- Bruno (8/5): Very good - staff very good welcome, clean hotel and good price
- Quang (8/5): - Thanks
- Kraisri (8/5): - Rooms are good, only found some problem in the shower, the water was good, but during shower, drain water was partially blocked and start to overflow into the bathroom and needed to stop showering and wait for water to flow into the outlet
Generally was considered very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): Google hotel - The hotel is clean and room is spacious. I got a executive room but the executive lounge was closed permanently which is a disappointed. There is no need to pay more for executive room since there is no extra benefits in doing so.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel and massage was amazing after a long day of touring with my wife
- Jennifer (4/5): Horrible customer service at every level - My husband’s company hosted an event at this hotel so we decided to book a couple of nights here for convenience prior to returning home to the U.S. It was definitely not a good experience. The room was spacious, but very outdated. Normally, I could tolerate this if the customer service is good. However, the customer service here was awful. When we checked out of our room, we had tons of luggage. We called the front desk fod help, but no one picked up. When we finally managed to get all of our luggage downstairs, there were 4-5 employees just standing around shooting the breeze. They saw us struggle to get all of our luggage out of the elevator along with our two children, and just watched. When I approached the counter to check out, I informed the employee that no one had answered our call for luggage assistance. She didn’t even acknowledge my statement. I asked for a final receipt and they said that they don’t give receipts. They were extremely rude and discourteous and I will never recommend or stay here at this hotel again.
- Jack (6/5): - Average and normal experience overall.................
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was good but they don’t have AC throughout the entire hotel (e.g. hallways). Also saw a small cockroach in the bathroom
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is ok, and staffs are very friendly. I don’t like the design much. The bed kinda hard. More old school hotel.
- MUKUND (10/5): Comfortable - Excellent except breakfast could have more vegan clearly marked dishes
- Verified traveler (10/5): service very good, good customer services. - rate reasonable, cleans, location really good, close to air port, and the city, this closed to my wife family that really good for us, for someone else maybe you need to book hotels in the city so you don't have to travel to the city, specially Holiday season (Tet, or Christmas) time.
- Kwan Mei (8/5): - Good service and close to airport
- Dudley (8/5): Vissai Stay - Hotel was good to very good. Centrally located. Only compliant is about the cost to stay at the hotel. You do not pay the price as advertised ... when making your booking be sure to add another $10 + for taxes etc...
- maaadc (8/5): Main road but quiet - Good location close to airport. Easy to get to the city with No 4 or 152 bus, very cheap.
Not much to do locally. Good breakfast, same every day but always hot.
- Matthew (6/5): - I was only there for an overnight to catch a flight. The accommodations were acceptable for that.
- Roger (10/5): Very nice business hotel. - Great hotel, great room, very helpful staff. Fairly close to airport so easy to reach in taxi. My only suggestion for change is that they should add more electrical outlets. Enjoyed my stay.
- DANNY (6/5): Normal hotel rate 4 star ! - Hotel near airport. Service ok and seem belong to the gorvement ...
- Phuong (4/5): Service is worst - Need to improve skill for employee. Restaurant service very unpolite with customer. They never smile and answer that my request.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, missed some details - Nicest (and most expensive) hotel I stayed in Vietnam.
Missing some common room details:
- No trash can in the bathroom
- bad bed light electrical plug
- Verified traveler (4/5): Okay hotel close to the airport - We had a pretty frustrating experience with the hotel. From no one being able to offer advice on what to do in the city to the staff calling us numerous times at midnight when we were trying to sleep. The food also wasn't very good. We were put up here by an airline after a cancelled flight and felt treated like second class citizens. Would not go back.
- Bron and Stu (8/5): Close to Ho Chi Min Airport - Clean, close to airport. Friendly staff, even gave us raygon fruit as gift when we enquired what the fruit was at breakfast. Nice swimming pool. Breakfast choice was outstanding!
- Michael (8/5): Nice Place - Very friendly staff, very pleasant stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is nice. It is located near the airport but has easy access to district one. All the facilities are good, good breakfast, good service. The inside of the hotel also looks really nice.
