- cheelip0 (10/5): Excellent memories and experience at Ohla! - I had an amazing 7 days and 6 nights stay at Ohla Barcelona. From the moment I arrived, it completely exceeded my expectations. Beyond being a beautiful five-star hotel with a rooftop pool, gym, rooftop bar, and a Michelin one-star restaurant, what truly impressed me was the warmth of the service and the genuine focus on guest experience. Even before arriving, I received thoughtful emails from their Experience Team — and yes, they actually call it the Experience Team — asking if there was anything I needed ahead of check-in. It immediately made the stay feel personal and intentional. Upon checking in, guests are welcomed with free-flow bubbly from Barcelona, trays of chocolates, and a hospitality team that genuinely makes you feel cared for. The hotel also has its own app where you can request amenities, special pillows, support pillows, and other essentials conveniently. There is also a dedicated concierge/help desk that gives excellent recommendations for dining and things to do around the city. The location is another huge highlight. The hotel sits directly across from Palau de la Música Catalana, and within walking distance to the Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter, where every street and building feels layered with history and character. It’s the perfect place to slow down, wander through the Gothic streets, and eventually make your way toward El Born for dinner. Even when heading further out to places like Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, or Casa Milà, everything is only a short taxi ride away, which made the stay incredibly convenient. I also appreciated the well-equipped gym and sauna, which allowed me to maintain my workout routine while travelling. One of the nicest touches was the turndown service every evening. There were always handwritten notes waiting for us, along with chocolates, little surprises, complimentary pictorial books about Barcelona, and even bottles of wine in the room. None of it felt performative or overly scripted. The warmth felt sincere and heartfelt. Design-wise, the hotel strikes a beautiful balance between old and new Barcelona. From the exterior, you still see the classic architectural curves and aged character of the city, while inside, the interiors are dark, modern, contemporary, and thoughtfully designed. Cozy rooms, elegant marble finishes, and a global design sensibility that would appeal to travellers who appreciate aesthetics, comfort, and detail. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, and every member of the staff always seemed ready to help and serve with genuine hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay here, and if I return to Barcelona, I would absolutely stay here again. Easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Spain, if not the best.

- karenbY1302GL (2/5): Never again….. - I would like to share my disappointment with this hotel. I have never experienced such awful service in a 5 star hotel before. The front of house manager was so rude to our friends and spoke down to them like he was someone special. Also, two friends suffered humiliation when using the gender neutral toilets, when a man opened their toilet door whilst they were in there as the locks were not working, unbeknown to them.
- SMC21London (2/5): Extremely unprofessional, aggressive FOH manager - I would like to raise a concern regarding the conduct of your Front of House Manager on 1st May, which I found to be highly unprofessional. Upon arriving at the hotel for a reservation at the rooftop bar, we approached the lifts. One lift door opened and was going down; the guests inside politely informed us, and the doors closed . Within seconds, the second lift arrived going up, which we entered. A member of your security team joined us in the lift to assist with pressing the button. He was courteous and professional throughout. However, just before the lift doors closed, another staff member who identified himself as the Front of House Manager entered and instructed us to exit the lift and follow him outside. We complied with this request without hesitation. Once outside, his manner became extremely rude and confrontational. His tone and choice of words were inappropriate and unnecessarily aggressive, which made the situation both uncomfortable and unwarranted given that we had done nothing wrong. He told us we should not speak to his five star guest that we’re in the lift. He then said that they made a complaint against. However, this would have been logistically impossible to do considering there was 10 seconds between their lift door and the other one opening. Two other members of staff came outside and informed him that he was mistaken and that we had, in fact, done nothing wrong. His response was to claim that we had “spoken back” to him. By this point, we no longer wished to proceed inside, although we did appreciate the support shown by the other staff members. Even if this had simply been a case of mistaken identity, it presented a clear opportunity for him to apologise. Instead, he continued to behave in an unprofessional and discourteous manner. This interaction left a very poor first impression and fell well below the standard of professionalism one would expect. Do not waste your time here.

Before we arrived, the hotel had reached out to us and sent us a form to fill out with choices you could make for pillows, bed linens, bed configuration, nice to have this kind of attention even before checking in! Everyone at the hotel were friendly, helpful. We ate at Caelis, their Michelin restaurant, superb! Expedia contacted us after 3rd day and asked us if we had been offered an amenity or upgrade to our room. Our room did not need an upgrade, it was perfect and had a view of the cathedral! When we returned from sightseeing, a bottle of red wine and chocolates were waiting for us. Our stay was so nice, thanks to all the bellman, staff for making our stay special. Breakfast was great, too!

