Guest Reviews
- Rungarun (2/5): - I don't like every thing.
- Koki (2/5): - not clean, not enough facilities
- Ulises (4/5): - The property does not look anything at all like the pictures. The images on Expedia are from when the Hotel was built and do not represent in any way or form the current state of the property which is now run down and seems to not have been maintained in years. The staff (women) are friendly and helpful but I cannot say the same for the males working there since they are not welcoming at all and will completely ignore a good day or Good afternoon..
I wish I could post some of the pictures I took which include yellow sweat and body fluid stains on the pillows, black mold around the entire bathroom, broken toilet and toilet paper dispenser among others....For health and safety reasons PLEASE AVOID YOUR STAY HERE....
- Tunnis (8/5): - Er is geen zwembad . Ook de tuk tuk service ontbreekt . Wel een keuken , maar geen pannen . Ruime kamer , nette badkamer , en aardig personeel .
- Terry (4/5): - Room has seen better days. Shower was very weak and maybe got hot water for 30 seconds. Bed was comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Es gibt viel für kleines Budget - Preis Leistung absolut ok
- Thomas (2/5): Terrible hotel - Terrible hotel. The first room i Got had spunch because of a water damage. The old lady receptionist was rude when i asked for another room and asked me why i did not say something before? Sell the reason i did not say something from start was my eyes starts hitting cause of the spunch and that happens after an while.
- jerome (6/5): - Very bad bed quailty same about pillows.. i had 2 bad nighths but staf is nice.. and they wanted to charge twice more for 1 more night. Never mind u lose a customer
- jinky (10/5): Good hotel - Good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very convenient location! Great room clean up daily
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- victor (10/5): - Everything was good. Helpful reception with great service mind.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Patrick (8/5): - This was the second time I stayed here, Large spacious rooms. The staff very nice. The rooms very clean. Quiet. At the end of a soi. Good exercise walking to the main street. A tuk-tuk is provided free by the hotel. The water pressure is better on the lower floors. It's an older hotel, it has good security. Decent price for budget minded travelers. The pool is shaded by next door 50 story buildings. I walked every day to Sukhumvit Road and nearby BTS & MRT (sky train & underground)
- Patrick (8/5): - It was nice and quiet at the end of a soi. I found it very clean and the staff was very nice. It's a bit of a walk to the main steet, but there was a free tuk tuk. Only the hot water was a problem. Very short periods at a time. The pool on the roof is shaded by tall buildings. Very nice and pleasant staff.
- Silverfox (8/5): - Good value hotel near 10 minutes walk from Terminal 21 Mall on Sukhumvit.Small but good pool.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Just average hotel. Outdated and off in a side street. Dirty pool without any pool furniture. Staff was friendly! Hard mattress!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok - The hotel is located in a really good position, close to restaurants, bars and shops and only a short walk away from the BTS. I stayed in a deluxe room which was very spacious and had quite a large balcony. Bed was very comfortable but the aircon was always too cold and could not be adjusted. Bathroom looked ok but I didn’t get any hot water during my stay. Room did luck a bit in cleanness. It offers a safe a a good size fridge. It was ok to stay for only a couple of nights but I have stayed in better hotels around the area for the same price so I don’t think I will rush back to this hotel.
- Gary (8/5): Ok for the price. - Photos on internet must be from 10 years ago, everything is a bit old and needs some TLC, but everything works and the bed in comfortable and is in a quiet location off the road.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Intermittent hot water and uncleaned bed sheets - The hot water was not working for the shower and when I asked the staff at the hotel, she replied me that it is normal for the hot water to be irregular. Bed sheets were also unchanged even after the housekeeping team had came in. Water flow for the shower was also irregular, where it suddenly lessen and then go back to normal.
- Elsy (2/5): - Reception is not friendly.
- Tuomas (8/5): Good value for money - This hotel is has great location and Asok BTS is easily accessed. There are also great local restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but it's still good value for money. Staff was very friendly and their transportation to the BTS worked well.
- Lars (8/5): Ok til prisen - Udmærket til prisen, men dårlig wifi.
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Don (8/5): My stay at Icheckinn - This residence is located right in the heart of the tourist district of Bangkok. Easy walking distance to the restraints and night life. Overall a reasonable priced hotel with friendly staff, would recommend to other Expedia clients.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location, good value, but a bit 'tired' looking and need of upgrade (particularly pool area)
- Don (8/5): Nice hotel for the budget Traveller. - I stayed at this hotel for one night as a standby hotel. I was surprised and pleased with the staff and how clean the room was. I will definitely stay at this hotel in future as a standby for my regular hotel.