- quan (2/5): - Really bad
- Jacqueline (10/5): Best in class! - The service at this hotel is impeccable! Some of the best I have ever experienced. I was working a lot so didn't explore the neighborhood much, but instead spent any free time down in district 1. It's about only a $5/15min taxi ride to downtown so super easy to get out whenever you want ....this hotel is a great place to stay if you have a lower budget but want 5 star service.
- Gayle (8/5): Overnight stay good - Stayed ond night as flying early next day to Hue. Good airport hotel
- Will (10/5): Nice hotel near airport in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam - I just completed my third stay at the Vissai Saigon Hotel, in as many trips to Vietnam, and I continue to be impressed. The hotel has a very professional and courteous staff that 'go the extra mile' to help customers feel comfortable. I give this hotel my highest recommendation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 5 minutes away from the airport . Very clean hotel - No need to fight tragic going to the airport... Only 5 minute taxi drive away.
A bit far from the city center (district 1), and no much to do around the area.
Hotel staff is good. Reception was friendly and spoke good English.
Rooms are very clean. Very happy with comfort and sleep quality of the room.
Bathroom was very clean and house keeping will come twice a day to clean it (turndown service).
- Nicolas (10/5): - The room was clean the service was great and it was close to everything
- JP29501SC (10/5): Great hotel near airport - Great hotel 10 min from airport. Excellent service from very friendly staff. Very clean. Good restaurant. Large room. Good value.
- chin wah (8/5): not bad - worth the money
- hidingz2000 (8/5): It is close to the airport BUT no shuttle - The shuttle scene is not OK. A number of hotels have them but NOT this one. Got a taxi at the airport. Just go with metered ones and they are cheap but professional. If you want to walk, pick a cooler time or cooler day. Basically 25 minutes of walking will get you to the hotel
- Duane (8/5): Vice Nice Hotel - This is the 4th or 5th time I have stayed at this hotel. If looking for a hotel that is relatively close by the airport (vs downtown), it is an excellent property that provides quality services at a reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good hotel near airport - Spent only 1 nite in order to catch late flight out of Saigon. We bought a day package for a 7 pm checkout and spent the afternoon lounging around the pool which worked out great. Ate in restaurant in hotel which was just fine. Price which included breakfast was good value, was clean and sraff was helpful and accommodating. Only 10 minutes from airport. Only downsize was location as there was no shopping or restaurants within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Reuse? - The breakfast buffet was bad, not much varieties, food were left overs, food cooking at the station was so so, the service at the buffet was poor - no one serving you, they were just focus on setting the tables but the restaurant had only a handful customers on every morning that we came! The only good thing is spacious room, clean & comfortable.
They have no map! When asking for a map, they gave us a printout of a simple thingy with a note on it marked their hotel location! Flip over the page It was another customer details that booked their hotel in August- so they just reused paper & printed a simple sketch about the location!
Oh, they pressed the doorbell every early morning for room service, so remember put up the sign "Do not disturb" on the night before and then request them do room service for you while you are not in the hotel.
No street noise on level 8 but you can hear clear n loudly when someone closed their room door.
Will I stay again? Maybe if it cost about $50USD a night for just the room like other 3* hotel. It's not in central of HCMC so check the map of their location before booking. Highly recommend NOT having breakfast at the restaurant, just waste money & time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great business hotel at a good price. - My business trips to HCM are generally compact. This is an ideal hotel, as not only is it near the airport, it is at a convenient location to most of my dealers. And from a quality to price ratio point, this is perfect.
- Dennis (8/5): Ho Chi Minh Visit - Staff was great. Hotel was nice and since my meetings were in the hotel, location was not a major issue.
- Ban Thong (6/5): Vissai Hotel So So Only - I will probably not go back to the hotel as iam a bit displeased that I could not check in earlier or a late check out. i travel to hcm almost every week.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay - Good place to stay if a little bit out of the main town
- george (10/5): great service - Close to airport. Extremely clean and efficient. Very attentive staff. Would gladly come back
- World Traveller (6/5): Where's the WIFI - Nice hotel close to the airport on a main street. Only complaint is the lack of WIFI in the room. The wireless WIFI signal was week at best and keep disconnecting during basic browsing of surrounding area and local places to visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Relax and comfortable stay. - Easy to be reached from Airport, Hotel condition is rated reasonable well in all aspects.
