- Travel585122 (2/5): Cute hotel but avoid Silk Road Gallery around the corner! - It was recommended that I visit this store. Aggressive sales tactics, nothing is real. The men stand near the exit so you don’t leave until you buy something. When you finally do, they say their card reader isn’t working and they need to use the one next door. Then they charge you more at the Gold shop nearby. They do this because in Türkiye you don’t pay taxes on Gold. Once you figure it all out, they refuse you a refund. Try to find this “business” on the internet. They don’t exist. Total scammers.
- Travel585122 (4/5): Avoid nearby store - Silk Road Gallery!!! - It was recommended that I go shopping at Silk Road Gallery around the corner. These group of aggressive men are total con artists selling fake rugs in inflated prices. Once you figure out you’ve been duped, they offer no refund. I’m now part of a criminal and civil case with 7 other tourists, interestingly all women. Still don’t believe me? Try to find this store on the internet. You can’t because they don’t want to be caught! Absolutely cruel men. Attached is a picture of “Gustavo,” the one they send in to flirt with the single ladies. Just disgusting.
- accidental_tourist07 (10/5): Best cat in Istanbul - Location is great and staff friendly but by far the best thing about this hotel was the cat that visited our balcony(we were on the top floor with a balcony and a fire escape). She was there on the first morning asking for food (which we happily supplied as you can buy cat food in literary every shop in the city) and by the third or fourth day she was purring and sleeping on our laps on the balcony chairs. We never met such a sweet and loving cat and were really sad having to say goodbye - we sincerely hope that the next guests will "adopt" her as well - she loves her food ;) apart from the cat everything else was great as well :)
- nicolapX3878HY (10/5): Just breathe retreat adventure Turkey - The hotel is like a hide away, there’s a beautiful garden over looking the breakfast area, and upstairs is another garden area where our group did yoga each morning before breakfast, the staff are so friendly by the time we were leaving it was like we were leaving family, the hotel is walking distance from blue mosque and other amazing attractions, we ate at different restaurants that our amazing host Berat took us too, the hotel is clean and staff were so willing to meet our needs, we will be back. - Janboy21 (10/5): A truly wonderful hotel - We booked this hotel as part of a package with British Airways and were not disappointed. The hotel is ideally located in the Sultanahmet area a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia Basilica Cistern and many many restaurants, cafes and shops. We had booked a suite (room 402) and were hugely impressed. A large king sized bed, small sitting room area, large bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower and WC with built in bidet is beautifully presented in distinctive Turkish decor. There is a lot of storage and wardrobe space. A small fidge is also available with air conditioning installed and also a portable very effective a/c unit. A small balcony with seating overlooks a small mosque and has stunning sea views. The room was well maintained, cleaned daily to a high standard and was private and quiet (notwithstanding the sea birds that sit on the roof and the call to prayer which you quickly get used to). The staff are very friendly, unobtrusive and keen to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Everyone from the general manager, porters and the cleaning ladies are just lovely. Breakfast is served in a large L-shaped dining area or in the wonderful courtyard which has lemon and plum trees, jasmine and a fountain. Truly relaxing. The food is typical continental style fayre. We had a suite which was well worth the extra money. There are 2 upper floor suites and we had the larger of the two. The other has the same facilities but is smaller and more intimate without the sitting area inside. This is a beautiful small hotel which benefits from great facilities, great location and exceptional staff. Highly recommended.
- JPHead (6/5): Good value and central location in old town - We stayed at the Sokhullu Pasa as part of a BA holiday package. The hotel was good value, and well located in the Sultanahmet area, just a 5-minute walk to the Blue Mosque, with a multitude of reasonably priced cafes and restaurants nearby. Our particular favourites were the Arch Restaurant for dinner, and the Rabbit Hole cafe for coffee and breakfast options. Prior to arrival we contacted the hotel to upgrade to a Superior room, which was beautifully decorated in traditional style, located on the 4th floor, with a lovely sea view, and importantly the room was very warm, and was a welcome retreat from a snowy Istanbul in February. Do bear in mind that if you book any extras (room upgrades, tours) direct with hotel, then they prefer cash payment in Euros, so best to come with plenty of cash to avoid getting ripped off by local ATMs. We weren’t impressed by the self service breakfast offering: the “hot” options (boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and potatoes were barely lukewarm) and the Turkish meze items looked unappetising. In addition, the hotel staff were not particularly welcoming or hospitable, however we must commend housekeeping, as our room was always immaculately clean, and towels regularly changed