Even with the street being right below us, the noise level from the road and people was basically nonexistent while we slept. The rooftop bar & pool were beautiful! We wished it was slightly warmer so we could have used the pool, but that is beyond our control. We still enjoyed the rooftop bar! We also had a bottle of wine, chocolates, and rose petals upon our arrival for our anniversary.

- carolrE7426HM (10/5): Beautiful hotel in a great location, stunning accommodation and wonderful staff - The moment we arrived at the Ohla we were greeted by such a warm lovely team and made to feel at home. The hotel is in a great location & only about a 6 min walk from from the cathedral and main square. We had a deluxe junior suite at the top of the hotel with views of the gothic quarter. It was a gorgeous room a comfy bed ( great linens and choice of pillows) and separate bathroom & dressing area. The shower was large & great pressure with lovely toiletries. The wifi was stable and strong & enough well placed plugs to recharge things. We had room service when we arrived and the food was soooo good ( not usually the case!) The gym is fairly basic but has enough kit to get a workout. There is also a sauna but sadly the day I wanted to use it it was switched off ( had been working the day before). The breakfast is very good with a wide range of things to choose from & the wait staff will prepare great coffee for you. This space also doubles as one of the restaurants which was very good. We did book to go the Michelin star restaurant Caelis for my birthday but decided to go elsewhere on the day as service only starts at 8pm & we were wiped out from the sightseeing! The roof top bar is also worth a visit ( it does get very busy!) with a great atmosphere, tasty cocktails and lovely views - not sure I would want to swim in the pool with so many people sittting around it!! I would happily stay here again & it made my trip to Barcelona very memorable.

Couldn’t be any better! - I stayed for the weekend with my teenage daughter as her birthday treat and I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The decor and rooms are beautiful. It’s got a really cool, modern vibe. The location is perfect and the staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. Always cheery. It really made it a lovey stay for us. I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.
- Chang (9/5): Very nice comfortable boutique hotel in the center of Barcelona city. Friendly staff and great breakfast included. - Staff members were polite and helpful. Clean and comfortable. Convenience to most places we went. Room lighting is not enough. It is difficult to read after dark in the evening. There is only one elevator to my room on the 7th floor. No instructions for using the elevator, the up button is for the elevator next to it which goes only to the six floor and down button is for the elevator which can go up to the 8th floor.

- Y5188WPjohnk (10/5): Ohla Barcelona - Highly recommended for a perfect stay. - The Ohla Barcelona was exceptional. From arrival the front desk greeted us with chocolate truffles and had water for us. The room was very clean and had bottled water and a coffee pod machine. The bed very comfortable. We had breakfast included and they had everything you could possibly want. If you wanted your eggs prepared a certain way they would accommodate your request. The Breakfast exceeded my exceptions. The concierge was amazing he requested taxi's for us. Most spoke English. Also be careful using Uber. We had missed some rides due to location pickups. Yes we were charged for it. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. You are treated like a special guest. If you want the best service and luxury I highly recommend the Ohla. It is also in a prime location in the Gothic section.

Perfect location in the gothic quarter with the majority of tourist attractions within 30 minutes walking distance. The staff at this hotel are wonderful and really cannot do enough for you. My room was gorgeous, cleaned daily, bed turned down at night with chocolate, robe, slippers, etc. Food was great, breakfast included. Rooftop lounge was gorgeous at sunset and tapas were excellent. Perfect location, short walk to museums and parks and other attractions.

The pool is very small and there are not any loungers by the pool. It seems like more of a destination for the rooftop bar than a swimming pool people would use.

- 71askt (10/5): Excellent service! - We stayed at Hotel Ohla in October 2025 to celebrate my fiancée’s birthday, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Even before we arrived, the hotel stood out with their excellent service. They responded quickly to emails and made sure all our requests were arranged in advance, including scented bedding and the pillow menu. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly throughout our stay. To make the celebration extra special, we were surprised with a bottle of cava and a handwritten card for my fiancée when we arrived — a thoughtful touch that meant a lot to us. The room was spotless, and the housekeeping team did an outstanding job throughout our stay. They were friendly, available when needed, and we especially appreciated the daily chocolate on the pillow. The location is fantastic, right by the main shopping area and within easy walking distance of great restaurants and attractions. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options, and the rooftop bar offers beautiful views. Overall, a stylish hotel with outstanding service and attention to detail. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it for a special occasion or a city break.

My oysters were bad and now I have food poisoning on vacation for the first time in my life :( Went with my BF and got the oysters, he had one and I had 2. My first one was fine but my second one tasted off. We did not finish them. Felt super off in the morning, tried to push through. Around 7pm I started to get sick. have been sick for over 12 hours now.