- Jonas (8/5): Easy and comfy - Had an exceptional night at iCheck Inn. Friendly and clean.
- Michael (10/5): Nice - Very nice and affordable. Great coffee shop near by.
- bradley (10/5): Nice balcony and roof top pool - Had a lovely stay at icheck inn no problems great rooms and lovely staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - great pool, close to good street food and air train
- Nanda (2/5): Avoid it! - Room was musky and old
Shower was inconsistent
Bed was moderately softer than a slab of cement
WiFi was poor
- michael (10/5): rest and relax in sukumvit - great place for a good rest in sukumvit at an affordable price - very helpful staff - easy to access skytrain and metro from asok stations
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quiet place, horrible bed - Box spring bed. I asked if we could get another room for a better bed and front desk said that all beds are the same and many customers complain that their back hurts. At least she was honest and nice..... Another thing, they changed the name to icheck inn. (that would have helped to know from the beginning)
- Verified traveler (8/5): good - good
- Verified traveler (2/5): No longer named the privacy suites and location - No longer named Privacy Suites. Supposed to be 4 min walk from terminal 21 and is now 25 min the opposite way and called icheck inn. I spent 2.5 hrs walking back and forth in the rain trying to locate it with the address Expedia and google provided and it's an abandoned building. Bed was massively sagging in the middle and felt like concrete, and located way down an alley full of massage parlours. Complained at desk about not updating their website and the girl at the counter knew almost no English and couldn't understand why I was so upset.
- Fa Hien (8/5): Quiet place close to international restaurants - This is my third visit here. Will repeat.
Close to a host of restaurants: German, Swiss, Dutch, Mexican, Upscale Japanese Fusion, Italian, Indian etc. A 15 min walk to the Asok train station but they have a tuk-tuk that is available that takes you to the main road, cutting your time in half.
On my first two visits, the staff were execptionally welcoming, full of smiles. On this visit, there were different staff and they were business-like, but nothing to complain about.
- Fa Hien (10/5): Quiet hotel but long walk to main road - I have been pleased with the hotel on multiple visits. The staff have been great. Note that human beings are nice to you if you are nice to them. If you return their smile, you will get more.
They do have a tuktuk service that is easily available to take you to the main road.
They have some good international restaurants close to the hotel. German, Swiss, Italian, Mexican, fusion Japanese etc.
- Gary (8/5): Nice - Nice small hotel, name was different than on site
- Fa Hien (8/5): Good, but for a 15 min walk to BTS - I had good stay. Will repeat.
Pros:
Decent sized rooms, clean
Friendly staff
Quite a few restaurants near by, offering a variety of food including German, Japanese fusion etc.
No trouble with wifi in my room
Cons:
A bit of a walk from BTS, but they do have a tuk-tuk service to the main-road
The hot water was alternate between cold and hot; quite frustrating. I didn't even try to use the tub.
Others have mentioned that noises from the neighboring room can be heard. I cannot disagree but got lucky with a corner room.
The kitchenette is adequate. It is basic and comes with 2 sets of plates, cereal bowls, forks and spoons. But no knives and certainly none for cutting fruit for example. But this is consistent with my experience with a number of hotels in Bangkok. Although I wish things were better, I cannot ding them for any shortcomings.
- Erik (8/5): Nice apartment like hotel, quiet surroundings - The hotel is a modern-style hotel situated at the bottom of a sub-soi off soi 20, where it’s quit during nighttime. Good sleeping-quality. Convenience stores and many restaurants nearby. The hotel offers a free tuk-tuk service down to Sukhumvit road during daytime. Staff is friendly and service-minded. Small rooftop pool with sun until early afternoon. My room was functional and comfortable, with nice décor, and with a small useful kitchenette. Cleaning was excellent. I really enjoyed my stay here, and I would clearly recommend this place. Please note that the hotel now is named ‘Icheckinn Residences’.
- Chan Wah Kiat (8/5): Accessibility not very good - Finding the hotel was a difficult task. The address given as Asok Montri Rd, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand on Google map which is seriously wrong. The correct address is 140 Sukhumvit Soi 20 Bangkok, Phra Khanong, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand. The rest of the hotel service was still great other than walking in to the hotel from the main road.