- James (10/5): Nice hotel - Mu stay at this hotel was very memorable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Airline Pilot (10/5): Perfect Position - Awesome customer service, amazing food, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. 10/10 for experience
- Jim (10/5): Overnight near the airport - We needed an overnight near the airport after two weeks in country. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. Nice bar area. Would highly recommend the Vissai
- Camfrench (10/5): Graduation trip - After arriving to VN very late. (2:30am) the hotel was close to the airport, extremely comfortable and the service was great. A welcome surprise!!
- Camfrench (10/5): Great place after a long flight - After our flights being delayed and landing after 2am, this place was a welcome surprise!
- Duane (10/5): 1st Time to Stay - I normally stay at the Park Royal when in Saigon. I really enjoyed this alternate property. I did not use the restaurant, but the rooms very nice, quiet and the air con worked very well.
- JillyB (10/5): Great hotel - close to airport - We chose Vissai Saigon as it was close to the airport and we were flying out the next day. It was perfect. Great room and view across the city. We ate in the restaurant the night we arrived - a lovely Vietnamese meal with cocktails and beer. It was a great start to our holiday in Vietnam. The breakfast was outstanding with so much choice. The staff were friendly and informative. It was a perfect choice for us.
- US live in Asia (10/5): Location Excellent - This hotel is located in an office building skyscraper... Hotel starts on 24th floor reception, restaurants, etc... Entrance to the building is separate from offices and has excellent 24 hour security and bellhops... Only negative thing I could say is the need to use one lift from the ground entrance to the 24th reception, then have to use second lift for all the rooms, pool, etc... Other than that, it is a great place...
Staff would stop in hallways or anywhere, smile, say hello, and allow us to pass before they proceed... All staff always smiling and very helpful... Our housekeeping staff was very good at making the room seem new everyday... Always came for turn down service... My girlfriend was able to learn how to do Origami from the teaching packet they put on our pillows each night...
The signature swimming pool is absolutely wonderful... Infinity edge seems you will go over and fall 25 stories... No need to explain the great view of Bangkok, sipping cocktails and nibbling on snacks while relaxing in the pool...
Location is great... If you want the BTS, (elevated train), it is 50 meters away... Taxi's are easy... We walked one time to the Siam Paragon Mall... Took about 15 minutes but it was hot that day... The street market vendors are just 200 meter walk and we went at night so was cooler... The bar street area is about 300 meters with many cafe' style bars...
- annoyed (2/5): very poor - I was informed at the desk that as my partner is Vietnamese she could not stay with me. There was no mention of this rule when booking. Therefore found a better hotel with a more modern attitude, I think I should have a refund.
- Michael (8/5): Excellent Value, Definitely 4 Star - I stay at this hotel often because I work in HCMC. It's the best value for the dollar (if you can get a discounted room), mainly because the rooms are MUCH larger than other hotels of the same class. The only downside is that the 'normal' rooms do not have a bathtub, but the shower is walk-in and very nice with overhead 'rain shower' nozzle.
The hotel is not in D1; actually it's only about 5 minutes from the airport but there are plenty of good restaurants around and D1 is only a $5 taxi ride (you can walk downtown in about 45 minutes).
The hotel pool is a bit small but it's very pleasant and a nice place to hang out at the end of the day. Hotel room service is great, nice restaurant and bar.
The health club and pool are also available to people who are not staying at the hotel; a one-month pass is only $50.
- bill2016 (10/5): Highly recommend if in the Phu Nhuan area - Please note that this hotel is now the Vissai Saigon hotel. We booked under the Starcity name and the taxi driver had trouble finding this hotel not knowing it had changed names a few days before.
