Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - room close to the pool . Possible to park the car
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel itself inside is alright. Staffs are very helpful. But the only problem i had was the access to hotel as the condition of the street is very poor which you can't blame the hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The check in was very fast. Room very clean. The staff very helpful. And the swimming pool are good and clean. Good for family
- Jess (10/5): - This hotel is so cute. It’s located 30 min from the beach and close to shopping and food areas. It’s a little hidden but surrounded by other places like it. If you understand what to expect from traveling abroad you’ll absolutely love this place, it’s quaint and small so you get taken care of very well. As a woman traveling with one other friend I felt safe here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - the TV had poor reception and there was no safe to lock up our money, passports. the break fast was very basic and we noticed electrical cable in pool so we didnt use it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Basic but comfortable and lovely staff - Just a stopover from long flight but was greeted warmly showed to our room which was basic but comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were attentive, helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the staff there were all very friendly. room was spacious and basic necessity met. bed was comfy, sheets and pillow was clean. just needed a few changes, like the shower head, tap and hot water kettle.
- Cody (10/5): - Only stayed here for a night as we flew in late and just wanted a place to rest that wasn't too far from the airport. Location was great for that and place was nice especially for the price, really comfortable bed and good wifi as well. Super friendly staff too, all in all a great stay .
- jessica (8/5): - Excelent customer service, very attentive. The location is not so bad.
- Suelen (10/5): Perfect budget travelling - I was surprised with a great customer service we received at all time. Excellent!!
- Allissa (8/5): Close to the airport! - I stayed here for a single night prior to an early morning flight based on the proximity to the airport. I arrived late and didn’t have time to check out any other amenities, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
- Joanne (10/5): Good value for money. - This guest house is in a quiet local area which some people may find isolated and too far away from the action. A shuttle service is provided although it was not available during our stay. A 20 minute walk past shops and numerous places eat will get you to the beach and Legian street which is an enjoyable area to explore. Our 4 night stay was very relaxing. The room was confortable with hot water and satellite TV. A tasty choice of American or Indonesian breakfast was provided every morning in the pleasant courtyard. The staff had limited English but we're very helpful and friendly. Overall our stay was great. We would recommend this guesthouse to anyone lookingfor a more local experience in Bali away from the large tourist hotels. If you enjoy peaceful surroundings and are a little more adventurous this place is a good choice. For the price, this Legian guesthouse is great value.
- Edward (10/5): Great budget hotel. - Legian guest house is a great budget hotel. The beds are comfortable and they keep the place nice and tidy.
Next door is a travel group that can help you get around to other parts of Indonesia.
The pool and bar area are okay.
The staff are great. Willing to help, especially because my trip to Bali had some unexpected events. They were awesome hosts and helped out with everything.
For the price, you can't do much better and while it's a little off the main strip, renting a scooter helps you get around Bali easily.
- lisa (2/5): FAKE REVIEWS - How anyone can rate this place as 4 out of 5 is beyond me! The room had flees in the bed, the doors were falling apart, it stank of damp the shower stank of surage. The pool was filthy dirty. We booked and paid online for 10 nights following past reviews, we only stayed overnight due to late arrival and left the next morning never to return! Would not have stayed overnight if we could have stayed elsewhere. Can only assume they write their own reviews!
- Maree (4/5): - I would not stay there again. Reception unattended until around 11am. I tried to order dinner around 7pm and they were completely out of food except for wheat noodles which I could not eat. Some chicken, but no salad or vegetable, no fish ect, all of which was on the menu. No restaurants close by either. Just a very poorly run guesthouse.
- Graham (10/5): Bali Hidden Gem - A small holel (13 rooms) in a quiet location away from main tourist areas. A short walk to mainly Indonesian restaurants, but Cosmic Diner & McDonalds nearby too. Standard / Superior rooms a bit basic but Deluxe rooms adequate. All rooms clean and tidy. Deluxe roms are around a good but small swimming pool which we had all to our self most of the time. Good breakfast in the morning, available from 7-11 am. The best feature of this hotel however is the friendly and very helpful staff.
