Guest Reviews
- Lisa (8/5): - PROS: We loved the location, steps away from everything we wanted to see and do. The property was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The host arranged for pick up at the airport (extra fee but worth every penny, our driver was lovely) and greeted us at the car to take us to the property, which was much appreciated!
There are a lot of stairs (honestly all through Dubrovnik, which is part of its charm) so not recommended for less able bodied people.
CON: Host didn’t accept prepayment, we had to pay cash at the property.
- matthew (10/5): - The host is amazing, you cant beat the location it is close to everything, and the place was very clean.
- Alicia (10/5): - Beautiful very clean apartment. We had a late arrival that got delayed further, they were very gracious in working and welcoming us.
The apartment is well located inside the city walls, convenient to restaurants and to the meeting places for activities.
It is a beautiful space, modern, bright and spacious with a kitchenette, living room, bathroom and bedroom.
Just remember the payment is in cash, no other form of payment is accepted.
We would definitely stay again.
- SHOYA (10/5): - Perfect location in the old town. House owner Josip was very kind and helpful. Property was very clean and comfortable, air conditioning worked very well. Their original map was also very helpful to find the good restaurants.
- Maria (10/5): - Lovely apartment in the centre, close to everything and well equipped
- Paul (10/5): - Apartment in the old city of Dubrovnik.Fantastic location in an old stone building. Good size, with reading couch and table as well as bed. Modern bathroom. Airconditioning and wifi worked well. Friendly and helpful host.Kettle and coffee maker and fridge. Easy access to everything In the old city. Although note need to climb city stairs to access, so may be more challenging for those mobility limited.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay in Old Town - Great place to stay! Host met us outside the gates and walked us to the apartment. She provided a thorough tour of the apartment and also food/drink/activity recommendations within Old Town. She also helped arrange a driver from the airport to the apartment. Highly recommend!
- Anita (8/5): - Clean comfortable property with small kitchen. This property is within old town, walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions.Numerous Restaurants and bars right below the apartment. Old Town is a busy place with lots of people. Not for those with mobility issues as there are old cobbled stone stairs. The owner very pleasant & helpful.
- David (10/5): Highly recommended - We met Josip. Since our arrival is 8:00pm, I gave him a heads up that we will be checking in late. He waited for us until 10:00pm. Showed us our amenities. The room is almost complete. From toiletries, iron, kitchen utensils. The only struggle is opening the main door using the key as well as the room door. Deadlock from inside but. Provides extra security. Please be aware that you need to pay IN CASH ONLY. If you’re planning to lay upon arrival. We will definitely pick the place if given a chance.
- Jerry (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay here. Apartment was big, clean and comfortable.
- Robin (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay in Old Town The owner was was so helpful and communication was great. Thank you so much - I had a great trip!
- Leanne (10/5): - We loved our stay here, the location is perfect, the apartment is super clean and had everything we needed. Thank you.
- tony (10/5): Fantastic - Fantastic hosts in the heart of the old town.
- Lesley (10/5): - Hosts were so nice, and its a perfect location!
- Peter (10/5): - Thank you to Diana for hosting us in her lovely period home right in the heart of Debrovnik old town. Food options are right on your door step and it’s easy to walk everywhere (just a few steps now and again). Room had everything we needed for a four night stay.
- Patricia (10/5): - This is one of the cutest places to stay. The interior design was beautiful and place is much bigger than the posted pictures. Immaculately clean. It's right in the heart of HVAR and steps from the ferry. Loved the hot water kettle and the outdoor seating of small table and chairs. Walkable to all the sites and restaurants. Easy to meet the boat trip start points. Host was so lovely and responded immediately to requests. I would definitely stay here again! Due to how central it is, can get noisy at night with revelers!
- Emma (10/5): - House Tereza's hosts are so helpful & friendly. Its location is very central & its facilities are wonderful.
