didn’t have safety rails and the lighting by the large mirror was very dim.
- Martina (9/5): - Very cosy pub, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, a great place to stay in London.
- Antje (10/5): -
- Rita (10/5): Lovely little find- great location will definately stay agsin- nice area - Style, quality - lovely cozy friendly atmosphere

- Ingi (9/5): We were pleased to be able to walk to the Thames and the Train station near by. - The staff went beyond what was expected.
Very friendly and always in a good mood. The entrance to the Alma was not inviting .
Someone could ask the people who occupy the glassed in space to clean and tidy up.
The Pub entrance was far more inviting