- robert (8/5): You get what you paid for - The location of the guest house is 125meters down a dirt road off sunset road. Yes it was in a very quiet area but there wasn't much around it in close proximity. There was sunset star and Bali udung in walking distance, but that was about it. The room was run down, the wooden bed head was rotting away and the air-conditioning was low wattage and took a long time to cool down the room. The bathroom is not modern but spacious and like I said" You get what you paid for".
- sonny (8/5): personable guest house - Booked from review and was not disappointed. Rooms clean , staff personable , location skeptical but dissipated after great service from staff. Taxi to Legian or Kuta around 20-40,000 rupiah $2-4 Aussie dollars depending on traffic or wait for the free shuttle van. Pool great to sit in and guest house food tasty and cheap. Location private and secluded from traffic amongst the local people residence. May not tick the boxes for people who like a large pool and swim up bar as this is not it. Staff made it a great stay and other guests were friendly and mixed in nationality
- Verified traveler (8/5): would definitely stay here again - Enjoyed it, staff were friendly and helpful. Was really good for the price
- Mr.&Mrs.Olyver (8/5): Great Rooms & Amazing Staff!!! - My wife and I had a very good experience at Legian Guest House.
Highlights are the staff friendliness, room comfort and cleanliness, free shuttle every hour to Legian Beach, extremely affordable meals, nice pool and great privacy for couples!
The downside is the location, it's fairly close to the beach area but the street of the hotel is very bumpy and hard to drive on.
Overall experience inside the hotel was GREAT!
Recommended rate 90% due to bad road ;)
- Ann (8/5): looking for a quiet, friendly, affordable Base? - The staff at this Guest House is really what makes the stay so special. They treat you like family. The rooms are serviced everyday, the surrounding areas are cleaned everyday. Transport and tours can be organized for you. Shuttle bus to the beach is available every day. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. There is a variety of food available from 8.00 am till late. Out the front of the Guest House is a nice little area to sit under the trees and have a cuppa away from the hustle of life.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place! - Clean large rooms with great bathrooms and air con. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Handy shuttle into town. Wi fi could be improved but overall a fantastic 14 night stay and will go back.
- christine (6/5): - Very friendly staff, basic room but comfy. Pool is nice.
- Gareth (6/5): Superb Value - We stayed one night as we had a 2.30am flight so we just wanted somewhere simple we could relax after some last minute shopping.
- David (6/5): Family hospitality and warm smiles - It was the wonderful staff....warm and friendly, the refreshing swimming pool and the convenience of their free shuttle service that made up for the poor location, broken reception phone in my deluxe room,, lousy wifi and the noisy breaking of their own curfew times by local guests...Look, if this guesthouse lifts its standards then it will deserve to be included on any outstanding accommodation list in Bali..
But from the owner through to the shuttle drivers, fantastic, kind people
- Allan (10/5): - Very good staff great would recommend best value for money
- Deborah (10/5): Away from the crowds! - This hotel is located about a 30 min walk to the beach next to an abandoned rice paddy, so there is a lot of green and its quiet, away from the main roads. There is however a shuttle bus to the beach that runs every hour and will do pick ups which you arrange at reception before you leave. Around the area (out of sight of the hotel) are some metal and plastic recycling depots which you may not like. We hired a scooter from the hotel very cheaply and used this hotel as our base for travelling around Bali. There are no hawkers in the area so that was a relief. Whether you decide on this spot depends on how keen you are to be close to the beach but remember close to the beach means more expensive and crowds and hawkers.
- Richard (8/5): Good stay - Really good hotel. Friendly staff. Sufficient breakfast. Very good value for money. Location is the only concern; not very close to nightlife, restaurants or beaches. Need transport. Overall very good.
- Marie anne (10/5): recommend this hotel - Had a wonderful stay at this quiet small hotel, lovely staff, clean, safe friendly.Easy taxi ride to shops, beaches etc.
- Alan Frederick (10/5): our stay at the legion - Staff very helpful And friendly value for money
- Polly (10/5): Amazing people, serene location - As young first time travellers to Bali, we were blown away by the amazing hospitality of the hotel staff! We stayed at Legain Guest House for the entire trip (6 nights 7 days including later check-out at 8pm for $25AUD extra).