Great hotel in this area and had everything to be expected in a 4 star hotel. Very nice, comfortable spacious rooms. In short, a very pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for access to airport but far from city - Great for a stopover if you have an early flight. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Not much around though so you may need to hop in a taxi to district 1 for dinner.
- family of 4 (8/5): Great airport overnighter. - Very friendly helpful staff. Room service was impressive. Our room was smaller then expected from the online pictures but still reasonable. Excited about going back to check out the pool and bar/restaurant area when we have 8 hours to wait for a connecting flight. Half day rates were $65USD with free transfers. Gotta be happy with that!
- khoa (10/5): Nice and almost brand new - Nice staff, good facility, And delicious foods. It is closed to the airport but a bit far from the centre.
- Tony (10/5): Great Hotel - Great accommodations with very responsive staff.
- Mark (10/5): Really great staff and the hotel was excellent! - This hotel is located 10mins from the international Airport ($2 US taxi fare) and 30 mins from downtown (Saigon River tourist area). The staff were excellent and always smiling. The cleaners were brilliant and again...always smiling! I was able to leave my luggage with reception all day even thou I had checked out, and there was no extra cost. The open air pool was brilliant, as was the sauna and steam room, but the spa was not so clean unfortunately.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Star City hotels to others.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Different Experience - I have stayed at Star City couple of times before but during this visit things were different / changed this time. Seems to me the change in management and experiments being done are not working out well. It wasn't all together a negative experience but I have very well experienced the best from this hotel. The staff is friendly, rooms are nice and clean.
I had requested for a room near elevator and checked for the same upon check in also and was told that the room assigned is not much walking from the elevator. When I made my way to my room, I found my room to be at the extreme end of the lobby.
Although, I didn't go back to ask for a change in room position but definitely such incidences are a turn off for next stay.
They have all new room service menu with a lot of options to choose from but the chef at the night doesn't have everything to offer and offer doesn't serves the standard complimentary sides with the main order. I ordered for a soup and salad past midnight and the tray arrangement wasn't inviting enough. The bread rolls & butter, salt and pepper were missing from it which ideally should have been there.
In case there is a new management then need to understand that the soft skills only takes a hotel grading from good to outstanding.
Cheers!!!
- Tom (10/5): - Very good!
- D2013 (8/5): Close to airport was a blessing - An excelent location being so close to the airport. Staff were very well organised , very polite and very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
- Eric (8/5): Nice modern hotel few minutes away from everything - Hotel is new and on a major road. The rooms are neat and clean with enough space and a great view of the city. It is extremely close to the airport (5 minutes) and about 10 minutes away from the major tourist attractions of Ho Chi Minh City. The front desk offers relatively competitive USD/VND exchange rates and the staff is courteous and attentive.
- swilton (8/5): Another good stay - I have used this hotel on a number of occasions and recommend it to both tourists and business people, very close to the airport.I will continue using this hotel when i travel to Saigon.
- Mark C (8/5): Good hotel - Arrived late and departed early so only an over night stay but looked very nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice overall - Located in nice location between airport and downtown great service overall. Food was excellent. Would stay there again.
- chris (10/5): great hotel - Great hotel clean and modern close to airport good gym and pool. enjoyed our stay.
- R & M (10/5): we were impressed - very friendly and efficient staff in all areas from reception to housekeeping, everyone tried to go out of their way to be of assistance.
the location is a bit of a distance to the city center but conveniently close to the train station and the airport which we both used.
we would use Starcity Saigon again without any hesitation and also recommend it to anyone who travels in these parts
- Jayhar97 (8/5): Great location near airport - Was nice and close to the airport. When I booked with hotels.com I asked If the junior suite had a separate sitting room and was told yes with a sofa bed so we wouldn't need to book an extra bed for our daughter, when we arrived I was told that we needed a bed for our daughter. I tried to explain that hotels.com rang the hotel to make sure the junior suite was a sitting room with a sofa bed and separate end room but because I didn't have it in writting it wasn't what we would get. Mour room on the 8th floor just had a bed and a couple of chairs not what we were told it would be. When we arrived onto the 8th floor our room stank of cigarette smoke I to.d them we couldn't stay in this room. They then sent us to room 909 which didn't smell of smoke and they ave us the suite at no extra charge, this is what a suite looks like large sitting room, separate bedroom huge area with desk and then the bed. Bathroom was huge and beautiful. This is the room I thought we had booked. Overall hotel was fantastic bed comfy, nice large suite. Found hotel lobby smelt of cigarette smoke which was off putting. Staff helpful , breakfast average pool small but very nice. We were picked up from airport free of charge because we booked the junior suite which was a nice touch. I would stay here again but only in the suite.
