- Michael Nathan (8/5): - Very friendly staff, and quite helpful..
- Ronald (8/5): - Clean, economical and friendly staff. Close to city transit. Very small rooms but clean and new!!
- Antonios (8/5): - Everything was ok.
- Cameron (10/5): - Lots of food nearby
- Francis (8/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfy bed. Room little bit small but for one person is good enough. Powerful Air con. Good location. Plenty eating surrounding.
- Francis (8/5): - Quick check in staffs are friendly and helpful. Only one thing the hotel supply toothbrush a bit too hard, I am worrying my filled teeth. So I bought super soft toothbrush from outside store .
- Jorge (2/5): - Es un hotel de buenas condiciones pero también es usado como hotel de paso para parejas lo cual deberían de describirlo
- Michael J (10/5): Great affordable hotel - This was a good value for us. Singapore is expensive especially with accommodation so I’m glad we found this one. It is accessible to the metro station about 10 minutes walk and the Indian restaurant next door is such a great value place to eat.
- Subhas (4/5): - Too small rooms
- Chuthamanee (10/5): - The only concern about this hotel is that it is located in red light district. You should stay elsewhere if you are a solo woman traveler. However, everything else about this hotel is perfect.
- Yawei (8/5): - n/a
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good for its price
- Eric (6/5): - Not a great location to be in at night
- janos (6/5): Only a budget place - Small but clean
Reasonable central
No fridge or safe
Tv is basic
So better be outside than inside
- Melanda (8/5): - Clean basic hotel for my one night stay.
- Wan Ju (2/5): - Bugs in the room everywhere. The floor is sticky. The shower water pressure is very low. Room is very small and hardly to get luggage lies on the floor.
- SON TRUONG (6/5): - Hotel near shop but you can eat international foods. Here, alot people india, Pakistan and more.
- Gelo (4/5): - We didnt ask to clean up our room but they proceeded anyway, although nothing was lost but the feeling of uncertainty and safety wasn't enough to keep us clear minded.
- Hnin (8/5): - Middle of the red-light district. Room is small and clean. 10 minutes walk away from train station.
- SiMin (8/5): - Renovated, simple and clean accomodation.
- Tuan (10/5): - The staf very helpful and nice thanks
- Thomas (6/5): - The area around the property was very ethnic with few tourists. It was hard to communicate at restaurants and difficult to find simple services.
- Fred (10/5): - very modern small rooms but was what we expected. Great internet
- Marne (8/5): - Very good location
- Fred (10/5): - Clean and modern. Fast internet. Rooms are small but functional. Staff friendly and welcoming.
- Cristiana (6/5): - It's okay but the water in the washroom sink pressure was very low. Although the shower was good & the staff especially Ida, was nice & very helpful person.
- NICOLAS (10/5): Great Customer service. - The Best of this hotel is the customer service. We want to give a special thank you to Aida. Overall, everyone helped us with any request we had. The rooms are clean and perfect for a short stay.
- Kean-Lee (6/5): - TV and hot shower not working well
- Verified traveler (6/5): Sing3days - The hotel facilities is basic, but the neighbourhood environment is messy and dirty.
- Kai (2/5): Very Dirty, service is very bad - Very Dirty, service is very bad
- ALEX (10/5): Perfect for overnight transit in Singapore - Clean room, economical price and helpful staff. I checked in very early after a longhaul flight on 04/08/2023. Aida and Salma were very kind and allowed me to check-in for a small surcharge and was assigned to room 606.
They showed the friendly hospitality that is not so common in Singapore at times, being a fast-paced modern country.
The area is often considered Singapore's red light district but it is fine. There's some local food around.
- Leon (4/5): - Room was very small. My main complaint. I paid for a delux Queen room. The bed was like sleeping on concrete.
I would never stay there again, mainly because of the bed.
- Edward (8/5): - The hotel was clean and very good service. Excellent location about with bus service around the corner and train service going around the city is about a 5 minute walk.
- Evi (8/5): - Good customers services. Thank you Aida, Selma, Ella, and 1 guy that i forgot his name. This front desks are one of the reason guests will be back
The room is very small, but clean
- Hui (6/5): - The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and we were able to check in early. However, the location is not good, it is pretty far from the MRT station, and the surrounding area is not clean, always crowded with people, and the hotel is located in a run-down area, not recommended for families.
- Lye Him (8/5): - Simple room for a one night stay
- Ashton (10/5): - This is the third Hotel 81 property that I have stayed at. I generally enjoy the stays at this chain. Overall, it is still good value for money and I am always pleasantly surprised because the staff is generally friendly and welcoming.
Note that not every room has a fridge, and rooms are generally small. Comfortable enough in terms of surface space for one person. Might be a bit cramped for two especially if you have big luggage. Cleanliness can also be improved but I wasn't uncomfortable at any point.
