Guest Reviews
- Anjali (10/5): - This was one of the best stays we’ve ever had. First time visit to Agra but the staff made it so memorable that we will definitely come back again.
Location is convenient( only 10 minutes walk to taj mahal and street shopping ) plenty of in house dining and shopping options. Staff is very caring and respectful. Driver keshav showed us around the area for one day tour and he has a great knowledge about the neighbouring cities.
- Remington (10/5): - Wonderful stay here. From the location to the staff to the food to the pool I would highly recommend this place. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in Agra!
- Imran Abidi (2/5): - Not Recommended
- MISS SALLY (10/5): Very much recommend - An excellent location. Really nice hotel. Amazing service. The staff are lovely. The breakfast was excellent
- FNU (10/5): - Excellent hotel, you can see Taj Mahal from the terrace. Walkable distance, very good breakfast.
- Shishir (10/5): - Nice stay Taj view and pool are amazing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall it was good..
- Ashok (10/5): - Breakfast is excellent and staff is very courteous and location is very near to Taj Mahal.Overall very good experience .
Thanks for the good hospitality
- Allison (4/5): - I hate to write a negative review, but this place wasn’t great. It had a bad smell, like moth balls and sewer, and nothing felt clean. The food was not very fresh so I just ate toast and a banana for breakfast. I went to check out the pool only to find a monkey sitting in it who charged at me! I did not provoke it, no eye contact. Fortunately I was able to escape and shut the door before it reached me. There were no warning signs to guests to watch for monkeys, nor does that property attempt to keep them out! I would not recommend this hotel. The only good quality was its location.
- Karmjeet (8/5): Great location and atmosphere - Lovely staff, knowledgeable and friendly. Hotel taxi very costly though and the pool did not have sufficient sunbeds.
Great location and ambience
- Matthew (10/5): - Nice place, short walk to Taj Mahal, good area
- raymond (10/5): - if you are visiting the Taj mahal....this is the place to stay, 10 minutes away, dinner with life music, puppet show and very friendly staff!!!
- Mandar (8/5): Average conditions - Average hotel, extra they provided but condition was very poor
- Jamini (10/5): - Excellent hotel and location!
We ate dinner at the rooftop restaurant and could see Taj Mahal!
Shikya welcomed us at reception and was very efficient and helpful. She booked us tickets for a show for that evening and checked us in quickly.
The rooms were clean, spacious and the shower was good. Very good value for money.
Would recommend staying here when in Agra!
- Kevin (8/5): - The Taj Hotel resort was as advertised. It was walking distance to the Taj Mahal and they were able to sell me a ticket which also included the Agra Fort. I went to the rooftop terrace restaurant just after it opened at 7pm and had a wonderful meal which was accompanied by live traditional music. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place near the Taj Mahal.
- Robert (8/5): - Rooftop restaurant and observation deck were great. We viewed Taj Mahal during sunrise from rooftop was super easy and fun. 15 minute walk to east gat of Taj M was super convenient. Front desk arranged tour guide and taxi for us made things super easy and reasonable prices. Air conditioning was pretty weak, needed ceiling fan on to sleep and wasn’t hot outside during February visit.
- Arijit (8/5): - Had a nice stay. Room was clean. Facilities were good. Staff were friendly. Very near to Taj.
- Tarynne (10/5): - The rooftop for sunrise and sunset views were incredible. Guide for the Taj Mahal picked us up from the hotel door. Good selection of foods for dinner (I recommend the mutton) and freshly made omelettes to order in the morning.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Amazing stay. Everyone was nice and accommodating. Great view of the Taj Mahal from the rooftop restaurant!
- ravindra (6/5): - Walking distance from Taj was the criteria used to book the hotel. Looks like common bathroom leak on 3rd floor caused urine smell that won’t go away in the room that was allotted. Staff offered room freshener to negate the issue. We had to be firm and demand room change. Which was approved. The interior can use refresh. We ended up skipping the free breakfast next day as did not like the quality. The restaurant on the top has a nice location and so do the swimming pool. We did not use the pool due to cold weather. We have a dinner at the restaurant. Nice ambiance and service but the food made us uncomfortable next day. I guess the chicken was not fully cooked.
