surfam2012 (10/5): great transit hotel - this hotel gave us very good accomodation. at least provide clean comfy bed, clean bathroom, and good air con. the room was small and narrow but thats ok for us because we arrive almost midnight and had our next flight in the morning. the reception speak basic english and help us book taxi, then the taxi came in a minute. good location very close to tan son nhat airport ho chi minh. this hotel can be reached by walking if you are a backpacker that is not carrying any large suitcases and not travel with little kids.

There are lots of restaurants and conveniences nearby, and we were able to WALK to the airport the next day, so the location was perfect for what we needed. The room was clean and staff was very nice. Would definitely stay again!
Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - The hotel is near to the market. The staff there was friendly and borrowed their bathrooms for us even though it was only 6 in the morning and we had not check-in yet. However, we found a small cockroach in our room.
Road801614 (2/5): Grotesk schlecht / Abhorrently bad - We arrived completely exhausted at 00.45am. Were told that the room, which we had booked two days in advance, was not available due to current renovations. They sent us to a hotel around the corner, where we had to pay more than previously agreed to for a room that (I) hasn't seen a cleaner since 1950, (II) smelled intensely of smoke (I'm getting lung cancer even thinking about it now) and (III) provided a bed as soft and comfortable as solid rock. To top it all off, none of the staff was friendly (in neither hotel), nor did any single one of them speak one word of English (we were connected to someone on the phone, who after one minute just ceased to speak after not even getting the most vital informations across). The only consolidation I have right now, writing this with disgust in my face on the edge of a bed I really am repulsed to sleep in, is that I will only have to spend three hours in this room. My recommendation to anyone reading this post is thus to stay far, far away from Erato Hotel. You are better off spending the night on a wooden chair of an airport waiting area for free.
828shaid (8/5): Good airport hotel - Efficient for an overnight stay nearby the airport. clean, air conditioned, hot waters, has elevator, ok beds. About 1km from airport. Several eating options around the street (also Starbucks Coffee).
Anne (10/5): - The restaurants near the hotel are very tasty and the price is reasonable. The hotel staff are very nice and polite!
Danh (8/5): - Came here twice. The room was worth the best for its price and location. Staffs are friendly and attentive, they’re always there when you give a call. The hotel is about 5 mins of driving to the Tan Son Nhat airport, you can easily catch a Grab car to get there with around $1 or $2 and like in a heartbeat. There’s a traditional food store famously called Bun Dau Mam Tom which is 2 mins of walking from the hotel and a shopping mall which is just 2 or 3 blocks from there. There’s also a convenient shop on the other direction. Definitely recommended as I am a tourist who was on a 4 days vacation at Ho Chi Minh city. make sure you keep some cash in vietnam currency to pay for miscellaneous things you happen to need.

This is a clean hotel only a couple of hundred metres from the airport. No breakfast but a great pho shop right next door. Good hotel for our purpose. Recommended
TariqQsahib (6/5): WALK TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT - This hotel is acceptable because of its proximity to the airport. The rooms are small but quite clean, with a nice bed and flat screen TV. The Air conditioning was efficient. There are some decent restaurants and supermarkets in the same block.

CanadianD30 (4/5): Poor rooms - The only reason anyone would stay here is because it’s close to the airport. There is no sidewalk to the hotel from the airport, so you literally have to walk on busy road to get there. The elevator and the room smelled strongly like cigarette smoke and the customer service was terrible. Also, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE, NORMALLY COMPLEMENTARY WATER! They charged us 20,000 baht for a SMALL water. The employees seemed like they did not want to be there at all. Pushed the room key at us and pointed to the elevator. Zero information at all! (Maybe tell people the little water is 20,000 baht) Overall the this “hotel” is a downer. A quick overnight and nothing more.

RayBabin (8/5): Good for a short stay - 10 minute walk from the airport, clean and basic for short term. If you stay longer you need to ask for cleaning and supplies like soap shampoo, water bottle ect.. There's a shuttle bus from the airport that goes directly downtown to the shopping district for 5000 vd. On the right side of the hotel at about 2 km there's a nice park.

