The pool staff Lisa and Alex basically become one of our family, helping with the kids, local advice and genuinely good fun people. The family suite was beautiful, spacious, and fully equipped with all the facilities we needed for a comfortable stay. The large pool was a highlight for our family, especially for the kids. We also really enjoyed the food at Miss Q Restaurant—it was fresh and delicious. Overall, a great choice for families visiting Hanoi.

Was much appreciated that after checkout we could still stay and use the pool area and showers etc at the gym as our train didnt leave until 7.45pm. Meant we could make the most of our time in Hanoi and freshen up before leaving on the overnight train. Great staff.

- SteveRochie (8/5): City Break - apartment - An excellent stay for 3 night Hanoi city visit. Superb two bedroom two bathroom apartment ideal for both couples and family groups. Had much more than we needed with a kitchen including washing machine. All staff were excellent and polite and made the effort to communicate with guests over meals or at the bar. Miss Qs restaurant serves a good breakfast although had a lot of children and was quite noisy during our visit at breakfast time (parents not the hotels fault). Dinner was excellent and recommended especially great friendly service by Miss Bich Van. Cocktail bar is very good and has a long happy hour offering deals. Service in bar was great although two staff working hard to make drinks for the bar, restaurant and pool area. Overall a great stay and recommend particularly if you wish more accommodation space. Miss Qs restaurant is worth a visit for lunch or dinner even if you are not residents. Thankyou 😀👍👍
- Adventure08696481337 (4/5): The worst night sleep I’ve ever had - We stayed here for our last night in Hanoi and wanted to get a good night sleep before waking early for the flight home the next day. It was hardest bed I’ve ever slept in and the worst night sleep I’ve ever had. There was construction noise all night so loud it sounded like the building was going to fall down and we could hear every noise from the people in the next room most of the night. The hotel was alright apart from that but don’t stay if your aim is to get a good night sleep.

This is my second time visiting HaNoi and staying at the Somerset, and I can not say enough about how wonderful my experiences have been. Leaving!

There was noise from early morning all day long from the tennis court, which is also used by players who are not hotel guests. There was no possibility to open a window in the apartment and there was a feeling of suffocation.

Las instalaciones son muy buenas, con piscina, sauna, parque infantil, mesa de ping pong y billar. A 15 minutos andando de la ciudad antigua, y a 1 minuto de la prision de Hoa Lo. En la planta baja hay un pequeño supermercado con todo lo necesario, y también varios restaurantes

Our room was quiet even though it was facing the main street. We love our room. Staff was attentive and helpful. Our driver who picked us up from the airport was friendly and informative. We will definitely stay here again.

- lper3 (10/5): LOVED SOMERSET GRAND HANOI! - We had a lovely and very comfortable few days stay in this property. The communication from direct enquiry to late check-in and very early check out we couldn’t fault. From our experience, the hospitality and service we received was truly generous. We booked the 3 bedroom apartment being a family of 5 and it was the right size for our needs. Our room had the view of the city and we thoroughly enjoyed the daily movements of the locals The location is within walking distance to main attractions and we walked mostly everywhere. The neighbourhood we felt safe to walk in and out even during late at night. The facilities like spa, gym , lounge, outdoor table tennis, outdoor pool , pickle ball club all within the premises. We utilise them all and had an amazing relaxing time when we are just in hotel. There’s also a mini mart and a few shops connected to the hotel which made it convenient. Highly recommend this property. We would consider to stay here again should we be back in Hanoi.

The two-bedroom room we booked was spacious, well arranged, and comfortable for the three of us. Overall, everything was great; however, the only downside was the noise. There was a late-night soccer celebration with large groups of motorbikes riding along the main road from around 11:00 pm to 2:00 am, which made it difficult to sleep. With better noise insulation, this would have been a perfect stay. Overall rating: 4.5 stars.

The apartments are spacious and very cost-effective, located right in the city’s main hotspot near a supermarket and great Indian restaurants. The staff are incredibly courteous and even granted us an early check-in on request. A special thanks to Ms. Irene and Blaine for their exceptional help. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hanoi!