- Bela (6/5): - The hotel was a bit dated and needs upgrading. However, we got a good sleep.
- Amanda (6/5): - The staff are great, but beyond that it's very average. The decor is tired and the wifi and hot water in the shower was intermittent. The continental breakfast was disappointing - tinned pineapple and rock hard bread rolls. But it is very cheap and convenient for the Taj.
- Christopher (10/5): - We stayed at Hotel Taj Resorts for two nights and our stay was so comfortable and convenient. The hotel is truly a 10 minute walk from the Taj Mahal which is extremely convenient. There is a balcony to overlook the Taj and the hotel breakfast was delicious. We arrived in the middle of the night and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. They even offer purchasing your tickets to the Taj Mahal ahead of time so you don’t have to wait in line. A wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for a convenient and comfortable way to see the Taj Mahal and the rest of Agra.
- Guri (2/5): - The rooms are next to kitchen and we could hear loud pots and pans banging non- stop from 7 pm till 1 am. People shouting in the hallway. Dirty sheets and bedding. Breakfast was horrible.
- Ravindiran (6/5): - Nil
- Jozef (10/5): - Stayed second time, because it is really good
- Rajive (8/5): - Great location near Tajmahal. Wonderful view of the Taj from the terrace during the day. The restaurant serves delicious food and the wait staff is amazing. On the negative side, our room was directly below the restaurant so the sound of chairs being dragged came through loud and clear. Mr. Yadav, the manager, told me they are looking for a fix to this problem. Also water was leaking out of the bathtub on to the floor. in our room
- Harry (8/5): - A very enjoyable experience within close proximity to the Taj Mahal. Would definitely recommend.
- Prashant (10/5): - My recent visit to hotel taj resort was amazing as it is conveniently located at walking distance to Taj Mahal. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Also we loved the rooftop restaurant with great food and classical music.
- cath (6/5): Ok stay - Staff were friendly
Tap in bathroom leaked, fridge and tv didnt work, kettle lid was broken.
Pool was nice
Proximity to Taj Mahal was good, and there was a view of the monument from the terrace restaurant
- Yun Young (6/5): - I was given a smaller room than the fare I had paid for. In addition, the room was in the basement with no windows. Also, there was no way to make the air circulate in the room but with fan/AC, which made the room very cold and blew air directly into the bed. Outside of this not so pleasant experience, the hotel is in a good location close to Taj Mahal and offers a good value relative to the nightly rates.
- Hector (10/5): - Very good location. It was safe, clean and walkable. Rooftop restaurant was very hood. Breakfast was excellent
- Annette (10/5): - Everybody was very friendly. It was a very nice place to stay. The water could’ve been otter, but aside for me cause I like really hot water aside from that. It was very good. I had no problems. Anything I needed the attended to. It was very good.
- Ajay (4/5): Alright - Horrible experience , despite paying premium price ,They placed us in basement room where the window was 10 feet high from the ground ,you can’t have even fresh air.
The only positive experience we had was breakfast.
- John (10/5): - Our family of 4 (with two boys ages 13 and 11) stayed for 2 nights and overall had a really good experience at Taj Resorts. The location cannot be beat: the Taj East Gate is a pleasant walk to the west and the hotel area is relatively clean and quiet. We thought the breakfast was good and made a lot of use of the rooftop pool. There's a good view of the Taj from the uppermost roof areas. We thought the food from the roof area restaurant was good. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and for a fairly small additional fee we were able to retain our room for 5 hours of additional day use after the regular checkout time, as we had an overnight train to catch that evening and wanted to keep the room as a base. One note is that upon check-in you may want to request a room on one of the upper floors. We were given a basement room for our first night, which was fine but we found it too cave-like for our tastes since it lacked a window. We were given an upstairs room for no extra cost, and having a window for us made a huge difference. Also be aware that you have to walk through a little store that sells marble goods to get to the basement breakfast area and you'll likely be solicited to peruse and buy stuff - but a firm and polite no thanks and keeping on walking worked fine to get to breakfast. Overall a great place to stay in Agra. We'd stay here again and recommend it to others.