Made our stay a friendly warm occasion. Very close to all touristy hotspots. Plenty of smaller restaurants close by. Some serving alcohol. I was let down by my Insurance company STAYSURE Regarding an injury I sustained but the hotel proprietor arganised a walking stick for me. Much to my relief. And assistance. Thank you.. Great views out to sea from our room.
- Sightsee16344534040 (8/5): A Perfect Getaway at Hotel Sokullu Pasa - We recently stayed at Sokullu Pasa for 5 nights with family of eight and had an excellent experience.The room was clean and well equipped with all the basic amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any request. Special mention of Mr. Farat who was very kind and my guide to plan our family outing to any of the shopping areas and restaurants near by. The breakfast had a good spread. The hotel's location was perfect, close to all the histrorical attractions of Istanbul, unlimited restaurant options within walking distance and short walk to the beautiful water front area. Some rooms give a great view of the Sea. The hotel being in Fatih has a little hilly terrain. The Munhani restaurant attached to Sokullu Pasa serves great local cuising. Uber can be easy called online using the hotel wifi even if you don't have a local SIM or data. I would highly recommed Sokullu Pasa hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and well organised stay!

- Elaine1188932 (10/5): Fabulous - Sokullu Pasa is family-run by long-serving staff who are friendly, considerate and obliging. A well-presented breakfast, a variety of food for all tastes plus quick and efficient service by waiters, Mehmet and Fahti. The hotel is well maintained and furnished Turkish style. Rooms are immaculately serviced daily by two exceptionally helpful ladies and certain rooms overlook the Bospherous. There is no bar, however, the hotel does not object to the consumption of personal alcohol, provides glasses, ice etc., then enjoy your drinks in the pleasant garden so bring/buy your own supplies. The hotel is centrally located in the old town and convenient for the main attractions. I would also suggest organising transfers and tours through the hotel which provides a reliable service. Highly recommended. This was a BA organised five-night break.

Location is great too - We travelled to Istanbul for a long weekend and stayed at the sokullu Pasa hotel. It is very clean and tidy, and beautifully authentic. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh water put in our fridge every day, a nice touch! The breakfast was varied with lots of choice, if they had crossiants it would have been perfect. Staff were helpful at all times. Highly recommend this hotel

- JRKernow (6/5): A convenient base for exploring the old city. - Conveniently located for the historic centre of Istanbul, this hotel is decorated and furnished in a traditional Turkish style, though looking rather drab and in need of refreshing in some areas. The room was comfortable and clean, and there was a good choice for the breakfast buffet where the staff were efficient. The hotel does not serve evening meals, though there are plenty of local restaurants nearby. It is worth noting that for any extras booked through the front desk cash payment is preferred, which is not very convenient, as it involves having to withdraw large sums from the ATMs where a significant commission is added to the total.

- Karrie1966 (10/5): Excellent hotel with brilliant Turkish vibe - The hotel is not a 5* venue, but is friendly, clean and gives a truly authentic Turkish vibe. I'm sure that in its price bracket you wont find better. We loved it. We had a superior double room with a fantastic balcony with views over the Sea of Marmara. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast sets you up for the day. A really short walk (uphill) to the hippodrome where you will find the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Also the tram line to explore the rest of Istanbul. We would thoroughly recommend and would definitely return!