I booked the standard room, however we were slightly disappointed with the low ceiling (claustrophobic!), and opted to upgrade to the deluxe room (extra $15aud per night) DEFINITELY GO FOR THE DELUXE! Pool side view and the room itself is so much better. Getting to the guest house should cost no more than $10aud from Denpasar airport. Tell the taxi to turn the meter on! Blue Bird taxi company is the best as they always use the meter.
The staff greet you and are very helpful and sweet. At one point my partner had fallen ill, and the manager Ketut gave us advice on the cost and what to do- plus he personally drove us to the medical clinic in Kuta !! Amazing. We could not be more greatful.
They offer you great day activities with a driver costing ~$60aud depending on where you want to go. This can be discussed the day prior so the driver can prepare for the day. Scooters are also available for hire for $5aud per day.
We loved our stay and really miss it!
A word of advice: the guest house is 1 min by car off road from the main road. Sometimes taxi drivers don't know where to go. Take a card from the hotel with you so you have the address- remember Nakula Street and you'll be fine!
- Kavitha (6/5): Nice place, but rather far walk to Legian - The guesthouse was a nice enough place for our stay. The staff were kind and helpful too.
However, we weren't able to be as mobile as we could as the road leading to the guesthouse was constantly flooded and in bad condition. No fault of the guesthouse, of course. But it did factor into our plans to go out. We had no choice but to rely on the guesthouse shuttle all the time. The staff were kind enough to arrange one for us (at the nearest drop-off point) but only at certain times as the traffic was pretty horrid year-end.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice relaxed hotel. - Firstly, this hotel is not correctly located on the Hotels.com website map - but the GPS co-ordinates seem correct. It is on the other side of Sunset Road, which can be very busy as expect traffic delays.
The hotel is located down an unpaved side road, which can get muddy in the wet season. As it is not located near main shopping areas or the beach, they offer a free shuttle which is good.
The hotel is compact, with a restaurant and has a good pool. The design of the hotel does rely on guests being considerate of others (which did happen on my stay). The rooms were well appointed although international TV channels seemed limited. The staff were very helpful and pleasent.
The main problem was with construction next door that went on until well after 11pm. I was moved to another room, which was quieter but the noise was still apparent.
Despite the construction, overall, the hotel suited me fine.
- Leigh (8/5): Budget price with luxury features - Wayan and his staff made me feel so welcome and they were very easy to deal with, from communications prior to arriving, to airport pick up, and service while staying there. I stayed in a Deluxe pool side room and the mattress and pillows were the most comfortable I have experienced anywhere!! Its a wee bit out of the way but the shuttle bus goes in daily at 10am and a taxi to cnr Double Six and Jalan Legian is only around $2 AUD. The pool is lovely and the rooms clean. Very affordable and I would definitely stay there again.
- karen (6/5): You get what you pay for. - Lovely staff who tried really hard to please. Rooms very tired with a cheap fix up paint job. They ran out of towels and couldn't give us clean towels on our second day and could only give us one beach towel to share. The free transport offered was irratic and on one day none at all as driver didn't turn up. Roads to Guest House were dirt tracks and we were too far to walk anywhere. Did have the best soup ever in the restaurant (which consisted of three tables for four) but that was the highlight.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel but in an odd location - The hotel it's self is beautiful. Lovely staff. Nice pool. Nice rooms. The location is not great though. It's a bit far from anything and down an unpaved dirt road with lots of pot holes that taxi drivers make a stink about, if they can even find it in the first place. It's next to a field and some local houses which gives it a nice secluded feel, but you will be reliant on someone to drive you to do anything. Especially if you are female, I would not suggest walking back at night. Also the rooms get a lot of Mosquitos some how. I kept everything closed and it was like they'd multiple in a couple hours. The hotel staff will spray when they make your room but it didn't last long enough. They give you a repellent to plug in which also didn't seem to do anything. Overall I had a good experience for the couple nights I stayed but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.
- Barry (8/5): Excellent Value - I had the upgraded "Pool view room," which was quite comfortable. The staff really try to make your stay enjoyable, and provided shuttle service to the beach each day. If you're willing to take a shuttle into the city or beach area, this hotel can work out quite well. I got a great rate on the room through Expedia.
- Pamela (8/5): Little oasis - Staff could not do enough for us very attentive service. Will go the extra mile to ensure your happy. Shuttle service handy comfy bed.