- Bridgette (2/5): - Stay elsewhere. At best, this is a 2-star hotel. The place is filthy, and the breakfast area is stacked with mattresses and linens, creating an unpleasant dining environment. I was shocked to see that some of the kitchen staff sleeps in the same area where food is prepared at night. Hygiene and cleanliness seem to be non-existent here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Proximity to the Taj Mahal is not a plus as the West Gate is a better entrance with much better hotels. So this hotel is out of the way to everything else!
- Melissa (8/5): Safe, Good service, close to the Taj Mahal - I stayed here 2 nights while visiting the Taj Mahal and other heritage sites. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurant was pretty good, and my stay included breakfast (a buffet served on the bottom floor next to the in-hotel handcrafts shop). My only complaint is that the bathroom and touch surfaces in my room could have been a bit cleaner. Luckily I travel with disinfecting wipes and was able to touch up as needed. My room was on the floor under the lobby, which I thought strange at first, but then I realized how dark and quiet it was for sleeping. It was so perfect.
The best thing about this hotel is the location, just 500 meters from the East gate of the Taj Mahal, on a pedestrian friendly road. I felt very comfortable walking to the Taj in time for sunrise from here as a solo female traveler.
- Michael (8/5): - The pool was cloudy (needed chemicals ) the was a lot of work been done to the rooftop area(was not informed about )when booking.
- Alejandra (6/5): - People on service great,
Don’t like the breakfast, horrible breakfast place.
No hand towels, no carpet shower.
The management person was not considered, with a mistake we had on the booking platforms. Agoda.
- Barbara (8/5): - This is the place If you are looking for a BUDGET hotel
- Thomas (10/5): - I chose Taj Resorts because I was looking for somewhere really close to visit the Taj Mahal on a short layover in India.
The hotel location is brilliant, just a 5 / 10 minute walk to the wold wonder. Really nice staff, great restaurants and comfortable rooms.
- Hari (8/5): Nice place - Good place, near Taj Mahal. Walkable to one gate or you can pick schuttle service to Taj.
- Hari (8/5): Nice place - Good place, walkable to Taj
- Bella (8/5): - Good value for location near Taj.
- RASHMI (8/5): - The Hotel Manager was excellent and assisted in every way from Tour guide to transport...I must also mention the tour guide who provided excellent service during tour of Taj Mahal
- Peter (4/5): - Tired property in need of a revamp
Breakfast below par and underwhelming
Location and proximity to Taj fabulous
- INES (10/5): - Excellent location! We were able to walk to the amazing Taj Mahal. Staff were helpful and courteous. Great breakfast too!
- Richard (6/5): - No ac
- Ruhi (10/5): - location close to monuments
- Ruhi (10/5): - Location close to monuments, safe, ability to get transportation,
- Suraj Kumar (8/5): - Good property to stay
- Cameron (10/5): - You won't find a better affordable hotel as close to the Taj Mahal. The staff, especially at the front desk, work so well under stressful circumstances. All in all, a great operation!
- Sidhartha (8/5): - Good and comfortable stay.
- Shashi Kant (8/5): - Good staff. Fantastic shops where you can buy with Taj confidence! Reasonable prices. Shop Manager was very informative, polite and helpful.
Roof top restaurant very good but lighting colour too bright, better to have muted colour amber for better ambiance.
My room was upgraded but had repaired raw door with nails visible and not even painted. I had pointed this out to front desk.
I miss a coffee bar in any hotel, so a major draw beck.
- Jonna (8/5): Little gem - Lovely hotel within 10 min walk from Taj Mahal, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was open late-ish which was great as we arrive late from Delhi. The resturant served good quality good and reasonable prices. The views of Tj Mahal from the view point just above the resturant was breathtaking! I would highly recommed for people wanting a good traditional Indian hotel
- Manish (10/5): - Staff is excellent danish the recipient was above and beyond provide in detail information.