The room is very clean with comfortable bed . The breakfast is various and fresh. Mehmet at the reception is very kind and polite , we had such fun with him.Also a compliment for Fatih at the restaurant. We sure recommend everyone to stay at this lovely hotel. - Lisa (10/5): - Convenient to so many shopping and dining possibilities. Just a block or two from the historic Hippodrome of Constantinople AND the 'small' Hagia Sophia mosque. Very friendly and accomodating staff; always handled questions and requests promptly and courteously. Three minor issues: 1.) We could not turn off either the heated towel rack in the bathroom nor the floor heat in the entranceway. 2.) No washcloths/facecloths provided (could not find any in local shops, so maybe they don't exist in Turkey?). 3.) Water bottles sometimes replaced by housekeeping, sometimes not. Same with Shower Gel empty containers. Still... we would absolutely stay here again without hesitation. High value for money.
- SaxonChapRJS (10/5): A Friendly Intro to Istanbul - Our first time in Istanbul, so we chose a BA holiday, and hence this hotel. What a pleasure, both to be in such a great location and to find such a gem nestled in the heart of it. The hotel is small, like most other independent hotels in the Ancient district, but that allows for friendly, more personal customer service. Our en-suite room was basic but very clean and comfortable (which is all we need when we're out exploring all the time!). The buffet breakfast offered a mix of Turkish and Mediterranean foods, with fabulous coffee (of course)! No dinner is available, but it sits right next door to an excellent and affordable restaurant, Garden 1897. The hotel's split-level garden was a great place to 'take tea' in the afternoons, Turkish style, and offered a quiet space amidst the hustle and bustle on the streets. As for location, it really was a great choice. Just a few minutes walk will take you to places such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace and (our favourite place) Basilica Cistern. A 15-20 minutes walk will get you to the Spice Bazaar and the Grand Bazaar, and to the river for the ferries. Cannot say enough about the staff. Virtually all had excellent English, and were able to offer as much advice as we needed; plus, booking things for us such as an evening dinner cruise on the Bosphorous. The clincher, however, had to be the surprise of the British themed leather sofa, what can I say ? ;-)

El desayuno bufet es el típico de Turquía, si estás acostumbrado al desayuno europeo no lo vas a encontrar. Al lado mismo ( se ve en las fotos, pero no pertenece al hotel) hay un patio interior con un muy buen restaurante, lo recomiendo para cenar
- Cristian (10/5): Genuine Service, Great Location, Good Breakfast - We were debating between this hotel and another, but I am SO happy we chose Sokulla Pasa. The location is a quick walk (a little hilly but great for some pre-sightseeing exercise) to Obelisk of Theodosius, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilisca Cistern, and much more in the area. It is just on the outskirts of the busy area, so you can expect it to be a tad quieter. However, there are still plenty of restaurants, rooftops, shops, and mini markets within a 5-minute walk radius. Train stops are also about 8-10 minute walk away if you're looking to go to the Karakoy side. Rooms give off the classic Ottoman vibes, and my AC worked great. The main reason I am absolutely happy with my stay here was the staff. The attentiveness and kindness from the staff was great, from the front desk, servers, night shift, and cleaning personnel. Shoutout to Fati and Mehmed, they were extremely helpful during check in, breakfast, check out, and if we ever needed anything. The seating areas outside are comfortable and we spent hours relaxing when we needed a break from walking around and sightseeing. My favorite part of breakfast was mixing their Halva and hazelnut butter and spreading it on their Simit bread (Turkish sesame bread). I would absolutely recommend people to stay here if they are wanting to stay in the Sultanahmet area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A lovely experience with one major flaw - The hotel has a rustic design to it which was very appealing to me. We were in room 301 which in my opinion is the best room. It has a beautiful view of the sea and sunlight comes through the large windows almost all day long as it is the corner room in the south west corner of the floor. The staff are really friendly and almost everyone knows English. I tried to learn a little bit of Turkish just to be respectful to the lovely locals but I never had a problem talking to the staff in English.The cleaning crew are good but even though we had them clean the room every other day, they would change the sheets once a week and wouldn't refill the soap and shampoo if we didn't ask personally. But we were ok with that. The breakfast was really good too. I would appreciate more fruit but to be fair, there always was at least two kinds of fruit available for breakfast. The hotel is located in a rather sweet spot. It is around 7 mins from the sea, 10 mins from blue mosque, 1 min from restaurants and convenient stores, 10 to 20 mins from a bakery, Turkish bathhouse, shoe market, tram or bus stations, subway, and the Grand Bazaar. On Wednesdays, there is a bazaar from which you can buy fruit and vegetables at a lower price about 5 mins east of the hotel. My only complain is that the room had no free electric plugs. So if we wanted to charge our electronics, we either had to do it in the bathroom or unplug something. I asked for a splitter or an electric power bar but they didn't have one.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Schönes altes Hotel, nichts für Leute mit Auto! - Es ist immer wieder fraglich, wenn Hotels angeben, über einen Parkplatz zu verfügen, dann vor Ort heisst, dass man angegeben hätte, dass Parkplätze in der Nähe bestehen würden. "In der Nähe" ist ziemlich relativ, denn es ist dort sehr hügelig und damit erschwerend mit alten Menschen oder Kindern länger zu gehen, andererseits sind die Parkplätze improvisierte Flächen, wo man den Autoschlüssel abgeben muss, ohne ein Valley-Ticket o.ä. zu erhalten.