Overall, you get what you pay for, and in terms of the room, service and location, it is great value for money.
- Jeanneth (8/5): - Staff are very friendly and accomodating. The room is good. Quite small but it's okay.
- Kurt (8/5): - Room is a tiny box you can't even open a large suitcase in unless on the bed, and the bed itself was like a slab of concrete. But otherwise it was quite good.
- Milagros (8/5): - Close to food courts
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was fine for us as just had 12 hours in Singapore between flights. Small room but clean and friendly staff. While the location is convenient for the airport and not far from Marina Bay, the area is quite seedy and known as the red lights district which we didn’t realise ahead of time…
- Alongkorn (8/5): - The room was a bit small but overall was good for transit flight and there are plenty of good restaurants around there.
- John (8/5): - The room was quite small but for the price it was ideal for our 2 day stop over in Singapore.
- Lan (10/5): - Receptionist Aida is friendly and helpful. The service is excellent.
- Michele Margaret (2/5): - Really disappointed, nothing like the teaser. Only stayed the one night as our flight arrived very late.
- Norman (10/5): - Great customer services when checking in with Salma. She help us with changing our rooms. salma , Favhana and her staffs show us where to eat and places to go and help us with taxi service.
- Leo (10/5): - Quick check in / out
Very reasonable price for transit
- Siv Kheng (6/5): - Checked in and staff didn’t offer any advice or service to explain how to get up to the lifts or down or simple checking in or checking out instructions. Hotel has a lot of late night visitors that are very loud in the hallway
- Bruno (8/5): Clean and renovated for that district - Decent place and comfortable but little overpriced like everything in Singapore
- Cornelis (10/5): - The room out fit , the lift and entrsnce is good . The check out time at 11.00 is too early.
- Nicole (10/5): Excellent base in Geylang - Great stay, friendly staff. Basic room but perfectly comfortable, quiet. Great hot water, wifi and aircon. Note, I didn't pay for the top rate and my room didn't have a fridge. Not sure if others do. Had to ask for my room to be cleaned and bottles of water left there but they were perfectly happy to do so. The staff were always very helpful. Very easy to get around from here, buses running from both the top and the bottom of the street take you straight into the city centre (7and 70 especially). Also Mountbatten and Aljunied MRT are 10 mins walk away at the most. Transport is cheap here, something like $1.50 a ride.
Lots of cheap eateries and little shops to grab essentials. Phone shops for a local SIM. I couldn't get Grab to download, which is the local Uber type service. Front desk ordered me a taxi to the airport and it was about $25 and I was there in 20 mins or so.
- Gamage (10/5): - Cleanliness and friendliness. Best value room.close access to the metro and to bus stop.
- Sidhant (10/5): - Cordial staff, pleasing rooms and nice location.
- Samad (8/5): Good location!! - Super location!! Free onsite parking... Nice n clean room...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good room with reasonable price. Only the tap water has some issue this time
- julian (4/5): - Overall good stay considering the price. Just bring silicone earplugs if you are a sensitive sleeper to noise. Great location for restaurants and cheap beer.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing to be liked...standard rooms were given as superior..nothing much resembles as the pics shown on the net page.staff care and approach is poor and bathrooms are very small
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Strategic location, very convenient .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good hotel - It is convenient as it is near the bus stop... a few more meters is mrt Aljunied station but bus is way better. No option for food as they dont have it. No offer from bellboy to help on luggage. No welcoming details from counter especially for tourist like us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Passable hotel - It is an average hotel and yet affordable. But the room is so small it doesnt even have a side table on the bed. Walking around the bed is kind of difficult. But overall it is a good place to sleep. Near mrt/bus stations and convenience store. I would recommend this to budget travellers.
At our arrival on the room, I smell a strong cigarette odor, I called the reception and they quickly changed my room to a better smelling room. Channel selection on tv is not good and only few. Wifi is unusable most of the time, very slow. Good thing we have tourist 4g sim and reception is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money; colorful neighborhood - This hotel is in Singapore's red light district. That will be a "stop signal" for many travelers (and would have been for me) but it wasn't so bad. The red light stuff seems contained - not on obvious display. There are terrific cheap restaurants everywhere. Still, you can't tell anyone where you are staying because it has preconceptions.
Hotel staff were terrific. Room small and clean. Place was not too noisy. Other guests were normal, budget-minded people. The bathroom layout of my room was the weirdest I've ever experienced. There were fewer than 10 cm between the front of the toilet and the bathtub -- suitable for amputees and yoga practitioners.
Access to public transit is great. Singapore is anyhow not big. Overall, I was satisfied with the place and might stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was very clean and the staff was so friendly and amazing!
- Cris (8/5): - Fastr check in and check out..Friendly staff. Facilities i clean. Relaxing
- Soon (2/5): - very bad
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean and Comfortable. - Clean and comfortable. Is a bit too small.