Hotel feels good and have positive vibes.. hoghly recommended if u love taj and dont wanna travel and just want to walk .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - The main positives about this hotel was that it was super close to the Taj Mahal so we were able to walk to the Taj Mahal at sunrise and fairly good value for money for what it is. Good restaurant. But the rooms were not sound proof so you can hear everything which made it difficult to sleep.
- Terry (4/5): - Creepy basement room that smelled bad. Dirty sofa. Only powdered coffee available. Scratchy towels.
- Quang (8/5): A good choice to see the Taj Mahal - Excellent location, walking distance to Taj Mahal. The marble gallery in the basement has the greatest quality we've seen. We bought one here after scouting many other shops. Restaurant food is in good quality. Breakfast is only so-so. Very limited options and no non-veg option. Room a bit small. Bathroom is okay but nothing to write home about. Noise insulation is not good as you can hear noise from outside easily. Staff is super friendly and helpful so it makes up for the shortcomings of the hotel.
- Janardhana (2/5): - We had many issues. Water leaking in bath room floor area, bath room door knob not working(not closing and opening is a big task), fan runs only on one speed(high), AC making weird noises, big noises from top floor day and night. Staff is good.
- Carl (8/5): - The Hotel Taj Resorts is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the Taj Mahal and many small restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the shower was awesome - plenty of nice hot water! Great view of the Taj Mahal from the upper viewing tower on the roof. The only thing that I didn't like was the location of the room - it was subterranean, so the window was up near the ceiling - no way to see outside. I would skip the breakfast and go outside to find something to eat.
- Babu (8/5): - Great location to see the Taj, and friendly and accommodative staff
- Ryo (10/5): - The access to Taj Mahal is good and the rooftop restaurant is great together with the live music show.
- Saif Ali (10/5): - Really enjoyed my stay, convenient walking distance to the Taj Mahal landmark
- Komul (8/5): - Overall a good stay. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was good. Ideal walking distance to the Taj Mahal (around 10mins walk).
- Deepak (2/5): - Worst experience ever i have encountered upon arriving, made a request when booked like 4-5 months before that I need one king bed and other twin beds , never listen or care and gave the ugly bed which has dip at the middle cant even sleep well and have to pay extra for my brother to stay. They won’t even care to listen all they said talk to Expedia . What kind of service is expedia provide to their customers like this? Won’t ever gonna use again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Taj resort - Sound of the TV have too noise.
Also, the fridge makes a lot of continuous noise.
- Andre (8/5): - Excellent location for Taj Mahal. Rooms are comfortable but need some updating. Staff were very nice. Restaurant was very good for our evening meal.
- Sankar (10/5): - Good.
- Rakesh (10/5): Highly recommend - What a wonderful stay with this property was! This property is on top ranking for cleannesses, lovely food, very helpful staff from front office to kitchen and house keeping. Management is very great, friendly and supportive. Walking distance to Taj Mahal. Clear view of Taj Mahal from the terrace of the property. Highly recommended for any stay.
- Dhananjeyun (8/5): - Amazing location, reasonably priced, staff are friendly and helpful. There were some issues like missing bathroom curtain, poor wifi, etc. but they were quick to rectify them. Overall, our stay was enjoyable.
- Deepak (10/5): - Food and service at the Taj Terrace is excellent.
Service and cleanliness at the hotel can be improved a bit to go for the top ratings.
Taj Gallery is nice touch to give an exclusive shopping experience for Agra’s famous marble handicrafts.
Overall a decent place to stay at walking distance from The Taj Mahal.
If you are getting a nice price deal, go for it. Food will definitely make it worth if nothing else ;-)
- GURUNANTHAN (10/5): - Clean place and family friendly. Good night view of Taj
- Joseph (10/5): - The Gallery and the kitchen were standouts
- Jagjit (10/5): - The staff was very helpful. I will recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Budget hotel, no frills - Room was ok, very budget friendly. Amenities could be better. Rooftop food was very mediocre. Breakfast was horrible. Location is excellent
- Aditya (10/5): - Overall the property was good.
