Dennis (7/5): Prima verblijf, maar gedateerd! - - vriendelijk personeel (alleen de oudere vrouw achter de receptie was echt niet aardig). - kamers zijn heel schoon. Schoonmakers zijn echt goed bezig! - wat meer uit het toeristische centrum, maar daardoor wel echt het gevoel dat je in Hanoi bent. - beveiligers waren super aardig. - reservering was duidelijk gemaakt via Booking. Vrouw achter de receptie deed moeilijk en niet vriendelijk. Uiteindelijk toch kamer gekregen, maar wat een gedoe. - eerste kamer stonk ongelooflijk naar rook. Vrouwelijk receptioniste wilde ons eerst geen andere kamer geven, na nogmaals verzoek toch gekregen. - zwembad ziet er op de foto’s mooi uit, maar moet echt een upgrade krijgen. Planken zitten los rond het zwembad. - Kamers zijn heel schoon, maar zeer gedateerd.

Although not in city centre, we enjoyed the more authentic vietnam vibe in surrounding area. Decent hotel for a few days The swimming pool deck (wood surrounding pool) was in really poor condition, style and quality of hotel (furniture) outdated. We had a leaky bath.
Vivien (10/5): - Séjour très agréable au calme à quelques minutes du centre historique. Pour les familles qui cherchent un cocon pour qq jours sur Hanoï c’est idéal. La cuisine dans l’appart est un vrai plus pour un hôtel de ce genre, la piscine est incroyable (chaude, propre, serviette,…) et la salle de gym donne directement sur elle. Supermarché juste en face, ATM, restaurants de rue,… tout est là ! Le personnel est formidable, bref ici on se sent comme à la maison !

The pool was amazing, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made the stay super comfortable. The apartment had everything we needed – the beds were really comfy, and the couch was great for relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. All around, a great place. The manger of the hotel was very unapologetic, rude and couldn’t care less what room we were given. She suggested booking direct if you want to make sure you get the rooms you pay for. Booked an executive 3 bedroom with balcony which was good once we were allowed into our room. We also booked a 2 bedroom executive room which was supposed to have a view of west lake but you could not see the lake. All staff other than the manger who we met were extremely nice and friendly which is a shame as the hotel could be and should be so much better. Much better places to stay in and around the west lake area of Hà Nội.

There’s a supermarket just across the road in general gonna be much better You can’t really walk anywhere, but then again grab taxi doesn’t cost anything and it’s easily ordered on the Grab app

Ponekham (10/5): - Very quiet and further away but I really enjoyed the hotel. Easy to get in and out. Everyone from the front desk, security, door and maid were super friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant downstairs with room service was a plus. Oir family enjoyed the pool and the gym with great air conditioner with pool side view was perfect. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone. My only complaint is the carpet in the bedrooms. If that can get removed (very old) I would give this hotel a 5 star. It’s not fancy but the all around experience was great.

Natalie (10/5): All the staff including security were great. Apartment was perfect - Apartment had all the amenities you needed, nicely furnished, comfortable beds and pillows. It was walking distance to everything. We had a view of the lake and swimming pool and gardens. It had a restaurant that was open for lunches and dinner, excellent food. It had a beautiful, well equipped gym and very clean. You could walk out the gate past the pool and walk on the sidewalk along the lake. All kinds of lovely little coffee shops along the way. The pool wasn’t heated and the water was ice cold. It was unfortunate that we could look at it every day from our living room but couldn’t use.
Lioba (9/5): Superb - The lake view from room 388 was great, and the apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. The downstairs restaurant was very good. We had an issue with the AC not working in the lounge, and after the first repair failed the Hotel Manager, Freddie, stepped in. He really understands what exceptional customer service is, got the issues fixed, and followed up to make sure everything else in our stay was perfect.

Also i stayed for more than 1 month in this Somerset and i got some very unpleasants commment from the Manager and the Main Receptionist miss SÁU. I am on buisiness travelling and those vietnamese people are only frendly with westerners. Meaning white people. The Reception Staff , were terrible to me as i was strainded in Hanoi for some paperworks, I got a very unpleasant remarks by a lady from the staff as i was transferring my money via bank. She keeps telling me if i am not paying she is going to send some handsome boys to my room. I got 2 visits from my vietnamese cousin and i got the remark by this lady --There is a beautifull Anh coming to your room--- Very unpleaseant I went to the bank to get my vietnamese VND and i came back to pay, she asked me WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO BE THAT RICH ? I HAVE NEVER EVER GOT THAT KIND OF CONVERSATION WITH A STAFF, FROM SOMERSET CHANCELORD COURT IN SG to SOMERSET in HAI BA TRUNG HANOI. Today 23.02 i got several meetings online and i could not make a transfert straight away, so a man came to my appartement and he stayed for 30 minutes to claim the transfer money as i was in a private conversation. He standed the door wide open to wait till i pay.... His name is GIANG and the lady name is SÁU. I NEEDED TO REPORT THAT SITUATION AS IT WAS VERY VERY UNPLEASANT FOR A SOMERSET STANDARD. I am French and speak perfectly vietnamese and i did not appreciate all the bad remarks and conversation we have got with those 2 people. Loan. Appt 608

The room also brings the 90s vibe. - Nice, polite & professional staff. - The Japanese restaurant was great. - Some facilities are too old. Need to replace, especially the toilet goods. - TV should be upgraded as well. Not just the screen was too old, they're using the weird type of TV cable with not so many watchable channels. An appropriate TV box could be a temporary solution. - Not really enough kitchen equipment for you to do the cooking stuff. But I believe not so many ppl would cook here.