- Joven (10/5): Needs a little improvement - The room was comfy but not enough to receive complimentary slippers and could've add trashbin inside the comfort room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Was in a bad part of town and the room smelled terrible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, very modern hotel. I very comfortable in this hotel. I will come back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was too shady and felt very insecure. Very noisy people could be heard from the rooms. I had to leave and book another hotel as I was with my child. The bed sheets were not clean and hairs were found
- Badzlan (8/5): Overall is good. Recommended stay. - Room smaller than expected from photo
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No have fridge.Receptions are not polite.
Room too small. No help from bell boys.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place was in the middle of nowhere and just be aware of the loud noises at night time and the small room. It is extremely small. They have a really cold ac, so if your in to cold you will like it. The staffs are nice.
- Rajan (10/5): - Good environment and convenient location for shopping.
- THUAT (6/5): Room is small and so noisy at mid night - It is so noisy at mid night, many sound from nearby rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Can't beat the convenience and comfort at a very affordable price. We checked in very late in the evenng and the hotel held the room for us (no questions asked). The only gripe, if any, is the erratic shower water temperature that can suddenly become scalding hot without warning. Other than that, it is what it is; a great budget hotel stay with no disruptions or unwanted drama. Highly recommended if you spend more time out of the hotel than in it. Great savings, great comfort.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 隔音很差,外面声音很吵
- yong zin (6/5): Ok for cheap trip - Ok
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean hotel and staffs are very friendly. Close to MRT Station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel and clean. Good value for money and great location.
- Emma (8/5): Clean, comfortable and great food with 5min walk - We arrived on a flight late and left early but the hotel were quick to check us in and direct us to some good food areas. A 5 min walk past 10pm we found many restaurants all with locals eating and having beers. We were welcomed and the food was amazing. We stayed here for one night before heading more into the centre but we loved this area and it’s buzz.
- Happy (8/5): - Nice clean hotel MRT within walking distance . Lots of eating places . A good budget hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good hotel and room
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not a very nice area, no fridge.... very noisy - cigarette smell through out the premises
- Hyeon-Jun (8/5): Not so bad, but dirty streets - Facilities, services were not bad. Room was little bit small, but was clean. Good for travellers planning for low-budget visit. But the neighborhood was bad. The street was dirty. This neighborhood is bad for women travellers.
- Wen Yi (10/5): - Very satisfied with the room. Just the sound proof can be better
- J (8/5): - Nice! Easy check in and quick accommodations. Staff was friendly.
- King-wah Eric (6/5): A tiny room to sleep - Just a tiny room to sleep, not even god enough to have the suitcase opened. S9$90 a night is expensive for little service but this is Singapore.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Less than 10 minutes walk from the Aljunied metro station. Hotel is about half way between the centre and the airport, which made getting around easy. The main room was a little grim and small. I was impressed by the large TV which had lots of channels and even an interactive Singapore guide.
The bathroom I disliked - it is a wet room with a shower next to the toilet which means the place gets wet all over the place after a shower. There is no on-site restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat and supermarkets nearby. One morning I had to ask the maid to make less noise at 8am whilst cleaning the vacated room next door. She did not apologise for banging around so early.
The hotel is part of a chain covering Singapore; a sister hotel is across the street but I have no idea what makes each one different.
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice stay, could be better - check in was a total breeze. it was a comfortable and cosy room for two if you don’t have huge luggages and/or bags cus they don’t have a wardrobe (just some hangers for you to hang a couple stuff at the top of the desk). however throughout the night we realized that the room (or the bed) actually isn’t very clean. my skin is a little sensitive so my legs started itching while i was trying to sleep. the next morning we actually found some little bugs on the bed. not sure where or how it came about but i guess other than that, it wasn’t such an off putting experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, Very good value for money. EXCELLENT staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very efficient check in. Spotlessly clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is a little to far from MRT and we have to walk thru a crowded neighborhood.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was great like other times i have been here only the wall is too thin so you can hear people walk in and out of there room especially late at night.
- mike (10/5): Well refurbished - Overall a good choice, I stayed several days as a tourist and was initially concerned that the location was a long way from the city centre, but the hotel desk showed me how to get to the metro station . It’s very easy to use and connects to many places.
- Michael (8/5): - The hotel was close to the MRT and in a good location within walking distance. The rooms are small
But updated to a very nice standard. I like a hot shower and I stayed at this hotel in Novemaber and Feburary and there was no hot water. I will stay across the street from now on at the 81 lucky hotel as there is hot water for a shower. The rooms are bigger but not updated. I am from Canada and I like a hot shower before I go to sleep.
- Manuel (8/5): - Rooms kinda small but they are clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is small but ok with us. We stayed there for 2 days. The Hotel is quite far away from the centre of Singapore.
- Melvin (10/5): Thumbs up - Good experience