- William (10/5): Amazing location in a must see city. - We had a fantastic stay within the old city. Our plane was delayed but Ana was happy to meet us at 1 am to show us our room. The location was great, as was the room itself.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything about the apartment was lovely and having the host in the building made all aspects of communication very easy. We will love to return to Dubrovnik and we wouldn’t hesitate booking House Tereza again. The only thing for guests is to be aware payment is cash only. Hotels.com did not make me aware of this at all. In fact on the booking it stated I had paid in full by credit card. The result was I had to use atm’s to obtain the full amount in cash which cost me over 90 Euro’s in charges due to the dreadful rate given. (1 to 1 - Pound to Euro - parity) The only disappointment, but a costly one.
- Carla (10/5): Loved Hotel Tereza! - Wonderful apartment with a great location in Old Town. Near the Pila Gate and everything we wanted to see and do. Our host was friendly and informative. Highly recommend!
- Steph (10/5): Perfect spot in Old Town Dubrovnik! - We had a great stay at House Tereza! The apartment is perfectly located in Old Town surrounded by some great bars and restaurants and very close to the main street, but removed from most of the noise. Diana was lovely and gave us some great recommendations! We would certainly stay again.
- Anna (10/5): - This apartment is beautiful and quiet. The owners are extremely helpful. Great place. A
- Verified traveler (10/5): - House Tereza was wonderful. Our apartment was way bigger than what we were expecting, especially as compared to the other rooms we had rented in Croatia. Everything was in excellent condition, and very comfortable. Location is great. The side streets in the old town area are very steep, and this is located a short block off the main street, but low down before the street gets very steep. Very good location.
Negative is that it is a bit loud with people in the streets below overnight, but it didn't bother us much and I'm sure that's an issue in most of the area unless you are way up the hill, which I don't think is a good trade off.
The hostess was phenomenal, allowed us to store our bags hours before check in and got us in as quickly as she could. She was super responsive, gave us great recommendations on places to eat and was just wonderful to work with.
We would definitely stay there again if we're in the area.
- Glenn (10/5): Great stay - Had a great stay here at House Tereza.
Contacted the host as soon as i arirved at the front door, there i was then greeted and show to my room.
Host was great and give me a ton of information on places to visit/eat etc.
The apartment is really spacious, seeing as i was a solo traveller but even if you were a couple, there still be plenty of room.
Place was clean, amenities plentiful and location superb.
Literally, steps away from dozens of restaurants and bars and just 1 minute walk from the main street of Old Town and stone throw away from the main sites
- Krista (10/5): - The apartment is huge, perfect for even a longer stay. The location is good, you are right in the middle of Old Town. The only negative is the restaurant(s) right under the window, not for light sleepers. I’d stay again. Thanks!
- Erica (10/5): Great Stay in Dubrovnik - I normally don't take the time to leave reviews, but we so enjoyed our stay at House Tereza that I wanted to share our experience with others. The house is located very centrally in the city, close to lots of restaurants, bars, and cafes. The room was one of the largest I've seen in Europe with amenities we didn't see elsewhere on our 6 weeks of travel in Europe, including a large bathroom shower, in-unit iron and ironing board, and full (strong) air-conditioning. Be prepared for the stairs that lead to the house. This is common throughout Dubrovnik and basically unavoidable. It wasn't a problem for us, but good to be mentally prepared especially if you are arriving on a hot day. Diana was kind enough to help us with our luggage once we got to the house. Don't hesitate to book this place!
- Constance (10/5): Love, Love, Love this Place! - Can't beat the location of this updated apartment in the heart of Old Town. The owners also offer pick-up and drop-off at the airport (for a fee), making it much more personal. They provided excellent information upon our arrival which made us able to plan our stay easier. I would recommend staying here and I would stay here again.
- Carole (10/5): House Tereza - Wonderful and well-equipped residence. Ana was extremely helpful! We highly recommend. Great location as well.
- Scott (8/5): A nice place to be in the middle of it all! - Spacious room in great location inside the castle walls. Older but charming and noisy at night. Joseph helped us with the luggage which was much appreciated with all the steep stairs around. Would stay there again.
- Douglas P (10/5): - Our room was awesome: very clean, and had every amenity we needed. Very well located within Old Town Dubrovnik. Beyond this, the owners went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable and memorable, including arranging for an awesome driver to take us on a side trip. We would definitely stay here again if our travels take us back to Dubrovnik, and highly recommend it to others.