- priyj2025 (8/5): Centrally located services apartments with great breakfast - We stayed at Somerset Grand Hanoi during our family holiday to Vietnam. Travelling as a group of nine, we booked both a three-bedroom and a two-bedroom apartment, which comfortably accommodated all of us. The apartments were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent, and the complimentary pool tables and table tennis were a big hit with our kids. The restaurant also offers a great à la carte menu with a good mix of Asian and Western dishes—we even enjoyed our New Year’s Eve dinner there, which was delicious. The property is extremely convenient, with ATMs and a convenience store located downstairs. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the hotel is centrally located, just a short walk to the Old Quarter and nearby shopping areas. The only minor suggestion would be to request apartments with wooden floors. We were initially allocated Apartment 2206, which had carpet and was due for refurbishment. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and a great option for families visiting Hanoi.

- Shailendra (4/5): Having stayed in 2 other hotels in Vietnam in this trip, this was the most disappointing place but if one needs space fo - Well located, about 1 km walking from Hoan Kiem lake. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a separate drawing room, lots of space. Well appointed kitchen with cutlery and washing machine. Courteous staff. Multiple issues - Very dated property, quite run down and old furniture - Air conditioning wasn’t very effective, though we didn’t mind it given it was reasonably cold weather - Breakfast spread was very basic and completely unlike typical 4/5 star hotels. Very limited choice for vegetarians - Wrong marketing of the pickle ball facility. It’s actually a 5 court facility seemingly operated by a 3rd party operator and available to other than guests. We tried for 3 days and didn’t get a single slot for 1 hour and the court is open from 7am - 10pm! If you advertise with a photo, then it is assumed that that’s a dedicated facility of the hotel and not some 3rd party facility that happens to be part of the overall place. Kids were very disappointed
- Audrey (4/5): I was heartbroken because of reception - I don't like how the reception threatened me about calling the police before checking their records first. I bought breakfast for 4 people, all of us are hotel guests. I even checked with reception and they told us that we could already proceed to the restaurant. But while we were eating, the restaurant staff was asking us to pay again. I said I already paid in the reception and that they should check with reception. A few minutes later, a staff from the reception approached our table and threatened us that they will tell the police. We tried to inform them (over and over, i believe, 4 or 5 times?) and asked them to please check their records. We went down after eating and showed our receipts. They checked their records and that's when they realized their mistake. They offered to have one breakfast free, but I refused. I don't think that will be enough to compensate for the emotional roller coaster that they put me through when I was there to relax and enjoy a good breakfast with my parents. I really would try to gaslight myself all throughout my stay, and would try to understand them. But the experience only made me clearly see how they are not very friendly to guests. All my good experiences about Hanoi was completely erased. I would always choose hotels that I feel would treat me fairly, but this experience left a bad taste in the mouth - being accused for something i did not do, and being threatened to be reported to the police because of their own mistake has left me heartbroken. From now on, no more Somerset in my hotel list forever.

- amybristolBristol (10/5): Brilliant hotel with huge rooms, helpful staff and a great restaurant. - We stayed for 2 nights over New Year. We loved the hotel. The service in the restaurant was the best we received in the whole of Vietnam. The food at dinner was also delicious. Our kids loved the table tennis and we really appreciate the guys in the gym/pool area keeping them entertained! It’s a great location with an easy walk to the lake, cathedral and train street. It was a 20-25 min walk to the market and mausoleum. Our 3 bed apartment was huge with toiletries, hairdryer, laundry detergent and drinking water dispenser provided. There was also an iron and board. We had a great view of the NY fireworks from my parent’s apartment on the 23rd floor! The hotel provided free drinks and canapés for guests in the lobby at New Year. This was a lovely surprise. There is a supermarket and cafe serving British food, Vietnamese and Indian curries in the shopping centre around the corner from the reception area. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend to others!
- Wai Fong (8/5): New, comfortable and well maintained. However, location is far from tourist spots like Old Quarter - The apartment is new, well maintained and clean. It is also very comfortable, with some amenities such as washing machine and dryer provided. As we booked 2 units with city view, one of the units' bedroom is looking directly to the wall of the building next door. Therefore, there is really no view except seeing the neighbouring wall.