- BN (10/5): Great Room for the price - My only complaint was the Wifi. Very slow and connections kept dropping. Otherwise, excellent 4 star hotel for a decent price.
- Trevor (10/5): Happy Stay - Second time I have stayed at this hotel and I find it convenient to the airport for an overnight stay where you have to catch an early flight the next day.
Though it is a bit out of the centre,I would recommend it to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very neat hotel, nice stay, discreet staff
- Rebecca (10/5): Great hotel - I was actually surprised by what we had for what we pay for. Very good room, clear and good-sized, friendly service.
- Dave (10/5): Excellant Hotel With Great People - I liked all the people there very much, including the cleaning people, the people who work in the buffet, and the people who work in the gym and pool area. Everyone was very friendly. The food was very good and the service was great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A good buffet dinner.
- Verified traveler (4/5): One night stay only - Be careful this hotel is just looking to get extra money and charge common services . be cheerful if you coming with your gf even if you booked room for 2 persons the hotel will charge you for additional person and ask you to pay for extra room
- BJHawker (8/5): Perfect Airport Hotel - We stayed one night at Star City in between flights and for the money we paid, we found it excellent value.
The rooms were smartly furnished, very clean ad comfortable.
The included breakfast was a big buffet with delicious Vietnamese and western options.
I would stay here again if I needed a hotel near the airport.
- Micky Food lover (10/5): new and clean hotel - I often stay in this hotel. It is very close to the airport if you need to flight out or nice & quiet away from the centre district 1. The hotel is new and comfortable bed. The breakfast is good.
- Laura and Dave (10/5): Great hotel - amazing food - Super hotel. Only short distance from centre 10 mins in taxi or 40 min easy walk. lovely room and excellent pool area. Seafood buffet was amazing, would recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to the airport - My stay was good. The only problem I had was with the shower temperature. The sink water temperature was fine. The shower temperature was fairly cold and the temperature was not controllable. It needs to be repaired.
- Micky Food lover (10/5): nice room - I always stay at this hotel when I come to Saigon, Location is closed to the airport, away from busy centre so you can have a nice and quite sleep..
- Micky Food lover (10/5): Close to airport - Very good size room, bed is very comfortable. The location is a bit far from the centre unless you want to stay close to the airport and away from the busy city centre.
- Dave (8/5): Excellant Value, Nice People - Excellant value for the money. Very nice people...I will stay there again on my next trip.
Also, very close to airport.
- Craig (10/5): Beyond Expectation - We stayed just one night in October 2012 on our way out of Saigon. We were upgraded to a room that was more like a small apartment - it was spotless and outstanding. Excellent value for money. It was just a pity that we were not able to stay longer. All staff were very welcoming and professional. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the evening buffet meal adequate. The proximity to Saigon airport was excellent and took less than 10 minutes by taxi. We would certainly stay again when visiting Saigon.
- Marget (10/5): Excellent hotel very close to the HCMC airport - Starcity is very close to the airport which was perfect for me as I was in transit to Hanoi. My room was spacious, the bathroom large and modern and the breakfast buffet excellent. The free wi-fi was a bit sketchy but that may have been due to numbers of users.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I enjoyed the stay
- Jude (10/5): - The hotel was one of the best in the city, and i will probably say that it made my stay well worth it in Vietnam.
- Tanya (8/5): Nice hotel , modern and convenient but far - It's quite far from the central of Ho Chi Minh. But overall is good. Close to the airport. Staffs are nice and friendly. Close to the airport.