- Christopher (10/5): Great Location - Great Location near centre and by Bars and Restaurants uo about 20 steps. Comfortable Flat with small kitchen. A few things didnt work which need gixing but overall a Goid stay.
- Douglas P (10/5): - Excellent location. Friendly and attentive owner.
- Courtney (10/5): Great stay in old town - Lovely small apartment building, perfect location.
- Gerard (10/5): Best stay in Dubrovnik! - Amazing!! Ana is the best!! The place is the best!
- V (10/5): wonderful - the apartment was very well situated to enjoy the city centre of the old town of dubrovnik. clean, comfortable and everything that was needed. the bed and towels were changed mid week. lots of info to hand and Diana & Ana proved to be helpful hosts. I asked for a birthday cake etc as it was my husbands birthday - what greated us was pure decadence. Our stay could not have been better.
- Mark (10/5): Above and beyond - Thank you Tereza - Took our booking for immediate arrival and looked after us while room was being prepared - after we had been let down by original provider. Tereza went above and beyond, including rescuing my day bag from “that guy” - thanks again, you rescued our stay in Dubrovnik
The apartment was near dead centre of the old town, high quality and well equipped
Just a few steps to rows of restaurants
Would recommend to our own friends
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This apartment was in a perfect location right in the middle of the old town. The rooms were spotless and there was everything you might need - kettle, iron, hose dryer, shampoos etc. Our plane was delayed but Ana was there to let us in at nearly midnight. Overall a great stay!
- Kelli (10/5): Great location in a magical old city! - Amazing location in Dubrovnik near restaurants and bars. To avoid climb up steep stairs go up the sides.
- SIAN (10/5): welsh stay - great room noisy people above great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): LOVE IT! - House Tereza is located right in the middle of Old Town. When we walked in, it was such a pleasant surprise. The house is kept clean, tidy and newly renovated with all the modern amenities. Our host was absolutely sweetest and friendliest! 100% recommend!
- Lauren (10/5): Wonderful room in the winding lanes of Dubrovnik. - What an amazing accommodation! In a fantastic location, very clean, with the most welcoming host offering a wealth of information and recommendations in the local area.
- Ritu (8/5): Perfect location - Perfect location to explore the old town. It is a private apartment with a couple of rooms and you have to arrange with the owner to meet at a specific time to get the keys. We did not have time to get a local sim card and therefore had to ask a store owner next door to call the owner and had to wait at the door for half an hour for her to arrive. Room is clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were there for 5 nights. Superb location! Great value for money
- Cat (10/5): Perfect apartment in heart of the old town - Apartment was spotlessly clean and tide. Hostess was very warm and friendly and provided very useful information in the local area, map etc.
Apartment was right in the heart of the city - perfect location to see the sights.
Lovely stay, would recommend to anyone
- Kin Yip (6/5): Everything is good, but... - No housekeeping service
- Stefanie (10/5): Comfortable room in a great location! - House Tereza is a lovely place located right in old town Dubrovnik. You couldn't ask for a better location as far as a home base for exploring old town! I stayed in the Ana room, and it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was updated and had a really nice shower. It's located right above a "restaurant row" so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs in case you go to bed while people are still eating. Personally I loved falling asleep to the sounds of people having a nice time!
The owner, Ana, speaks English and was so very helpful. When i checked in she showed me maps of the city and had a lot of brochures in case I needed advice. I was also able to text her when I had a question on where to find a taxi, etc.
Highly recommend and if I'm ever lucky enough to go back to Dubrovnik, I'll stay here again!
- Gabrielle (10/5): Great location, nice room and good service - The location is amazing. Great stay in the Old City, right in the middle of the most visited part of Dubrovnik. We had the room on the first floor and it was more like having out own studio apartment since we are the only ones on that floor. There are no amenities outside of the room, but the service was great. Ana met us at the apartment, gave us brochures and went over the map of Dubrovnik and suggested restaurants and places to go. There was a couch, table, mini fridge and the bed is really comfortable. I also left my necklace there and Ana went out of her way to bring it to me at another location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Sewer gas smell - The owner blames the smell on the sea but it's sewer gas. Many things are broken or missing, for example, the bracket that holds the shower head. Keep in mind this is located within the walls so no parking is available. So you have to park kms away and it is very expensive, more than $25 per day at a minimum. And finally it is very very noisy.