- Veda (10/5): Excellent location - The location was great for most everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. If you do tours they will come pick you up and bring you back. Our only bad experience was when we took a cab from the ferryboat back to the hotel....next time we will use the Tram instead much cheaper and more reliable....overall the hotel and staff were great and very comfortable. The hotel was very comfortable for just lounging around. We went to the restaurant next door excellent food a little pricey but delicious. There are many restaurants in the area to choose from. There is also a little corner store with drinks, snacks, alcohol & cigarettes. We will be going back to this hotel but we will use the tram instead of taxis.

Het hotel ligt in een rustige straat. Enige pinpunt is de wifi..deze is te zwak. Medewerker van het hotel zei dat dit te maken had met het feit dat het een oude wijk is.

De hotel zelf vind ik geen 4 sterren waard, omdat ik heb 10 nachten bij hun gebleven, de bedden zijn nooit verschoond alleen wordt de bedden netjes gemaakt op hun manier en de kamer wordt helaas ook niet schoongemaakt, er wordt wel elke dag schoon handdoeken en pullbakken geleegd. ontbijt is matige voor me, maar het is wel smaak verschil, elke ochtend is bijna het zelfde buffet alleen de fruit, een cake en gebak wordt gewisseld, maar helaas de cake, gebak en de koffie is niet te eten geen smaak.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - Die Bilder täuschen definitiv! Unser Zimmer war sehr sehr klein für zwei Personen auf dem Foto sah es allerdings riesig aus! Wir hatten einen normalen Standard Doppelzimmer. Wir haben uns dann beschwert und direkt ein neues größeres Zimmer bekommen. Das Frühstück war eine reine Katastrophe von meinem Essen kam ein Haar raus und die Auswahl war sehr klein sowie es hat uns nicht geschmeckt. Das Bad war schön die Zimmer-Einrichtung war auch okay aber durch die Bilder die hier enthaltenen ist hat man eine andere Vorstellung. Leider waren wir deshalb enttäuscht.

There was nothing in place to mitigate the sound that was coming in. The room itself was in poor condition and wasn't very comfortable. The hotel has great potential but many things need to be improved. The location is good as it is walking distance to Sultanahmet Square. The Wi-Fi was very weak or non-existent

Das Frühstück war auch super. Das hotel ist super gelegen und nur 5 min zu Fuß von der Blauen Morschee entfernt. Vielen Dank für den Service und die schöne Zeit in Istanbul.

Rester seulement deux jours mais pas déçu !

We had a larger room which seemed much nicer than the smaller ones, although the smaller ones had a better view. I highly recommend this place comma especially if you can afford to the larger room.