- Michael (8/5): Privacy Suites - Not sure I understand all the comments about the staff not being friendly, I found them to be very nice. For the price the hotel is very much value for money. Even though it is fairly close to sukhumvit it is very quiet due to its location down a small side street with no noisy bars close by to keep you awake. I will stay there again the next time I am in Bangkok.
- david (6/5): small hotel with two different names!! - great room once they switched me t a better/superior one...
Beds are very hard as a bench
but overall OK value for 1000thb
good neighborhood
a bit hard to find tucked away in side soi off 20
would probably stay again....
- Phil (8/5): - Good value. Pool small but ok.
Hard beds.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not too bad - Short weekend stay. Clean room with Balcony, which was nice. Extra key cost additional 500 Baht deposit. Aircon had a hard time keeping the room cool on the top floor. May be better on lower floors. Overall, an OK price for what was provided, but better deals can be found.
- Dalle (6/5): Nice hotel - Don't get fooled by seeing kitchenette facility. It's of no use.
Located in peaceful area but stinky alleys. Free tuk tuk to the main road. Room very good. convenience stores and lots of eatery nearby. Wish they had restaurant. Is it normal in Thailand that staffs don't response you properly or is it only us. We have had cold response from almost every hotel we stayed. They never replied even when we said Hi or bye. Night receptionist was cold and unfriendly. She never smiled, once I said goodnight to her but she just gave me a stare. I am very confused.
- paul (6/5): Ok but could have been better - Stayed here 3 nights, hotel staff friendly location ok quite long walk to asok bts,the one thing I realy did not like about this hotel was the walls where paper thin you could here every sound guy next to me banged around till 1 in the morning so hard to sleep, I would not stay here again, yes price ok but iv stayed many other hotel in bkk and this ones nothing special.
- Diana (10/5): love the stay - Staffs were kind and helpful. Prices of the hotel is affordable!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant stay - Hotel is very neat and clean. Staff is little rude but that doesnt matter.
- Verified traveler (8/5): very comfy, great value, quiet retreat in sukumvit - hotel is in quiet area of upscale residences and middling hotels, with reasonable mini-markets, and street food options near by ... my room was very comfortable with stove top, microwave and fridge, king size bed was a good and easy sleep. staff all very nice. excellent retreat from bangkok.
- Amit Kumar (8/5): I check inn or privacy suites - Fantastic hotel at good price.. But staff is rude intact we were asked to wait for the check inn for 1 hour. But the property is good and in a nice area.. So overall good
- MANOJ KISHIN (8/5): Great for budget stays. - Overall a great hotel choice for budget travelers. Convenient, equipped with the basic amenities and a little extra. Attentive and warm service. Recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place with a central location - Nice hotel with a good roof top pool. This place was a little difficult to find at first, due to it being located down a small side alley. Other than that the staff is very friendly and overall the hotel is a great value for what you pay. The room came with a large, comfortable bed and private balcony. There was also a full functioning kitchen and small fridge. The bathrooms were also very nice. I would stay here again and also have recommended others to give it a try.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed for 5 nights and are staying in mid range accommodation. The room was good. Clean, balcony, floor to ceiling windows, black out curtains, quiet, small pool but a nice touch in a big city. Bathroom was large and clean. Only a few not so
Good things. Very hard bed, 10
Minute walk to train/sky rail/ no cooking facilities but kitchenette advertised. But I think for this price the walk is to be expected.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Guest friendly - The hotel is so guest friendly.Love the receptionist service. Will go back again
- Milla (10/5): great - VERY nice 5 nights.....we enjoyed the apt and location. Thanks
- nick (10/5): Nice hotel in city - Littile inside street
but ok have tuktuk so easy to get
room is fine ,bathroom is good
- crazywisdom (8/5): Great standard hotel. - Everything was great about the room and the hotel in general. Staff was great and very helpful. The only critical comment I could add is that the air conditioning was a bit too strong even at its lowest level. I had to leave the patio door slightly open in order to not freeze in the middle of the night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean Room - Stayed for two nights. This hotel gives a home feeling.
- Brian k. (10/5): apartment-like hotel in a quiet location - i stayed there for 3 nights, and it was a great experience. the staff was very nice and helpful. the room was comfortable and clean for the price. it is 10 minutes walk from sukhumvit main road, but no big deal, and you can always use the hotel's tuk-tuk.
- Michael (8/5): - Facilities: Room above avg for price; Value: Affordable, Inexpensive, Economical; Service: Good, Low staff but no issues; Cleanliness: Fine;
DVD player added to room would be an advantage. Hot water broke down but was fixed promptly and alternate room was also offered.