- Ken J (6/5): Great customer service but Wifi didn't work. - Kind of remote area hotel next to a run down poor area. It is hard to complain about this hotel because they really try and were understanding when I decided not to stay the eight nights that we booked and paid for. The hotel and hotels.com advertised that the Legian Guest House has WIFI. It technically does but it did not work over a 24 hr. period. I moved around everywhere inside and outside to see if I could get the signal and it was weak and cut out frequently, so much so that it took 10 mins to open a simple email! Also the breakfast was nothing to write home about. Sugar water orange juice, coffee ok, two fried eggs and white bread toast. The service was nice but the breakfast selection was lacking and not much effort on their part. Also the swimming pool was the size of four large bath tubs so don't expect to swim laps. I was disappointed about this because I am wanted to swim daily. The room itself was very large and the air conditioner was not adequate for the size of room. It never really got cool and we felt a little uncomfortable with the humidity. Again, the service is friendly and excellent! It is really hard to complain about this place because it was only US $35. per night for two people with breakfast. They were also good about letting me out of the other seven nights and allowing hotels.com to refund the money I paid for the entire time.
- Giulie (10/5): Little Gem - Wonderful little place to stay. Staff were very friendly and always accommodating. Hotel is a little way out from the main streets of seminyak but the hotel will shuttle you in up into 5.30pm. Taxi ride back is about 1 to 2 dollars. It,s located in a quiet spot so you can get plenty of relaxation.
- Anish (6/5): Nice staff - The staff are nice, helpful and the it is worth to stay for what you pay. 2-3 km far from the happening place such as Seminyak and Kuta however, can get there by taxi for 3 dollars approx. The place is good if you like a quite environment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - This guest house is locally owend and run with staff that couldn't be more helpfull. Would recommend this to any traveller. Perfect place to stay and the beers are cheap :)
- tracey (10/5): great value for money - Cheap food , room and the staff are very nice and a free lift in to town , if you need a taxi it's only $2 to $3 dollar . I will stay again.
- Kym (10/5): AWESOME GUEST HOUSE .... - DO NOT let the lane way in put you off because behind the gates is a hidden treasure... it may not look like it but over sunset strip you are right in the middle of legian and seminyak...super friendly staff... who will get you practically whatever you need .. car ..bike.. recommendations for food and shopping ...Quiet, Clean, everything you need and Low cost ... great cheap food.. room service and lovely breakfast .. I will be back for sure with my son and husband ...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Legian Guest House, Bali- Superb! - Very friendly and helpful staff. A little way from Seminyak but the taxi fare was very cheap and the guest house is worth it.
- Ben H (10/5): Nice hotel good service outside the center - Very well kept, clean and extremely friendly staff. We booked a standard room 2 nights and they upgraded to deluxe for free. They pay attention to all the little details, service is 4 or even 5 star level but 2 star price. Location is a little far out on a very rough little lane, but every taxi driver we met knew exactly where it was, about 15 minutes to Legian/Kuta. Free shuttle to beach is useful but only runs 5 times a day and still a long walk from Legian main street.
- SARAH (10/5): - Facilities: great value for money; Service: Go the extra mile; Cleanliness: Immaculate;
Legian night market is a great place to eat nearby. Good Wifi access.
- Mr. Gold (10/5): Great stay - Can't say enough about the staff. Very friendly and helpful, free shuttle to beach, discounts on tours and fast boat. Great well kept room nice pool. We had excellent time and will be back. Away from the noise and traffic . Couple thumbs up...
- Amanda (8/5): Value for your hard earned money. - We had a fantastic time, the guest house is a little out of the way however the shuttle is available to take you to town.
The room was clean and well maintained complete with air con and a fridge.
The grounds were nice with a lovely pool.
When you turn into the street your heart does sink, hang in there you will have a great stay with some lovely people.
- steven (10/5): - Facilities: State of the art, Home away from home, Outstanding; Value: Great deal, Bargain, A steal; Service: Go the extra mile, Outstanding, Phenomenal, a +++++++++++++++++++++++; Cleanliness: Spotless, Immaculate, Beautiful;
very highly recommended if you dont like hustle n bustle this is the place and if you do well only 5 mins away .highliy reccommended. enjoy