Terrible experience but lucky we only needed to stay for a day as we had a flight the next morning. Please note that some taxi drivers will be grumpy about having to drop you off so close to the airportt. Overall. Bad experience here. Wouldn't ever come back. It was very cheap though. So you get what you pay for.
T7935CXchristinem (6/5): Decent for value of money - We arrived at HCMC at 130am, we booked this hotel because it is very close to the airport and we needed a place to sleep for a couple of hours before our next flight. When we arrived we found the receptionist sleeping in the lobby and had to wake him up to check us in. He told us that they are “fully booked”. I told him we already pre-paid and gave us a room. The room was decent, nothing fancy. This place is good to stay at for a couple of hours if you have an early flight, only 8 min walk to the airport.
se0eunp (2/5): The worst hotel ever - I frew to Vietnam late at night. I booked this hotel because of its location. I arrived there at about 2am. I knew that it was too late but the receptionist didn’t say anything when I said hello to him. Also, He just gave me the key without any explanation and pointed at our room. Once again, it’s too late, I tried to understand him. Unfortunately, the air-condition wasn’t working in my room. I had to wake him up, since he was sleeping on the sofa at the lobby. He was totally irritated that I asked to fix the air condition. He almost threw the remote control while he was fixing it. Meanwhile, he was saying something to other man who sitting at the lobby in Vietnamese. Of course, I had no idea of what he said. But, at least I’m not an idiot so I knew that was bad words. After fixed the air-conditioner, I asked the wi-fi password and he let me know very fast. All I had to do was ask him several times again and then he just left. I finally reached the limits of my patience and my sister wanted to move an other hotel. I guess he knew what he has done, because I asked his name so that I wanted to complain but he pretended not to understand English suddenly. Anyway, I paid to gain those worst memory and thanks god not to visit with my mom and dad sadly.. If you wanted to visit this hotel, avoid to check in at night time or when recieptionist are tired.

Dustin (10/5): Awesome, clean hotel very close to airport! - Very clean room, bed and bathroom. Fast check in. Was just a 10 minute walk from the airport. Easy to find with a large lit up sign above the other buildings. Perfect place to stay when getting in late from the airport and you won’t need to arrange a taxi to get here. Also has air conditioning which is a definitely needed! Very highly recommend staying here and it is a good price as well!
Dan (8/5): OK for a night - This hotel was just for a one night stay before continuing on. I arrived early evening and left again early morning. It is walking distance from the airport - but it's not a particularly easy walk! My suggestion from the airport is to walk through the car park - then cross the wide road (cross past and to the left of the flyover), then turn right and walk along the pavement. After that cross the next road (quite a challenge with the traffic - but just walk!), and then walk down the small road, then cross the next and turn left and walk on the pavement, past the ibis. Hotel is not far along this road. When leaving, go the same direction - but if you go to another Vietnam destination - go to the domestic terminal which is to the left of the main international one! Hotel itself is fine for a night (especially when tired). Bathroom is a wet room, but OK. Bed is reasonable. No food is available in the hotel - there is food outside but I didn't venture out due to tiredness!
Asiabackpacker2018 (8/5): Good solid hotel - Good clean hotel 5 minute walk from the airport best bang for your buck in airport region thumbs up , close to small local restaurants the walk can be difficult due to no official sideways so the walk from the airport definitely is not for everyone.
Gerri (6/5): Sheets not changed from previous guests - It’s close to airport and that’s why I chose to stay there. I won’t stay there again. Both the beds in my room were made but when I pulled the blankets on both beds there was a lot of hair from previous guests. The room was also dirty. Floored definitely wasn’t swept. Needless to say I was happy it was only for one night. I had to use one of the towels (they were clean) as a pillow case and slept on my sarongs. I had dinner at pho 10 right beside the hotel and it was great. Good price, food and excellent service. Erato wasn’t run down and rooms were in good shape just really dirty.
MichaelN5622 (4/5): Unfortunately a bad experience - We booked one night in this hotel, just because we had to catch a flight in the next morning. We have chosen this hotel due to it's rating and it's close distance to the airport. Unfortunately the air in to room was very bad and our small room didn't have any windows. Despite the very low price I would not spend another night in this room. Maybe we just didn't have luck with the room...
SM12 (6/5): Convenient. - Within walking distance to the airport. Good place to go if you have a flight arriving late at night or an early morning flight.
Alexander (6/5): Near the airport. Affordable - If you need a stopover near the airport. This place will do because of the price. Don't expect good service. We arrived at 2am and jetlag. The front desk clerk was not very nice. Maybe because we woke them up. This is actually normal for employees that work here in the graveyard shift. They will be sleeping when you arrive. Unless you are staying at a 4*and up hotel.
Danison (2/5): Terrible service - We arrived at 12:30am to 1AM for a layover at this Hotel to find out they did not 1. Find our reservation. 2. Hotel is fully booked. The young man in front was calling his supervisor and manager and was still unable to find our reservation. They mentioned that they will get another hotel aprox 200m away but we already felt unsafe of the area. We called another hotel to check room availability and stay there. We are still pending to get our refund but Expedia nor the hotel provided results.
Francis (6/5): - Room is very small and poor design. You cannot hang your clothes or tower on wall since there were no hooks. The shower is shared with toilet seat in the sane small bath room. After taking a shower, all wet including toilet paper. Only one good point is the location. Many popular restaurants around.
Hung (6/5): Needs to update some room - Service is good, hotel is close to the airport so it’s very convenient. We had three rooms there, two out of three were ok, but one room has no shower door or curtain so everything gets wet when we shower makes it is very inconvenient to keep your clothes or toiletries inside. No shelving inside the bathroom either. If you want to stay there make sure you checkout the room first.