- Maria Laura (10/5): - Fantastic experience and great general manager. Everyone was happy to help and made sure we had a memorable stay in Agra. Highly recommended. Very short walk to Taj Mahal and the view from the terrace is breathtaking.
- Venkata JANARDHAN Rao (8/5): - Walkable to Taj Mahal. Staff and service good. Aa La Carte Indian food is not authentic Indian. Good portion is less compare to price they charged.
- Samuel (6/5): - The basement rooms were not nice at all, nor the breakfast served in the basement. The staff was so friendly and helpful especially Mr. Yadav.
- Sean (10/5): - Amazing for the price and within a 10 minute walk of the Taj Mahal. Many eateries nearby and the hotel has a nice dinner wifh live music:)
- Naomi (4/5): - Only thing decent was breakfast
- Priyadarshi (6/5): - Nothing unique. Very small room size. Close to Taj Mahal, that's all.
- SCHAKED (8/5): - I liked the hotel staff the food was very good and the location is very good
- Susan (10/5): - Staff was wonderful
- Stig (8/5): - great location rooms not up to date but location that what make this hotet
- Pratik (10/5): - Excellent stay close to Taj Mahal
- Michelle (10/5): - From the moment we stepped foot on the property until we left for the train, my daughter and I felt well taken care of. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk even sorted out our booking mishap at the hotel of our next destination. The breakfast options were a bit limited but good. They even packed up a take away lunch for our 10 hour train ride. Sadly, it was too cold for swimming in the pool, but we enjoyed some time on the terrace. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Iftekhar (10/5): - Very close to Taj Mahal, pretty safe location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very poor, not good value for money. - Very poor and overpriced. The hotel is tired and dirty, there were holes in the linens and towels. The room was in the basement and incredibly loud at night (sounded like furniture being moved around above us and prevented us sleeping). Breakfast was poor and staff were not welcoming. Only good point was the proximity to the Taj Mahal, which is within walking distance.
- Laura (2/5): - This should NOT be rated 4 star. It is 2 or 2.5 at best. Old towels that were rough, didn't clean my room, tv didn't work. Weird smells
- MADAN (6/5): - Real amenities and property not exactly as beautifully portrayed in photos. Front facade is close, but rooms and sheet linens needed a good clean.
Best was its proximity to Taj Mahal.
Served the purpose for a 1 night stay in Agra.
- KUNJAL (4/5): - Filthy and noisy rooms. Small beds, aged bathrooms, narrow walkways. Walking distance to Taj was the only highlight.
- Arun (10/5): - Good
- julian (4/5): - Great location walking distance to the Taj Mahal, but the hotel is very very basic. Note the hotel is alcohol free. The immediate area outside of the hotel is very run down but I had been warned about this beforehand. Good place for one night to visit Taj Mahal but no longer than this. Note hotel is not part of the Taj Hotel chain
- Saurabh (8/5): Must stay property.. - Location of property is awesome, just 500mtrs to taj vip gate.. rooms are good, some niggling issues though.. food is slightly disappointing..
- William (10/5): Well-run hotel in excellent location - Well-run hotel with well-trained staff who are cheerful, helpful and professional at all times. Mr Yadav, in particular, ensured all necessary support. Room was well-equipped, clean, comfortable. Breakfast is essentially an Indian menu; perhaps with growing numbers of Western tourists after Covid some provision for a non-Indian breakfast could be considered. The location is ideal: far away from the dirt and dust of the current metro construction and within easy walking distance of both the Taj Mahal and the parkland that surrounds it. The hotel's top terrace offers an unobstructed view of the Taj, particularly striking early morning or late afternoon. A prestigious hotel exists almost opposite on the same road. For those not wanting ultimate luxury, I highly recommend Taj Resorts as offering distinct value and a well-supported stay to its guests.
- Ritesh (2/5): - Worst service, rude staff, stinking rooms, not recommended at all.
- Sree Divya (2/5): - The property was so dirty. The blankets were ripped off. The towels were so bad. Such a worst experience
- Azeem (8/5): - Close to sight seeing
