• Mobile40278642199 (6/5): Simple - We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately the bed was rather uncomfortable we had two single mattresses pushed together but they were at different heights so not ideal. The Jacuzzi shower in the en-suite is really small and not suitable to have a comfortable shower in. The most disappointing thing was our room was close to the reception which was quite noisy at times including early hours of the morning it was either people talking or what sounded like deliveries and boxes being opened so we didn’t sleep great throughout our stay. The breakfast was tasty but the room was so small and felt a little uncomfortable when the room was full. The best thing about the hotel is the roof terrace which is a nice place to escape to after the hustle and bustle of the city. We didn’t go in the hot tub but it didn’t look overly clean from what we saw. The location is close to the shops, restaurants and the port. The hotel is clean and simple and makes a good base for Naples but I would only recommend staying if the price was good value at the time of booking.

The room was really well equipped, very clean and the shower was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great views across the city from the rooftop bar. Breakfast was nice, with a good selection. Yes, the hotel is tucked away and the lift isn’t big, but it isn’t an issue at all, 2 of us fitted in easily with a big case. It was nice not to be in a big format hotel in the city.

Ours did, our son's looked on to path way around hotel. Staff were all lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast wasn't great.. 3 out of 4 mornings the bacon, eggs, sausages were stone cold since the warming plate wasn't turned on. Hate saying negatives since the staff were lovely but feel it's important to be honest.. We probably should've said re cold food at breakfast how've decided just to have cereal with yogurt (no milk for cereal).. I imagine the rooftop area is a great place to relax, if you have time.. We didn't. Location 10/10 Staff 10/10 Room 7/10 Breakfast 5/10 Overall I give 4/5 stars because of location and staff.

• 186darrenw (2/5): Bad experience - We recently stayed at hotel after departing a cruise we booked mainly because of reviews and pics. Do not be fooled the hotel is situated up a allyway very dark and access to get in very bad after dark there is a very poor lift you cannot fit 2 people in with cases no one to help or advise this is the only lift very dirty and corroded. Once you get its more like a BB the room is very basic not the cleanest and certainly no amenities not in our room that was supposed to be deluxe ,access and steps everywhere and poor lighting. As for rooftop nothing like pics its a dirty jacuzzi very small and sitting area that is not cleaned and in poor condition plus a very poor spiral staircase up. Breakfast very basic The price we paid 280 euro for 1 night was discussing for what i class as a basic BB better hotels around

• jbV3256AZ (10/5): Great location for comfortable hotel - We were in Naples for 2 nights at the start of a 2 week trip to Italy. It was a great start. the hotel reached out to us almost a month prior to arrival to confirm. They offered a car service to get from the airport which was very helpful. It was probably a bit more expensive than a taxi but it was easy and convenient. The hotel is just off the square in front of the port. Very convenient to shopping and a multitude of food option. The staff at the front desk and at breakfast were all very friendly and accomodating. The room was a little on the small side, but overall comfortable. The rooftop hot tub and chairs were a great place to close the day. We were overall very happy with La Ciliegina and felt we got good value. Would happily return.

• samanthal302 (10/5): A true gem in Naples! - I travelled solo to Naples, and I researched a lot of hotels and in the Naples area and this unique luxurious boutique hotel ticked all the boxes, importantly safety as a solo female traveller. It ticked all the boxes, I genuinely could not fault a thing! Everything I needed was in the room and hotel. It was clean, a lovely well-appointed room, tea/coffee maker with cups and spoons and amenities, hair dryer, toiletries, air conditioning that worked perfectly, comfortable bed(they use Hastens beds/mattresses well known for comfort). They have an excellent buffet breakfast, wholesome and a variety of hot and cold choices, served on the rooftop with excellent views of Mount Vesuvius, the port, right up to the monastery Certosa di San Martibo on Vomero Hill. Alsedea and Salvadore were two lovely and courteous staff that served breakfast and coffee with a smile. They remembered details too which was impressive! They also have a jacuzzi on the rooftop too which is enjoyable at the end of a full day of sight seeing. The hotel is very central, convenient, and on a safe, well-lit, surrounded by restaurants and cafes, but not too crowded, Piazza Municipio square. The Muncipio Metro is just a 2 minute walk from the hotel too. The staff always make the stay that much more better and they excelled here! Isra, Francesco, and Andrea were always there to assist, suggest, recommend, and care for the guests. They even organised a packed breakfast for me when I had an early morning tour. Just one word of caution, do not go to Pizza Madre Salvatore di Matteo, just downstairs on the corner beneath the hotel! Everything there was poor!

L’insonorisation et la climatisation étaient excellentes. Autre atout très appréciable : la terrasse sur le toit, idéale pour le petit-déjeuner ou un verre en fin de journée, avec vue sur la mer. Le personnel, toujours souriant et prévenant, contribue au plaisir du séjour.

• Xizhou (10/5): - This is one of the best hotels in terms of location and service. Really close to the port, the metro and the spanish quarters. We were also extremely satisfied with the services and the rooms. The rooms are newly renonvated and have a very cozy vibe because of then flooring and ceiling. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. Can definitely recommend!

We loved soaking after a long day of fun before dinner.They also give a nice breakfast on the roof with a great view. Perfect location. 5 minute walk down the block to the port where the ferries are. Go up 1 block the other way to hit a fabulous cobblestone pedestrian street with restaurants and shops. Luxury new marble bathroom. Very very nice staff. Room is small but very clean.

• annetteo760 (4/5): Not a great experience. - Although the rooms were clean and spacious the front desk staff was not always helpful. (although some were). Right from the start, before we even got there the staff took days to respond to our email questions. Once there, we asked for extra hangers 3 times and they were never brought to the room. We asked for our towels to be changed out one day and they were not. I left items behind in my room and it has been a nightmare in communicating with them to get those items back to me. They seem very unresponsive to questions & requests before, during & after our stay.

• galtons (8/5): Very good hotel in a great location - This is not a typical hotel, as it is two floors within a residential building. You need to enter off the street and go down an internal alley to find a shared lift i.e. there is no ground floor reception. On the third floor, you will find a welcoming reception desk. Everything has been recently renovated and is bright, clean, spacious and stylish. The bed and linen and bathroom and products are nice and luxurious, and the aircon was excellent. The included breakfast was good (but not great) and the rooftop location for breakfast is lovely. Having said that, the rooftop overall was a bit disappointing. We imagined spending lots of time there enjoying the view and surrounds. The hotel photos give the impression of a large plunge tub and lots of sun lounges. In reality, the tub is small and the area is not particularly appealing to lounge around in. I would have enjoyed the rooftop more at night if they served drinks and nibbles, but the bar/food area was only in use at breakfast time (and we were there in peak season). The staff were nice and helpful, especially in assisting us in dealing with a national train strike affecting our onward travel. Location wise, the hotel is well situated - it is a 2 minute walk to the main street via Toledo, 3 minutes to Galerie D'Italia, and 5 minutes to Castel Nuovo. It is perfectly located for transport - just 3 minutes walk to Municipio metro and less than 10 minutes walk to Beverello port. It is just off the main historic centre of Napoli so you can wander through the nearby lanes and make your way up the hill through the Spanish quarter and an array of cafes and restaurants etc.