Verified traveler (2/5): Mouse eat crackers inside out bags... - I booked this hotel due to the fact that it is just 10 min walking distance from the airport and we had early morning departure. Locating the hotel was not that difficult - you need to follow the circular road and cross side streets twice. Couple of times I saw rats running around and once I saw a dead rat on sidewalk. This should be giving me a clue.. Check in was fast. Room is very basic - it does not even has a single chair - just bed, small fridge and shower. Mattress is very firm, but it is common in Vietnam. Also, there is ample of street noise and closing windows help little due to thin walls. I could live with all these for just one night but next morning we discovered that mouse got inside one of our bags and ate packed crackers. And we've been on 4th floor. I do not require luxury and am budget traveller but mouse/rats in room is crossing the line. Avoid.

What put a bad taste in mouth was the 15000 vnd small water. Travelled all through south east Asia for 5 weeks and this was the first hotel that doesn't give a complimentary water - and stayed in cheaper places
RoyalB56 (6/5): Cheap and adequate - but watch the extras! - Stayed for a few hours before a flight. Just wanted a cheap shower and air conditioned place to chill. This was perfect. On check out, we were charged 15,000 VND for a bottle of water, we had spent out cash is preparation for leaving. Awkward! We ended up offering a credit card or AUD... the bloke let us off the 4500 VBD we didnt have... most places have complimentary water, so just beware. Its otherwise a fine option.
phil uk (6/5): 3.8 - 3.8 is about the top and bottom of it. In order to submit this review I had to add more comments. To be honest it’s hard to find very much positive to say. It was relatively clean and relatively quiet because we insisted a rear room which faced away from the main street upon which it is situated. It is within walking distance of airport which, quite honestly, is the best thing you can say about it.

_AndreaC_87_Arg (4/5): Very basic - Good location and not much more positive to say. Only recommendable if you have an early flight. Price is quite high for Ho Chi Minh and no breakfast available/included. No information about anything is given when checking in. Very noisy. Clean.

Victor (8/5): Frequent Traveller - Close to Tan Son Nhat airport, hotel top floor is still under renovation for a better breakfast sitting area. Currently, breakfast has no choices but just one piece of bread, one fried egg, one small cup of coffee with no refill. Had to ask for butter, unfriendly service man/waiter, grouchy. Room layout is a bit weird but spacious.
523geraldd (8/5): Convenient to Airport, Decent hotel - You can walk from the airport if you are not afraid of traffic, or the taxi ride is really cheap. This is a clean, no-frills hotel. There are nice convenient stores, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby.

OniontouA (6/5): SERVICES AND CLEANNES - Close to the airport,value for money,comfortable but floor in bathroom & bedroom not clean and some more the dustbin with rubbish. WI-FI SPEED GREAT. A little bit of noise due to near by airport but acceptable.
Al (10/5): Nice and clean hotel. - Very nice and clean hotel. Very close to the airport. We saved on a taxi by staying at this hotel. Very good hotel to stay at if you need to catch a plane during rush hour so you won't have to worry about missing a flight. Overall, loved the hotel. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Hung (8/5): nice, clean hotel and close to the air port. - I like the hotel nice, clean, good service and very close to the Tan Son Nhat International Air Port. The Hotel also close to town for the tourist can enjoy walk to the town.
porschep2015 (6/5): Good for stop over for morning flight - The hotel is located just 15 mins walking to the airport, good for a short sleep before your next flight. The room is basic, bed is comfy. there's no hair dryer in the room. overall, it's ok for what you have paid.

The front desk staff was very helpful with anything I needed and spoke good English. The area is safe, but not touristy. There are still good restaurants around and the place is very close to the airport.
DanielG810 (4/5): basic, but close to airport - The good thing is the location, especially if you arrive in Saigon in the middle of the night: a short 5-minute walk and you're there. The room was clean, rather basic but clean, BUT since the hotel doesn't offer breakfast, an electric kettle with a some Nescafé would have been useful.

coby (4/5): You get what you pay for... - The room was very small and the bathroom was very claustrophobic. The shower glass screen didn't close all the way. The worst of all was the sound proofing of the rooms was non-existent. There was a chime that went off every 30 seconds whenever somebody used the elevator, absolutely ridiculous that the chime isn't silenced!
Simon (10/5): Great Budget Accommodation Next to Airport - Very clean, simple accommodation right next to the International Airport in Hi Chi Minh City. Staff are exceptional in the friendliness and helpfulness, although their English is limited. Highly recommended for the budget traveller. We will definitely stay here again when overnighting in Ho Chi Minh City.