- Shannon (10/5): Central location at a reasonable price - Easy to arrange pick up from airport, friendly service and advice from host. Brilliant location in the heart of the old town made a huge difference.
- federico (8/5): - One man (woman) show.
- Louise (10/5): Perfect - Cannot fault this in any way. Room was a lot bigger than I had expected for an old town location! The location was perfect and I would stay here anytime!
- Avishek (10/5): Great place to stay for experiencing the old town - Excellent location. Clean, modern apartment with nice furnishings. Friendly and helpful owner; arranged for airport pick-up and drop-off (extra charge). No complaints.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great apartment in old town Dubrovnik! - This was a perfect place to stay in Dubrovnik! The location is great in Old Town Dubrovnik with wonderful cafes and restaurants at your doorsteps. Just ask how to find it at the tourist information booth and it is very easy to walk to from Pile Gate (where most of the taxis drop off). Ana, the owner, is extremely helpful. We changed our reservation to add a night at the last minute and there was some confusion, with the owner thinking we had cancelled the reservation altogether but we were able to talk with a waiter at the restaurant next to the hotel. They contacted Ana and she was there to let us in within 15 minutes! She also answered a ton of questions about Dubrovnik and even helped us plan our travel to Hvar using a car ferry. It was a really pleasant experience overall. The apartment is a perfect size with a kitchenette, small living room and bedroom. Easy check-in and check-out.
- KELLY KAYI (8/5): GREAT LOCATION AND PLACE! - We were already impressed by the Dubrovnik Old Town, House of Tereza was right inside the town. LOCATION, A+! Airport shuttle to the town was like within 30 min, since we did the research before, one of the reviewer said 'Once you walk in the Pile gate, turn Right on first street Ul. Celestina Medovica, then turn Right onto Prijeko ul, then turn Left on Petilovrijencl ul.' this way you are saving some steps! We really appreciated that tips because when you got luggage with you, saving some steps is great! We didn't get to meet Diana but her friend brought us inside the flat, very clean and modern, much better than the pictures. wifi was great, great TVs (one in the room as well), modern style in an old building, the daughter live on the top floor, very helpful. kitchen is small, but useful. shower drain was blocked, we just throw towels to dry it, not a big bother for us...
One thing, we had to pay cash, luckily i have enough money on me.Told the daughter to add details. Other than that, IT WAS A GREAT TIME staying at HOUSE TEREZA. WILL GO BACK FOR SURE!
- debs (10/5): Ideal place to stop in Dubrovnik - This apartment has been recently refurbished to a much higher standard than on the photos so this was a pleasant surprise. E mail sent on day of arrival about check in. Lady very friendly who checked us in. Very central.
- Helsbels (4/5): Great location but that's it - Where to start- this place has the perfect location, you walk out of the apartment and everything is there, you are right in the centre of the old town. There is free wifi and the place is clean. If this is all you are looking for then you will be happy to stay here.
The apartment is in desperate need of a make over, it's fitted out with low quality furniture, in the main room there are two single beds that although push together is impossible for you sleep as if it was one due to the wooden frames. Everything about it shows that the owner does not care too much, the towels are old and feel like sand paper, the door to the apartment doesn't feel secure and concerned us about anyone being able to get into it.
The contact with the owner was a struggle, language barrier aside, she did not respond for days to any of our messages and when she did never really answered the questions asked. She was a very nice lady when we eventually met her as she was not here to greet us upon arrival, a neighbour gave us the key but spoke no English.
When she turned up the following day we were asked if we would move on the Friday (our booking was until Saturday) as she had double booked, she said we could have the room downstairs, although we still paid the normal price for that room (which was less than the apartment) Although we did not complain we felt this was very unprofessional which others could of complained about.