- Ravi (8/5): Nice hotel and close to touristic area - The hotel is located in the touristic place of Sultanahmet and the staff were friendly. The hotel was kept clean by the staff by the time I arrived back every evening. We were impressed by the nightmanager Fatih who was exteemely friendly and helpul. It was extremely easy to book taxi from and tk the hotel at anytime. I was also guided on how to visit prominent places for cheaper prices. A map and a visiting card was given which was helpful. On the down side, the breakfast was terrible and food was cold if you went for breakfast at around 9 am. Also breakfast did not have labels next to the food tray. I had to ask the staff if there was meat in certain dishes. There was a standard breakfast every day and it was ok.

- Bilal (4/5): below average hotel but good location - My wife and I traveled to Istanbul in last week of November. We booked Sokolu Pasha hotel as it looked very good in the pix. Upon our arrival there found out that the room we booked was not available. They said that one room like that available but right on top of reception and by the street (noisy). we were supposed to be there for a week. I told them to give us a different room but they said "not available". the staff was not helpful at all, they didn't care about our needs. Morning breakfast was average. very next morning i went to the desk and told them that i need to check out as I was not satisfied with my stay and the first and only thing they said "You know you have already paid for this hotel and it's non refundable". they didn't care about their customers and their needs. Any good hotel would have asked "why? what can we do to make it better?" but this hotel did not. only good thing was that it was 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Pix don't do justice, rooms are very small. There is no T.V. just a compute monitor and doesn't have any English Channels as they told me "No satellite, only cable". I had high hopes when i booked this hotel but was extremely disappointed. we booked another hotel close by and could not have been more happier. will never stay here again. New Jersey, U.S.A.

- karen (10/5): Amazing Hospitality - Hotel was perfect location within a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The staff were so nice and helpful in activities and best routes to take. The friendliness really made my holiday spectacular.

Breakfast is amazing with an open buffet, comfortable seating boasting with ambience. Stepping into this hotel was like stepping back in time, but only better with Wifi.
- Mrs H (10/5): Lovely rustic hotel - I really enjoyed staying here. Now only is it incredibly close to pretty much every attraction but the hotel itself is excellent. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Everything is clean and in working order. I will definitely stay there again if I was to visit Istanbul.

- Kaleidogurl (8/5): Very close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia! - The hotel is ideal for travellers who want to explore the old city, whilst experiencing traditional Ottoman surroundings. Our room was spacious and the open buffet breakfast provided a hearty start to our day. The staff we interacted with were pleasant (especially Fatih) and attentive. My only criticism would be that the payment for our stay was taken in full upon arrival despite stipulating that we would settle in cash upon checkout, which we were told at checkout - which may be more of an Expedia issue. Overall, good value for money if you're looking to explore during the day and want to rest at night.

- Otaiba (6/5): Squeaky Bed - Decoration is beautiful. Yet, whats behind the scenes is terrible. Bed is broken and has a very loud noise at any move you or your partner makes. I am a heavy sleeper but when my wife gets up from the bed, I used to wake up immediately. Ventilation is terrible to the extent that both, me and my wife, had stuffy nose. AC needs a full day to cool up. I used to keep the card inserted near the door so the room stays on and the AC doesn't shut off. Breakfast is not a buffet and is normal!! A dog welcomed us when we first got into the hotel which was rude because my wife is scared of dogs and allergic to pets hair. Oh not mentioning the squeaky bathroom door handle and the loud shower.
- Mohsin (8/5): Very helpful and courteous staff - Nice hotel with very helpful and courteous staff, specially Fattah (Front desk) and Zubeir (Manager). Very helpful and willing to provide guidance with tourist attractions and shopping in Istanbul and Sultanhamet. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. As per recommendation by Fattah we took 4 hour afternoon Bosphorous cruise and cable car ride. It was wonderful and view of Istanbul from top of the hill where we rode the cable car was amazing.