- russ (8/5): Good hotel - I choose this place because of the price combined with the star rating in a quiet setting and I wasn't disappointed. It has friendly staff and a good quiet room. It is about a 15 minute walk from the Asok station. The on site tok tok driver can take you there almost anytime. I enjoyed the extra walking and was pleasantly surprised to find the activity on soi 22 just around the corner so I didn't have to walk far if I didn't want to. Had Fox TV so I watched the NFL game and some Hockey games on another station.
- Tati (8/5): Quite place and good for the price - We stop in Bkk for 2 nights it is a good 3 stars hotel for the price you pay what you get is fine. The location is not in town but it is close to a tube station and the ticket cost 20 pence pp so accesible price. It is in a small street so very good to rest from the noisy city. The staff were very friendly with a descent level of english and they were very kind with my 3 years old daughter.
In general i think that the hotel, staff, facilities and location is fine for the price you pay (23 pounds/day)
- Meg (10/5): Well Priced, Good Location! - The hotel was slightly in the interior lanes with a small display board on footpath indicating the lane but overall, we were very happy with the location as it is surrounded by quiet residential apartments and homes and still within the city. Within walking distance to the train lines, very well kept rooms, very friendly staff, good location and well priced!
- Mrs. Hon (8/5): Home feel hotel - Nice and Warm Hotel, worth to stay again.
- Malakai (10/5): Great spot - Great stay. Great spot, excellent location close to anything you'd need - bars, restaurants, clubs, shopping malls, supermarket etc.
Friendly hospoitable staff , think they got a bit over us though cus we were a bit loose.
Definite recomendation.
- john (6/5): Comfortable but the photos overstate it - Its a reasonably comfortable stay here and is quiet and private (so aptly named). The rooms are small, the bed is a bit hard, and the breakfast a little average, but its cheap and cheerful, staff are very friendly and its located on soi 20 which is very convenient soi, and it is nice and quiet on an otherwise busy and noisy street. Overall: satisfied but not sure would stay there again
- Jarrod (8/5): Family Fun - This is a good value for money, comfortable hotel. It is at the end of an alley at the very end of Soi 20. The Soi is good, somewhat upmarket with a number of Lamborghini cruising past. Good local restaurants. The staff didn't really go out of there way or try to help so I would encourage those who are familiar with the area to stay and those who need more support to look elsewhere. Good room small kitchen, nice balcony.
- greem (8/5): Calm & small - Nice option for a couple - 'the Privacy Suits' have everything for a good vacation. Few days or weeks at this residence - doesn't matter and a pool on a roof could be the best moment in Bangkok.
- Gemeaux (8/5): A Hidden Haven... - The Privacy Suites is exactly like its name suggested, an unassuming little boutique hotel tucked away from Sukhomvit's bustling shopping belt (hmm..perhaps a little too hidden?). Ideal for those who loves to explore and walk around, but those who don't...fret not as there is Privacy Suite's very own Tuk Tuk to zip you around..Location aside, the room is designed like a studio apartment with a warm homely feel. Staffs are mostly friendly and helpful. My stay was a short one and it was a satisfying one.
- Kevin (6/5): - Not bad over all but the showers are not very good. Hot cold, hot cold, high pressure low pressure, etc etc.
- Daryl (8/5): Central location and great rooms - Hotel staff very friendly, the 2 women I dealt with always had a smile on their faces and I was upgraded to a junior suite on arrival as they had sold all of the standard rooms. I wasn't complaining! Tuk Tuk service to Asok was a bonus too as the walk down Soi 20/18 can start to be a pain. Only complaint is I thought the floor could have been a bit cleaner in the room. After walking from the bathroom to my bed a considerable amount of dust had gathered and was visible on my bright white duvet cover. Cable TV had all of the sport I wanted to see on and this was perfect as I was relaxing in the room on a nightly basis before heading back home after a 9 week back packing tour.
- Verified traveler (8/5): New boutique hotel - It was nice overall. The room was clean and nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): As average as average gets - Reading the reviews on TripAdvisor I think my expectations were a little bit too high. Overall very average for the price and at now the bottom of my list of hotels in BKK.
Pros:
It's relatively near Sukhumvit and Asok BTS.
32inch LCD with accessible HDMI connections.
Cons:
The mattress was carved from granite.
The shower alternates every 15 seconds between scalding and freezing.
